Moving Palm Desktop - Can't find instructions

I currently have Palm Desktop on one computer and I have synced my phone (TREO 755p-Verizon) to it. I now have all the data on my phone. I now want to install Palm Desktop on my laptop instead. I have installed the program using the CD on the laptop. What do I need to do to move the data to the laptop? Can I just reverse sync my phone...that is, transfer the data from the phone to the desktop? It doesn't seem to let me do that.
What other way is there? Should I transfer the user file from the palm installation on the other computer? I tried to find an answer somewhere but, alas, no luck.
Would appreciate anyone helping me transfer this from one computer to another.

I would back up the data on your Treo to a miniSD card using the free NVBackup application. Then I would install the Palm Desktop software on your laptop. Next HotSync the Treo with the laptop. When prompted, select the option to create an account on this computer. That will load all the data from your Treo onto the new computer.
What other way is there? Should I transfer the user file from the palm installation on the other computer? I tried to find an answer somewhere but, alas, no luck.
The other option, would be to uninstall Palm Desktop on the laptop if it is currently installed. Then, quit the HotSync Manager on the older computer and copy the entire Palm application folder (c:\program files\palm) from the computer to the laptop (c:\program files\palm). Then reinstall the Palm Desktop software. This time the installer will find the copied Palm application folder and upgrade it. Your data will remain intact.

My harddrive crashed and I am starting over. I can't seem to find documentation to sync my treo 650 with ical -addressbook etc. I did it before. I am not sure why I can't find the info now.

Yes, and it will—in addition—automatically disable the Palm Memo and Memos Conduits. You can move those from the Disabled Conduits folder back into the active Conduits folder once this process is completed, if you wish to continue synchronizing memos alone with the Palm Desktop.
You'll find those folders here:
Macintosh HD:Library:Application Support:Palm HotSync
Before adding the device to iSync, you must also either attach it using a USB cable or cradle, or pair it using Bluetooth.

Palm Desktop - Can download but can't access Palm Desktop for Treo 755p

After 6 months of use, no problem with my Treo. Last week my Palm Desktop won't let me access into it.  Have uninstalled/installed at least 6-7 times each. Desktop downloads onto computer fine but I only see the front "page" if you will.  Keep getting this error ...

Thank you Pat for all your help. Your advice worked. A dash shows the specific folders and keys I located on my computer (for those reading this and have exact same problem, you might have same and/or the other keys). I trust you gave all variable folder and key names. It worked perfectly the first time.
I had not made a backup or rename of my backup folder but as it was still in my Garbage Bin, I restored it after the fact.  The restored Palm Folder files scattered all over my computer. When I tried to reinstall after the Restore, same Microsoft error blocked me again out of Desktop.  Not knowing what files to really delete, but determination and "painfully" did a search by both my Treo username and "Palm", sifted thru every file, sent back to garbage bin, cleaned registry again, reinstalled, and held my breath as computer restarted.
Everything is cleaned out, running smooth and I have my backup folder.
Might I add to the viewers not to save a backup of the backup folder AFTER the fact. Either rename or save a duplicate outside of the Program Folder to avoid hours of needless work. Again thank you so very much for helping me.
Next:
Delete folders:

  C:\Program Files\Palm
C:\Program Files\PalmOne
C:\Program Files\Handspring
Then go to Start > Run
Type Regedit and click Run or OK
Then delete keys:

hi-I have a pam tx which i frequently hot sinc. i rarely look at the dektop, but decided to look. it asked me for my password and i had no idea. how do i reset my password so i can get on the desktop (to make sure my hot sinc really is working)? my palm tx is NOT locked out-it is he desktop. help................

You need to enter the password that you assigned on the handheld. If you do not know the password for palm desktop or on the handheld, you can try to reset the password on the handheld and then try to connect to the PC and sync to palm desktop.

Internet Sharing: Palm Device can't find Internet via USB to Imac G5

None of the internet-using applications on my Palm Tungsten E handheld can find the internet, via a USB connection from the Palm to my Imac G5 and its high speed internet connection.
I have 3rd party software (The Missing Sync 5 from Mark/Space) that is supposed to enable a USB-connected Palm device to share an OS X Mac's internet connection. But I'm not getting beyond the Mac and I think either something on the Imac or perhaps my Linksys router is blocking internet communication to and from the Palm device.
Despite turning off the Mac's firewall and enabling internet sharing in the OS X prefs panes, neither my Palm's web browser nor its mail program can get through to the internet and all I get are communications errors.
I would greatly appreciate suggestions as to what to try next as I have done just about everything I can think of to try to get this Palm to access the internet via the Mac

Hello Adrian - thank you for your suggestions. The USB-connected PALM does NOT show up in The Imac's "Network Ports" - - and the only thing I could add, as a port, that was not already there, was something called "6 to 4" -whatever that is.
The Palm is supposed to be able to get its internet page requests out onto my router and DSL line via the Mac's ethernet port when: A) this Palm is connected to the Mac via USB and B) when the Internet sharing feature is enabled in a software app called - The Missing Sync, which it is, and when C) Internet Sharing is turned on in the Mac 'Sharing' pref. All these conditions are true, but sadly none of the internet apps on the Palm can find the internet .
I suspect a DNS issue - even though my router of course knows the DNS addresses of my ISP.
I should think that the PALM and the host Mac would have the same IP address - namely the one assigned via DHCP by my router when the Mac boots up.
Very frustrating....

are you seeing a USB option in the window? If so
select it.
If not try going to System Preferences>Network>Show:
Network Port Configurations. (This with the Palm
plugged in via USB).
Is it in that window? If it is tick it and go back to
internet sharing and select it in that window. (It
should have now appeared).
If it's not in System Preferences>Network>Show:
Network Port Configurations; select 'New', and click
'Port'. Does it appear in the drop-down list there?
If it does, select it, name it and click OK. (Note:
USB isn't a 'normal' option here but maybe your
Missing Sync will have added it..?)
That will take you back to the main Network Port
Config window where you tick it if it isn't already.
Then go back to Sharing>Internet to see if is
available there. If is is, tick it.
If it isn't, don't know. Sorry.

Moved Library, iTunes can't find it

I moved my iTunes library to my external hard drive, though I then found no option for iTunes to discover the new location. So, I did it again using the tips given on the Apple support site. After clicking 'Consolidate', and deleting the music (as it was safely stored on my external drive), I opened iTunes and it was completely empty.
Now I have a double of each song on my external drive, one with the name and one with a 1 after it.
Firstly, how do I get iTunes to recognise the new location of my music?
I can't transfer the music back to my computer to try again as the library has now doubled in size. The method given on this website didn't seem to work anyway.
Secondly, how do I delete all duplicate copies of the songs without having to go into every single folder and delete them one at a time?

I have Photoshop Elements 7 and Premiere Elements 7 on Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit as well as on Windows 8 64 bit. All is well.
With your Photoshop Elements 7 your Windows 7, what do the Performance numbers look like under Full Editor, Edit Menu/Preferences/Performance?
My Windows 7 64 bit has the Windows XP compatibility mode. Due to the results from some of my recent maneuvers, I wonder about your thoughts of installing Photoshop Elements 7 on the Windows XP Mode side and gaining access to it from the Windows 7 side. You may loss the integration perks of Photoshop Elements 7 and Premiere Elements 7 since they technically will be on different operating systems.
I will explain next time if necessary how that type of idea backfired on me recently with my long standing problem of trying to get Photoshop Elements 12 Full Editor to open in my Windows 7 64 bit desktop.

I recently moved and after reassembling my system using comcast cable as I did before I get an error message stating that the music store can't be opened because my network settings are wrong. Comcast moved my email account and I have no issues with email or internet access. Any suggestions???

Unlike many others, the author has posted pretty detailed instructions and lots of screen shots. This isn't the best format for absorbing the information because the text and images aren't integrated, but hopefully with a little flipping back and forth you can get a solid start.

As a newbie to DW CS4 (Former user of GoLive) I get the idea that the Spry Menu Bar should be used; I can build the basic bar but have no success in changing font colors, background colors, Role Over, etc. Is there a tutorial that explains this process or am I better off using the DW navigation bar?
