Moving parts to a specific work station on an assembly line

Our company recently purchased the latest release of Oracle. We have all modules available. We are in the process of designing our future business requirements. One of the requirements is to be able to list all items at the work station level electronically. Unfortunately we have engineering BOM's rather than manufacturing BOM's. The way the BOM's are set up the individual parts are used in several different work stations and possibly entirely different departments. How do we get parts to the right workstations without restructuring the BOM's?

Our company recently purchased the latest release of
Oracle. We have all modules available. First off, what piece of software are we talking about? Oracle the company sells a whole lot of different pieces of software. Among the biggies
- Oracle the database
- The Oracle application server
- Oracle Collaboration Suite
- Oracle Applications Suite
- PeopleSoft
Based on your use of the term "modules", I would tend to suspect that you either purchased the Oracle Applications Suite or PeopleSoft.
This forum is for questions regarding the Oracle database. It appears, though, that you're interested in information about configuring one or more applications from the Oracle Applications Suite or from PeopleSoft. If so, you would want to post the questions in a forum dedicated to that particular product.
If you are really asking about the Oracle database, can you define the term BOM?

  • Moving parts to a work station on an assembly line

    I am really struggling and can use some help! Our group is in the process of designing our future business requirements. One requirement is to land a part at a specific location on an assembly line. Due to the way our bill of materials are structured we can land the first level of the bill to the designated location on the line however parts that are in level two, three and so on are not always installed at the same location on the line as the parent level one. We can't figure out how to get them to their proper location. Does anyone in the manufacturing arena have a suggestion?

  • Work Station

    I was trying to shrink my media browser, and I was moving my effects folder from on place to the other and doing this and that to correct my mistakes and now my whole work station is a mess.  I went to Windows-workstation-reset current work station and I can't get anything to look right again.  What am I doing wrong?

    If you are using two monitors try just using one monitor instead....at least until you've fixed your workspace back to default..
    -----------------------  see bottom note from Jeff FIRST....TRY THAT FIRST !!!!!   If it doesn't work try this below....ONCE the pref file is renamed and moved to another folder for easy retrieval ....Premiere will RECREATE a new one when it starts up....and it should be the default prefs the same as when the program was first installed..... you will need to go through your settings to make sure your scratch disk and everything is the way you want...
    shut down Premiere, navigate to C:\documents and settings\username\adobe\application data\premiere pro\3.x\ and delete the preferences file.
    try renaming this filename ----adobe premiere pro prefs----
    maybe to ----MY adobe premiere pro prefs-----...and move that renamed file to a new folder or your desktop where you can easily find it later if you need to restore it...to restore it you would move that file back into the "....\premiere pro\3.x  folder and rename it BACK to    ---adobe premiere pro prefs---
    -----------------------------------------------------------------TRY THIS FIRST
    from posting by Jeff Bellune follows:
    IIRC, it's here: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\Premiere Pro\3.0
    First, you can try holding down Shift+Alt while you launch Pr.  Keep holding them down until you see the screen where you choose a project.  Shift will clear the plugin cache, and Alt will reset the Preferences.  At least it works with CS4; it may work with CS3.  The whole point of deleting the folder I listed above is to clear out as much user-specific old data as possible, including the cache and the prefs.  The Alt+Shift thing may work, and keep you from having to find and delete that folder.
    MY NOTE:   most people recommend deleting the entire folder ( after renaming and moving just like you would a filename ) called --- 3.X -----but I'm hoping it will generate just the prefs file within the folder and you don't have to do the whole folder...  which is prefs and cache and plug in log   etc..

  • Deny any user to login to any work station

    Dear Support,
    presently I see any user who is 'domain user' member can log in to any system in Domain to any user's PC. I am looking for best possible approach/practice to deny the log in attempt of any user to any work station in company.
    I found a way while doing google search on internet which tells me in order to have above it is required to do below settings in
    - gpedit.msc > local computer configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > deny log on locally
    and this to be done in every system , is this correct ?
    please advise

    Hi,
    In AD, if you want that a user can only log on to specific computers, we can follow the steps below to do this:
    In ADUC, select the
    properties of the user.
    Click
    Account tab, and click Log On To… bottom.
    Under
    this user can log on to option, select the following computers.
    Add computer name to the list.

  • Mobile Work-Station for SAP Business One

    Hello Everyone
    As I am aware that most of you have seen already various mobile solutions that integrate to SAP B1, Amodat Mobile Work-Station is currently the only solution that offers a complete mobile work-station for the four main field functions of SAP Business one: sales/van-sales, service, CRM and warehouse management on PDAs and laptops in on-line/off-line environment.
    We refer to those solutions as workstations, since they provide a COMPLETE working functionality for corporate users in the field with features such as full order, collection and distribution management (including invoicing and supporting multiple price lists), on the go inventory management, service calls dispatch optimization tools, document attachments to accounts and activities, GPS location and much more.
    Although we have numerous R/3 customers, our main focused is the SME market where we can offer robust solutions for a very reasonable price. Since 2001 we have implemented through our partners hundreds of projects ranging from 5 to over 500 users across Europe, North America and Australia.
    I will be happy to provide more information on the solutions and set up live demo if anybody is interested.

  • Java web start running on windows NT4 work station

    I have installed java web start on a windows NT4 work station (service pack 6) with a directx v5. I successfuly launch the sun applications such as swing set 2, but I have some troubles concerning our software which used another look and feel than the default one. A system error is raised saying that the library ddraw.dll could not be loaded.
    I have unistalled and re-installed directx v5 but the error is still raised.
    Does any one can help me to solve this problem ?.
    Thank you.

    Hello Sim085
    thanks for your reply.
    Perhaps it would be easier for us to continue the programming with any kind of VisualStudio Produkt ;-), although we dont't had to think about OOP yet!
    Because of our new Network-Technology (Terminal-Server) we have to discuss serveral possibilities.
    I've read about JSP and ASP.NET, and I want to know if JSP or any kind of JAVA Program will run on a Terminal-Server.
    Are there any special aspects I have to know when running JSP on a terminal server from Microsoft? Is it better to program applications in JAVA or in JSP? ...
    Thanks

  • Macbook pro for work station with external monitor?

    I shoot weddings and need to run cs2 plus other programs and storage for photos.
    I read in Macworld where they recc. the Macbook pro instead of a power mac as a work station using a 24" dell. They said the power mac is overkill.
    Do you think I would be happy using it in this way?
    I would save a bundle in buying another computer.
    I do have an older PC now tower that I use..
    I also would have to run windows since there are programs that i run on xp that they don't make for the mac.
    Maybe I should just stay with a PC for the workstation?

    if you meant compared to a powermac (ie, a G5), then the macbook pro is actually on par or faster than those machines. but if you meant the current mac desktop, the mac pro, then indeed that is a significantly more powerful machine.
    be warned though.. adobe cs2 is currently not native for any intel mac, MBP or otherwise. so it's going to run much slower than what you'd expect, and much slower than what the machine is really capable of, due to emulation. this will be resolved with cs3, which should be out before the end of the month.
    as for your windows apps that don't exist for the mac. before you jump in with the intention of definitely running windows on the MBP, you should take a look around and see if there are any mac programs that can do what you need to do with those apps, even if they aren't exactly the same. this may not be an option for you, but if it is, it's a nicer way to work than to be forced to use up all the extra disk space and system resources and effort, to have a windows install running as well. that said, if you can use these apps through parallels, it can be a pretty seamless way of accessing those apps when you need to.. but you'll chew into your drive space still.
    but in principle, what you want to do is definitely achievable. you won't get the most bleedingly fast system that a mac pro desktop would give you.. but as I said, the current MBPs are right up there with the power of the G5 macs, in many cases faster, so it's definitely desktop class performance even if not in the same league as the mac pro. photoshop will annoy you if you try to run the non native version though.. so make sure you get the intel version (ie cs3) as soon as it comes out. all in all, together with a nice large 2nd monitor (and prob a good external drive too) it'll make for a great working setup.
    I'd also get a wireless keyboard and mouse, and a stand to put the MBP on, so it sits at monitor height and you can just work as if it were a desktop machine. that's what I do, and it's great.

  • How can I load a flat file using a different Work Station

    Hi Gurus,
    I'm having problems with loading Flat file in our Production Server when it comes to loading a file from another work station. The scenario is all the Info Packages needed are created in oour Dev Server. So the location of the flatfile is already define which is the developer's workstation. Now when the package is transported to the production server any changes to the package is not allowed inlcuding the location of the flatfile needed to be uploaded. Now my question is. is there a way that the location be changed in the production server without adding the package Z_BI because that will mean we can do changes in the production server. Thanks in Advance
    - Kit

    Directly you can not change the info package settings. You need do   change the status of Info package to changeable mode and then do necessary changes.
    RSA1 => Click on truck symbol (Object changeability) => select info package => right click => click on Switch changeability.
    Now do the changes to your Info Package.
    With Regards,
    Kishore.

  • Secondary domain controller not able to connect from work stations.

    We are using primary and secondary domain controllers. In which the secondary domain controller act as a replication server. actually the problem occurs while accessing the secondary domain controller from work stations I get the following error:
     "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed".
    Any one please give as a solution.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Most simple resolution would be unjoin/disjoin the computer from the domain and rejoin the computer account back to the domain.
    There might be multiple reasons for this kind of behavior.
    Here are a few of them:
    Single SID has been assigned to multiple computers.
    If the Secure Channel is Broken between Domain controller and workstations
    If there are no SPN or DNS Host Name mentioned in the computer account attributes
    Outdated NIC Drivers.
    According your description, the second one may be the cause of your problem.
    When a Computer account is joined to the domain, Secure Channel password is stored with computer account in domain controller. By default this password will change every 30 days (This is an automatic process, no manual intervention is required).
    Upon starting the computer, Netlogon attempts to discover a DC for the domain in which its machine account exists. After locating the appropriate DC, the machine account password from the workstation is authenticated against the password on the DC.
    If there are problems with system time, DNS configuration or other settings, secure channel’s password between Workstation and DCs may not synchronize with each other.
    A common cause of broken secure channel [machine account password] is that the secure channel password held by the domain member does not match that held by the AD. Often, this is caused by performing a Windows System Restore (or reverting
    to previous backup or snapshot) on the member machine, causing an old (previous) machine account password to be presented to the AD.
    Follow below link which explains typical symptoms when Secure channel broken,

  • How to get Time from Different Work Station on the Network

    Hi,
    How do I get time from different work station on the network using its ip:port etc.
    Lets say, my main server-side Java application is running on a work station 123.12.123.1:1527,
    the client-side applications are accessing it using above IP.
    what I wanna do is, use the time of 123.12.123.1 machine throughout the application, not client local time.
    Appreciated..

    Ok, this network service on IP:Port is working for me, I hope this is the best way of doing it.
    In server application, I have this
    package RenameItToYourOwnPackage;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.io.ObjectInputStream;
    import java.io.ObjectOutputStream;
    import java.net.ServerSocket;

    public class ServerSocketExample implements Runnable {
        private ServerSocket server;
        private int port = 7777;
        Socket socket;
        public void run() {
            try {
                System.out.println("Waiting for client message");
                server = new ServerSocket(port);
                while (true) {
                    socket = server.accept();
                    // Read a message sent by client application

                    oos.writeObject(new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss").format(new java.util.Date()));
                    ois.close();

                e.printStackTrace();
            } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) {

    I have a small production client looking to run 1 workstation running Mac Lion 10.7.3 and two work stations running Windows7 64 bit. They will all be talking to the same storage array through 8Gb FC. What is there most cost effective way to do this?

    Thank you for your help.
    The client has already made the jump to 8Gb including HBA's, switch and RAID Storage.
    The other question will be if they need a seperate Mac Server to run the Meta Data or are they able to use the current Mac they are running to do this?
    The Mac is a 201073 model they say with 12 Dual Core 2.66Mhz processors and 16 GB of Memory. This system is currently doing rendering. It has the XSAN Client but I understand for the solution to work they need to also run XSAN Server on a MDC.

  • Server based Office 2013 - New template, template not showing header content in one work station only

    This is for Server based Office 2013 - using Word
    All computer work stations are running Windows 7 professional
    I have Word 97 - 2003 templates saved on the shared drive on the server. I have these templates "pinned" to the opening page on all server user accounts, so when anyone starts word on the server anyone can see the company templates.
    On most of the work stations, when I create a new document from one of my templates - Word successfully shows all the Header and Footer details.
    But on one work station there is no content in the Header or Footer, no matter which server account is signed into the server on that workstation.
    Any suggestion

    ... ... no matter which server account is signed into the server on that workstation.
    Any suggestion
    Do you mean it happens regardless of which acount signed in? If so, maybe update the workstation?

  • Forcing work stations to use proxy

    I have an almost entirely MAC network using open directory. I am installing an Internet filter, K12USA SecureSchool. Is there a way to force all workstations to go through the "proxy" using a policy instead of having to go to each work station and configure each browser separately? I know this can be done in Windows Active Directory, but I am not sure how to do it on a Xserve 10.4.

    On my DHCP server I went into Netinfo manager and created the dhcpproxy_auto_discoveryurl and set it to http://172.25.1.5:81/proxy.pac. With the 172 address being the k12usa proxy. Im not sure that blocking port 80 would force everything to the proxy. So far the only way i have gotten traffic filtered and configure the browsers on the workstations. I just hate to have to go to 300 machines and configure browsers. Thanks for your responses.
