Moving photos to the first position

Hi
When I inport a photo it goes to the end of all the photos in the browser but I woould then like to move it to the first place, is there any way other than draging it to the top as this take a long time when you have a lot of photos 1,000s.

The Browser shows you the Images contained in any selected container(s).
You can sort the Images in the Browser ascending or descending, on _any_ metadata field you can show in List View.
List View is one of the two ways of displaying Images and data in the Browser. The other is Grid View. There are buttons on the top right border of the Browser to switch between List and Grid views (also "View→Browser (the second "Browser" in this menu)→{List} or {Grid}").
The metadata in List View is shown as columns. Clicking an already-selected column header toggles ascending/descending (just like in Finder). You determine which columns show by checking them in the "Browser & Viewer Metadata Overlay" dialog box (button on bottom right of Browser border, also "View→Metadata Display→Customize"; NB: not on the "Metadata" menu, on the "View" menu).
There are two Metadata Overlays for List View: Basic and Expanded. I suggest adding _every available metadata field_ to the "Expanded" Overlay set. This will give you a spreadsheet-like table showing you all the Images in the selected container(s) and all the available metadata. Click a metadata column header to sort on that column's metadata. When you change back to Grid View this sort order is maintained, and will show in the drop-down sort order control in the top left of the Browser border.

We are talking about the Mail app, right? In the Mail menubar, click on Window and then Previous Recipients:
That eliminates the previous recipients. If you are talking about the suggestions because there are 10 people with the name 'Steve' in your Contacts, then I do not know how to eliminate those unless you change the name slightly or wait until you type the last name or some other differentiator.

If you manually open iPhoto do you not see the photos?

Yu are trying to impoort photos taken by or saved to the iPod, right? If the photos were synced to the iPod then iPhot does not work.

Apple mail incorrectly promotes my name to the first position in the To: field

I'm not sure how long this has been happening, but I recently noticed that my email address is always promoted to the first position of the "To:" field on messages that I receive. This is NOT a welcome feature. Why? Because the order of recipients that the sender addressed the message to is relevant context to understanding, and properly handling the message. Promoting my name to the first position in the To: field eliminates this context, making it seem as if I am the primary person that the sender expects a response from (one possible reason for addressing it to me first).
Apple, you need to respect the content formatting choices of email messages. Maybe your interaction designers thought this would make me feel more special? More important? Not sure, but what it actually does, is it makes me have to look at the raw message source in order to find out whether or not I'm at the top of the list. This is a mis-step in the way you present email messages. I hope you will reconsider the design and go back to showing my name in the order entered by the sender.

I have this problem too with my Macbook Air. Mail opens automatically every time my laptop sleeps. I actually just asked about this in my own thread. However, it is not causing my apps to freeze.

On the above website there is a photo gallery moving banner at the top of this home page. When I first went on this site I could see the photos properly as they advanced. Then, the blog photos were changed and I could no longer see the photos. The banner on my screen is a complete blank even though the upper right circles indicate that "something" is progressing. When I first open the site I see a momentary flash of the site name graphic then the banner goes blank (white). Thanks for your help

The script that loads the images doesn't seem to be working in Firefox 3.x versions including Firefox 3.6.23<br />
The banner loads if JavaScript is disabled, but with JavaScript enabled a script replaces that banner with a slide show that fails to load the images.<br />
It work in Firefox 4 and the current Firefox 7.0.1 version, so you will have to update if you want to visit that site.

Moving photos from the Photo Library to the Camera Roll

Hi,
I have recently moved all of the photos on my camera roll into the photo library, however I want to put some back onto the camera roll, but I can't figure out how to. I realize that there probably is no way because of what both of these albums are actually for, but I was wondering if there was any way possible.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I never said that I did it directly, neither did I mean to imply that I was looking for a direct solution. This I guess is where our misunderstanding comes from. I just did not feel like repeating the whole process I went through. Regardless, I would rather this thread not derail into who said what and whose misunderstanding who. I now know that it is not possible to get pictures from the photo library to the camera roll in any way, so my question is answered for now at least.

Empty item in the first position of a select box

Hello.
I'm trying to reproduce a very common behaviour of
combo-boxes with Spry, without much success.
My code populates a combo-box trough a Spry XML dataset.
All the items are correctly displayed; the first element in
the XML is showed as the default value of the combo box. I would
like though to visualize a blank item as a default value. Of course
I could simply add an empty element in my XML but I find it a
rather ugly solution. Could you suggest me how to solve the problem

Thanks. We do have Adobe CC and therefore I have access to PrPro but I spent some time getting to know Element's interface already and was hoping I would not have to use PrPro, which is slightly more complicated.
It is only small to medium edit jobs that I need editing software for anyway.
That is a shame really!
As far as I am aware, there is a newer version (PE12) that is now availble. Does anyone know if they have improved the functionality in terms of precise title positioning in that latest version?

Moving photos in the main iphoto library

Hi there,
I import photos from different sources (scans, digital cameras, panoramic images created in PS) and they often end up in an odd order. A sequence of photos taken on one day will be separate from a PS panoramic made up of photos taken on the same day. I would like to be able to move photos around within the main library, grouping them together, but they don't seem to drag and drop. I do NOT want to have to create an album in order to group photos - I want to have control over the main window. Is this possible?

View menu -> Sort Photos -> Manually
and all the folders in the Photos library (the one under Events) vanished. Can I get them back? Is the Photos library effectively been replaced by Events?

Moving Photos from the cloud

How do I get photos from the cloaud to my device? It syncs, but the photos dont move & neither do the videos. I know there is more than enough storage.

Iphoto keeps moving photos to the Trash

I installed the latest version of Iphoto 11...When I initially installed it a large portion of my photos were moved to the trash...I have moved them back multiple times but everytime I shut Iphoto down it puts them back in the trash...Very frustrating...
Any help would be appreciated

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

In iMovie 11 I can not add photos after the first video.

I keep trying to add a photo taken with my iPhone to a project, but it never shows up. Instead of showing up the video immediately previous to the photo displays a still shot with Ken Burns.
Any thoughts?

I upgraded my iPone 4 to ios 7. on the front page, the clock and date appeared on the photo I have there. I edited the photo so it will be less aide and less high and tried to put it on the front page (the page before the home page). the photo was suddenly huge and did'nt match the size of the screen. Why?
How can I put the old photo so it will match the size of the screen?
Will appreciate a detailed answer. (i am not an expert in computers...).

That's because you need to sign out of it on iTunes, and Facebook isn't integrated with your Apple ID so you will need to add your new email manually to your Facebook account.

Moving layers leaves the old position lines ghosted on the screen!

Hello guys,
I don't know if this is an easy fix or not but this issue has randomly shown it's ugly head and is very irritating!
When I move layers now from position A to position B, the old lines are still shown on screen in position A. Shown in this picture: http://i.imgur.com/6B1mcZq.jpg
Any help on how to remove this issue would be greatly appreciated!

For me it sounds like a hardware malfunction Either these lines are caused by internal monitor or graphic card itself. Easiest way to check this is connecting an external monitor. If the same happens on external monitor its graphic card problem and the mainboard needs replacing.
If you need spare parts you can contact an authorized service provider in your country. The guys are able to order all Toshiba parts. Furthermore they can help you to replace the parts if you are not familiar with notebook disassembling.
Sorry for this more or less standard answer but here its user to user forum only and if its really a hardware malfunction you need professional help to get spare parts and replace them. Furthermore you have already tried the recovery disk that should always and work and if not => Hardware problem.

Lightroom Mobile stopped syncing my photos after the first collection.

Has anyone else had similar issues? My computer has the files described as complete, but the app is simply not syncing.

WWWHHHAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHHH.... Can you tell I am frustrated???? I have 10 collections synced without a glitch, but all of a sudden, for no apparent reason, the last two do not want to sync. AT ALL. It says on desktop they are syncing, I see the syncing animation on ipad, the two collections have showed up on ipad, but that is where it stops. Those two test collections have a total of 9 photographs in them, LRdesktop says that it is syncing 9 photographs, but nothing happens. The animation keeps going, and by now those two collections should have long been on ipad...
So for some reason to me unknown, LR mobile randomly stops working and syncing, and the only option is delete all data so far... Since I have 10 collections that have a total of 2882 photographs in them, I am not very happy to have to delete all data and have to start it all up from scratch again, yet this seems to be the only thing doable to get out of a gridlock...
Major frustration is that I can only reach a call center in India where I presume they are working from a script, and if the problem does not fit the script they can NOT help you. I have now spoken to four people overthere and they all promise to call me back, but of course nobody does call me back.
I have been waiting for a couple of days now, and the suggestion I got in the last call half an hour ago was to wait longer, they are researching it.
Why can I not talk to a guy in England and what if their research takes them 50 days? Who is to say...
It is not acceptable to have to delete all data time after time till mobile decides it has enough, and wants an delete all data again. This is all very confusing for my workflow of course, because in the end I forget which ones I did and which ones not.
I am ready to pull out all my hair... strand by strand. The most frustrating thing is that you can not reach a real live person in England or USA who could actually troubleshoot live... Althoug I can imagine now that the only solution will be delete all data again...
It means that you are never sure whether mobile is going to work or to act up. It seems that if it starts to act up, the whole thing is messed up... It means that for the last four days I had moments of utter happiness followed by utter dispair, the latter on now again, because I seem to spend time that I should be working on photographs on browsing the forums to see if anybody else had that problem and how they solved it.
