Moving pics to a firewire drive - how do I tell iphoto where they are

I moved my photo library - like 2500 images - to a firewire drive to preserve space on the system drive. Now when I boot iphoto it shows only an outline of each photo. I want to know how I tell iphoto where my pictures are located, without having to do that every time I boot the app. or without importing them again, which would make a copy in the system folder again. YUCK! Help please!

First of all, it appears that you did not move the library correctly. It MUST be moved as an ENTITY. Don't even think about opening up the library and moving parts of it. If you made a mistake here, you need to undo that mistake before you proceed.
Be reminded that a drag to a different disk is always a copy so initially iPhoto will still access the library in the ORIGINAL location. Eventually, you want to trash that library but, before you do, you should check out the one in the new location. You need to tell iPhoto where to look only once. Hold down the Option key while starting iPhoto and, when you see the menu, direct it to the new location. Check everything out and, when you're satisfied, trash the library that still exists in the old location.
By the way, once iPhoto "knows" the location of the library, ALL imports will go there. Period.

I built my own computer which has 4 internal hard drives with 3 internal hard drives that are 3tb. With my movies and tv shows, I need to know if I can move the Itunes folders (Movies, TV shows and Home Video's) and move each one of them to 3 seperate internal hard drives while Itunes can still find them to play with my apple tv. Does anyone know how I can do it?

While you can do that, it is not a feature of iTunes. Put your movies on the external drive, then add them to iTunes by dragging the files to iTunes while holding the option (alt) key down so it leaves the files where they are located. You can open a command prompt by hitting the start button and typing CMD<Enter> in the search box that opens up.
To move the current backup folder from C: to D: type in this command and press <Enter>
Move "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
Where <User> is your Windows user name.
To make iTunes look for the data in the new location type in this command and press <Enter>
MkLink /J "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
If your external drive has a different letter or you already have a folder called "Backup" then edit "D:\Backup" accordingly in both commands.

After that just select the new folder location in iTunes> Advanced settings.

Hold Option and launch iTunes.

iPhoto needs to have the Library sitting on disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Users with the Library sitting on disks otherwise formatted regularly report issues including, but not limited to, importing, exporting, saving edits and sharing the photos.

Itunes can't find all my songs. how to tell iTunes where they all are

i had to re-install a new hard drive and i downloaded and installed iTunes. i have all my iTunes songs on another drive. i saved the itunes library file and now when i open iTunes it shows all my albums and songs but when i try to play them they won't play. if i double click on a song i can tell iTunes where the song is and it will play but i don't want to have to do that to every track. how can i tell iTunes where all my songs are? i tried to Add Folder to the library but it only gets so far and says that it doesn't have the room for all the songs or something like that. i don't want all that media on the c drive anyway. how can i get this to work? thanks

It comes up with a 1428 error message sometimes, and sometimes it says that I have to restore my iPod. I have restored it many times, but it just keeps going in a circle and will not sync my songs back to the iPod.
hmmmm. if you're relentlessly getting a recovery mode message, then you might be having a Windows drive letter confusion. see the following document for troubleshooting suggestions with that:
"iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode - Use iTunes to restore"

Use the Firewire cable and t boot the old Mac's hard drive to the new Mac's desktop and transfer your entire iPhoto folder.
Use Disk Utiliy to erase'format HFS+ Journaled your TimeMachine drive and use the free Carbon Copy Cloner and clone your new boot drive to the external, it's hold option bootable.

I'm using iphoto 11. Identifying all the faces in my pics. It keeps suggesting the same pics for lots of people. I dont know the people in these faces but I cant find a 'i dont know who this face is option to clear them out of the list of waiting to be identified. Also some of these are people at all but odd bits of tree and such like [also faces from posters screens ...] but there seems to be no 'this is not a face option'. I havent yet looked on the actual photo but with a library of 10,000 ish photos i dont even know how to find the photos with these particular faces in them.

Hi,
For a cloud service, though it is possible to access instance VMs and do changes on their file system by RDP sessions, but it is not recommended, as you will end up loosing your changes if role instance VMs are restarted.
If you really want to keep certain settings configurable and which will be shared by all your role instances, best way to do is to utilise the cloud service configurations, typically you mention these settings in .cscfg file and you can also edit those using
azure management portal.
You can also access those from your code

How do I tell iTunes where to find my default Outlook 2013 pst file - I do not use the default location and I am not using Exchange?

Basically now what you will have to do is clear your library, and then re-add the music from the external drive (File menu, "Add folder to library").
For future reference though, the best way to handle this situation would have been to first create a "Music" folder on the external drive, set that as the default music folder (Edit menu, Preferences, the General sub-tab under the Advanced tab), and then use the Advanced menu "Consolidate Library" option. This would have copied all your iTunes music to your external drive and re-linked iTunes to that location for each of the songs. Then all you would have had to do is delete the song files off the computer's hard drive, and it wouldn't have had any effect on the iTunes library.

How do I tell iphoto NOT to load ALL images from camea and iphone, only new images?

I've bee using my MacBook Pro, iphoto and Nikon for many years. I travel alot and take many pictures, and like to keep them on the memory cards as an extra backup. All was going great on a recent trip, until one day, suddenly, when I plug camera into computer, iphoto opens (as usual) but it starts downloading ALL of the old images on the memory card instead of just the ones that have not already been imported! It takes forever when you are using a 16GB card!! Is this due to some update I installed? How do I tell iphoto not to do this?! I only want to see images not yet imported, as it used to be. I am using OS X 10.6.8 and iphoto '09 - 8.1.2 And, this same thing is happening with my iphone, and my other camera.

iPhoto does read all images (how else can it know if it has already imported them or not) and then gives your oppertunity to import new, all or selected
Yes it does take a bit to get all images and see what needs to be imported - I use 32 GB cards - and the other issue is that if you delete impoprted photos next time you use the card the deleted ones will be in the new list so you have to select the rest and import selected - I've found no solution to this
