Moving pictures, rather than copying pictures.

Using the Blackberry Desktop Manager, I have been trying to move my pictures from my phone to the desktop. I use Media>Media Manager Within "My Devices", I select the images that I would like to move. There are four prompts: Copy Up, Copy Down, Move Up, and Move Down.... but the Move Up is only gray, and I can't see what I need to do to make it black so that I can select it.
Another concern is that I do use the Copy Up choice, but I wind up with duplicated images. What do I need to do to prevent doubling up?

You can transfer your media files without BB Desktop Software/Media manager.
There are two types of memory on the device.
External (micro sd card) can be observerd from desktop computer and Internal which cannot be observed from desktop computer (except for Storm devices).
You can observe your device memory contents via instruction:

Navigate folders and transfer all your pictures/videos/ringtones/music from internal memory to the external memory. And after that access them from your desktop computer.

Usually the default program associated with an image file extension is an image developing Program like Lightroom or an image editing program like Photoshop. If you want to change the default associated program to Adobe Bridge you would use Window's Controls Panel file association applet.

Hi I need to set my new HP Mobile 150 to print 5x7 pictures rather than the default 4x6. I have changed the paper size in the printer properties but I'm still getting 4x6 prints - any advice would be very appreciated!

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that when trying to some 5 x 7 photos that they are printing in a 4 x 6 format using your Officejet Mobile 150 printer.
To better assist you, would you please provide some additional information:
How is the printer connected (USB cable or Bluetooth)?
What program are you using to print the photos?
Are you trying to print borderless 5 x7 photos? Borderless printing is not support for 5 x 7 photos, please see the Officejet Mobile 150 Printer Specifications.
What operating system are you using on your computer (Windows 7, Mac 10.9, or Windows 8, etc)?
Have you downloaded and installed the full feature software and drivers?
I’m sorry to ask this, but have you loaded 5 x 7 photo paper into the printer?

Try this: in Mail's Composing preference pane set the format of the emails to plain text. Then once the photos are in the email Control-click on them and select "Show as icon" in the contextual menu.
That might let them see the photos as icons/attachments rather the view the photos. A lot depends on how they have their email client setup.
The sure fire way is to zip/compress the photos and adding the zipped file to the email.
The recipient will have to unzip the file at the other end to get the image files.

Lightroom 4-How to reorganize files by date when choosing to add rather than copy them to Lightroom

My photos were in disorganized folders on different hard drives. I was able to import them into Lightroom 4 using COPY, and now my folders are reorganized by year and month on my hard drive, which is how I want them. However, I now have a copy of my photos in my catalog and a copy of each photo in my photo folder on my hard drive. This is taking up too much space. Is there a way to have Lightroom automatically import my pictures and reorganize them into folders by date using the ADD option rather than the copy option when importing from my hard drive? Thank you!

Meaning that they are still where they were, scattered, and not catalogued in LR. PLUS, there is a copy of each file in the place you copied them to when you imported them, and these are the versions of the files that are catalogued in LR. Right?

Yes, one set, the original ones, viewable only in Explorer/Finder, the other/duplicate set viewable in LR (and/or also in Explorer/Finder).

So just delete the original versions, as long as you are sure that you have them all in the copied-to location (where they are catalogued by LR).

As jd_paige says, next time use MOVE instead of COPY. If you use ADD, they will remain where they are. Sometimes it is easier to do it this way, and then move/reorganize them once you have them in the catalogue.

HT1449 Is there a way to "Organize Library" and *move* the files, rather than *copy* them?

I was trying to move my iTunes Library from the old iTunes Music folder to a new-style iTunes Media folder.
The Organize Library command wants to copy my 219 GB library. Is there any way to do the same thing but move the files instead? There's no way I'm going to be able to free enough space to make a copy of my whole library, and I would really rather not move the whole thing to an external drive, just to move it all back to the proper folder on my internal drive.

Let's recap.
Your iTunes media library is in an old school layout, library in the usual location of <User>/Music/iTunes containing a media folder called iTunes Music. You have updated the iTunes preference for the media folder to <User>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media but, as expected, most if not all your media is still on the old path. And you want to rearrange your library to the current layout.
Correct? If so then the following steps will sort out your library:
Change the media folder preference back to <User>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music. Close & then reopen iTunes.
Use File (iTunes?) > Library > Organize Library > Rearrange files in the folder "iTunes Music" to get iTunes using the new internal structure for the media folder. Ignore if this option is grayed out, you've already done it.
(Sorry, I'm a PC user so a bit hazy on precise layout of Mac menus)
Use File (iTunes?) > Library > Organize Library > Consolidate files to pull in copies of any files that made it into the iTunes Media folder or are scattered elsewhere.
Delete the now redundant folder iTunes Media.
Close iTunes, rename iTunes Music as iTunes Media, start iTunes, check under iTunes > Preferences > Advanced that the media folder preference has automatically updated to .../iTunes Media, correct if required.
(Optional). Close iTunes, rename the library file iTunes Library as iTunes Library.itl then click the icon to start iTunes and immediately press and hold down option. When prompted to choose or create a library click choose and browse to the renamed file.
I could have suggested using Doug's script Re-locate Selected but the process above is much more efficient. You could use this however at step 3 to avoid the temporary duplication of the files from iTunes Media or housekeeping for any other files stored ourside of the iTunes Music folder.

Iphone 4 Sync - Windows PC - Why does it keep removing what is on my phone rather than copying what is on my phone onto ITUNES?

I have had my iphone for about two years now, i cannot for the life of me understand why every time i sync to itunes that it keeps wiping off what is on my phone.
What i mean by this, i may have added a new phone contact or downlaoded a new game and placed on a specific page. but when i sync it removes these and just copies back onto my phone whatever i last synce.
Why the heck does it keep doing this. i remmeber in the first year i had this, but there was a solution; something i had to tick within itunes. I DONT KNOW WHAT IT WAS.
Hope someone can help me. i have purposly not sync my phone since last year because of it.

I appreciate your response. I have done all of the things mentioned, but still when I click on "devices", the "transfer music" option is still not selectable. I see it, but can't select it. I am running Windows 7 on my PC.
However, one thing I read makes me take pause. At one point I did erase my computer back to factory settings using the mirrored image. We backed up all information and put the important stuff back on, but I don't believe we did anything with iTunes, so it's a possibility that the music that is in my library now, may only be music I have purchased since then. But, (thinking out loud) that was a while ago and I am pretty sure I have purchased more music than what is in my iTunes library, since then. Maybe I will approach it from that angle and see what happens.
It just doesn't make any logical sense that syncing goes from computer to device. Ostensibly then, my iPhone would only have the music that is on my computer after syncing and that is not the case. I still have all my music on my phone. I can see the new music that's on my phone get added to my iTunes library when I connect, which would make one think that syncing occurs both ways. I don't know. It's maddening. Maybe I should just follow my husbands advice and go to an Android. LOL. Or maybe I will take my laptop and phone to the Apple store and make them figure it out. Ha.

How do I move file rather than copy them from place to place?

I'm not able to figure out how to move files. Every time I drag them from place to place in Finder all it does is makes a copy. How do I move them? I'm tired of copy and delete, then empty the trash... I'm just not getting it.

Try this:
To move files to a different disk without copying them, hold down the Command key while you drag the icons.
I know it works in Leopard, and I think it also works in Tiger. If it doesn't, then there is a contextual menu module called MoveCM - VersionTracker or MacUpdate - that should do the trick.

Text continues moving horizontally rather than starting a new line in editable text field

I am trying to make a feed backbox for visitors on my website. I have made the editable text field and scroll bar and set all of my preferences, but when the typing reaches the border on the right of the text field it just continues to type further horizontaly. I can start a new line by pressing enter but I would like it to start a new line on its own when it reaches the boundary. Any help is appreciated.

Have LR5.3 on a Windows 7 machine. Have SSD for programs and usual HD for pictures. Want to have LR catalogues on my SSD rather than default Pictures folder (on the HD). How do I move them to SSD and have LR find them and use that as a default hereafter?

Using your operating system, move the LR Catalog (*.LRCAT file) to whatever disk and folder you want them to be in. Then double-click on the catalog file.

Hello userlarry, do you have Mobile Me? You could use that. Or you could compress them, you would still need to send them in an email, but it would help with size limitations of emails.
To compress them, put them in a folder and right click on the folder. You should see a Compress option. Then just drag the .zip file into your mail.
