Moving purchased music on ipad

I purchased a song from iTunes on my iPad and want to move it to a playlist on the same iPad. Can this be done without going into iTunes?

I bought some music on my iPad and can't seem to get it on my iPhone via iCloud. Any help?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.

    Hello Mariola,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iTunes purchases.  I recommend downloading your purchases directly to your computer using the Purchases page in the iTunes Store:
Download previous iTunes Store purchases to an authorized computer
Click iTunes Store near the top of the iTunes window.
Click the Purchased link at the right of the iTunes Store homepage (below Quick Links).
In the page that appears, select a category.
iTunes shows you which of your purchases are available for download. You can view all of your past purchases, or just the ones not currently in your iTunes library. Items already in your library aren’t available for download. If you select Music, you can view your purchases by song, artist, or album. If you’re viewing by album, click an album to see which songs on it are available for downloading.
To download all available items, click Download All.

  • Deleting purchased music from ipad

If I delete purchased music from ipad will it remain in iTunes Match given that I did not delete from iCloud?

Yes, the tracks will remain in the cloud. It is not possible to delete tracks from the cloud on an iOS device.

  • Do I have to "enable" icloud on PC to get already purchased music on ipad?

Does anyone know if I can just login to itunes from my ipad from the same itunes/apple id that I used on my pc....and download already purchased music from my account? OR do I have to install the icloud control panel on my PC first to "enable" icloud..... THEN I get the already purchased music on my ipad?

No, the iCloud control panel does not need to be installed on your PC to redownload purchased music, apps etc. You will need at least iOS 4.3.3 or later on your device to redownload your purchases directly to your iPad.
See here for how to download past purchases:

  • Moving purchased music from one account to another account

So I just purchased my first macbook. I am trying to figure out my next step in transfering my music. I am not worried about most of the music I want to transfer, as I can easily move it via thumb drive. My question pertains the purchased music specifically. I do not want to keep the same itunes account id as when I purchased the songs initially. (I was 15, long time ago. I would like to start fresh.) There aren't many songs that I purchased, and I probably won't want all moved, but I do not want to repurchase the songs again.
Is there any way I can get those songs onto my new mac, from my old and dying dell, without having to authorize use of a computer by an old account?
Would simply transfering via thumb drive work, or is there any other way I can go about doing this without losing about 100 or so songs that I spent money on?
I really do not want to keep the old itunes account id (I don't even have access to that email anymore), and have made a new one already.
Thank you to all in advance.

Do you want duplicated copies in both accounts? (that would be a terrible waste of space). The best way to avoid that would be to move your iTunes Music folder to the Shared folder on your Mac (Users/Shared). Then change your iTunes Preferences to point iTunes at this new location.
The other account should launch iTunes, then do the same thing.
You will now have a situation where the two accounts have separate iTunes Library database files (for playlists etc), but are using the same music folder. It is likely that only the original account will have read/write privileges to the actual music however.

  • Purchased music on Macbook Pro does not agree with the purchased music on iPad.

I have current versions of all software. And just bought a new iPad. When examining purchased music in iTunes on my MacBook Pro, it is pointing to current purchases over the past few years. But when examining purchases in iTunes on new iPad, it is pointing to very old purchases made several years ago. The purchases to do not agree - they are not in sync. I want them both to be in sync, or at least have both devices point to the current purchase list. Thanks in advance.

I have my iPhone attached via USB cable to my MacBook Pro.
I have been able to successfully sync my calendar now by activating iCloud on my iPhone and via System Preferences on my MacBook Pro after I learned that Maverick does not provide iSync.
However, I have a new problem: The calendar does not "upgrade" (it gets stuck) and I receive a "403" error and it gets stuck in a loop that I have to force quit. I have looked that up in the forum, but wasn't able to solve this issue because the solutions are way to technical and out of my league.
Very disappointed development as removing calendar from iCloud now also deletes all my entries on the Mac.

  • Moving purchased music from Playbook to PC - then to Itunes

so - when I plug my playbook into my computer, I can move music from my computer or Itunes to playbook - but I can't see my playbook purchased music in my Z drive (playbook plugged into computer) - what gives?  I can play it and see it on he playbook, and I can see all my other uploaded music....but not my purchased stuff.  How do I do this?

When I connect to the computer I have no problem copying my music from the playbook to to pc.

  • Moving purchased music from Yahoo Music Jukebox to Itunes...

    Hi,
Is there a way to drag and drop music purchased from Yahoo Music Jukebox to Itunes purchased music too? I bought one album for an artist on Yahoo and another album for the same artist on Itunes. I want to move the music so I can create a cd. Can I do this? Thanks.
    Debbie

Sorry but no, that's probably not possible. Only iTunes can burn tracks that were purchased from the iTunes Store if they're copy protected, and then they can only be burned to an audio CD and you won't get 33 tracks on a single audio CD. Only if the tracks are iTunes Plus and hence not protected could they be converted to a format the Yahoo jukebox would accept (probably MP3).

  • Can't import purchased music from iPad to MacBook Pro's iTunes

I bought and downloaded classical music albums to my MacBook Pro's iTunes.  They have also apparently been automatically synced onto my iPad's iTunes.  Then I purchased and downloaded successfully four classical albums to iPad's iTunes.  But when I manually synced the iPad's iTunes with the Mac's iTunes, only one of the four paid albums was fully transferred so it can be played from the MacBook Pro's iTunes.  The other three albums only show notices in Mac Book Pro's iTunes that they are "purchased", but there are no digital files that can produce sound.  How can I get the digital music files of these purchased albums to be downloaded onto the MacBook Pro's iTunes so they can be played there?

Yes you can. Connect your iPad to your computer, open iTunes, select your device on the left side, right click on the name of your iPad and you can select transfer purchases.
You must authorize your computer as well in iTunes from the menu at the top under Store.

  • Purchasing music from Ipad within Itunes

I had purchased a song, downloaded it and then could not find in my Ipad. I went to download again and ended up having to buy the song again. I ended up connecting to my computer and downloading the song this way. Anyone know what I might have done wrong and / or what happened? Never had a problem with my Iphone when I purchased songs from my phone. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you.

Hello, I don't know if your problem still persists, however something similar happened to me recently.
I've bought a song directly from the iPad but, as soon as the download was over, just coldn't find it on the "Purchased" section of the iPad itself. I've complained with the iTunes store, they allowed me a second, free, download, but the result was the same: download ok, but not a clue of the song on tbe iPad.
What I actually did was to perform a sync with my laptop. Surprisingly enough the song was first transferred from the iPad to the laptop and then back to the iPad so that now it properly displays in the "Purchased" playlist of the iPad.
    Hope this helps

  • My purchased music on ipad is not showing up on iphone

I bout music on my ipad but its not showing up on my iphone like it says it should thru icloud. Everything was set up correctly but no music on iphone! :-( what do I do?

Yes, that would be the problem.
If I recall (I'm typing this on my iPad and don't have my iPhone availabile at the moment,) you need to go to Settings->App Store->Change Apple ID.
Or some other variant of that.

  • Moving purchased music from ipod

I purchased some music from the iTunes store but didn't back it up.
It's still on my iPod, but now not on my computer.
How can I get it from my iPod back on to my iTunes? (iPod is set to automatic update)
    Any help greatly appreciated

Well you hold shift and ctrl, WHILE HOLDING THEM connect the ipod and let go only after itunes opens and list the ipod. THis stops an auto update.
Now in iTUnes, goto edit>preferences>ipod and set the ipod to "Manual update" to get it ready for third party software.
Now close iTunes and use yamipod http://www.yamipod.com or Podutil http://www.kennettnet.co.uk/software/podutil.php to copy them back
Yamipod is totally free and will copy the songs. Podutil is shareware/trailware and you can use there program for free to copy the songs along with all the playcounts, playlist if your library is blank or something

  • Moving purchased music and files from old computer to new computer.

My old computer was recently stolen and on it I had quite alot of music that I had purchased from the itunes store. Is there anyway to recover some of the music that I have purchased through the itunes store and put it on the itunes on my new computer?

If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link you'll be able to email your query: Customer Service - iTunes Store Support
If you have an iPod that still has any of your purchases on it you'll find details in this article on how to transfer them to the computer: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
