Moving Raid0 stripe from sata 1&2 to 3&4

Like topic says, I wanna move my raid0 stripe from sata1&2 to 3&4, I'm pretty new to raid setups so I tought I'd ask first if it's possible without losing data & still beyin able to boot from that array. Also some info on how it should be done would be nice I have everything backed up just in case, but don't really feel like reinstalling xp if not needed.
edit: This is on the MSI K8N Neo & I have 2 WD 120GB sata drives

Thanks for all the info guys, so I decided to make the move then and all went pretty good. Moving the array didn't need any more setting up, just hooked'm up to the other 2 ports in the right order and it was detected without any more configuration in the raid bios.
Tho I made 1 little mistake the first time, I had sata3&4 disabled before in bios so when I switched my array and tried to boot windows it just kept crashing & rebooting because it didn't have the drivers loaded. So I switched back to 1&2 enabled 3&4 in bios let the drivers install in winxp, rebooted, switched to 3&4 again and it worked like a charm.
Now let's see if I can overclock this baby a bit
And good luck to the others who are going to switch, it went almost problem free for me but always make that backup just in case.

Does anyone know if my array will be intact if I switch the SATA ports I am using. Currently using the ones down by Bios reset jumper, and would like to use the ones above the AGP slot for better overclocking.

Not so good news. I did not have the raid 3 and 4 enabled in the bios. I enabled them and rebooted with the array still on 1 and 2. Windows found the new controller and I shut down. Placed the array on 3 and 4 and rebooted. Up came windows and all was fine. Now on 3 and 4. Overclocked a little bit and system froze up. I shut down and was going to try again using clock gen, but the OS would no longer load. I tried it on both sata ports and no go. I finally had to delete the raid array and start from scratch. Kinda pisses me off. I have never had this issue with other boards SATA ports. I understand the issues with this board and know that by being an early adopter these kinds of issues will crop up....but damm it. I have put enough time into this setup already and now I have to reinstall everything once more. Time to ghost the array. I am not going through this again. I hope that the next bios update clears some of this crap up.

I don't see anything in Help that shows when you already have transfered all the files over. Why would it want to erase and sync when I already have all the music folder copied over? I didn't have an issue when I had another technician copy from one laptop to another. Home sharing is also on but not being recognized.

I suspect you only migrated the media folder instead of the complete working library. Either review the transfer process and copy over the entire iTunes folder from your old profile's music folder or see Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID.

Until you get a UK bank account and credit card, buy and redeem UK iTunes gift cards for use in the iTunes and Mac App Stores. But you need to switch your region/country to the UK store in your account information, as you can't use UK iTunes gift cards in the Irish stores, the gift cards are country specific.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then seeRecover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

How do I delete a folder that I moved to Trash from my external backup drive when a virus was detected? Trash will not delete the folder.

I have tried unsuccessfully to remove a folder from Trash. My anti-virus program (Sophos) detected a virus which had to be manually removed. I tried (unsuccessfully) to find and remove the infected file. I moved the Folder from my external backup drive and placed it in Trash. Now I cannot get Trash to delete the folder. It asks me if I wish to delete "unlocked" or "all" items. Either selection does not delete the folder. I went to change the permissions to "read & write" and unlocked the folder, but it is still there. I tried to "move" the folder from Trash back to the external harddrive but it seems I can only "copy" it and not "move" it. I am afraid that by copying it, I will not have the folder in two locations (Trash & External HD).
Would appreciate any suggestions and guidance on this. I hope that I have explained the problem clearly!

Before deleting it we should know more about this folder and its contents.
If it is invected and is using other apps, or other apps are still using it, then it cannot be deleted in the normal manner.
You might contact Sophos and ask them about it.
If you are using TM or have a backup of your system before the infection occurred, then you can delete the item(s) in Trash, but there is the possiblity of system corruption and the need for a reinstall, if any of these files are necessary for the OS to work properly, even though they are infected.
Sophos may not have been able to remove the infection from inside a file which is why they suggested manual removal.
You might consider downloading and running ClamXav first and see if it can't do better than Sophos.
All that being said, you can always remove the contents of the Trash using the terminal. Usually as administrator, or in some cases as root (su). Unless you are very familiar with the terminal I do not suggest doing this without some study.

Moved iTunes library from old computer (PC Windows 7) to new (PC Window 8) using external hard drive. Library listing shows all music but can only play a fraction of it. On the ones it cannot play it asks to locate, then refers to an archived version (an .itl file), and still cannot play them. Do I just need to copy the archived .itl over, or is that not where the actual media are (do the actual media files even exist on the new computer?)? Any advice or information on this would be helpful.

*Also...is there any way I can filter out all the tracks with the ! so I can delete the unplaying copies as they're taking up room in my iTunes? I know how to find duplicates, but then I have to go and delete each one individually...*

Im thinking of moving from a NAS200 to one of the newer models with Gigabit. Can I move the drives from the NAS200 to the newer models without having to reformat?

Hi Jorge,
Moving a drive from NAS200 to NMH will reformat the drive because they are using a different file system. You should back-up your data first before moving the drive. Check out this linksys article: KB17899 - Swapping Hard Disk Drives between NAS200 and NMH Series Media Hub.

Do some testing to get your method working right with some less than important footage.
Copy/paste files where you want then.
Use the FCE Reconnect feature to tell FCE where the newly copied files reside.
Make sure the new location and files are working as expected with your Projects.
Delete the original files if no longer required.

Try opening iTunes preferences. Then click on advanced tab. Then uncheck "Copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to library." By default, iTunes copies music to its own media folder when you use iTunes to play the music.
