Moving songs around in playlists

I have several playlists set up in iTunes. Is there any way to manually move the songs within these playlists so that I can have them play in the order I want?
I have tried to drag them and it does not work, and I have also right-clicked to see if there is a "move up" or "move down" option and there is not.
Thanks

Unfortunately..... doing that did NOT work for me.
I only have 4 playlists. In 3 out of 4 I can move the sounds around.... in the 4th I can't. And mysteriously.... the song order re-arranged itslef recently in that same playlist.
Any ideas or suggestions?

  • Why does my iphone 4 keep moving songs around by itself in my playlist?

I specifically have songs where I want them to be placed in my playlist, but my iphone keeps on moving the songs around within the playlist by itself. I don't get why? How do I stop it?

Like, my iphone is jumbling up the order of all my songs in the playlist.
It's annoying because I have to find where each song had to be placed and put them back in its position.

  • Moving songs around in itunes playlists

I cannot move songs around in my itunes Playlists. what setting do i need to change so i can do this?

Click on the header bar for the numbers column on the extreme left. It should change colour and a little triangle should appear.
Now you can move songs around to different positions.

I am working on a PC and trying to move songs around within the playlists and cannot figure out how to do so on my PC.  Can someone help?

Click the heading of the left-most column of numbers. This is the Play Order. Once selected you can drag songs up and down the list.

  • Moving songs around on iPod no longer works with upgrade to iTunes 7

    Hi.
I just upgraded iTunes 6 to 7 on Win XP. I used to be able to move songs around on my iPod, but I can no longer do this with the newer version. All of my songs have now been rearranged in a different order than it was originally and I can no longer rearrange them.
Is this a known bug? Is there something I don't know about the new version? I've scanned all the menus and cannot determine if and how this can be done.
    Thanks!

  • Ipod control folder (f drive) pops up when moving songs on ipod playlist

Every time I reorganize a song on my playlist, the ipod control folder pops up (showing my f drive - usb port). Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you. Unfortunately that doesn't solve my problem of being able to rearrange directly on the shuffle list (which I should be able to).

  • Whycan't  i move songs manually  around in playlists

why can't i manually move songs around in playlist

I assume you mean, having a playlist of say 10 tracks and moving the track in position 10 to 5.
Are they manually managed playlists or smart playlists?
If you have them sorted by number there should be no problem, if they're sorted by Name/Time/Rating as far as I know you can't move them out of that order.

  • Changing multiple songs on a playlist causes app to crash?

Whenever I have a playlist that I want to delete around 10 songs from and I start deleting them, the Music App crashes and the playlist is returned to how it was before I started editing it. This also happens if I move songs around and then delete some songs. The original song order is restored. Anyone else experiencing this?

I haven't tried deleting multiple songs from a playlist, but I'm experiencing the same issue with moving songs around within a playlist.  I move them to where I want them, but they don't stay there!  Ugh!

  • How can I automatically randomise the song order of playlists?

In previous versions of iTunes I would hit shuffle on a playlist and all the songs would change order - which was beyond convenient when creating 6-hour-long party playlists after dragging in the desired albums and songs. Then you could 'copy to play order' to leave the playlist in this shuffled state. On the new iTunes it seems not to have this option - it only lets you manually drag each song around the playlist, which is silly when the playlist gets towards a hundred songs. Is there any way now to automatically shuffle/randomise the song list?

On the Mac, this feature is enabled in Pages ’09 via the Preferences panel and Auto-Correction > Fix Capitalization. In Pages v5.2, this feature is not yet implemented. You will have to relearn use of the shift key.

  • I can't drag and drop the songs around in a playlist I made

I just made a new playlist and for some reason I can't drag and drop the songs around to change the order. I have two other playlists and I can drag and drop the songs in those playlists just fine. How can I fix this?

Select the first column before the track title.

  • Moving songs in playlists

why is it that I can move songs around in all of my playlists except for one did a setting get changed and I did not know that this happened?

Look in the header row of the problem playlist.
You need to have a little black triangle in the extreme left hand column. If it's somewhere else, click in the left hand column of the header row.
    You also need shuffle off.
