Moving Student/Teach Edition to new computer

Hi,
I have the Student/Teacher edition of Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection CS5 (Mac).  Works great.  However, I have been informed that in the new school year, I will be receiving a new computer!  Am I permitted to deactivate and uninstall it from my old machine, then install and activate it on the new machine?
I read through the licensing agreement and can't quite tell through the legalese if this is permitted.
Thanks.

Under the help menu in all of the CS applications you'll find a deactivate command. It will deactive the suite no matter which app you use it from.
You can then install and activate on your new computer.

My computer Recently crashed and my Adobe CS5.5 Student and Teacher Edition Disk was damaged last year.   I want to re-download CS5.5 and then enter my serial Number so I can have it on my newly restored / repaired computer again how do I do this?

  • How can I get a new serial key for Photoshop Lightroom 4 student & teacher edition?

I bought a new laptop, and I Lost my serial key to my copy of Lightroom 4 student & teach edition. If somebody can help me, that would be great

If you took the time to register Lightroom with Adobe then you can log into your Adobe account and get your serial number from there. If you still have the old computer with Lightroom installed on it the serial number can be retrieved from C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Lightroom. Open the lrreg file using Notepad and you can read the number. Note that the ProgramData folder is a hidden folder. It will be necessary for you to change so that your system browser will show hidden folders. If you are on a Mac the path is /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom.

    Yes.

You have a permanent serial number from when you did this the first time and that is all that is required.

  • How do I move a Student and Teacher edition from one computer to another?

I have looked in Help but there is no mention of de-activation and I did consult on Chat but they said go to the forums.

There is no activation process with Lightroom. Once you have received your serial number for your student/teacher edition, you treat Lightroom the same as any other version. You install Lightroom on the other computer and use that serial number that begins with the digits 1160 to activate it. Don't try to download the creative cloud version and install it because you cannot activate it with a serial number.

  • Student/teacher edition CS5 re-install on new OS

Purchased student/teacher edition of CS5 a couple of years ago.  Updated computer from Windows XP to Windows 7 and tried to re-install CS5.  Get error message "The serial number is not valid for this product."  Help?!

How did you upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7?  Did you format the computer and then install Windows 7?  Also do you have any other Adobe Creative Software installed on your computer?

  • Can I install CS5 student teacher edition without using the disk on my 2nd computer as I do not have a disk drive

I have CS5 student and teacher edition. I have a CD. I want to install it onto my mac book pro (2nd computer), can I do this without using the disk.

Thanks very much, well I'm still struggling.
The link kind of worked [took a couple of hours ] but then I wasn't able to fully install it, it said it was partially installed and I didn't know where to go from there. A red disk appeared on my desk top, I clicked it and another window appeared but then I couldn't do anything with it. It said I had to access the download manager but I don't know what a download manager is, it certainly isn't where my documents download to.
My original CD is for student teacher edition which I still fall under, I have a serial number for that edition.
If you are able to shed any further light on this I would be very grateful.

  • Serial number is invalid when trying to install Creative Suite 6 (Student/Teacher Edition) on my new mac?

I have deactivated CS6 on my old laptop, but every time I try to enter the serial number to re-activate it tells me that it is invalid. Is there a period of time that I have to wait before it becomes able to be activated again? It's been about 24 hours. Or could the problem be that it was previously installed on a PC, but now I have upgraded to a mac? Is there any way to fix this? Please help! Thank you!

Normally a PC serial number is not valid for a Mac version.  I don't know if the following holds for Student/Teacher editions though there should be something similar...

  • CS5 Student & Teacher Editions & Commercial use (in Australia)

specifically student editions not educational version.
I know that in CS4, commercial use is only valid in the USA.
It looks like the older "education version" is no more in CS5 and is replaced? by "Student & Teacher Edition".
I have read in the FAQ from the USA Adobe website that this is allowed for commercial use:
    http://www.adobe.com/education/students/studentteacheredition/faq.html
I have also seen the UK Adobe site that it is allowed for commercial use:
    http://www.adobe.com/uk/education/students/studentteacheredition/faq.html
the image is broken on this link. is this just a template that has been copied over from the USA website? or is this the official thing?
I am from Australia and the FAQ has not been updated and still shows information for CS4.
clicking on FAQ from this link on the australian site of Adobe links to the CS4 FAQ:
    http://www.adobe.com/ap/education/solutions/students/studentteacheredition/
    which is this link: http://www.adobe.com/ap/education/students/studentedition/faq.html
though after some digging I have found the Australian link to the new FAQ but it also has a broken image and im not exactly sure if its the read thing or just a template again:
    http://www.adobe.com/ap/education/students/studentteacheredition/faq.html
    they all state:
Can a student or teacher use the Adobe Student and Teacher Edition software for commercial use?
Yes. Those who purchase this product can use it for personal as well as commercial use.
I havent found anything about "only in north america" stuff.
anyway, i would assume that any purchase of CS4 now would have a free upgrade to CS5, right?
If i purchase CS4 student edition (which here in australia isnt allowed for commercial use) and then get a free upgrade to CS5 (student & teacher edition (i would assume this would be the version CS4 student edition would get for the free upgrade? and assuming that commercial use of CS5 is now allowed in Australia for Student & Teacher Edition) would that mean that I can now use my CS4 student edition that was originally not allowed for commercial use then now be allowed for commercial use when upgraded to CS5 student & teacher edition?
I hope that makes sense and doesnt confuse too much.
I also posted up a thread about my eligibility if im a student that has finished classes and waiting to just graduate now. I was wondering if I may still be considered an eligible student to purchase.

Hi, I think I have found an answer to this but I would still like to have it confirmed by someone from Adobe (please).
    I found a post at http://www.hellophoto.co.nz/showthread.php?3223-Lightroom-3-is-now-out&p=32387#post32387
Where someone in the forum says they contacted Adobe NZ about this:
I asked Adobe about the answer to the question about commercial useage - this was the reply I got
This has caused some confusion as we have recently
changed the policy around this. You are correct that it used to just be
in the US however in CS5 we have changed this to be the case for all
    regions.
In NZ Student and Teacher licenses can be used
for commercial use both during study and after students or teachers have
finished/left. I.e. a teacher can do freelance work on the side and
still be eligible for the student and teacher pricing.
When the next version of CS is released students
who have finished their studies or teachers who have left the institute
can upgrade to a commercial version at the upgrade price.
We do not require them to upgrade so if they wish
they can stay on CS5 indefinitely, when they do decide to upgrade they
will need to purchase a commercial license. We have tiered upgrade
pricing though so it works out cheaper for them if they do upgrade
    straight away.
The main condition for Student and teacher is
that it is installed on a private computer so cannot be installed at an
institute (school, uni or poly). Instead, educational institutions must
    purchase the Education version.
Student and teacher licenses are for home use on
private computers for educational or commercial purposes for that one
person. There is no serial number in the box and verification is
    required.
Educational licenses are for use on an education
institute’s (schools, unis or polys) computers, this is for educational
use only and does not include commercial use. Single teachers should not be purchasing this type of license, the only people who should be buying educational licenses are educational institutions.
I teach Photoshop and Illustrator at a Uni in Australia and would really like to be able to tell students if they can use the Student and Teacher editions for commercial use - If the above is true I think this is a very clever move by Adobe but it would be really good if they made it a bit clearer.

  • Student/Teacher edition for commercial use?

I received the student/teacher version of the CS6 Master collection from my school which I am currently enrolled at and I have recently started a production company with some colleagues and will be heavily using Premier Pro, After Effects and other applications for our business. We will be making money for our services so my question is will it be ok for me to use the student/teacher edition or will I need to get a CC subscription for commercial use?
    Thanks!
    Richard

is will it be ok for me to use the student/teacher edition
    Yes.
    Best explained here:
    http://prodesigntools.com/difference-between-adobe-cs5-student-editions-vs-regular.html
"Since Creative Suite 5, all Student and Teacher Editions can be utilized for personal as well as commercial use, for all academic customers worldwide. So yes, you can sell your services or anything you create, or use these products in developing a side business or online venture. And after graduation or completion of coursework, you can continue to use the perpetual software on your personal systems; there is no usage expiration and those tools will continue to work."
    Adobe's version: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/education-faq.html
"Can I use Student and Teacher Edition products commercially?
Yes, Student and Teacher Edition products can be used commercially on your privately owned computer. They may not be resold."

  • Lightroom 4 - Registering Student & Teacher Edition

I need to register and obtain a password for Adobe Photoshop Lightroon 4 - Student Teacher Edition for my step-son (DOB: 23 Nov 1995), however the instructions given with the software are not clear to me about how I should do this.  I have an electronic copy of his Student Card.  Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hi Jim, Thanks for the information about registering Lightroom 4: student edition.  I did eventually manage to work it out myself, however the information provided by Adobe was very confusing. Regards

Packaged with the student/teacher edition is a little yellow card.  On that card there's a web site referred to.  When you go to that website you will be asked to provide certain information to verify that you qualify for the student/teacher edition and discount.  When that is verified you'll be asked to enter the code included with your Lightroom package.  It looks like a standard serial number.  After that number has been verified, along with all of the other information you are asked to provide, you will receive an e-mail with your serial number that you use to activate Lightroom.

  • I re-installed my Photoshop Elements 10 Student & Teacher Edition

    hello,
I just re-installed my Photoshop Elements 10 Student & Teacher Edition which i bought last year.
When I installed it first, I ordered a serial number for the product - but I don´t have this number already.
Do I need a new serial number?
    Regards
    Roman

A re-install on the same machine should not need a new serial number.  If on new machine, or formatted hard drive you will need serial number.

  • I've heard 2 things:  1)that you can only register the cs5 Student Teacher edition once  2) that you can register the cs5 Student Teacher edition to up to 2 devices. Which one is true?

I need to transfer my Adobe Cs5 software (Student Teacher edition) and license from my old Mac Book Pro to a newer Mac Air. I've heard 2 things:
1)that you can only register the cs5 Student Teacher edition once
2)that you can register the cs5 Student Teacher edition to up to 2 devices
Which one is true? How do I transfer the software and software license?

Regardless of what heard you can do registration-wise, which you only need to do once, you are allowed to have two activated installations.  There is no limit to how many times you might activate an installation, but you can only maintain two activated installations at a time.  So if you have two machines you can have the software installed and activated on both.  If you get a new (third) machine tyhen you would have to deactivate one of the other two machines' installations in order to activate/use the sfotware on the newest one.

  • Loading Student/Teacher Edition of CS 5.5 Onto an External Hard Drive

I am a student; therefore, I use whatever computer is available in the lab.  Is it possible for me to load my Student/Teacher edition of Creative Suite 5.5 onto an external hard drive so that I can use it on whichever computer I get assigned in the lab.  I have an iMac in my room, but I do a lot of work in the lab, so  I want to have my software with me.

No. The activation is tied to the computer and specific components are always installed to the system drive, anyway.
