Moving The Chief Including Direct Reports to Another Org Unit

Dear Expertise,
We have a request to move the manager including his direct reports employees to a different org unit.
I'm looking for a way to achieve this through function module.
Can anyone shred some light or if any Standard FM available to reuse?

certainly I do not believe there is any standard code for doing this.
Are you trying to code up an application that lets you do this? If so, the have a look at the decoupled infotype framework classes (CL_HRBAS_* ) for maintaining OM infotypes - you could use these to delimit the old relationships and create new ones in the target org unit.
In particular have a look at class - CL_HRBAS_PLAIN_INFOTYPE_ACCESS.
if you're just looking for an easy way to do it - lots of dragging and dropping in PPOME would probably be the easiest!

I have a task of changing the employees, Positions & Jobs, from one Organization Unit to another Org unit, in the OM. I have around 50 position & Jobs and employees to be moved. Please suggest me how do I go about.

First of all I recommend to open a new discussion and not to post in a old-date one.
Anyway, You can do it either PA40 or OOPME.
In PA40 you should select an appropriate action like :Org. Change", "Promotion" and so on. In fact it depends what do you have in you action list.
In PPOME you can do it by drag and drop also. Just take care about effective date. First you should select the right date in top of the screen.

Moving Employee Org Unit to Another Org Unit

I need to move this employee from Manager (Org Unit A) to another Manager (Org Unit B). Would editing the Org Unit number or changing the Org Unit number work. Thanks for your indepth reply. I guess there is some steps involved based on your ans.
Per your answer: in PA, you create the Action for reassignment and take into consideration the possible changes to Quotas, Benefits, etc... is there anyway to keep prior info/configured data and bypass these steps - copy/paste/dragg feature to the new org structure- so data stays the same and no other possible changes occur. I understand that position is linked to Org Unit. I can copy the position to the new Org/and then assign the position to the new Org Unit. Does the record automatically get delimited(prior record). Are there any additional steps to verify the data validity and that this employee got reassigned properly.
Also how would I test the change before transf. it to production.

Go to transaction PO13, select the positions, select Relationships, create, enter start date, relationship A 003, related object O, select new organizational unit and save.

Permitting a Manager of one org unit access to another org unit

Hi,
I have a problem with the use of relationships between the position and org units.
If a manager has an A012 relationship to org unit 123, but should be able to view & approve leave for employees from another org unit 456.
Is it possible to have a different relationship to org unit 456? To provide access to employees who are not part of the managers direct reporting structure.

1. Create a separate relationship for the special access.
2. You might need to add the new relationship to evaluation path
3. If you are using MSS and need to display this, that evaluation path needs to be updated
4. Structural authorization profile needs to be updated
5. Role needs to be updated. Context senstive authorization needs to be activated and PA authorization + structure abc, PA authorization + structure xyz needs to be added to the role

Shift Org unit to another Org unit

Hi Experts,
I am trying to move one orgnaizational unit to another Org unit. The case is given below:
Orgniazational Unit : "Stb Std" > under source : "INJ" org unit. and also I want to make it with effect from 01/07/2011.
Cost Center is not inherited of "INJ" org unit.
Emp with position is already assigned under "Stb Std" unit.
I want to delimit the unit on said date in destination Org unit "CQA".
When i am delimiting the "Stb std" unit on 01/07/2011, it is not maintianing any previous record history.
I am expecting below mentioned records after moving unit to destination:
Org unit : "STB STD" under source unit :"INJ" , Start Date :01/01/01999 , End date : 30/06/2011
Org unit : "STB STD " under destination unit : "CQA" , Start Date : 01/07/2011, End date : 31/12/9999
I want to keep relationship of positions and cost center as it is.
Kindly help me to resolve it.

I don't think we could give 50 for the priority because the data is overlapped if the start date and end date between two objects are same. For Relationship A002 Reports (line) to, we couldn't fill the weighting percentage too. I think you can use another another relationship A/B 262 Reports to. Is it exactly reports to two org. units or there is a priority reporting and additional reporting? If both are priority reporting, I think you can use matrix organization.

Unassign users from a Org unit and reassign to another org unit

Hello Friends,
There are users in my org who are already assinged to a org unit through USERS_GEN transaction (from SU01 users) and are creating shopping carts for the past four months without any issue.
Now there is a requirement to assign few of the users to another org unit.
I have created that org unit but not sure how to reassign it to a new org unit.
I am new to SRM. Any help will be appreciated.

In that link it has been mentioned that users can be unassigned from a org unit through USERS_GEN txn or drag and drop.
I already unassigned a user by clicking on delete assignment in PPOSA_BBP. While I am trying to reassign the user through USERS_GEN to new org unit, I am getting the error: Central Person for this user already exists with E BBPU_MESSAGES 042 &.
After going through some of the threads I realized that I should not do like that for deleting a assignment.
Also I found one thread which is telling that ....new org unit has to be selected and then by clicking on the Assign button --> Incorporates..Postion.. a user can be reassigned.
Is it a right way to do that.... I don know how to unassign using USERS_GEN txn.
Also it would be great if you could help me to resolve the above error.
Please guide me.

Org unit reporting to multiple Org units

We have set the A002 relationship as time constraint 002 and the B002 is set up as time constriant 3 but we are still able assign the org unit to report to multiple org units. Can you please let me know how to fix this issue.

User inconsistencies when re-assigning users to another org. unit

I am getting error messages whenever i re-assign a user to another org. unit. I use drag and drop. When I check the user with users_gen I get 3 different error messages. I try the repair but the repair does not work. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Does anyone know any notes that can be used to fix this?
We are on extended classic, SRM 5.0

Please check for non-inherited values. We maintain values at the org unit level, so that when we drag/drop a user to another org unit, most to all of the values are re-inherited. You can which ones are by the inherited flag.
See if that is your problem.

Hi,
In SAP there is one-to-one relationship maintained in the system. In your case you want one org unit should report to 2 Org units, which is not possible as per my knowledge.
The relation betwn thm will be A-002 (Reports to), also if you try to maintain the same for both the Org units then it will ask to delete one of the relationship in the system.

How to copy the positions and their relationships of one org.unit to other

f there about 20 organization units among which 6 org.units have same positions and same relationships ,i know that we can create one org.units and their relationships among 6 similar org.units and then copy the same position and relationships to other 5 org.units as well instead of individually creating positions and assigning relationships to them which results in wasting a quality time.but i dont know how to copy it? so please help me by informing me in details how to copy the positions n their relationships to other org units.

This may sound like a bit of a pain in the *** but why not save the channel strip settings into your own folder then that way you can open them up in other songs and you have some channel strips to try out when you cant find anything else to fit. Plus its fun to open up lots of different audio onto the tracks and see what the effects sound like, Brian Eno style.....

write the submit statement as SUBMIT ZREPORT1 AND RETURN in ZREPORT2 program..
If you dont execute the ZREPORT1 independently then its better you write that in a ZINCLUDE... and
include that in your second program where ever necessary..
for that check this...

I would rather suggest to go for the second method that is _ Specifying ZINCLUDE_ coz for the first one.. you need to
have data declarations and which is not necessary for just a simple select query.. if you are processing
any further in the first program then go for the first method_( SUBMIT STATEMENT)_ by declaring the necessary variables..
This would solve your issue...

How to use the data from 1 report in another report?

Hello All
I have a data model like the following:
Physical and logical join the same as below:
Dim1 <--- Fact 1 ---> Dim2 <-- Fact 2 --> Dim3
Now I have 1 report (Report A) which is out of Dim1 <--- Fact 1 ---> Dim2
and another report (Report B) which is out of Dim2 <-- Fact 2 --> Dim3
Now the measure from report A needs to be divided by the measure from Report B.
What's the best way to achieve this?

Thank you for the reply. Actually, this approach you mentioned may not work. I forgot to mention, that although the data model was simple, but for each report, the filtering conditions were quite complicated.
So in other words, after all of the complex filtering, aggregation, I was finally able to get the correct number from report 1, which is summed and displayed, and it's only 1 row. Report 2's values are summed the filtered differently, but it returns multiple values.
So now, I wish I can just take what I can visually see from report 1 in the dashboard and divide it with each row of report 2 in the dashboard. Is there a way to do this kind of thing in 11G?
