Moving the point where my BT line enters the house

Hello all,
I would like to upgrade to Infinity 2. My current BT hub is connected to a socket in the living room with my PC upstairs connecting wirelessly. The property used to be 2 flats and the old disconnected phone socket (approx 2 years old) is next to where my pc now sits. Will the engineer move the point at which the phone cable enters the house from its current position to upstairs. Our freesat box connects to current home hub so to continue using iplayer can the engineer run an extension outside the house from the new master socket back to the socket downstairs.
Will this be done within the installtion costs or will i be charged extra.
I don't want to use wireless from downstairs to upstairs as we currently experience poor signal and would like to utilise the Infinity speeds available.

They can run a data extension kit (which is just cat5 network cable) up to 30m from the existing master socket position to your chosen location within reason which doesn't generally include drilling holes, or running externally.

We woudl like to have the phone line moved so that it enters the house in a different location. Could someone give us an indication of costs involved so we can decide it it is more cost effective to use internal wiring or not.

You would have to contact your service provider first, they would request a visit from Openreach, who would in turn do the work.
It is difficult to guess what the charges would be, but I would suspect they start at about £130.

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print or save PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to do so by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar should appear under the cursor. Click the printer or disk icon.
Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and check the box marked
          Allow Plug-ins
Then click
          Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
Step 5
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others—I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
Step 6
Do as in Step 4 with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

Possible to create a second handle on a point without moving the first one?

Just had a question about something that often drives me crazy. Sometimes when I'm modifying an object (especially text that has been turned into outlines for logos etc) There are points on the path that I want/need to remove. Many of the times the points I'm removing had part of the curve that made the path look nice and smooth. For some reason Illustrator likes to create two points overlapping each other with a handle extending in opposite directions for each instead of one point with two handles...
In the cases where I have a point on a path with only one handle, whether it overlaps another point or not, is there a way to create a new handle on the opposite side where a handle doesn't exist without moving the handle that is already there? I hate fiddling with the path for 10 minutes afterwards trying to get everything back into the same position again. I would like to be able to drag out a new handle while locking the old handle in place, but the initial behavior of the convert anchor point tool seems to be to get rid of the old existing handle and recreate two new handles which resets everything.
Is there a way around this? A tool behavior option or maybe even a different tool that will let me just add the one handle to the point that is missing without moving or deleting the existing handle on that point? If it matters I'm using Illustrator CS5.5. Thanks for any help in advance!

Thanks for the responses guys! Unless someone comes along with a completely native Illustrator solution I think the Pathscribe tool is what I'm looking for. The unify command in that other post sounds like just the thing for the randomd weirdness Illustrator does when you convert text to outlines etc. and I'll probably mostly use that method for the overlapping points that are created in those case. I would say close to 50% of the time though I need to add a handle to a point that isn't overlapping like where a letter shape curves on one side but is straigh on the other. I guess a good example of that would maybe tip of the "v" shape in stylized or script fonts, they often have a straigh side and curved side. Sometimes it's also me because I'll go with a more straight line concept for a portion of the letter shapes and then change my mind back again, by which time I have removed some of the handles that I want to put back. It sounds like VectorScribe will do exactly what I want the way I want it and save me a lot of time having to zoom way in to get the fine control I need to restore the paths orginial curve.
All in all a pretty solid solution between the two. I'll have to pick up VectorScribe and will use unify where applicable. I don't understand though why this isn't something that Adobe hasn't made a native provisioin for? Seems there would be many times while making a design that you might want to change your mind without having to completely redraw the entirety of a curve, especially if you're doing an illustration from scratch. I thought there had to be a native solution and I was just somehow missing it completely... maybe they don't want to step on the 3rd party vendor's toes who have made plug-ins to deal with this sort of thing? Illustrator has been around a looong time now, seems like they would have come across this more than a few times... maybe I'm just not creating illustrations using the "proper" methods.

I have an Action that places guides at 50% (50pc) vertically and horizontally to give me the exact center of an image file, or you place them manually with View > New Guide.
After doing that I would place the circular select from that center point using Shift and Alt (Opt) and get it more or less where I wanted it. Then change the selection into a work path.
You can use Free Transform to reshape and position that work path by selecting it in the Paths panel.
Then place your text, and if you still need to fine tune, use Free Transform again, but on the Type layer.
You could also use Free Transform to reshape the BG graphic to make it round.

Launch the Terminal application; e.g., by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search. Copy or drag -- do not type -- the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
sudo rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. Confirm.
Reboot. The Setup Assistant will launch.

Debug VA01 at the point where output gets triggered

Hi buddies,
I need the point where output type ZOC1 is getting triggered while saving a sales order in VA01. I have put numerous breakpoints in the output type print program but it is not taking me there at the 1st instant when I save the sales order. Later, when I check the print preview, at that time I am being taken to the print program. How do I check where the output program is getting called in VA01 ?
Request someone to help me out with this.

1st time the LDC field is coming in the print preview (after saving) but it is not coming in the print out of the order confirmation. The order confirmation print out comes out as soon as the sales order is saved.
2nd time the LDC comes in the preview and the print out.
You can see the LDC field in the additional data B tab of the material. After I enter a date in this field and save, the order confirmation printout goes to the user. What happens in the backend is that the LDC field first goes and gets updated in the text of the material (order confirmation text) and has to get printed along with what ever is already there in the text. But the problem here is that the text gets printed the 1st time and the LDC gets printed only the 2nd time.
So what I think is that by the time the LDC gets updated in the text, the text is already being printed. Thats the reason we are able to see the LDC when the output is triggered for the 2nd time and not when it is triggering the 1st time.
I need to get this on the printout the 1st time itself. I was thinking of giving a delay of 20 or 30 seconds just before the output program is getting called in VA01.

Moving the center point of an image

I'm not sure I understand why you would want to move the center point of an image, and rotate the image based on the new location of the moved center point? Can anyone give me an example why you might do this?

When aligning different images (for example to combine persons from different shots) I often find it convenient to align a specific feature (like an eye) of two such elements and then scale the one that’s to be adjusted based on that reference point.
Same when I use the ground-plane as reference: the SO might extend farther than the point where the element touches the ground to accommodate shadows or reflections so just dragging out from one of the lower points may not be ideal.
Edit: Sorry, I had overlooked that you specified Rotations in your question; what I mentioned may naturally include rotations but is usually more focused on Scaling.

I think you posted to the wrong place. This if for iMacs 2006 & older. I asked the host to mover you to Lion.

How do you move the point where an audio clip attaches to a video clip?

I'm talking about the little carrot that sticks from one clip to another to indicate the point where the cips are syncronized. How do you move their position? Thank you!

The manual says ...
Adjust the connection point of a connected clip
By default, connected clips and storylines are connected to the primary storyline at their first frame, but you can move the“connection point” of a connected clip or storyline. This is useful when you want to connect a specific frame or audiosample in the connected clip or storyline with a specific frame or audio sample in the primary storyline.
Hold down the Command and Option keys, and click the connected clip (or the gray border of the storyline) at thepoint where you want to position the connection point.
The connection point is moved to the point where you clicked.
For other things ... If you want to move the audio clip in relation to the video clip just click on it and drag it to the left or right. This is when your audio clip is a separate clip from your video clip. If you want to move the audio that is part of a video clip, you first have to select that clip then choose Clip/Break Apart Clip Items then do one of the things listed above. Best wishes.

I am having a recurring problem with my screen suddenly enlarging to the point where I cannot use it! The power button is also unresponsive. When it does work and the screen is large, I cannot access the slide at the top.....

Double tap the screen with three fingers to switch off zoom, then go to setting and disable it to make sure you don't switch it on again by accident.

According the this: http://www.apple.com/mobileme/transition.html, "After moving to iCloud, family member accounts are no longer linked to the master account." You can share an iCloud calendar (see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2690), but I don't think you will be able to share iCloud contacts unless you are signed into the same iCloud account on both phones.

HT5012 I have a first generation Iphone 5 and my question is why is my phone heating up so bad to the point where its almost to hot to touch on the back. On top of that the battery is dieing so fast that it usually lasts about 3 hrs on a full charge. Help

So basically my iPhone 5 has been heating up so bad that it feels like its about to over heat and die. I've never had this happen to any other of my iPhones. On top of that the battery is dying so fast that on a full charge is lasts about 3 hrs give or take. Ive tried closing all my apps like i usually do anyways, i tuned down the light, I've reset it and booted it back up, reset it and used iCloud backup, ext... Nothing is working. I'm to the point where i almost want to get a new phone. I even tried calling apple support and they couldn't help me cause from what it sounded like they had no idea what they were doing. If anyone has any comments on how to fix this i would greatly appreciate it . I do love apple products and i have a upgrade and plan on upgrading my phone when the new one comes out but for the time being IDE like to fix the phone i have now that I've only had for a little bit anyways. You are probably going to have to take a trip to the Apple Store, but you can also make sure that:
Bluetooth is turned off when not in use
Location Services are only turned on for those locations that you want a constant update to
Background App Refresh is turned off
Automatic Downloads is turned off
Cellular Roaming is turned off when you don't need it
Go through your Settings and take a look at all of the settings to determine if you have any turned on that may be using a lot of battery, and which you really don't need.

Just trying to annotate a few pics in a report, proposals for MTB trails over a copied pdf of a map.
When I try to place a point, it will automatically line itself up with a previous point which is hugely frustrating

I do NOT like using my credit card if I don't have to, and I went out of my way to go buy an Apple gift card, which I successfully redeemed into my Apple account. However, when I use the Apple "Cards" app, it will not let me use anything other than my credit card. I tried purchasing a card, hopefulling it would come out of my Apple store balance, but no such luck -- it came out of my credit card.
Apple is becoming more like Microsoft every day.
