Moving to australia - should I wait until i get there to buy an Ipad

Any advantage to waiting until I get to Australia to buy an Ipad?

If you are moving from the US the iPad 4 /Mini models in US
will not work outsde US on LTE unless you buy the Verizon/sprint model
The iPad 3generation does not work on LTE anywhere outside US
although 3 G will be fine on all models
see this

You need to wait and get it from a carrier in Ireland.  Besides, you'd be bummed if you could buy something here and then it didn't work there.  Good thing you'll need to wait.

  • Not sure whether to wait until I get my new mac notebook...

I just received my Ipad and wondered if I should wait until I get my Mac notebook before I download Itunes onto my Ipad. I currently use a PC and wondered if I download Itunes now will I be able to sync my Ipad with my new Mac notebook I'm getting next month?

This will not prevent you from syncing your iPad with your new Mac. An iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad are not formatted for a Mac or PC.
In regards to iTunes content, an iPad can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only and photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from your iPad first.
You can sync contacts, calendar events, notes, and Safari bookmarks with the supported applications on multiple computers - between two Macs, between two PCs, or between a Mac and a PC.
When your get your Mac, you will want to transfer select data from your PC to your Mac that you will need or want to access on your Mac such as documents, photos, and your iTunes library. If your PC is a laptop or notebook, an Apple store can help you with transferring this data from your PC to your Mac.

  • File Adapter -- Picking has to wait untill it get fully loaded/write.

    Hi All,
I need to pick the files from a folder and I need to pick the files only which has been written completely.
I should not pick the file in the middle while writing, I need to wait untill it finishes the writing completely.
Is there any setting I can put in Sender File adapter to do this?
    Thanks
    Seema

    Nithya,
    >> Try to increase the processing time in the sender communication channel, so that it allows you to completely load the file. Check the time which is needed to upload the file to the directory manually and correspondingly change the processing time.
We do not know exactly at what time the file will be placed in the folder. It may be at any time. So I cannot put the processing time accurately.
    Aamir,
    >> If you are picking from FTP,MSecs wont work there.the sender program which writes the file must write the file in some temporary format like .dat etc and once the file is complete it should change the filename to .txt, configure the sender file adapter to pick only *.txt files.
This is a good idea. But I don't think I can ask them to change at the other end as it is working previously with other middleware.
    Guys,
Can you please advice which is the best thing we can do at this point of time.?
    Thanks
    Seema.

  • Wait until content gets ditributed to dp then download?

Hey guys, i have a question about distribution points and content. So i have couple distribution points and i wouldn't like clients bounded to dp2 get some content from dp1. I mean if I deploy some content and that content is not yet available on dp2 clients
bounded to that dp2 would have to wait until that content get distibuted to dp at first...

    Hello,
"Allow fallback source locations for content" is available on a per-deployment basis. So you can check the option on DP, and determine whether it is allowed on each deployment.
    This blog should be helpful:

F.Y.I...apple is not announcing anything about the iphone 4, they will announce the new line of the ipods, and probably the ios 4.1. That is about it.

  • I am moving to the U.S. for a year, from the UK. Should I get an iPhone here (UK) or wait until I'm there?

I am moving to the U.S. for a year, after which I will be returning permenantly to the UK. I am going to buy an iPhone, but am unsure whether it would be better to buy it here, or when I get over there?
Hopefully the phone will last for more than a year!

If you do buy before you go do not worry about your warrenty as Apple should still support iy as all you need to prove is that you bought it while you were a resident in the UK.  Why companies do not like to support other contry warrenties as they wany to stop grey imprts.  In your case you are a UK citezen going to the US for a year and they should support it.  Though like most users you probably will not need this option.
Buying before you go means that when you return to the UK you will still be able to use your phone here in the UK.  The US carries like 2 + year  contracts and tend to be more expensive than UK contracts.  Not sure if they have as many deals as we do have in the UK.

  • If I buy and iPad2 now, will I be able to get ios5 or should I wait until the fall to purchase?

I am buying a gift for Mom and wondering if I should wait for ios5 or is it easily downloaded once it is released?

The update will be free, and I've never had a problem with any iOS updates on my iPad (some people have but it's a small minority who do). As long as you've got a decent wifi connection to download the update to your computer you should be ok (the last update was just under 600 Meg). As no official date has been released yet for when iOS 5 will be out (apart from in the Autumn), it may still be 5 months away.

  • I am a mobile me user, should I wait until Mountain Lion is released to upgrade

I don't know if I should wait or upgrade my OS now or wait.  Thoughts

What is your machine specifications? And what OS X version are you on now?
Apple lists a much lower requirement for Lion, but numerous reports it's slow as molasses on older hardware.

  • Should I wait until the summer to buy a macbook pro?

I am looking to buy a 13-inch with retina display. I don't know if it would be worth it to wait and see if the price drops or if a new mackbook pro is realeased.

Unfortunately, neither does anyone else because Apple doesn't tell us in advance. Also, speculation is not allowed by the terms of service for the forum.
That means you have to use the usual criteria for computer upgrades. If not upgrading your computer will cost you more trouble or money than upgrading, then you upgrade now regardless of what it coming because you or your business literally cannot afford to wait. But if you can afford to wait, then you wait.
One thing that might help: Apple does have price protection for (I think) a couple of weeks after a purchase, so if you buy and the price drops you can ask Apple to refund the difference. The details of this policy, and also of the full refund policy, are on the receipt when you buy. (There are separate policies and time periods for exchange, full refund, and price protection.)

  • What is the best I7 Intel processor to get on the Macbook Pro 15"?  Are these processors 2nd generation processors?  Does it matter?  Should I wait until - when? - for 2nd generation processors to be used?  Does the 2.5 Mh processor make a difference?

I'm about to order a MacBook Pro 15".  I wonder if the I7 processors are 2nd generation or if it matters.  Also, is there significant benefit to getting the 2.4 or 2.5 Ghz processor over the 2.2?  I'm not a gamer or graphics manipulator, but I do look at (not edit) a lot of video for my work, and I typically multi-task, having many applications and internet windows open at once. Also, I will be running Windows for work access and applications.  Of course, I have little idea what makes a difference in my use experience, except I plan to get max RAM and probably the fastest hard drive.  Any advice welcome.

    Steve,
I appreciate your focus on assistance, and thank you for your help.  Couple of follow up questions:  What you said about the new specs suggests that the MacBook Pro line has recently been upgraded with, what, the 2nd gen Intel chips, some other incremental improvements?  So maybe it has paid off to crawl along with my old mac to get the latest tech.  For these kinds of upgrades, I guess Apple doesn't advertise that they have the latest chips (I've seen PC ads touting the 2nd gen chips, and checked out the Intel site, so that's how I became aware) and all?
I'm planning to enjoy this computer for quite some years.  Of course I will get the 3 yr extended warranty.  And I was planning to get the hi res antiglare screen: that seems to be the best of the options.  It looks like one can now get a faster 750 Gb fast drive, instead of having to settle for 500 in the faster version.  The cost does add up, but my feeling was to go for broke and get the best machine I can.  So does getting the faster cpu and hd and max ram (perhaps buying third party) and all make sense, assuming I can afford it when I add everything up, or is it like a moderately good guitar player getting a top of the line guitar he can't really play well enough to warrant it?  (I remember a story about a student under Segovia arriving with a very very expensive guitar when he was still early in the learning process; it may be apocryphal, but story goes that Segovia took the guitar from the student and smashed it to smithereens.  I assume that was not just because the student mistook the instrument for skill in playing it, but perhaps also because he would be too careful with such an expensive instrument, and fail to master it.  Maybe not a perfect analogy, but I could be mislead by seeking the "best barn burner on the block" when what I need is what will work fine for my purposes.) So I think your original response was probably right on in terms of what will actually be of use to me.
    Thanks again,
    David

  • Should i wait until christmas to buy new ipod?

I noticed that the 60 gig is now $399. Does that mean that they are comming out with a better one for the holiday season????????

Sorry, we won't know. Speculations on Apple products are not allowed on these forums. If you want one, buy it now.

  • Should I wait for 4900 processor before I buy?

I am buying gt72 with 4710 processor that is not much better than 4700, practically the same, and my old GT70 has 4700 processor
so perhaps only graphic card improved compared to my gt70?  I wonder

What you have said has some truth in certain/uncommon cases, but with the laptop that you have, you can pretty much put any MXM card in and it will work.
The exact model of GT70 that you currently have is 100% compatible with the 970m and 980m.
If you're located in the US even better, if not no big deal.  If you go to my thread over at notebook review forums, we can guide you through what you need to do.
It won't require any special vBIOS or special system BIOS or EC version.  All you need to do is take your existing 770m heatsink and make the small (grind) shown in the pictures.
You will then update your system BIOS to MSI latest version available.  Put the new card in, place thermal pads on heatsink, and paste the GPU.  Boot and install NORMAL NVIDIA DRIVERS.
Now your laptop will be recognized as either a GT70 2QD or 2QE depending on if you buy a 970m or 980m.
You would be very surprised at how many people would buy your card.  You can easily sell it on eBay for $200+.  That would make your upgrade to a 970m around $250.  $250 is a very small price to pay compared to $2000+.  If you can't afford to self insure $250 upgrade, then you have no business buying a $2000+ laptop.  Just sayin'.
Come over to the forums man.  We will show you how to do it, and guide you through it.
EDIT:  You will be using a Clevo MXM 970m or 980m.  MSI cards are harder to find at the moment.  No Asus cards are not compatible.  Asus doesn't follow MXM standard size, and they have their own weird proprietary design, and in fact on their latest laptops they don't even use MXM!  They are soldered garbage GPUs.  Stay far away from Asus and Alienware from this point forward.
