Moving to Production

Hi All
I have moved all my objects from Dev to the Test Box , in a couple of weeks time , i have to move everything to production , but i am not sure what is the process ? could some one elaborate on how to move to production environment .
Thanks

Hi Ravi and welcome to the SDN,
what you need to do is to import all your requests that you already imported in your test system into your prod system. If your transport system is set up correctly, I think you will see the requests in the import queue of your prod system if you goto transaction stms. From there you can start the import. Otherwise you have to talk to a basis guy. Take care about the order.
Another option might be: within stms, goto the import history of your test system and forward all relevant requests to the import queue of your prod system and start the import.
regards
Siggi

  • Moved to Production, but one of the automatically generated forms is missin

Using regular ABAP in ECC6, LCD 8.0.
We implemented some HR Adobe forms from Note 1413275.
As you know, the function modules are dynamically generated in each environment.
They worked fine in DEV and  QA. However, when we moved to Production, one of the Function Modules'  didn't generate its contents completly - it contained:
    Top Include xxxxTOP
    Routines xxxxxxF01
However, when you double click on the F01 - it doesn't exist in PRD.
we've tried regenerating the form in SFP, but that didn't work. any ideas?

Try to regenerate the form using the "regeneration report". Check tx se38, FP_*, you´ll find a report to regenerate the form and all related. I used to use this when I don´t know there is something like form caching for example. That could help. Otto
p.s.: And there was no problem with the transports? Nothing you could trace? No message? Warning?

  • How to revert back the changes that are moved to Production

    Hi all,
We have done changes to my DC.We moved the activity into production. We need to revert back the changes in all the systems.
Is there any procedure to acheive this?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rajesh.A

    Hi,
If the changes have been saved, then there is no automatic way of reverting the changes. To get the Infoset in the reqd state, you will have to move an unchanged copy into the dev sys. The easiest way would be to transport a copy from the Prod sys. But first you have to check whether the transport path exists. With the help of Basis team, you can do this.
    wish u luck.

  • Emergency - Moving to Production tomorrow!

    Hello,
We are moving an application to production tomorrow, and our DBA group upgraded to 1.6 yesterday, breaking the app.
The issue is that when the user tries to run a process, the page clears out the P10_OBOB_UID field on the page, which is our primary key field, and the row fetch doesn't bring back any data. Also, many of the items on the page are dependent on that field not being null, so most things don't display.
The app is loaded into the htmldb.oracle.com space, and is app #15429.
Any help would be appreciated. The app was working fine until the upgrade occured.
    Scott

    Scott,
I think you're hitting the issue discussed here: HTMLDB 1.6 Source Used difference
I see that your page branches set item P10_OBOB_UID with value &P10_OBOB_UID. . This doesn't seem to be necessary if the item already has a value before the branch. Removing those fields from the branches might fix the problem. However, if you have other regions in the application that fit the description in the thread, above, you'll have to follow the instructions detailed in that thread.

  • Do / Donts when moving to productions Env

    Guys ,
we would be moving soon the production environment with SAP connector configured to pull the trusted data and that data is being propogated to AD, EDirectory and Exchange targets .
Can you guys share your experiences , do's and dont's while moving to the prod environment
    Thanks
    Suren

I would definitely start by reconciling a handful of accounts and making sure that they propagate successfully. Holding your breath and hoping nothing fails might help too.

  • Open transport request in Development server which is not moved to Producti

    HI All,
    I am doing upgrade from ECC5.0 to ECC6. EHP4.
We have some open Transport request in development server which are not moved to PRD.
Now client wants to stabilize their both the systems, want to compare each trasport in PRD.
My question is, if they dont want that request to move to PRD, what we have to do?
We have to delete the tranport and select the active version of tranport which is there in PRD or how.
Please suggest me how to proceed for this scenario. we have lot of transports. ( Tables, programs, classes, methods, etc.,)
    Regards,
    sarath

    Hello Sarath,
1st question: did you already finish your upgrade? If not, at which phase is it at?
2nd: did you upgrade your DEV system already to the same level as PRD?
3rd: were these transports generated in an old version (like ECC 5.0)? If yes, and now you have an ECC 6.0 system, you must not import them on this system, as they have different versions. If you do it, you'll make your system inconsistent.
Please clarify on these points so we can help you.
    Best regards,

Ultimately all job titles, all job duties are only and exactly as defined by the individual organization.

    3. Is CM good for carrer growth...?
Define "good". No education, no experience is ever wasted. At least not to people with the proper attitude about themselves and their careers.
Pls clarify me. Thanks in advance.

  • DJ moving to production

I've been DJing for the past year and got really good at it. Now want to try something in production of music. Never before I saw an Apple in front of me, but hearing what it can do with music and graphics ordered my MBP without hesitation. I own a mixer with built in midi controller in it (Ecler NUO4), have an external sound card M-Audio Audiophile Firewire, some other computer gadgets for DJing, but have no idea where to start. My plan is to slowly move from using records to use digital music. Any ideas on where to start?

Logic 7.2 has the most amazing software instruments and plug-ins. You don't need anything else but a keyboard to play melodies etc. You can even live without a keyboard if you strictly make loop based music. There are countless house/trance producers who use Logic exclusively. The sound library is stunning and more than enough. You can also sample your own records/cds make them Apple Loops and have your own custom arsenal of Apple Loops.
The only other program you might want to consider is Ableton Live for djing with your computer. Not as full fledged and not nearly as rich (sounds and instruments), but very easy to use and has a great "elastic" audio engine. The programs... Logic Pro & Live work very well via Rewire.
I produce house and techno. Those are my tools.

  • Report Headings are not displaying after moving request to production

    Dear all
A request has been moved to production server for a new report from quality to production server.
First we moved the request from development to quality.
In quality server , the new report is executing successfully, but coming to production,
after moving the request successfully, the headings of the fields are not coming (displaying the database table fields).
I am not understanding why it is happening.
Can anyone suggest me, what to do for executing the report with specified headings for the columns

  • ChaRM - Moving Transports to Production

    Hi,
In ChaRM when we move transports to the production system either via a batch job or manually from the SCMA transaction we find that some SDHF corrections which are in the To Be Tested state are moved to production system along with the normal corrections. can this be prevented in some way ?
    Regards,
    Vinod

Let me add some more information....
We are having an issue where SDHF Transports in a status of "To Be Tested" are imported in production along with Normal Correction Transports when the Maintenance Cycle is set to "Go-Live". It was previously our understanding that when SCMA is used to import Transports for a Maintenance Cycle project, SDHF Transports that are still in a "To Be Tested" status will not be imported until they were successfully tested and received Change Manager approval. SAP recommends that we implement a manual process to review / address open SDHFcorrections and ensure they are either in the status of "In Development" or have been manually imported prior to setting the Maintenance Cycle to "Go Live". Due to the amount of SDHF Corrections that we implement for the HCM system, this will be a difficult manual task.

  • DSO activation in Production

    Hi Experts:
I added two new fields in DSO in dev and my transports are moving in production. As a cut-over activity I have to delete data in DSO and the the PC will run to load data in DSO. My question is:
In production do I need to activate the DSO request manually after the DTP monitor is green as we do it in Dev and in Quality?
    Please reply.
    thanks!

    Hi,
As you know that standard DSO is having 3 tables 1, New table 2, Active table and 3. Changle log table.
After executing DTP data will be moved to new table. At the time of activation data will be moved to other 2 tables.
    In your case
1, If you are loading the data manually then you need to activate the DSO request manually to move the data from New table to Active table/Change log table.
    or
2, If you are using this loading step in process chain then Activate DSO will be autmatially selected with the DTP step for DSO. So no need to include do it manually. If the activation step fails then you can activate the DSO request manually or you can directly repeat the load step after fixing the error.
    Hope this will helpful.
Please suggest me if i'm wrong.
    Regards

  • Patches difference in development, quality & production

    Hi,
Our Development & Quality environment is on patchlevel
    SAP_ABA 700 0018
    SAP_BASIS 700 0018
    PI_BASIS 2005_1_700 0018
    SAP_BW 700 0020
    Our Production server is on
    SAP_ABA 700 0019
    SAP_BASIS 700 0019
    PI_BASIS 2005_1_700 0019
    SAP_BW 700 0021
Golive is next week. already developments and configuration are moved to quality and testing is going on.
Now i want to upgrade the patches in dev & quality to production level.
After that only i ll move the transports to production.
Please suggest us whether any problems will come in developments & configurations when the transports are moved to production.
    Regards,
    Raj

    It's difficult to commnet on.
Best is building a Sandbox by copying production system , moving all those transports there and test. Then if everything is fine, upgrade quality and devlopment.
But in any case , do you want to downgrade production patch level if any problem occurs after moving the transports to PRD?
If the answer is NO, then you can upgrade quality first and test new patch level. If you find any problem try to solve that ( may be by applying some notes or rasing a message with SAP)
I can make sure at least PI_BASIS 2005_1_700 0018 upgrade will not pose any problem.

    Hi Srikanth,
Compare the transport request which imported in QA & PRD from dev then you can find .
If you transported the same request from DEV to QA & DEV to PRD then this might be possible.
because of mapping of source system.
if you have transported same req from DEV to QA & DEV to PRD then plz import that request from QA to PRD.
Please check mapping of source systems in TX: RSA13 in DEV & QA systems.
    Hope this will help you.
    Thanks,
    Vijay.
