MOVING TV SHOWS TO Ibook

Can someone please tell me how to move tv shows (downloaded from iTunes) off of my iMac and onto my iBook without using a video iPod as an intermediary? I don't own a video-enabled iPod.
Suggestions? Thoughts? Brilliant ideas?
Thx.

Matt:
Versions of iTunes and Quicktime not an issue, they are identical on both devices.
So here's where I'm at.
I followed the directions of the Mac article titled "Moving your iTunes Music folder", found here (thanks, K. Shaffer):
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301748
After I complete step #12, I get the error message "There is not enough room on "[my ibook's hard drive]" to copy all of the requested files."
Which is true, and which is what I expected all along. The iTunes folder on my iMac is 35.2 GB large, and the remaining available space on my iBook is 12.1 GB. It can't fit. No surprise there. And this is why I had asked in an earlier post on this thread whether folks had moved JUST tv shows.
I just want to move tv shows, which take up 4.72 GB and would thus easily fit within the 12.1 GB which remain on my iBook. The aforementioned Mac article doesn't seem to address how to move individual files or groups of files within iTunes.
Can someone explain to me (in detail) how to move JUST tv shows?
Thanks.

Well where is your library located now if not in the iTunes folder?  See the links below on what your iTunes folder should look like and put it back together:

  • The PDF files I synced to my iPad isn't showing in iBooks. Why?

I added the files to the library, then clicked the sync iPad menu option. It acted like it worked but the PDFs aren't showing in IBooks. Now the sync iPad isn't available anymore so I can't try it again. Please help!

On the bookshelf in the iBooks app you've tried tapping the Collections button the top left and selecting PDFs ?

  • Books do not show in ibooks for mac

Yesterday I installed Maverick and imported the books from itunes to iBooks. but.... only the books bought in the ibook store are visible. Checked all possible views. Tried to do a new import, nothing seemed to happen. The books aren't visible in Itunes anymore.
When I open a single book using Finder, the book will show in iBooks and stay.
The books work using the combination itunes / ibooks on IOS.
How do I get the books visible in iBooks on my mac?
    - Mac is up to date, no updates available
    - books are visible on hardrive using finder.
    Please help!

Ok, it looks like my problem is mysteriously solved.... What did I do?
I checked the iBooks folder if there was anything there. There was a complete list of weird coded folders. every folder containing a weird coded epub.
when I saw this I decided to check iBooks again. The list view showed the same as yesterday. But when I changed view to all books all my books started to appear.
I don't know if the are all there because I haven't find a view in which iBooks shows a total count. I am not happy the rating I gave some books seems to be missing. Also not happy iBooks uses a database to store all books in stead of the way iTunes organised it. But I am happy they are there so I can read on my mac.
I think that it took a long time to transfer all books. Or maybe one of the import actions I started to get the books into iBooks did work without showing a status bar of what was happening. I did notice my macbook was slow yesterday and now that's solved to. I have a large amount of books which probably took a long time without showing what was going on.
    Advise: be patient......

I have Mail with 5 accounts. The problem is that one of them is constantly active, that is, with the moving wheel showing a search for new mails, while the others accounts are not active.

    hello
Would not take the moving wheel as indication that account is active. There could be other reasons for it. From the menu Window, choose 'connection doctor' that will show you how each account has connected. Next, from the Window menu choose 'activity veiwer' that will show you exactly what activity is causing the moving wheel.

  • Books on ipad don't show in ibooks

how do you move pdf items  downloaded from the internet into ibooks on an ipad into ibooks on the mac? Can't seem to figure it out, and don't see any posts about this when I search here on the forums.
I can see the books I downloaded online while on my ipad, in iTunes on my mac. But only under the "books" section in iTunes. Not in the "sync selected books" section.
When I use the "import books from iTunes" in ibooks, it doesn't move any of my new pdf books over, it says it is moving a bunch of stuff, but it is only the original books I moved over when I first used ibooks on this new computer,
i have tried syncing the ipad to the computer (normally to icoud). But that doesn't do anything To what ibooks can see.
    Thanks
    jason

Ok, the email option isn't quite an option due to file sizes, but might work for others with smaller files.
On the other option, I had to use the file menu-->devices-->transfer purchases
i don't  have A "sidebar" in the version of iTunes I am using (11.3.1) so I couldn't figure out where to control click. The ipad name shows up on top, and didn't do anything when clicked except 'eject' the ipad. (Not literally).
the only thing was these weren't purchases, so I didn't think that would work. They were downloads (like the owners manual for my minivan, they don't give a true users manual anymore and the cd version was horrible).  Odd behavior in my opinion. It should do this automatically when it syncs I would think.
anyways, it did work using that method. Thanks alot

  • Moving backup files from iBook to Powerbook-OSX 10.4.11

In a previous discussion I asked about my crashed iBook and got good info: not good news, though, for the iBook since I had to replace it with a used 12' OSX 10.4.11 Powerbook--a very nice little machine that runs just like the iBook but faster.  A few years ago, I got a Seagate external drive and have regularly backed up the whole hard drive, though not in the past 6 months, so I do have useable files to do a backup.  (Since the iBook is now history, I don't know what I used to do the backup--maybe the Disk Utility, maybe CCC.)
I've opened the Seagate drive on the Powerbook, looked in all the folders and found my photos, iTunes, documents, desktop folders: looks like everything is there.  Now what can I do with it?  I was thinking of drag and drop for the desktop folders but not sure about the iLife app's.  My iBook had iLife 4 loaded but the Powerbook is running iLife 6, so the iPhoto and iTunes look a little different.  Actually, I think I have been updating the iTunes app as the updates came thru, maybe up to iTunes 9...
So I am not sure what to do now, in order to move all my data from the iBook backup to the 'new' Powerbook.  The OSX 10.4.11 matches on both laptops except for the updated iLife app's, and I do not want to lose these updated app's.  Is it possible to replace maybe some app's, like Safari, and just drag and drop some folders, like all the Desktop folders.  I don't want to just ram the data over, and then find I've lost the use of the Powerbook altogether.  Should I partition the Powerbook drive and move the old stuff over, then try to run it?  Or.....?  The user manuals are not too useful for these issues, but this community is the place to bring one's questions.

    hey dalstgott:
Well, an update: the desktop folders moved very easily while my photos took a bit more work.  I was able to move most of them by opening iPhoto and clicking File>Import to Library... and then selecting each album from the outboard drive.  I did have to move a few manually as the auto move failed.  Looking at the data behind each photo showed that time and dat stamp plus exposure info did move.  There were at least two folders associated with each album that I couldn't move, nor could I open them...guess I didn't need them.
Now I'll try with iTunes, although along with the iTunes Music files themselves (mp3's I think) but there are eleven other files like: Album Artwork,  iTunes Library, iTunes Library Extras.itdb, @2011-05-20t22;02;46.itdb, Mobile Applications; Previous iTunes Libraries.  I tried to copy the list but couldn't do a screenshot of the list.  I'm afraid that there is some data in the other files that may be needed to play the mp3's but I'll give the move a try and see what happens.    Will update soon.....

  • Moved TV Show

I'm a new user and moved a TV show from my computer to my son's computer. Once I did that iTunes would no longer work. When I click on it, I get the typical Microsoft error message and send report or don't send. Quick Time is not accessible either. I have uninstalled iTunes and can't even find Quick Time in Control Panel to uninstall it. However, I know there are Quick Time files on my computer after doing a search.I have rebooted and tried downloading again to no avail. How do I clear out everything and start all over again? Uninstalling iTunes and Apple Update, rebooting, dowloading of iTunes and run the executable is not working.

I've always done manually manage, where I just drag it and drop it into my iPod, hope that makes sense. But when I try to do it this time it says what I listed above and when I try to uncheck the manually manage it says that all existing stuff on my iPod, which would be EVERYTHING since none of it is backed up right now, would be removed and replaced with this one thing, which I don't want either.
And it keeps saying my Ipod is currently linked to another library on my computer but I don't see any other ITunes library other than the one that has this one tv show on it. How do I find this phantom mystery library?

  • How can I get all category to show in ibooks? It is only showing 6 types.

How can I get to show all categorias in ibooks, it is only showing 6 types on my iPad2. I bought tur. Ipad2 in france.

Are you sure that there should be more categories ? Not all books, and therefore possibly categories, are available in all countries - Apple can only sell the books that they are licensed to sell, and it's possible that those 6 categories contain all the books that they have for your country.

  • .pdf files in iBooks on my iPad don't show in iBooks on my iMac. Why?

when i installed iBooks on my iMac, only my purchased books show in the library.  PDF files I stored in iBooks on my iPad are not showing. Any ideas how I sync the pdf files?  They use a common Apple ID and I use iCloud for the iPad backup.

Did you try using the transfer purchase feature of iTunes? I know that these may not be purchased PDF files, and it is only supposed to work with iTunes purchases, but I have done this myself with PDF files in iBooks.
iTunes Store: Transfer purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
This feature works only for audio, video, and apps that you purchased from the iTunes Store. Any items that you imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources won't copy from your device to the iTunes library. However, copies of all PDFs and books from your device's iBooks app will transfer to the computer, regardless of whether they were purchased from the iBooks Store. Are you signed in on the phone with the same Apple ID as on the computer? When you say it won't show, you mean there is nothing in your music library on the phone?

  • PDF Buttons not showing in iBooks

I have inserted navigation buttons at the bottom of a PDF docment within Acrobat X.  The buttons show up and work just fine in Acrobat.  They also show up in the Goodreader application.  However the buttons do not show up in iBooks.  Is there a way to make them show?  I have even tried to create a image and attach a link and the buttons still do not show up.  Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you have followed the directions below copied from this article....

Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in the Devices list on the left in iTunes 10.1 or later.
Click the Books tab in the resulting window.

My iTunes library is getting to be too big and I want to move my movies and TV shows out of iTunes. Everytime I delete one, iTunes starts to re-download it.

  • How to center text in Pages to correctly show on iBook reader

    Hi,
I am trying something really easy but could not solve it. Hope someone can help.
Ok, I know that if I choose ''Chapte Name'' as a pharagraph style, iBook reader automatically puts it into a new page, so the new page starts with the chapter name on top. I dont have any problems with my chapters.
However, I want my book to start with a page that has a brief info about the author. I want this info in the middle of the page (also centered in the middle). Than I want to go to the second page with a ''dedication'' part where I write my thanks to people. I also want this in the middle and centered. And finally I want to add my book title and author name together on the 3rd page. After that the chapters will start.
So, as I told you, the chapters work just fine. But when I try to center the text in the first 3 pages, (I press return several times on my keybord to do it) the pages interwine with each other. For example, the last part of page 2 goes on top of page 3.
I think this happens because I press the return key to center the texts. So, is there a way to lock texts to the pages where they belong to prevent them to interwine with other pages even if I press return to center the text
    OR
Is there another way to center text to prevent them to interwine with other pages...
    Thank you

You could try asking in the Pages forum

  • Syncing PDF files into my iPad Mini, but will not show in iBooks

I am trying to sync PDF files into my iPad Mini but it will not appear in the iBooks app on my iPad Mini. I have tried to unselect the book and reselect, sync all or sync selected through iTunes. Still have not figured it out! There is 9.75gb left on my iPad Mini which is more than enough space for the PDF files.
