Moving videos from iPod

Hi everyone. I know that moving files from the iPod is a common topic on here. I have CopyPod that works fine for audio, but I'm trying to move some video files, and they're not showing up. I have to move them off because the computer they are on is no longer available to me, and I have a legal right to these files. Does anyone know of a program that will work for moving video files?
Thanks!
~broadcasterchick

There are two ways I know of:
1. Load iTunes on the new / replacement computer and log into your iTunes account (actually click on your AppleID and use your password to confirm it is you). Then sync and iTunes "SHOULD" prompt you telling you there are "Purchases" on the iPod that aren't in your Library (that is if you bought them from the iTunes Store). Then it will ask you if you want to copy them into your Library.
OR
2. You can search for one of the many FREE programs available that allow you to fairly easily copy to and from your iPod without the use of iTunes.
Either one has risks involved, but you should be able to choose the best option for your own circumstances.

  • Copying or moving video from your Event Library to an external hard disk

I have a Network Drive where I'm used to putted all my iMovie08 files.
I'm start using iMovie09 and i'm no longer able to have my *files/library in a network drive*. Did apple remove this functionality? If this is true this is unbelievable because now a days everything goes to network storage. On iTunes i can have my library virtually anywhere. I need to have the same behavior when i'm using iMovie.
    Can someone help me?
    with my best regards,
    Paulo

Copying or moving video from your Event Library to an external hard disk
If you want to save space on your computer’s hard disk, you can move your stored video in your Event Library to a compatible external hard disk connected to your computer with a FireWire or USB 2.0 cable.
You can also copy Events to another hard disk. You might do this, for example, if you want to create a duplicate copy of your video library or an Event on a friend’s hard disk.
NOTE:When using an external hard disk with iMovie, make sure it has been formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

    - If i understood correctly, the solution you propose will replace completely my hard disk library with NAS location.
    - What i need (because when i'm travelling i dont have my NAS) is to have both. My hard disk library and the ability to copy/move (drag & drop within iMovies09 ) events and projects to my NAS at my description as i use to do on iMovies08.
And yes all my NAS locations appears with and yellow flag on iMovies09.

  • Moving Music FROM iPod to Computer...

My computer crashed, dammit. Fortunately, had my music backed up on my iPod.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like iTunes wants to allow me move it onto my new computer. Is this some crazy iTunes security feature, or am I doing something wrong?? Any workarounds??? Aargh!!!!
    Help, please?

    Check out the instructions/suggestions here.
    Music from iPod to computer.
There's also another method. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), there's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
The above methods may depend on what version of iTunes you are running.
If none of these methods work, try CopyPod which also supports the transfer of videos from iPod to computer.

  • Delete video from iPod touch

So i was experimenting with the iPod touch and I noticed you can delete videos directly from the iPod.
    1) Access Videos
    2) swipe finger from left to right across the name of a single video (groups wont work)
    3) Delete Command Will appear in red
My question is if I press delete does it just delete from the iPod or will it also delete the video from iTunes then next time i sync my iPod touch?

    razorianfly wrote:
Deletes from iPod Touch, then when resynced, restore's the deleted content.
Yes but this is useful if your iPod is full and you want to buy some music.
You delete a video to make room, download the music.
When you connect to iTunes it syncs the music from the iPod to iTunes and reloads the video, which you can prevent reloading if you want to by changing the sync settings.

  • I transfered videos from iPod to iTunes on Windows 7 PC but album art won't show up, even when I choose to find album art

I just installed iTunes 64 bit on my PC with Windows 7. I transfered my movies from my iPod Classic but no album art on any of them. I even try to find album art but nothing. I've downlaoded a couple of music albums onto same PC that I downloaded previously on iPad and they have art but not the videos I just transferred from iPod. I also can't play any of them on PC. I keep getting the no Quicktime message even though I downloaded QT. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem, except I dont have itunes match enabled.
I synced my ipad and unchecked all my albums to remove them. Then I re-synced with the albums selected. They went back on WITH the artwork under 'artists' but then for some reason the next time I sync, some of the artwork under 'artists' is gone leaving only a music note for the cover.
It also has nothing to do with the cloud backup as I have experienced this with both backing up to the cloud and to my mac.

  • How do I get 720p res video from ipod to mac

I'm told the default video res setting on the 4th gen Ipod touch is 720p. The only way I can currently get a video that I've shot to my Imac is to e-mail it to myself, which works but knocks the res way down. Do I have to purchase a third party software to transfer a full 720p video that I've shot to my Mac? Anybody had success with a particular piece of software?
    Thanks

  • How to refer to video from iPod Notes???

How do I refer to an M4V video
    from an iPod note???
    5G   Windows 2000

Sorry that this is not an answer to your question. I have just tried to do this as well and ended up here after searching the discussions.
I tried a number of things (<A HREF="movie=...">, "video=...", and many other combinations of ipod:music... ipod:videos..., etc.) and none worked. The link is there in the notes reader only for "song=..." (and variations), but it is not active. (But you probably knew all that already.)
Anyway, I post this mostly to keep the topic alive.
    Cheers!

  • Extracting videos from iPod

Quick question, If I managed to lose my videos from my PC which I use to connect my iPod to though iTunes, is there a tool available online that will enable me to manually extract the videos from the ipod?

    From Jeff's link;
"CopyTrans (formerly CopyPod) is the ultimate backup & recovery tool for your iPod songs. It lets you retrieve your iPod music, ratings, playlists, play count, videos & more from iPod to PC."
    Cheers!

  • Bluetooth photos and videos from iPod to iMac

    Hi,
I originally had an iPod touch, and recently bought myself an iMac and I love them both.
One problem confuses me though. I recently paired my iPod to my iMac through bluetooth, because I normally keep my cable in my car for playing my music while I am driving.
I'm trying to do a simple task of sending photos and videos taken via my iPod to store on my iMac via bluetooth. It seems when I go to the 'Browse Device' option for the iPod, this is not supported, it says that the device does not have the neccessary services or something.
Now I have done a bit of research, and discovered an App for doing this, which I have to pay for...
Am I missing something here? Surely this is a feature that should be the most basic of basic of basic features that anybody who has paid out a massive amount of money for a really good computer should have as standard? Afterall, they are both Apple products, and one of the selling points of Apple is that all Apple products work seamlessly together, in sincing and all that jazz. Don't get me wrong, I love both products, they do work pretty **** well, when a cable is used... but surely, I must be missing something. Bluetooth has been out for years and years, and Apple are supposed to be so good at this sort of thing?
Anyhoo, I'm sure that there's a simple feature I'm missing, and one of you inteligent Apple boffins will be able to enlighten me as to what I'm doing wrong, for example maybe there's a Wifi feature I should be using instead?.. I've only been using an Apple for a few weeks so far, and I'm still getting used to it.
    Many thanks,
    Chris

    Hi..

    Not necessary.
Best way to transfer photos and video from your iPod to your iMac is iTunes.
Connect the iPod to your Mac.
    Launch iTunes.
Select the iPod under Devices left side of the iTunes window.
Select Apps, Tones, Music, Movies, etc from the menu to sync.

  • Losing Music/Videos from iPod

Can someone help me??? Why am I losing only my downloaded iTunes songs and videos from my iPod?? I also have downloaded songs from my laptop computer library and from some CDs but none of those disappeared. I had to re-sync the songs and video again to my iPod...

Thanks for the reply. However, I purchased the 4 songs and the video (TV show-Family Guy) right from the iTunes store. All the other songs that I downloaded to my iPod from CDs and my laptop library were still there. I'm a new, first time owner of the famous iPod. So, this may sound a little dumb but how can the items that were purchased right from the store be rentals and have expiration dates?? Wouldn't my purchases be mine permanently until I decide to delete them??
