Mozilla firefox is not loading home page default

I tried to follow the instructions located here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1004257?esab=a&as=aaq

Please advise me what to do as it is consistently opening this url - http://www.hao123.com/?tn=97473572_hao_pg instead of au.yahoo.com

I have Mozilla Firefox installed, w/. my Home Page setup to be opened on It every time. I can open a new window on It too, but when I open a new tab, every time open this new tab w/. Untitled Page. I wanna It opening w/. my Home Page.

Firefox is coded to open new tabs in a blank page. That may change in Firefox 4. I don't know.
In the meantime, there is an add-on called Tab Mix Plus that I think provides that option. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122/

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

• Firefox will not load web page (I also have Internet Explorer 8 installed).

Fire Fox will not load web pages. It may have something to do with proxy settings but I have reset this to Auto-Detect which is where it has always been in the past but still nothing. Something has reset my proxy settings in the past which caused a similar problem but doesn't seem to be the issue this time. I have Internet Explorer 8.0 installed on computer right now and it seems to work.

After looking into this further I checked firewall settings in Panda A.V. For Firefox they were set to Custom settings which effectively disabled it. I changed setting to Outbound only like Internet Explorer and other programs and Firefox seems to work fine now. Hope this helps others who have experienced this problem. I have teenage children who use computer a lot (Face Book, etc.) so the root of the problem may have been Malware, Adware, or something else but hopefully Panda has taken care of this.

• Firefox will not load any pages beyond home page, IE will!

Tried opening FF this morning and it would load the home page, but none beyond that. It would not even go to a link from the homepage. I tried different sites, but it would just say connecting and NEVER load! My IE works fine (for IE anyway!) Anyone else having any issues? I tried to update FF and that didn't help either.

• The search bar will not load, home page frozen after down load of new version

Frustrated! I am a teacher and now that I have finally downloaded the new version of Firefox, the search link is frozen on the home page and there is a blank bar that does nothing below it.'''bold text'''

Hi johnFD,
you should see these articles at first. These are pretty informative regarding your problem.
* [[Search bar - Easily choose your favorite search engine]]

Also, have a look at these topics:
* [[How do i change the default search engine in the search bar?]]

Finally, there is a Firefox Extension which can reset your preferences to their default values called [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/searchreset/ Search Reset]
Could you try anything of these and then report back?

• Will not load home page

(1) My home page is set to: http://www.google.com/ig?source=gama&hl=en. My firefox startup option is ShowMyHomePage.
(2) When I first start up firefox, my home page will not load, and I keep getting the firefox support page. Note: As of a few days ago, the firefox support page also has a broken link.
(3) When I manually click on the firefox HOME icon, my home page is loaded correctly.
Cheers

• Firefox does not load web pages; it always says 'can't find server' on every page I try to load

Firefox 'can not find server' reply comes up on every page I try to load, including my home page. I have to retry or refresh 3-4 times before it takes.

Sounds like a proxy server issue. Go to System Preferences... > Network
Select the AirPort from the left hand side
Click on the Locations combo box and select "Automatic"
Click on Advanced
Select the AirPort tab and enter your network name
Select TCP/IP tab.
Configure IPv4 Using DHCP
Now click on Renew DHCP Lease. After a few seconds you should get an IP address (probably 192.168.x.x)
Click on Proxies tab.
Select Auto Proxy Discovery and Use Passive FTP - de-select all other options.
Click on OK and Apply, etc.

• Firefox will NOT load multiple pages at once, Help!

I cannot get Firefox to load multiple pages at once. If I try this, they will continue to show the "load"/"refresh" symbol forever and ever (at least half an hour by the time I got fed up). I can load one page at a time but even then it takes quite a long time for the page to fully load - god forbid the page has images on it because then it might take up to 10 minutes to fully load.
Sometimes if I try to load multiple pages and then "x" out of them and try to do it one by one, it simply refuses to load ANY of the pages.
I can load multiple pages at one time in IE on my computer, I can load single pages in IE without delay. I can do the same thing in Safari on a desktop mac in the house. So NO, it is NOT my internet connection, thanks.
For God's sake, I'm sending this complaint/question in IE because I KNOW it won't send in firefox. How messed up is that?

• Firefox will not load any page.

Looked at the article "Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can" but I'm an idiot and can't figure out what I'm supposed to look for. The instructions of where to go in IE are different than my IE. So, don't really know what I'm looking for.
To my knowledge, there have been no recent upgrades to any of my software - nothing I have done.

If you have security software (antivirus, firewall etc.) installed and the problem started after updating Firefox, you can try deleting all existing instances of Firefox and its related processes/files in all the different configuration modules/areas of the security software like process monitoring, sub/spawned process control, virtualization, HIPS etc., in addition to the security software's main configuration panel. Instead create new fully allowed/trusted rules for Firefox + its related processes in all the different modules/panels - a genuine/original Firefox installer as well as all the installed EXEs (Application) and DLLs (Application extension) are digitally signed by Mozilla Corporation (right-click > Properties > Digital Signatures). Even otherwise, some security software may also ask again when Firefox and/or its sub processes are started, and you may be able to allow/trust at that time. Please see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Firewalls this].

• New Firefox, will not save home page and opens up displaying all add-ons every time!

Okay - for YEARS now I've used ONLY Firefox - it had the best extensions and add-ons of any other browser out there. Add to it, it was safe and very quick. So it was my default browser.
This week I logged into my DeviantArt site and odd advertisements started showing up in the lower left and right corners of the browser, unlike anything I'd ever seen before. Add to it, they were very inappropriate! So I assumed that something was wrong, and went through three, as in 3, programs to find out if I had any 'bugs' causing the problems. And of course, there was some kind of nasty bug in Firefox causing all kinds of issues.
So, following the suggestions of the fixer, plus the suggestions here, I deinstalled Firefox (21) then reinstalled the newer version, 23. At first, I thought, "Wow, that is really fast!". When I opened Firefox it didn't go to my home page, it went to the Firefox startup page, along with opening tabs for EVERY add-on and extension!
So, opened Tools, Options and reset the home page to my home page, https://www.google.com
Simple, and something I've done before. I'm a computer geek and have worked on my own additions. So, set up my home page, was working in Firefox, went to youtube to download a video and it wouldn't! So went to DLhelper, read their comments, changed one of the strings, and voila! No problems!
So I thought it was fixed and I was happy. That was last night. This morning I boot the puter and the first thing I do is open Firefox . And what happens? Oh, yes, that's right, NOTHING THAT I WOULD HAVE WANTED! It's back to the Firefox startup page, and it opens tabs for EVERY SINGLE ADD-ON!
Holy carp, getting tired now. So I research from 8 this morning until about an hour ago, so just over 5 hours I keep trying to fix it based on Firefox instructions. Go into about:config, work on the strings, change the home page info, etc. Save it. Go back to Tools, Options and there's my home page. Close Firefox and open it, and what the heck? Again, back to where it was, opening as if I just uploaded this browser. Now I've spent literally HOURS trying to fix this and I'm so frustrated that I'm just about ready to de-install it! My one complaint is that I searched all over to try and find this same problem and cannot find it. Is that true, I'm the only one with this bizarre problem???

EDIT - Now that it's fixed, I shall remove my negative comments where I can. Oddly, the final reset fixed it...

• 4.0.1 will not load home pages instead loads last view pages even with it set for showing only home page.

I have set under tools, options, general tab for showing my home page but when I restart firefox it loads the last viewed sites instead of the home page.
