Mozilla Firefox V7 do not install.

I downloaded twice Mozilla Firefox installer. It de-compresses well, but at the time to install it makes a weird question: Do you want to intall as e different user or continue as the present user?
Any one I choose do not install.
The system chooses "administrator" as the user and notice that I will need privileges to use the full program ¿??? Crazy! Do not install.
The second option ask for my email and password and then do not install either.
????

Run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).<br />
If that doesn't help then do a clean reinstall.
Do a clean (re)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Mozilla/Firefox 4 will not install on my computer and I cannot uninstall any old Mozilla/Firefox programs and files still on my computer.

Firefox won't load onto my computer. I have Windows 7, and each time I try to run the program to install it, it tells me I have another version still waiting to be installed that requires my computer to reboot. When I check "yes" to reboot, my computer reboots but still no Firefox. When I try to uninstall the the old Mozilla program from my Control Panels, there is no Mozilla files or programs listed not in my list of programs but when I go directly to the Windows File on the C: Drive, there's a Mozilla program file there. WHen I go into that file check, I attempt to open the uninstall program. I get an error message that says something to the effect of: "the version Mozilla on this computer is not compatable with my OS." Something about it being and 86bit program. My Firefox 3.6 worked fine 2 days ago. What's wrong???

Ok, lets do a couple of steps here first:
To make sure your windows isn't corrupted because of the power outage, let's run chkdsk.
Click on My Computer, then right click your C: Drive (if you have other hard drives, you will want to run this on them as well). Then, click Properties. Inside that window, go to the Tools tab. Inside that tab, open up the "Check Now" button. That will open a smaller window. Select the checkbox to "Automatically fix file system errors", then hit Start. You will probably receive an error asking if you want to schedule the disk check, click Yes, then restart your computer.
Read [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265] for more information.
After running the chkdsk, then please go to [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com], and download a fresh version of Firefox. I'm assuming you are using Internet Explorer to download Firefox. Instead of hitting Run, let's try hitting save. Remember where it saves the installer file on your computer.
After the download has finished, double-click and run the Firefox install. Once it is finished, try to start Firefox up. Let me know how it goes!

Did you reinstall CS3 after CC?
For that matter, doing an in-place upgrade on the OS is always a gamble with Adobe programs. Reinstalling all the versions you need, in order, would probably solve your problem.
And you shouldn't need to save as IDML after opening the .inx in CC.

  • Firefox add-ons not installing

Just installed Firefox (Konqueror till now) and am trying to install some add-ons.
Problem is that once I press the 'Install' button on the add-on page, nothing happens - the tab header changes to "Loading' with a running circle of dots - and that's it.
    Any ideas anyone ?
    Thanks
    Ben

It could be your connection, or something wacky with Firefox - try renaming the ~/.mozilla/firefox directory and see what happends with a fresh profile, on a side note I use Konqueror for almost everything me self... I do use Firefox for debugging but that's a different story.
    Cheers

  • Firefox upgrades will not install on my Mac with OSX 10.8.2, I am stuck on Firefox 13

I have a mid 2012 MBP with Retina display. When I try to install Firefox upgrades i Get the message that teh update will not be installed, are you running more than 1 copy of Firefox. This occurs no matter what I try even from a restart. Activity monitor only shows one copy of Firefox running
I reset Firefox to the default and that did not help, I started in safe mode and that did not help.

    Hi mike_bauer
If there is an issue with update or permissions the better, quickest and safest way is to '''download and install''' firefox:
    1. Download a copy of the latest firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
    2. '''''Trash''''' the current Firefox application to do a clean install.
    3. Install the version that you have downloaded.
Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.

  • Mac os 10.4.11 on ppc (i.e. pre-intel). Firefox 4 does not install. is it compatible?

I was trying to upgrade to the newest version (4) of Firefox, but when I installed the software, I get error -10661 saying the app cannot be launched. I have Mac OS X10.4.11 (PowerPC, not Intel chip).

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party build that runs on OS X 10.4 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

  • Firefox home will not install on my iPhone

Firefox Home shows up as "purchased" in my apps listings for/on my iPhone 3G but will not install on my phone either through iTunes syncing or through my iPhone apps application. What is wrong? All other apps install, deinstalled, and reinstall fine. The app used to work fine, but one day I noticed it was missing from my phone and now it won't reload.

Strange - You can't even install it directly on the phone from the App Store. Have a look [http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1702 this Apple troubleshooting article]. Beyond that, Apple would probably be better equipped to help you.

  • Just updated to latest version , getting started with Mozilla Firefox opens everytime not homepage , how do I get rid of unwanted page

I upgraded to the latest version of Firefox , when I hit the icon and firefox opens the first page that comes up is the Getting started with Mozilla Firefox and not my home page , I have checked everything I could find and nothing keeps this page from opening like it's my home page . also I unloaded download helper for the same reason , it keep opening up wanting me to upgarde to the latest version , I already had upgraded , I don't know what is going on , My home system was upgraded early last week and works fine , I double checked all setting between the two systems , nothing , Please let me know where to look , thank you , a longtime fan of Firefox.

    Hi Romulus949,
You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]].
There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. Then you can set your homepage to anything you like.
If that doesn't work you should look at [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox this article about that specific issue] and the article [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved Preferences not saved].
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Safari and firefox freezing, updates not installing

Last week I had a problem with my laptop freezing a lot so I shut it off and it wouldnt turn back on. I brought it to the Apple store and the guy found that some system updates were not installing properly and he said that may have been the problem. He re-installed the OS and it was fine. I have brought it home and am now discovering that it is still having problems. Here are the problems I am experiencing:
    1.  Both Safari and Firefox are constantly freezing (showing the spinning ball). Sometimes it lasts a few seconds, other times 30 seconds or more.
    2. I just downloaded some more system updates and when my computer re-started it said they could not be installed.
    3. My printer no longer works. It says I need to install software in order to print, said to get the system updates. Before I got my computer fixed I never had to install anything to use the printer, I just plugged it in and it printed no problems.
This is a macbook pro with Snow Leopard OS bought in Jan 2011.

It sounds like you will have to create a external storage drive, copy your User file folders to it and remove all drives, then perform a
Restoring OS X - 10.6  "fresh install method"
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/16276201#16276201
May I note if you had previously made a clone and updated it from time to time, leaving it disconnected that you could have restored from it, even if your hard drive failed to function simply by holding the option key while booting. Would have avoided this "fresh install method" which is the hardest.
Please make a clone after the fresh install, you will be glad one day you did.

  • Firefox 5 will not install

I had to do a restore point on my lap top. I had downloaded version 5 just before the restore. When my computer came back on, I could not run Firefox, so I tried to uninstall and then reinstall. I got the message "language library not found" . All the files are still on my computer, but Firefox still will not run nor can I uninstall it.

Use Internet Explorer and download another copy of version 5.0 and save it to another download location. Try installing the fresh copy.

  • I tried to start using Mozilla firefox but could not get past subscribing to mesterquiz so I set a fake Telephone number 99123456. I will not pay 150 kr/week s

It seems mandatory to answer some questions about using mozilla firefox to start usin gfirefox and to chose a "gift" i.e.. an ipad to go to mesterquiz and subscribe to a service of 150kr/week
How do I get around this?

Firefox costs nothing to use, and there are no "gifts" involved. Sounds like you may have signed up for something not related to Mozilla.

  • Firefox 13.0 not installing properly - Hangs @ "A little housekeeping"

Every single time I try to install Firefox the installation hangs on "A Little Housekeeping." This is a Windows 7 portable w/ 4 GB
I have no idea what could be causing this. I have uninstall and reinstalled Firefox multiple times trying to get it to install correctly. When I use task manager to close out of the process Firefox appears to have installed, and I am able to remove the program in the control panels Add/Remove Programs list.

I am just using this forum on Windows XP as my Windows 7 Firefox is OOC.
