  • Flash 11.1 runs only in Software mode in all browsers

    Hi,
I have a problem that the Flash player runs only in Software mode in all browsers.
I have the following notebook: Dell Vostro 3350 with dual graphics (Intel HD Graphics integrated and AMD Radeon HD 6490M dedicated), the OS is Windows 7 64-bit.
The driver version that is in the device manager is the following: 8.840.7.3000 (I've made sure to have installed the latest driver from Dell)
The hardware acceleration radio button in the Flash settings is on, of course.
The funny thing is that in the Flash 11 Incubator program DirectX rendering was working properly, the problems have started since the RC version of Flash 11.
    Can you help me somehow?
    Many thanks,
    CapKosmaty

    Hey guys, I'm unburying this thread; I've waited a bit, hoping that an update would put my model from the blacklist, but there's no change;
Here's my dxdiag log: (could it be that Flash has problems with switchable graphics? I run different retail games, like Star Wars: The Old Republic recently, and they run perfectly on the Radeon HD 6490M)
    again, I'm grateful for help!

  • CC subscription is current, but today all CC apps run only in TRIAL mode!?!

This morning I get into the office, on a heavy deadline, and I'm screwed.
My Creative Cloud membership is current, but suddenly, without any warning, ALL CC apps run only in TRIAL MODE.  Gee thanks, Adobe.
    What do I do now?
    Thanks for any help.

Same problem here--I was on deadline, lost access to all my Adobe CS6 applications. According to the Adobe support tech I spoke with, the licensing process is corrupted and they're working on a fix. From the looks of the complaints on this forum, they've been working on it for quite awhile.
Seems that IF your computer happens to be disconnected from the web when Adobe's cloudserver decides to send the "yup, he's paid up for this month" message, the system fails and your software shifts over to a 30-day trial. I was (seriously now) assured that all I had to do was make sure my computer was connected and ready for Adobe on my particular biiling cycle day (the 15th of the month) and then this would never happen.
To fix the issue, I should click the "licensing" button, provide my Adobe ID and password, and all would be well until the following month. That worked for InDesign, didn't work for Photoshop or Fireworks. Failing that, I should uninstall and reinstall and relicense everything...and all would be well until the following month.
I don't have time for these games; when I buy software I expect it to be available and I don't see why renting it should be any different. At the moment I'm out $30 worth of access.
Fortunately, I'd never uninstalled my old CS5.5 collection. I'm sending a note to Adobe telling them to cancel my cloud subscription, and going back to plain old licensed software. If I ever need to upgrade CS apps again, I'll do them as-needed and stay the heck away from the cloud. Cloud SaS would be nice, but Adobe needs to get it right before they sell it.

If your startup disk says it is full, you need to remove some of your stuff.
Either move some documents/movies/pictures to an external drive (if you want to keep them), or delete them from your startup drive. Then, empty the Trash.
If you move them to an external, you will still have to delete them from the internal drive.
That won't fix Office (I don't think), but it will make everything run better. You need a minimum of 10GB free (more would be better).
You might need to reinstall Office. It should work without problem (well, at least as little problem as Office can muster).

  • Cannot run reader in protected mode with MS Office 2010

I just set up 6 identical Dell Optiplex XE machines with Office Home and Business 2010 pre-loaded.  Reader 10.1.1 will run in protected mode if it is installed before I go through the Office 2010 activation/installation procedure.  On the 2 machines where Office was set up before installing Adobe reader, protected mode will not work.  If protected mode is not enabled, I cannot go into preferences - general and turn the protected mode log to try to debug this problem.  For now I an running those two machines with protected mode off.  Has anyone else seen this?

You should always use official documentation for support details but I am pretty sure Windows 7 support was not available for the EAS client until 11.1.1.3.

  • Applescript application(Run only)/Password protected

    Hi,
I'm copying files from source to destination using input XL then relink the images in InDesign Files. Saved that Apple script as Application(Run Only).  When I run the application its throwing "0 doesn't understand the count message".  But Code is working fine for me. Don't know why. Can anyone help me...
And also I need to protect that apple script using password as manual.  Is it possible??
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sudha K

admin is the normal "admin rights" under SL.  I would NOT change these.  If you have an admin account then you have the proper rights.

  • Running GWIA in protected mode

Any know real world issues in doing this?
I'm having problems with IMAP thread not releaseing when I try to restart or
take the agent down which often result in taking the NW server down hard to
    reset.
I have tried this over the last coupel of days and I have had strange issue
were GWIA appears to be up yet it's not responding to SMTP requests.
particular problem is a few scanner copiers that relay internally. I'm not
sure if it's the latest SP2 HP1 update or loading the agent in protecte
    mode.

This is the tail end of my GWIA log from yesterday after I attempted to
shut it down, IP client addresses & user ID's have edited so not to throw
    them out to the world....
My theory is that if I wait long enough, the IMAP thread would eventually
close out but GWIA was already hosed and it needed to be restarted asap, in
the example of the log below, I waited a little shy of 5 minutes and it
still not unloaded. The majority of my IMAP GWIA clients are iPhones (75+
    at any given time).
I'm running the /killthreads option and yes that kills SMTP but not IMAP

  • Lynx running only in anonymous mode. Unable to save configuration...?

    Hello Arch Community!
I've been trying to familiarize myself with the Linux command prompt. As such, I have been using only commandline tools and utilities. (No windows manager installed here!) I chose Lynx as a web browser, and so far I like it. However, I cannot figure out how to convince Lynx to save my configuration. Some options are marked with a (!), meaning that those changes will be lost when the program closes. I've done some research, and it appears as though I am running Lynx as an "anonymous" user. After an hour of searching around, I turned up very little information. (As you can imagine, text based web browsers aren't exaxtly fashionable...) Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all for your time,
    LibertasAequitas
Edit: Also, if anyone would like to suggest an alternate text only browser; please, feel free!

Ok, I weren't able to find a specific compiz log, so I started it via console the output was:

Somehow I weren't able to get any window-decorations to work. (Emerald)

I've read the NVidia wiki several times and very carefully. I went through every single step.. there is nothing more available that could solve my problem.
Thankyou very much for the responses!

  • How can I configure an OSGI component to run only in author mode and not in publish mode?

Using scr annotation we could do the same my mentioning "@scr.property name="run.modes" values.0="author" values.1="publish"" , but how to do that with  org.apache.felix.scr.annotations.Property annotation ?

    Hi Cyprian,
How have you configured your OPC Server tags?  Are they strings of floating point type?  What type of server is being created?
Also, what's the end goal of this?  Generally speaking NI OPC Servers is used to communicate to a PLC as you have seen.

  • Adobe Reader 10.0.1 Protected Mode investigation

In my testing of AR X on Windows 7, I noted the Protected Mode error that has been posted in these forums many times before.
Notably, the problem did not show when logged in user a local admin account but did occur with a network admin account.
I found that changing all network references in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders to local references, stopped the protected mode error from appearing when logged in as a network admin.
So, in our case at least, the Protected Mode error appears to arise whenever the user shell folders are redirected to a network share.
Hopefully this may help others trying to get this software working.

    Hi,
We have had a few bug reports related to Adobe Reader X protected mode coming in from users in this forum. We have addressed a large number of them in our upcoming Reader update and we would like to hear your feedback.
To that extent, we would like to invite you to the Adobe Reader Prerelease program and try out the latest build. • Database shutdowns in Maximum Protection mode

    Hi,
I am using oracle dataguard 11g(11.2.0.1.0) on OEL5. My dataguard is working fine in MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE mode. But when i try to put my database mode in MAXIMUM PROTECTION MODE my database gets shutdown. What could be the possible reason for this????
    Regards,
    007

    Hello;
Quote  "To ensure that data loss cannot occur, the primary database will shut down, rather than continue processing transactions, if it cannot write its redo stream to at least one synchronized standby database"
Section - 1.4 Data Guard Protection Modes - Data Guard Concepts and Administration 11g Release 2 (11.2) E10700-02
From section 5.1 of the same document ( Maximum Protection )
"Oracle recommends that a minimum of two standby databases be used to
protect a primary database that runs in maximum protection mode to prevent a single
standby database failure from causing the primary database to shut down."

  • Error message says "This page requires a plugin that can only run in 32-bit mode"

When I try to write an email from my BT site I get the following message
"This page requires a plugin that can only run in 32-bit mode"
Then there's a link to restart the page in 32-bit mode. However, it resets to whole page, drags things back out the trash.
I have only had this problem since updating to the latest Firefox

Previous versions of Firefox were only 32 bit, Firefox 4 for the Mac contains 32 and 64 bit versions. If you want to always start Firefox in 32 bit mode, open up Finder and go to the Applications folder. Control-click the Firefox app and click "Get Info", then select the "Open in 32-bit mode" option.

  • Firefox will not open unless I run it in compatibility mode (Windows XP SP 3), run it as an administrator, or launch it immediately after a reinstall (the reinstall thing only works once.) How do I fix this?

This morning, Firefox crashed. After this, when I click the Firefox icon, the hourglass appears and then nothing happens. Firefox does briefly appear in the task manager when I do this.
I tried rebooting. I tried reinstalling multiple times. (Firefox will run when I select "Launch Firefox" from the installer. Then the problem occurs again.) I tried safe mode. I have found that Firefox will work if I select Windows XP compatibility mode from the icon properties menu or if I run the program as an administrator. When I do this, Windows asks me if I want a program to be able to make changes to my computer.
I have noticed that a Windows Error Report is being generated each time Firefox will not open.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Error in "Web Preview" mode in Reports version 7.2.1

I get the following error in "Web Preview" mode in Reports. I am trying to select a member from dimension called "Entity" which has User POV property.
I also have other dimensions in the report with User POV but they all are working fine. I get the error only when trying to look up the above "Entity" dimension.
    Any ideas?
