Mozilla Thunderbird and Firefox

Hey guys,
I use Mozilla Thunderbird and Firefox but cannot sync any of my settings with them unless I have Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook or Windows Mail.
I choose to use Firefox because it is safer and easier to use than Internet Explorer and Thunderbird because it is hugely better than Windows Mail.
What I want to ask is if you guys could please add syncing support between the iPhone and my laptop for these two great products, I am sure I am not the only one out there using these.

Suggestions to Apple are best submitted via their feedback pages:

  • A lot of files will be copied on the desktop, from the desktop, when I open Thunderbird and Firefox

    I have had Thunderbird and Firefox in several years. Now it has started to copy my files on my desktop when I open Thunderbird. Today I have got the same problems with Firefox, webbbroser.
    I take the files away, but next time I start working, a new copies of the files will be done! :-(

    What are the names of some of those files?

  • Entourage and Mozilla Thunderbird and back.

    For a while I was using Entourage but decided to move to Mozilla Thunderbird and it's been ok but now I want to move all my email address's and all the folders where I store email back to Entourage. Someone was kind enough to inform me on how to get them from Entourage to T'Bird but now the question is how to get them back as I had deleted them in Entourage once I had them in T-Bird and over time more have been created. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Also, if Entourage won't automatically import the messages, there is probably an Export option on Thunderbird. I am afraid a Microsoft forum might not be much help and you may have to start with a Thunderbird forum first.

  • If Thunderbird and Firefox is running the Thunderbird is very slow!

    If Thunderbird and Firefox is running, the Thunderbird is very-very slow - in Windows 7!
    If Firefox closed Thunderbird is run fine... very good. If i reopened Firefox browser... the Thunderbird is very-very slow again.
    What is the problem?

    I thought I was crazy. I pared back all my plugins to just gestures and adblock plus. If my Linux Ubuntu FF 19.0 sits overnight, opening a new tab takes 30 seconds!!! And it's just completely sluggish. I must restart FF to get back to normal performance.
    FF slowly starts taking over 100% CPU during this time as well.

  • Mozilla Thunderbird and Creating Scripts

    I would like to create a script for Mozilla Thunderbird. In addition to
    this I would like to create scripts for software written specifically for

  • Mozilla Thunderbird and Time Machine

    I can't find anything else about it in here, but my question is-----------Does Time Machine work with Mozilla Thunderbird?  I've been using it for about three months now, and today I looked in my Time Machine and I can't see where it's backing up my emails.  I also have Mac Mail enabled, so I can get them there if I have to, but I prefer using T-Bird.  I checked in the TM preferences, and there is nothing on the excluded list, so it's not that.

    Thanks.  After playing around with it for a bit, I can see that searching for anything is a real krap shoot in T-Bird.  There's no way I can see to easily find much of anything unless you have the specific title or content of a message, looking for old messages.  I was using Mail before, but I had a problem with it that I was unable to resolve---about every 3 months or so everything in my Inbox and Sent folder more than 3 or 4 days old would simply vanish.  I was unable to just do a rebuild---it had no effect.  So I would go into TM and just restore it from a day or two before it happened and then put the restored items back into the correct folders.  It was just that after this happened 3 or 4 times I got tired of fooling around with it and started using T-Bird.
    Looks like now I need to try Mac Mail again or just give up and revert to using my email accounts as webmail.  I had posted another thread about the Mail problem but no one in here was able to figure it out either.

  • Thunderbird and Firefox

    I'm not sure if I understand 100% of what I'm asking, but here it goes.
    I'm pulling Firefox 1.5 and Thunderbird 1.0.7 from the Arch repositories.  Now, in order to get Thunderbird to open URLs from e'mails using Firefox browser, I had to add the following to the "prefs.js" file found in: /home/family/.thunderbird/<profile directory>/:
    user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.http", "/opt/mozilla/bin/firefox" );
    user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.https", "/opt/mozilla/bin/firefox" );
    Wihtout this, no browser would open when I clicked on a URL in a Thunderbird e'mail.  You may tell me an easier way to make this happen, but I couldn't find it.
    What I was wondering was whether those who maintain Thunderbird for Arch might be able to add some sort of reasonable defaults to the prefs.js file?  If nothing else, konquerer would seem a likely default.
    Just an idea.

    I'll try the BROWSER environment variable, and see what happens.  I *did* set the default browser in KDE which I assumed would have the same effect, but it didn't work.  An URL in another document, say one opened with OO worked ok, but not in a Thunderbird e'mail.
    Exporting this into the users' login scripts would be ok, though.

  • Both thunderbird and firefox crash my computer when clicked on

    I turned off my computer yesterday in anticipation of a nearby tornado. When I turned it back on, both of my Mozilla products--Firefox and Thunderbird--shut down the computer when clicked on. Internet Explorer works fine. I had to have my entire Windows 7 reinstalled recently for what the techie called "a Mozilla related problem" that he couldn't understand. Now the trouble has reappeared the first time the computer was totally turned off. What to do now?

    Please help me figure out how to re-install either firefox or safari. I erased both of the applications and my laptop has no internet.
    I assume you say "no internet" access because of no browser.
    This terminal command will download Safari Version 5.0.5 to your home folder from terminal.app ( no browser)  copy and paste:
    curl -o Safari.dmg -R http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/Safari5/041-0564.20110413.Fi9pb/Safari5.0.5SnowLeopard.dmg
    note: you can cd to Desktop to download to Desktop instead of home folder, before you start the above download:
    cd to Desktop
    After download is complete click the .dmg and install as usual.

  • How can I open Mozilla Thunderbird in Firefox 4?

    I've already set Thunderbird as my default mail service both on my system and in firefox "mailto" action. When I click the mail button in Firefox it still opens into Hotmail. My OS is Windows 7.

  • Mozilla-thunderbird and RSS

    Hi,
    when I'm using thunderbird from arch pkg I don't have option to create RSS account (File -> New ->Account...     opens window where I can choose email or news gruoups).  When I use release from Mozilla page in popup window I can choose also 'Movemail' and 'RSS'. Is thunderbird in ARCH changed or its some bug?

    Thunderbird still works for me in terms of RSS and I can get all of my other feeds other than the Arch Linux package feed. I know this is somehow a limitation of the Thunderbird RSS way of reading things or perhaps the Arch package itself which I am using as even the AUR package list works fine.
    Is it in the works to get this working? The reason why I switched all my mail from Evolution to Thunderbird was so that I could have a mail client and RSS reader in one instead of using 2 separate apps (I was using Liferea before which is a very good reader in its own right).
    So, I'm wondering if this is a dead issue or if there is still hope for this Arch package to work correctly.

  • Clipboard and Mozilla Thunderbird

    I can't create a Transrerable object, using text/html, that Thunderbird composer can read. If I copy somethng from the Thunderbird composer, run the following lines
    Toolkit tk = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit();
    Clipboard cb = tk.getSystemClipboard();
    cb.setContents(cb.getContents(null), null);
    and tries to past it back in the composer, nothing happens. (Paste whithout formatting, however, works). It's no problem to paste to Word, Excell och Outlook.

  • Firefox is not launched from thunderbird and endnote URL

    I used to be able to click on a link from Thunderbird and Firefox could be opened, but now it doesn't do anything. Also, when I click on a URL from Endnote, Firefox doesn't open.

    First thing to check: is Firefox set as your default browser.
    # Go to Tools > '''Options'''
    # Click the '''Advanced''' panel
    # Click on '''General''' tab
    You will find at right bottom a button '''Check now''', click it. A little window will tell you if Firefox is default, then choose.
    Restart Thunderbird and test a link.

  • Provider won't recognize Mozilla Thunderbird

    Have been using MT for 2 years and my provider went down, now I can't send or receive and I get a timed out box in the lower right corner. Stepped up the timed out from 100 to 1000, still times out. Called my provider (Charter.net) and re-opened My Charter email. Charter works fine but I don't like it as well as Mozilla Thunderbird. and I don't have my contacts in Charter. I have removed MT twice and re installed it twice. Charter says they can't help although in my mind they are to blame. Need thoughts or suggestions. Thanks Clayton

    ''Charter works fine ...''
    From your description it isn't quite clear what your problem is.
    ''I have removed MT twice and re installed it twice.''
    What were you trying to achieve with this?
    ''Charter says they can't help''
    Help with what?
    Please state in more detail what your problem is. Troubleshooting Information would probably be useful as well.

  • I can't open Mozilla Thunderbird anymore (i.e. nothing happens upon clicking on it)

    In my program files there is a folder of Mozilla Thunderbird and a folder Mozilla thunderbird(14). Recently (13/1/15 and 11/1/15) an uninstall folder was automatically added to the former and latter Mozilla-folder.
    Since then, I can't open Mozilla thunderbird anymore. Any suggestions, besides uninstall and reinstall?
    Thanks in advance,
    L.
