Mp2 files plays in iTunes, but does not transfer to my iPod

Hi, I have been recording digital radio programs using my Cyrus DAB 8.0. The recordings are on a SD card and are in mp2 format. These easily transfer into iTunes, but do not transfer to my iPod. How can I overcome this. I guess I have to convert the mp2 files, but I do not want to lose quality. The files are sampled at 192KHz. Would they play on an Apple TV? Any help and suggestions please?

You can convert your MP2 files into Apple Loseless. Those files are playable on the iPod and also its a uncompressed format. To do that, you'll have to change some preferences. Go to iTunes>Preferences>Advanced>Import. You can change the conversion format there. To convert the songs, select all the songs that you want to convert. Then option click on the selection. There is the convert to Apple Lossless option. And you can delete the old files if you want to.

  • Podcasts show up/play in iTunes but do NOT sync to the iPod - help!

    Hi,
    I can download and play the strongbad emails podcasts in iTunes. But when I tell itunes to sync it to the iPod, it says 'update' complete, but then no data is actually transferred to the iPod. I read the instructions for how to sync podcasts, and I am doing it exactly right (and my music is syncing fine). It's very weird.
    One thing worth noting is that when I go to the 'sync podcasts' screen, and select 'all podcasts', the podcasts are grayed out (as though it isn't recognizing them as podcasts, even though I downloaded them from the apple store). But then if i select them manually, they are black again and I can select them-- however, as I said, when I try to sync them, no data gets transferred. My best guess is that for some reason iTunes is not recognizing them as being able to be sync'd. Can anyone help?

    I am having similar problems. My iPod says that the podcasts are on there but when I got to listen there is nothing. Any help will be great!

  • Hello, i purchased the movie Changeling and its shows in Itunes library but will not transfer to my Ipod. It has the Icloud icon showing in the top right hand corner and if i click on play it starts to download from Icloud again and it does this each time

    hello i purchased a movie recently and it shows in my Itunes library but will not transfer to my ipod. It has the Icloud icon in the top right hand corner of the cover and if i click on play it starts to download from Icloud again and it does this each time i wish to play it, the same now happens to all my purcased movies which of course uses additional ISP download allowance. Before the recent update and lay out of Itunes this didn't happen i just purchased a movie and downloaded it then synced it to my ipod and enjoyed it. But now this latest movie purchase will not download to my ipod. I have sent the problem to Itumes and if  there is answer i havent received it. Appreciate any advice
    regards john

    Hello hotsone,
    You may need to download a lower resolution version of the movie in order for it to sync to your iPod.

  • My ipod works in itunes but does not appear in "my computer" after I changed the properties

    My ipod works in itunes but does not appear in "my computer" after I changed the properties.
    First off, I'm using Windows XP (and Mac SnowLeopard) Here's how it started. For some reason my ipod started showing up as a camera when I plugged it in. It works fine in itunes, though. But when I tried to access it from "my computer" it only
    showed me the one and only picture I had on my ipod. I deleted that picture hoping it would no longer show up as a camera. When it still did I right-clicked on it in "my computer" and selected "properties". Under "autoplay" I
    chose for it to 'not show up' or 'take no action' or some such deal when I plugged it in. I thought that would stop it from popping up the window that asks whether i want to 'open camera wizard' or 'open camera scanning' or 'open folder to view files' or 'take
    no action' , etc. But now it won't show up in "my computer" at all. I also have a Mac with SnowLeopard. When I plugged my ipod into it my ipod doesn't show up in "finder" either! So basically my problem is not a mechanical one with hardware
    or software; yht ipod still works fine in itunes. I just need to undo the change I made. I've searched all around my preferences, utilities, options, etc. It shows up on my "Device Manager" but not on "Disk Management".
    Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,
    To show up in Windows Explorer, you can try placing the iPod into
    disk mode.
    Moreover, i recommend you to
    restore ipod to factory settings.
    If this issue still persists, locate to device manager, uninstall and reinstall USB Mass Storage Device driver.

  • TS4062 I can't sync music on my computer to my ipod touch; the ipod shows up under Devices in itunes but does not show buttons (Summary etc.) when I click on it. Suggestions?

    I can't sync music already on my computer to my ipod touch; the ipod shows up under Devices in itunes but does not show buttons (Summary etc.) when I click on it. I've read through all the Help tutorials but none of them say what to do if the sync options don't pop up when you highlight the device.  I've already spent way too much time trying to figure this out and it's driving me crazy!  Thanks for any help you can offer.

    This is correct.  It will not show in finder.  It is not an external storage device.
    The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases.  Open itunes connect ipod, do not sync, click File>Transfer Purchases

  • Edu DVD in computer iTunes but does not show up in iPad iTunes or iPad video.  How do I make the DVD contents available on the iPad?

    Educational DVD added successfully to computer iTunes but does not show up in iPad iTunes or iPad video.  How do I make the DVD contents available on the iPad?

    Thanks!  For whatever bizarre reason for which I have no answer - I sync'd my iPad to my MBP the old fashion way (not iCloud) and the movie showed up just fine.  It is Nikon camera 'how to' video. I like to watch them for a better indepth discovery of what the camera can do.  The only weird thing about the hard wire sync is that it was placed in a catagory "home movies" which was never there before...actually it showed up in two places "home movies" and TV shows.
    So, thanks anyway!  Pretty cat!

  • ITunes often does not transfer "time" from CD

    ITunes often does not transfer "time" from the CD -- comes across as "Not available." Other songs on the same CD transfer OK. If there is a "Not available" notation in iTunes, my iPod is unable to play song. Have I "lost" all the previously transferred songs that have "Not available" times? Anyway to recoup them?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    You should post this question in the iTunes forum, where they will be more knowledgable about these issues.

  • I have just bought an iPod Nano to replace my previous one which died,when I open my iTunes it does not show the new iPod, and refuses to allow me to sync my existing library, the new iPod does not show in my computer only on devices, any suggestions ?

    Question: I have just bought an iPod Nano to replace my previous one which "died" My computer does not recognize the new iPod and only shows it in devices and printers. I cannot sync my existing iTunes to the new iPod, there is no way I can do it. Any help please?

    Hey there longislandmacca,
    It sounds like your iPod is not recognized in either Explorer, or in iTunes on your PC. That can be frustrating, expecially when its a new device. I recommend you use the following article to help resolve that issue named:

  • Upload files appears to work, but does not

    Hi all,
    I've set up Admin access to our iTunesU site and everything that should be working up to this point appears to be working...
    EXCEPT
    when trying to upload files to the one default course, either into the generic 'Tab1' tab or a newly created tab, it is not working. It appears to go through all of the motions: we hit Add Track, select the file (I've tried m4v, mov, aac etc) and it will say 'In Queue'. After a moment it will display that all of the file had been uploaded (for instance, 3.7 of 3.7 MB). The prograss bar does not look like it appears properly (it's sort of half-there), but I am not getting any sort of error, and the files never appear in any of the tabs. What are we missing? Is this just not available yet? All the other posts I've read indicate that this should be doable at this point.

    Dual 2GHz G5   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

    Sorry -- I should have specified that. The files are all MP3s.
    They were captured from a Logitech USB microphone using Audacity 1.2.4b (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) and exported using the LAME library for Mac OS X (http://spaghetticode.org/lame/) on an Intel iMac running Mac OS X 10.4.6.
    The ID3 tags of the files were then edited using iTunes 6.0.4 on a PowerBook G4 running Mac OS X 10.4.6.
    The problem files (you can see them in our site as "ITS Coffee Break for 62806" and "ITS Coffee Break for 61906" do not display the following track information within the site:
    * Name (displays file name instead)
    * Artist
    * Album (overwritten with the tab name "Course - ITS Coffee Break", presumably because of the default track preferences"
    If I do a "Get Info" on the file from the track list, I see that the following meta information is not available:
    * Name
    * Artist
    * Year
    * Album (same as above)
    Interestingly, the "disc number" field, which was not entered in our metadata, appears with the value "1" on the site.
    In the file that did upload properly -- "ITS Coffee Break for 6/13/2006" lost its "Year' meta data, but the rest of the fields display their information properly.
    One final note -- if I download one of the problem tracks, some of the meta information comes back -- on "ITS Coffee Break for 61906", the Artist and Year fields were filled in, but the name field was incorrect.
    I hope this helps. I plan on experimenting with an AAC file next to see if it makes a difference.

  • Ipod classic latest version not recognized in itunes also downloaded 400 plus songs, can play them in itunes but can not download on to ipod any idears /

    latest 6th gen 160 gb ipod not recognized in itunes, have done all the checks, has been confirmed in itunes sync, Also down loaded 470 new songs into itunes,Can play them,but can not down load back into my ipod, any thoughts? Question,

    See my answer under "iPod 160GB not recognized". The steps I took to fix this problem include completely uninstalling and then re-installing iTunes 9.0.2, restoring my iPod to factory settings while in disk mode, following the Apple instructions of repairing the permissions (outlined in my other post), and even after all that my iPod "crashes" after syncing more than 300 or so songs. I hope that Apple will come out with a real fix for this problem soon. Best of luck.

  • ITunes music will play on iTunes but will not play in my iPod

    I downloaded music from iTunes. It plays on my computer and shows up on my iPod. However, it will not play. When I attempt to play the iPod says "now playing" skipping all 25 tracks. The music is in the purchased, artist, music, etc. folders.
    Any thoughts?

    E.g, click on Forum: Using iTunes for Mac and you will see a 'Post New Topic' icon at about top left of the window.
    Use the 'Add to Library...' option from the File menu and navigate to the DVD.
    Be sure to tick the checkbox ' Copy files to.....etc.' in Preferences>Advanced>General.
