MP3 audio voice changes

Hi. I've used Capitvate for a couple of years now but have
never imported MP3 audio narration before. What I'm running into is
that when I play back the audio clips (recorded by a woman) it
distorts the voice, slows it down, and it sounds like a man but
only plays about half of the clip before time runs out. If you
click on the audio clip and press 'Play', the voice sounds normal.
I've played with all of the audio settings but it still distorts
the audio clip. Thanks.

I had this same problem and solved it by converting the MP3
file to a constant, fairly low bit rate. I used Switch or WavePad
software to do this. I found that using an MP3 file with a Constant
Bit Rate of 112 kps works fine. Higher bit rates or using variable
bit rate can cause the audio to slow down.Just one more bizarre
Captivate bug (among many).

  • How do you create a save as default folder for MP3 files used Captivate text to audio voices files?

How do you create a save as default folder for MP3 files used Captivate text to audio voices files?

    Hi Ed
Thank you for contacting me, however I already know how to save text to
audio files via timeline using the Export feature.
So my question was not entirely clear and I apologize for that.  To explain
further, whenever I save a text to audio file, captivate takes me to a
default save as folder where I then have browse back to my production
folder where I am keeping all my Txt to Aud files.  This is very tedious
process when you have alot of files to save.  So my question was is there a
way to configure captivate so I can make my production folder the default
file for whenever I save a Txt to Audio file through Export feature that
the system automatically takes me to that production folder, and I am
spared the long tedious process of saving the file manually to the
    prodcution folder I want.
I have copy the pathway to the production folder in the URL filed in the
Save As dialoge box and that workaround as cut the work down but I still
have to paste that URL field to point the file to the right folder. So it
would be nice if I could do everything automatically.  Microsoft makes this
capability in their MS Office applications, so I was thinking Adobe might
do the same thing.  Your help with this would be appreicated,
    Thanks

  • Importing audio voice file changes the pitch in Logic Express

I noticed something weird with my Logic Express 7. When I import an audio voice file. The pitch seems to be lower in Logic when I play the file than compared to the original file. Does anyone know what could be causing the pitch change? I though I was going crazy, but something is definitely change the pitch when I import an audio file.

    Hi,
The only thing I can think of right off is that the original is a higher sampling rate file than what you have set for LE.

  • How do you change a music file from quicktime to a mp3 audio file

i dont know how to change my current music file from quicktime to a mp3 audio file, how do you do it?
If you are using a "basic" Mac OS X v10.8.4 install/codec configuration then you can use iTunes to convert to MP3 audio. It has a built in MP3 encoder which you can set up as your default audio import/conversion compression format. Otherwise it depends on how you system's codec components are configured and/or what media applications you have installed.

  • Cp6: .mp3 audio being inadvertantly converted to .wav!

I am having an inexplicable problem.  I had a WBT crash on me because (I think) the .wav audio files I was using were too much (memory).  So, I asked my IT dept. to get me something that converts .wav files into .mp3 (for smaller files).  They installed "Audacity" to help me.  Audacity does convert the audio into .mp3, and my Cp 6 WBT imports each .mp3 file into each respective slide, but when I go back into each slide that has an .mp3 file installed, each .mp3 audio file is inexplicably converted back to .wav!!!
If anyone can assist, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks.

    Hi there
Internally the audio files are always converted to WAV as well as MP3. But on the way out to the finished product, only the MP3 is used as it is the smaller and more efficient of the two.
At least that's how it worked in the past. Perhaps something changed? Or are you just freaking out because you see wav in your project?
    Cheers... Rick

  • How do I turn off automatic streaming of MP3 audio?

I like to download podcasts directly to my desktop so I can later transfer them to my Sansa media player. Now that I've installed Quicktime podcasts stream and play automatically in my Firefox browser window. What settings do I change to turn off automatic streaming of MP3 audio?

Well, in fact I have the same problem. And by the way, I dislike marketing tricks as proposing that you buy the pro-version of quicktime if you ever want to download mp3-files again (as a right click on the quicktime browser-player does).
I already switched off every file link and stream-related ghismo that points towards quicktime as player, in the quickime control in control panel as wel on any other place I could find.
But the only thing I acchieved is, that IE now starts downloading as soon as I go to a link to an MP3 file and after some time it says "ready".
An firefox stubbornly keeps opening the quicktime player.
I tend to disagree with IE as I can't find any file on my system, with regardless what searching technique.
Is there a way to get things back to normal without uninstalling Quicktime and reinstalling my browsers (wich is useless as Itunes will prompt me to reinstall quicktime)???

  • WMV3Server plays avi files containing WMV3/9 video and MP3 audio

    WMV3Server
To play avi files with WMV3/9 video and MP3 audio encoding on Mac OS X as of 2005-01-24 you will need:
Mac OS X 10.2 or later
    WMV3Server
Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X
An .avi file containing WMV3 video and MP3 audio.
    Instructions:
Launch the WMV3Server java application and click the "Open" button.
A standard open-dialog window appears. Either navigate to the avi video file or drag the file into the open window to have the window switch to the folder that contains the avi video file. Select the file and click the "Open" button or press return on the keyboard. The open-dialog window should close.
Next, click the "Start" button. The movie will be cached and WMV3Server will display "Server Started"
Open Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X. Pull down the "File" menu on the menu bar at the top of the screen and select "Open URL..." Enter the following address:
    mmst://localhost:1755/
Windows Media Player should connect, buffer and play.
The download page (in Japanese) for WMV3Server is here:
    http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Bay/8128/
    The download link is:
    http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Bay/8128/WMV3Server-0.4.zip

Update: By playing around with the settings in the Default Applications preference pane (a free download) I somehow got the files to open automatically in QuickTime Player (with Flip4Mac WMV 2.0.1 installed) and they now play (instead of showing white video as they had previously. Unfortunately, I don't recall what I changed.
Here's a sample file (apparently a beer commercial.):

  • Assistance needed in trying to import MP3 audio file into Slide Show

I get the following message when trying to import an MP3 audio file into a slideshow in Organizer 9 "The selected file can not be played because your system does not have the required compressor/decompressor(codec) installed. I am pulling the file from my Itunes folder and I have not had problems with any other file I have downloaded from itunes and changed to an MP3 format.  Does anyone have any ideas?  I really want to use this song in a slideshow for my parents 50th Anniversary.

Best GUESS is that DRM is getting in the way of the file being used outside of iTunes (DRM = Digital Rights Mgmt = Copy Protection)

  • How can i get magic voice changer on my nokia c6?

hi just wondering how can i get magic voice changer on my nokia c6? please if anyone can help thanks!

Make sure your own music files are saved in the proper folder (Digital sounds) whether in your memory card or the phone memory, the location should still be:
    Sound Clips > Digital Sounds.
If your songs/mp3s are saved anywhere else, it will not show up as a selectable ringing tone.
You can move your songs through File Manager on your phone if they are in the wrong location (Options > Move to folder).
Hope that clarifies it for you.

  • How do you make MP3 audio files?

I'm running for public office, and a local newspaper invited candidates to submit statements, along with MP3 audio files for display on its website.
So how does one make an MP3 audio file? Is this something I can do with my MacBook Pro and Leopard alone, or do I need to obtain a special software program?
    Thanks.

    Hi David!
As Francine mentioned, you will want to use the audio production software that came with your Mac, called Garageband. This will let you record speech, and even layer in music, etc. And when everything is set as you like it, the sound file can be exported in a variety of formats. It will provide a great basic audio recording solution for strictly voice and talking, but you can take things one step further and layer in a music track as an intro or outro if desired for a little more flair, edit out mistakes, etc. A great program that comes right with your Mac. There are nice basic tutorials on the Apple website which give an introduction to Garageband. Good luck David!

  • Audio import changes speed of audio

    Hi,
I am trying to edit and mix sound effects and music for a FLASH animation in ProTools.  After much trial and error I figured out how to make an accurate Quick Time of my FLASH file to spot sounds to in ProTools.  The problem is when I import my audio into FLASH, it speeds up making it out of sync with the picture.  I did several tests and it looks like for ever minute of ProTools the audio in FLASH speeds up 2 frames.  Both programs are running at 24 FPS.
It is not a NTSC vs Flim speed issue.  All other programs read my PT audio file correctly and show it to be the correct length with the SFX where I placed them.  FLASH speeds it up, making my animation not time to the music and effects causing me to painfully resync all my layers.
How do I accurately export a sound file into an AIFF format and import it into FLASH without FLASH changing the speed?  I have my audio set to Stream as it should be.  After 3 minutes my audio is 8 frames (1/3 of a second) out of sync with the picture.  This is totally unacceptable to me and my client.
I am highly versed in ProTools and other video software but am brand new to flash.  Ultimately I want my FLASH timeline to be in sync with my PT timeline.  Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Thank you for the ideas.  I really want to import a WAV but I can't make FLASH CS5 import it.  It says "One or more files were not imported because there was a problem reading them."  My WAV file is readable by every other program just fine.  I made an AIFF of exactly the same audio with the same export settings in PT and FLASH will import that except it changes the speed by .1432%
*Note:  This is not an NTSC vs FLIM speed issue otherwise it would be eactly .1%.  I am 100% confident my audio file from PT is at film speed and it does import correctly into other programs like Final Cut without speeding up.
I made an export from PT as an MP3 CBR and that audio file speed up even more.  It was over 1/2 second off right from the beginning.  I don't know how to use the Adobe Media Encoder or what an FLV file is but I am sure I could figure it out.  In theory I shouldn't have to do that as FLASH should import audio without changing the speed for any given format.
Again my FLASH setting for the audio file is set to STREAM.
While we are talking about FLASH, I'd like to figure out how to change my timeline to black and white for a given range of frames in the middle of my animation.  How do I set this up so the B&W effect affects all the layers in the stack for a given range of frames?  I am very new to FLASH so you may have to give me exact steps on what to select and how to change it to a movie clip etc... if that is the way to do this.
    Thanks,
    David

What if it was a digital radio, would that make things easier by way of using just a 3.5mm to USB cable? Especially because a quick search of a USB Audio Interface brought up some expensive results.
Also, as a possible alternative, after some extensive research online, I've found an iMic USB Audio Device by Griffin that is essentially an adaptor with a USB cable on one end and a Line In port on the other, thus allowing me to connect a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable from the digital radio to the adapter, and then the adapter goes into the MBP USB port. It's on Amazon and it claims to function as a way to plug microphones and other external audio equipment to it. It seems pretty straightforward, which sometimes has me thinking it's too good to be true.
The output from your radio is analog, regardless of whether the radio is 'digital' or not.
You need a USB audio interface. The iMic is a USB audio interface.

  • Problem with MP3 audio books - truncating

My shuffle is truncating the end of each part (track?) of my MP3 audio books. It loses the last one or two sentences. Is there something I can do to fix this?
I'm using the OverDrive Media Console to borrow books from the library. I have no problem with WMA format books (they appear as audiobooks in the shuffle listing). The MP3 books show up as "Music".
I'm manually managing music, which is required to transfer audio from OverDrive to my shuffle.
    MC754LL/A iPod shuffle 2 GB
    Model A1373
    software version is 1.0.1

I use "My Media Mall" (http://www.mymediamall.net) to check out audio books from the library. They come in 2 formats - mp3 & WMA. When I check out a book it downloads to OverDrive Media Console. Then in OverDrive I transfer the book to my shuffle (through the manually mange the storage option). If I then start itunes, I can see what's been downloaded and what all the properties are. By default WMA books are loaded as audiobooks and there is an automatic play list created. The mp3 books are loaded, by default, into the music section.
Per your original suggestion, I converted the "music" attribute to an "audiobook" attribute, which automatically move the files and created a playlist for the book. It did not stop the truncation problem. I then converted the book back to music, and selected the "gapless album" feature. This has significantly reduced the amount of truncation so that it's gone from a couple of sentences to less than a full sentence.
If I listen to the book on my computer (windows) through itunes, there are no gaps, and no problem automatically finding the next part to play.
FYI - each audiobook is made of several parts (usually 8 - 11 for the books I listen to). Each part contains multiple chapters. Some books only break parts over a chapter break, others seem to divide the parts into semi-equal sizes. If in the shuffle I "skip to next track", it starts the next part. The voice-over feature on the shuffle announces each playlist (eg. book1, book2) and then each individual part (book1 part 01, book2 part 02, etc.). Usually when I start a book, I use the voice-over to find the playlist instead of locating a specific part. If I've been listening to the book via itunes, then I'll have to step through the playlist until the second portion where it lists the individual portions.

  • Mp3 audio books with Itunes and Ipod

I want to drag my mp3 audio books into the Audio books section of Itunes!
This can not really be a complicated technical problem to solve. The resolution according to all internet forums is to convert all mp3 files to aac and then manually rename them to m4b. With 40 GB audio books this would take five and and a half years just for the conversion and then the renaming remains. A much simpler solution would be to enable me to drag and drop my books into the correct section. Preferably when i import them into Itunes but the option should also work within itunes from Music to Audio books.
    Sincerely.
    Nils

We (meaning forum users) can't change iTunes for you. If you don't like the existing resolution, your only option is to give feedback to Apple. This forum is not for that.
