MP3 Car Input not working with Iphone

When I plug my Iphone into my car's mp3 Aux input using my current mini plug connector (which works fine with my Ipod)) the music continues to play out of the iphone and not through my cars' stereo. The car is set correctly as the ipod works fine. Am I doing something worong?? Does the iphome not work in that situation? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

because of the iphone's recessed headphone jack, it's likely your cable is not fully inserting into the jack. don't try to force it in there. people have done things from shaving down the plastic on a jack to trying to shop for adapters that fit.

  • Aftermarket car charger not working with iPhone 4

I have and aftermarket input in my 2005 Honda Odyssey. It includes a 30-pin connector which provides the line level input and a charging to an ipod. I have been using just fine with my 2nd gen ipod and wife's 2g iPod Touch with no problem. I just bought a new iPhone 4 last week and plug it in and get the message "this accessory is not optimized for this device" "charging is not supported". Is this just a software block or is the power requirements that much different with the iPhone. The input works and the iPhone even respond to a pause signal when I shut off the car (input device pauses your ipod when you shut off the car), but no charging. I hate to think I have to shell out another $50-60 for a new input for my car. Any thoughts?
I can't remember the name of the input device. I think it might be PIE.
    Thanks

"Scosche Passport - it's a quality product that solves your problem.... "
Let me stop you right there. The scosche passport WAS a good product. I purchased one last year at the apple store when I was making a 9 hour trip up north and needed to charge my iPhone 3GS on the way. It was a brilliant product, all the way up to the launch of iOS 4.
I don't know HOW Apple botched this update, but the fact that I am now using the same hardware (the 3GS), attached to the same scosche adapter in my car, and a software update to 4.0 has broken my ability to charge. It is absolutely insane.
Needless to say I'm furious. I'll be ringing Apple on Tuesday, as they're not signing 3.1.3 anymore, so I can't even go back to a chargable phone.

  • Appletv remote app and airplay not working with iphone 4S

I have the latest appleTV.  I have the remote app loaded onto my ipad3 and iphone 4S.  The app is not working with iphone 4S, nor do I get the airplay icon, hence I can't mirrior my phone on appleTV.  It used to work.  I have deleted and reloaded the app, and still nothing.  It worked fined until a month ago or so.  I have enabled home sharing.
The app and airlplay are working just fine with the ipad3.  I have the ipad and appleTV hooked up to my router using 5Ghz, and the iphone only connects to the 2Ghz network on the same router.  I don't think this is the issue, because it worked before.
Also, when I click on the remote app on the iphone, to add an itunes library, a code pops up on the phone, which I enter into itunes on my Win7 PC.  Nothing seems happed on the computer when I enter the code.  Could this have anything to do with recent appleTV or itunes updates?  Any possible solutions?

It seems like I am having the same problem.
I have the latest AppleTV 1080, imac 27", ipad, ipad2, 2 iphone 4, all with the latest iOS. After I have the AppleTV connected, a few problems showed up:
    (1) ipad plus iphones cannot airplay photo to AppleTV. After the play button and the grey screen displayed "the playing msg on AppleTV", nothing happened. it is the same for ipad/iphone.
    (2) iMac not Airplay to AppleTV
    (3) Airplay Mirroring not working
    The following are done:
    - Home sharing enabled
    - To test the devices are connected. I set a passowrd for Airplay and the ipad/iphone both requested for it so they are network and devices are ok

  • $80 Apple in-ear headphones not working with iPhone 4

I spent $80 on a pair of in ear headphones and they do not work with iPhone 4. I can listen to music and talk but the volume controls are completely nonfunctional. So I used them on my friends 3GS and they work fine. How can Apple come out with a new phone that wont work with their own products? I used to love Apple until this F@#$ing iPhone 4 came out.

According to Apple, they should work with the 4... http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA850G/A?fnode=MTY1NDA1MA&mco=MTM3NTM0Mjg
Are they plugged in to your iPhone all the way?

  • AirPlay does not work with iPhone 4 s or iPad.Remote doesn´t work as well

AirPlay does not work with iPhone 4 s or iPad.Remote doesn´t work as well.
WLAN is working, I can use Youtube on my AppleTV, but I can´t connect to my computer or use airplay on my iPhone or iPad.

Something is not configured correctly that is creating issues with your AppleTV.  You can disconnect it from the TV and power, and then plug it into your computer with a micro-USB cable.  After launching iTunes on your computer, you will be able to restore it to default settings and upgrade the software.

  • Griffin RoadTrip not working with iPhone 3G any more

    Hi,
my Griffin RoadTrip is not working any more with my iPhone 3G.
Always message that this accessory is not compatible with iPhone, but before, it worked and now it doesn't any more.
(On Griffin case, it's mentioned that the accessory is designed for iPhone 3G)
    any tricks for this?
    Thx

Mine was working fine for about 6 months.  Then, I started getting a "not compatible message."  I called Griffin and they suggested a soft reset of the iphone 4s.  The message went away but now the FM transmitter is not transmitting.  Griffin sent me a brand new one (free) but the FM transmitter still does not work.  That tells me that the iphone changed -- probably after an update.

  • Corporate Email does not work with iPhone

I'm not a tech wiz so my apologies if this is very elementary. My IT guy said the iPhones will not work with MS Exchange on our server. We currently support Blackberry and Windows Mobile devices such as the Q, Treos, Blackjack. He did mention that my email could work through the POP server, but it wasn't secure. I've tried setting up the POP email to pull my corporate email, but keep getting the Authentication Failure message. Any suggestions on what to try?

If Windows mobile devices can connect using ActiveSync, then your iPhone should be able to connect the same way.
I used a HTC TytnII to sync my mail, calendar et contacts. I got the iphone and entered the exact same informations (server IP adress, user name and login) and it just worked.
You need however to know the exact capitalization of your email adress, as described in your MS Exchange server. To know that, create a message in outlook, enter your name in the "to" field and double-click on your name. In the information box, you should have numerous tabs, and the last one gives you the capitalization (in the "SMTP" field).
    Good luck

What features of iOS 6 will not work with the iPhone 4s?  There are over 200 added features, but what will be missing on a 4s that you will get with a 5?

All of the features will work, however, some features wont work depending on what country you live in. If you life in America, canada or the UK you dont have to worry about anything

  • Car stereo not compatible with iPhone since iOS 7

Since installing iOS 7, my iPhone 4S is no longer compatible with my Pioneer car stereo to use video. I can still access my music and contact for bluetooth, but when I try to use Netflix for example, it gives an error message on my phone. This was working normally when I was using iOS 6, so there is a glitch with iOS 7. I can't seem to get any help from Pioneer or Apple support...so I'm asking you folks to help me please! Is there a way to get this working again or do I have to wait for the next software update?

In another thread on this issue, Brendan writes:
Turns out restarting my car and/or rebooting my iphone "fixed" the issue. Apparently this was unrelated to the iOS 7.2 upgrade. Honda + iPhone has been rock solid (even if the Honda Fit UI is terrible), so I'm not sure what to make of this problem. Maybe a glitch? Who knows.
Here is the URL for that thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/25211736?ac_cid=tw123456#25211736
His suggestion worked for me: turn off your car, completely shut-off your phone and let it sit a few minutes. Then reboot phone and start car and try again.
    Good luck!

  • Preinstall Conection 4 Ipod On Nissan Versa SL, Not work with IPhone, Why?

I bought a Nissan Versa SL, fully equiped, which comes integraded the conection cable for Ipod (which has a label to keep with the lates update).
Months later I bought an IPhone (On my understanding it is IPod and Phone in one), I plug it in my car and the system does not recognise the Iphone, It does not charge the batterie of the phone either, It does not want to play the music.
Is there anything I can do, or any explanation about this situation, why does not work?
(Of course i have to come back to the dealership looking for answers, but in the mean time), if someone has any answer or comment about it, will be gladdly appreciated.

Most auto charging systems use the FireWire pins of the dock connector to deliver power (cheaper for them, since FW can take the full 12 V of the car electrical system, whereas USB charging requires a step down to 5 V). Apple has phased out support for FireWire charging of devices. The iPhone 3G, the 2nd gen iPod Touch, and the 4th gen nano cannot use the FireWire pins for power.
The only option (unless Nissan will modify the system for you) is a power converting dongle, like one of these:

  • IOs4 upgrade, Now car stereo doesnt work with iphone

upgraded to Ios4 a few hours ago. Went to my car and plugged it into the usb port of my pioneer stereo and it says " Not compatible "
My stereo has always worked with my iphone.
PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP . APPLE

I've got the AutoPilot from Griffin, and I haven't seen any issues with it. Anyone with one of those and have concerns shouldn't worry; it'll continue to work.
Granted, it interfaces with the iPhone via the dock connector, but eventually goes into the car's audio system via the auxiliary jack, so the USB connection is probably what the issue is with other audio systems.
I've also noticed the "This accessory isn't meant for your device" message doesn't give you the choice of going into Airplane Mode; it just reminds you that you'll probably get interference.

  • Hands Free Link (HFL) on Acura TL does not work with iPhone 3G

I pair iPhone successfully, and can pick up the incoming calls. However, when I make an outgoing call on iPhone, and tell it to use HFL, the call is not transferred to HFL.
HFL works fine with my Treo 650, including picking the outgoing calls.
Is there a software update or setting for either iPhone or Acura?
    Thanks,
    Inna

InnaB, this is an issue with iPhone. This is just MY speculation, hope Apple will release a fix soon. You can also leave a feedback here http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and PLEASE enter specific information of vehicle like Model, year and type of radio or Audio System your vehicle is equipped with when you fill out that feedback. I have encountered similar issues with other makes of cars too as I do a lot of testing of cars. There are some vehicles that work fine and then there are some that exhibit concerns like yours.
On a side note have you tried to RESET NETWORK settings and tried? Also unpair ALL BT sets, re-pair the iPhone to your vehicle and try it. Some instances I have encountered where the IiPhone was STILL paired to a HEADSET, it would NOT release it to work with another BT device. Some car audio systems have what's called an "Auto Pairing" which works awesome with iPhone, where you DONOT have to worry at all, start the vehicle, turn on audio system, iPhone auto pairs to that system. I donot know IF your vehicle is equipped with that design, check in the user manual of that system please.
