Mp3 cd burning

I would like to burn mp3 cds with iTunes for my car stereo.
And the problem is that I can't organise my cds like I want, that is I would like to have folders: for exemple, lets say the lettre for my cd player is E, i would like it to do:
E:\Artist\Album\
is it possible using iTunes as the program to burn mp3 cds?

If you go to Preferences>advanced>burning You will see various choices of disk format including Audio , MP3 and Data CDs.
But iTunes will only burn MP3 tracks onto an MP3 CD so it won't do purchased music. If you really want your purchased music as MP3, you have to burn an audio CD and rip it back in MP3 format.
As for arranging your tracks, you would need to do that in the playlist you burn from.
You could also check out the iTunes help on burning.

  • Missing ID3 Tags on MP3 CD burned with iTunes

I have a Sony CD Player in my car. This Player supports mp3 CD's. To Burn such CD's with iTunes is not the Problem.
iTunes seems not to set the ID3-Tag in it's Libary. Is it possible to set the iTunes-Libary-Informations (as they are displayed on my Screen) as ID3 Tags to the Files ? Are there Risks within ?

Ooops. You just created a lot of work by erasing the tag info.
I think there are some scripts out there that can fill in ID3 tags based on file names.
This page is from an apple discussions regular poster:
    http://samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/scripts.asp
You could try the "TagFromFilename" script.
For future, itunes does not have the ability to update tag info like Windows Media Player does. I suppose you could see what WMP will do, before trying that script.
Since I haven't used either one to do this, I can't say how well either works.

  • Car won't read CDR of MP3's burned from MAC (works from PC)

    Hi-
I just recently switched from PC to MAC (27" iMAC - Snow Leopard).
My car can read/play mp3s from a CDR...I've been doing this successfully with my old PC. However, I just recently burned some new Data CDRs (full of mp3s) on my new iMAC and my car will not read them.
I burned the data CDRs using the program "Burn". The problem is not the type of CDRs (same kind I used on the old PC and play fine in the car).
I guess my next test will be to burn another data CDR of mp3s, but this time NOT put them in folders...just all in the root directory. I wonder if that is the problem...that my car can't read the MAC code related to the folder structure (though my car can read the folder structure burned from PCs). Even if this works, it ***** playing a disc full of mp3s all in the same root folder, in a car, cuz it never reads your file-name structure in the exact order you want it to.
I'd appreciate any helpful advice/insight anyone may have on this problem.
    Thanks!

OS X adds some additional metadata when burning data CDs. The extensions are written in such away that readers should ignore them if they don't know what to do with them, but it's possible your CD player is buggy or doesn't fully comport with ISO9660.
Have you tried burning the MP3 CD with iTunes? (Create a playlist, click "Burn Disc" at the bottom right, select "MP3 CD".)

  • Itunes mp3 cd burning

    Help!
my car mp3-cd player does not play my mp3 cds. even my dvd-player (jvc) doesn`t play the mp3 cd.
    it says: "non playable disk"
did i made a mistake? i switched itunes to burn mp3 cd, even data-cd, but both does not work.

What kind of media are you using? Many CD players, including those that support MP3 CDs, don't like CD-RW media. If you're using CD-RW switch to CD-R and see how that works for you.

  • Converting mp4 to mp3 for burning to CD

I can only burn an Mp3 CD if the songs are already in an Mp3 format. The problem is that my play list is all in Mp4 format. How can I convert my whole play list to Mp3's so I can make a CD? If this is possible please give step by step instructions if you can....
    Thank you.

If you want to make an mp3 CD (to put a lot of songs on one CD, as opposed to a 'regular' CD), then you have to convert your AAC files to mp3 format first, then burn as mp3 CD.
To convert your AAC files, if they are not protected you can simply change your import preferences to mp3 and then right-click on one or more songs and select "Convert to mp3...". The downside is that iTunes will create duplicates (the original AAC and mp3), and you'll lose some fidelity in transcoding like this.
If your AAC files are protected, then we're not allowed to help you get around the DRM on these boards.

  • My new MacBook Pro won't recognize contents of photo and MP3 DVDs burned on a Windows PC.

When I insert a data disc burned on my PC (Windows Vista), my Mac says that the DVD is blank. This is not true. I have tried numerous DVD-Rs which contain mainly photos and MP3s. They all work in my PS3, but not my Mac.
I have hundreds of gig in both photos and music that I really want to transfer to my new Mac. Any suggenstions?
    Thank you in advance!

The two most common causes of this behavior are:
    1. The session wasn't closed after burning.
    2. The disk wasn't closed after burning.
So, try again & properly close the session.

  • Import from cd on aac or mp3 to burn back onto cd?

I've noticed, belatedly, that when I copy a CD onto my Mac it's saving the songs as AAC rather than MP3 as it used to. The Help menu kind of implies that although AAC is a better format, MP3 might be better if you're intending to burn the tracks onto CD. Am I misreading that, or should I revert to importing at MP3 for my for-my-own-amusement compilation CDs?
    Thanks,
    Iain

The problem with both mp3 an AAC are they don't save the music at the same quality as the original. I know most people don't have the drive space to store the files long-term in the AIFF full-quality format but if you are doing this over the short term I would import as AIFF, burn the compilation, then delete the AIFF files. If you want the music on your computer too then I would import as mp3 or AAC for the long term and AIFF for the short term.

  • How to enhance mp3s for burning onto disc

I have some real old mp3s I want to burn to disc but I have to keep running back and forth changing the volume is there a program that can at least get them all playing the same volume?
    thanks
    db

Note that the recommendation to use Sound Check would only work for audio CDs, and not MP3 CDs. From your original post it's not clear which disc format you're using.

  • 7.6.2-burned mp3 CDs won't play in players that 7.5-burned versions did

I have discovered yet another beef with iTunes 7.6.2... does anyone else have this problem?
mp3 CDs burned in iTunes 7.6.2 on my Intel iMac will not play in my car player, while identical mp3 CDs burned in itunes 7.5x on my iBook G4 WILL play in my car player (too bad my main library is on the iMac). The 7.6.2-burned CD's will play in my son's new car player, but not mine, which is a couple years older.
What the heck??? Is there some hidden change that now mp3 CDs burned in the newest iTunes will only play in some kinds of players, whether or not the players are all marked as mp3 compatible?
What does anyone know about this issue?
Because i have to decide whether to buy a new car stereo, or deinstall 7.6.2 and go back to some earlier version (i really don't like to navigate iPod menus while driving, i prefer CDs, so using an iPod instead isn't a good solution for me). or is it the intel iMac that is causing the problem? It doesn't matter what burner or user account i use- i tried an external burner, and i tried another user account. The burned files are identical, they aren't an issue.
I am in OS 10.4.11 on the iMac and 10.4.7 on the iBook, if that makes any difference (frankly, i'm afraid to upgrade the iBook to newest versions at this point).

    Just on a hunch.
Pop one of your 7.6.2 burned MP3 disks in a computer and check if the music is nested in folder by the Artist and Album. Then do the same with one of your older burned disks.
Some older units will not accept MP3 disks with the media grouped in folders. I found this to be the case on a couple of MP3 capable machines that are just a few years old.
My current version of iTunes (7.7 needed for the iPhone v2) seems to only burn MP3 files nested in folders. I found a machine that had not been updated and was still running iTunes 7.0.2 and burned an MP3 disc with all the files numbered and in the root of the disc.
Also, make some older MP3 units do not like the variable bit rate and may also be choosy about the bit rate is. ie 128 vs 160 vs 320

  • Can't play PC burned MP3 discs w/out adding to library???

    This is really annoying me...
When I insert an audio cd, an mp3 cd burned with iTunes, or even music files burned as a data cd with iTunes, the disc shows up in my source list, and I can play it without having the songs added to my library.
When I'm done listening, I eject the CD, and it's as if it was never there.
My roommate has all these mp3 discs that he burned on his pc (I think as data discs) that do not show up on the source list.
I usually drag the disc icon to a new playlist in order to listen to it.
I turned off "copy files to iTunes music folder", because I don't want his files on my hard-drive.
But the file names still get added to my library and when I'm done listening I have to go in and delete them all - Major pain in the butt.
Is there a way around this?
Even if I have to use a different app to listen to his discs - that's fine.
I just want to be able to pop in his discs, listen to them, and then pop 'em out when I'm done, without them leaving any 'residue' on my Mac.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dennis

  • ITunes - trouble burning Playlist converted to MP3?

tried burning a playlist, received error that the songs had to be originally MP3 to burn to a CD disk.  Followed instructions on how to convert those songs to MP3, which I did, and when I tried to burn the converted playlist, received that same message.
    anyone able to assist?
    thanks
    Don

    Zimmer,
When you convert tracks with iTunes (or most any other conversion program), it creates new files in the indicated format, but leaves the originals in place.
In your case, you have to go into the playlist, remove the originals, and add in the new MP3s.  They you will be able to burn an MP3 CD.

  • Itunes 6.0 - if download is on playlist, it won't burn - Please help

Hi Everyone (and Toonz, perhaps we can continue where we left off in Dec)
Basically my problem is that I can't burn any purchased tracks from Itunes. I can burn uploaded stuff from my own cd collection, but not if it has a purchased track on the playlist.
It checks playlist, ticks the tracks then freezes/hangs and I have to control alt delete to get out of Itunes entirely.
So far I've updated firmware, tried it with firewall and security system off and pop ups off, tried both cd drives. Tried different burn speeds and cd makes.
What I have done is managed to burn it to data disc, but then of course I can't play it on anything other than the pc, so that's no use.
This all started when I had to re-load Itunes to version 6 after a pc crash. The previous version was fine.
I've updated to the very latest version of Itunes (6.0.2 I think) just the other day, but no joy.

I personally feel that this has something to do with licenses but that's just a hunch.
Does anyone know how licenses can be renewed, or se-sent to my computer to authorise me to use the tracks (Media Player has a function that does this)?
I'm willing to try whatever people suggest if I haven't tried it already.
    Jane

    Janieburmy,
You can always deauthorize all your machines from your store account page — just log in and view your account settings and there's a button to deauth all your machines. Which just means for the other machines, it will ask you for your store ID / password the next time you play a purchased song.
So, let's try the filter experiment.
On the start menu, click on "run". in the space it provides enter "regedit" without the quotes. This will open the registry editor.
Find the heading HKEYLOCALMACHINE. Click on it.
Find the heading SYSTEM inside it. Click on it.
    Find the heading CurrentControlSet. Click
    Find the heading Control. Click
    Find the heading Class. Click
Find the heading that begins {4D36E965- Click
Go up to the Registry menu and select "Export Registry File... command. Make sure the "Selected Branch" radio button is checked and save that off somewhere that you can find it.
    Delete the key named LowerFilter.
Select the key named UpperFilter, right click, select "modify". Then edit the text in the dialog to just say "GEARAspiWDM" followed by hitting the return key, the return after the word is important.
Then reboot, and see what iTunes does.
To get the system back to its previous state. Run Regedit again and use the Registry menu -> Import Registry File... command and select the file that you saved off in the first section.
I'm particularly interested in getting rid of the "AFS2K" driver in the chain — that's a old driver from a company that hasn't existed in years.
To answer your last question, why am I doing this?... I'm paying off a karmic debt. And someday we'll start that Tequila for Toonz paypal account and then I'll be set.
