Mp3 cd problem

so i burn my mp3 cd and when i play the songs in my cars stereo some of the info that the screen reads isn't there, like artist or album or even song title. the song plays fine and all, but the screen reads "no title" or "no artist" or "no album" instead of reading me the info about the song. i really want this fixed. help?

Before you burn a disc, you must first go "Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Burning". In the tick box, you must tick 'Included CD text'. This will only inclune text that actually exists.
This only applies if you are burning an audio CD.
The original poster is is burning an MP3 CD which does not have CD-TEXT.

  • Mp3 duplication problem

    For some reason my .mp3 files show up twice and in some cases three times in the media player. The strange thing is that I've tried to delete all music files and they still show up. I also tried doing a complete erase of all data using the Pre erase function and the mp3's all show up again when installed apps sync up again. It's like all mp3's have been merged with application data and sync'd to my profile.
    Has anyone else run into this?

  • Rsync/unison to/with mp3-player, problem with permissions

    Hi,
    I'm trying to sync my music database with my mp3-player via rsync or unison, but both complain about the mp3 being a read-only device (It's detected as a FAT32 harddrive, btw.).
    The interesting thing is: It is not mounted read-only. I can copy music onto it just fine via e.g. thunar, only the two sync programs complain.
    What could be the problem?

    The error messages are variations of:
    rsync: chgrp "/media/path/to/file/on/mp3" failed: Read-only file system (30)
    Seems like it's permissions-related, so maybe I should get rid of the "keep permissions" option implied in rsync -a. I'll try that and the udev rule, thanks.
    Another thing: Unison takes AGES to check for changes (and I do mean ages, ~10s per file). Is that normal?
    [edit:]
    Another error:
    rsync: mkstemp "/media/path/to/file/on/mp3/*.ogg.w7qqip" failed: Read-only file system (30)
    I haven't played around with the rsync-options yet. I tried the udev rule though, didn't help. One thing is strange: the rule sets gid=100(=users), but all the dirs/files on the device are <mylogin>:root owned. Shouldn't that be <mylogin>:users?

  • MAC Itunes Mp3 CD Problem

    Please Help
    I need to burn an Mp3 cd on my mac.
    I need some of the songs to play 3 or 4 times, so I cannot use toast unless i change each song names 3 times
    So I tried using Itunes Playlist. But none of the 2 equipments I use can read the Cd's burned with Itunes( 1.My Marantz Dvd Player, 2. an Mp3 Cd player with H.D.)
    I tried different media, i tried burning 700M and 600Mb of music, slow disk burning,Mp3, Data,. Nothing works!
    I used to burn my disks with a PC with no problems ever, I had even found the perfect software, ACOUSTICA FOR PC, which normalized volumes, detected incomplete songs , faded songs which ended abruptly and inserted numbers in the beginningt of each file to burn the same file 2 or 3 times.....
    It's frustrating to own a $2000 mac, that should be the best managing music and not being able to Burn a simple Mp3 Disc!!!
    Any advice on itunes settings( I already tried Mp3CD and Data Disk) or other software is greatluy appreciated.
    I've seen some other posts with the same problem and talking about iso 9660 but not a solution that works. Maybe somebody has solved this!
    Thanks
    Andrea Marchetti
    Imac   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    So, any Idea why some players wont play my mac itunes burned CDs?
    Nothing too concrete, unfortunately. It could be because Macs burns hybrid discs (HFS +/ISO 9660) when using the Finder and certain other burning applications, or because sometimes things like .DS_STORE files get burned to data discs and throw certain applications and devices off. An MP3 CD burned with iTunes should be strictly in compliance with ISO 9660, so failure for a device (supporting MP3 CD playback) to play iTunes-generated MP3 CDs is illogical.
    Not to drift off topic, but I use OS X and Windows XP every day; I have a PowerMac G4 and a desktop PC in place on the same desk, and I constantly switch back and forth between them doing various things. For most tasks, I favor the Mac, but for anything involving CD/DVD burning, I turn to the PC. This is one area, in my opinion, where Apple is way behind in the game. It's unfortunately a very common complaint to hear someone say that the CD or DVD they burned with a Mac won't work on normal consumer devices, but that the same content burned to disc on a Windows PC works flawlessly.

  • [n95 v31.0.017]Certain mp3s cause problems

    With latest fw (31.0.17) I noticed that music player many times stall while checking
    for new music.
    First I didn't know why, I even reuploaded same firmware, but the problem persisted.
    After extensive testing, I found out that certain mp3s do that. They are however perfectly playable by
    other players (e.g. winamp, amarok, corePlayer...), but seems to cause multiple problems on the phone.
    Problematic file to test:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?mpoxfexbzgn
    Upload this file with vfat safe chars (the problem is not in the filename, I have other music tracks that do the same and doesn't contain special chars like this one).
    Possible steps to reproduce problems:
    1 - stalled file manager:
    - open file manager
    - browse to uploaded file
    - open it
    File manager should remain half-blank, you have to kill it.
    2 - stalled music player
    - open music player
    - from first screen choose Options → Refresh
    Music player will endlessly scan for new music.
    I never had problems with older firmware, I urge nokia to fix this ugly bug.

    I don't have an N95, but I suspect it is the id3 tags causing the problem.  They are encoded using ID3 v2.4, which isn't well supported on hardware players.  As you list Amarok in the list of players you've tried successful I'm going to assume it is the culprit, as editing tags with Amarok always results in v2.4 being used. This behavior is hardcoded, with no user configurable way to change it.
    I've run into the exact same problem with my current mp3 device, and as it seems you run Linux, I can suggest installing kid3 (KDE is not necessary).  It has a 1-click feature to convert v2.4 tags into v2.3, which has far wider support amongst hardware players.  You'll find similar software to kid3 for Windows and OSX if Linux isn't your bag, but you will have to hunt for that yourself

  • 5230 MP3 ringtone problem

    Hi, I just bought a 5230 (Nuron) last  week. I have loaded a bunch of MP3 files onto the phone that work fine in the music player. I have several of them set as ringtones (this worked fine in my 5610 Xpress music). When somebody calls me, however, the songs drag badly-it sounds like a 45 rpm record playing at 33 rpm. Has anybody else had this problem and if so how do you fix it?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Open Nokia PC Suite...File-->file Manager...
    It will show..Phone Memory and Memory Card Folders...
    In Phone Memory.. Create a Folder (normal Right click-->New Folder.. Rename to Ringtones..
    Select Memory card and locate the mp3 you want to transfer .. Select 'CUT' and 'PASTE' to the newly created ringtones folder...Confirm on the memory card that its deleted from there.. else Right click and Delete...
    Now select the Ringtone for a contact   and check..

  • N73 mp3 Ringtone Problem

    When I set the ringtone to an mp3 track, which I've downloaded onto my phone, it rings but the track's interrupted by a voice. It sounds as if it's saying "frequency". How can I get rid if this?

    Sounds to me like you have the "Say Callers Name" on. Go to Profiles, select your profile and then select Customize/Personalise. Now go down to the field "Say Callers Name" and turn this to "Off".
    If I have helped you, please hit the star at the bottom of my posts - it's appreciated!

  • ITuned mp3 Encoder Problem

    Whenever I encode songs, I do so in mp3 format (very universal). I encode at 256 kpbs. However, one time I accidently did a 192 kbps encoding, but it sounded like a 112 kbps endcoding. Then I did a 112 kbps, and I was right. Then I brough up Nero so I could view the frequency range. it was worse than the 112 kbps... what is up with that. it cut off at about 12 khz on 192.... it cut off at about 12.5 or 13 khz with 112. Then I did a 256 encoding of the same song, and it cut off at about 15khz, which was about 128 kbps normally. Then I looked at previously encoded songs using this same iTunes that I just did (6.0.2.23), and at 256 they were fine, were normal. I did that one about 2 days ago. Then I viewed songs i imported yesterday. It had those bad effect tat it does now, cutting off at 16 khz and sounding like a 128 - 160 kbps. This has NEVER happened to me before on any otehr iTunes. I was wondering if this was a glitch or is fixed in the new 6.0.3 one that was released about 3 days ago. Thanks. I appreciate any feedback.
    ROB C

    I solved the problem.
    ITunes preferences are stored in a hidden directory here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Programdata\Apple Computer\ITunes\iTunes.pref
    (Programdata might be called something else in the English version of XP, I have the Norwegian version...)
    Close ITunes.
    Open this file in a text editor that can handle binary files, for example Textpad (www.textpad.com).
    Remove the two lines starting with keys
    iTunes.exe:MP3 Encoder:Custom
    iTunes.exe:MP3 Encoder
    Start ITunes. Set your desired import bitrate.
    It should now be saved - and be picked up again next time you open your preferences.
    Actually it was saved all the time, but something corrupts this file disabling ITunes from picking up the correct mp3 encoder settings. I guess the 160kb/s setting is the default showing up when no settings are present.
    Hope this works for others having this problem as well!
    Regards,
    Vidar

  • MP3 tags problem?  Album list on Touch

    When I select Music>Albums, the listing contains the songs on the album, instead of just the album name. Not all albums do this.
    I used MP3 Tag to edit these tags. But some other albums I tagged the same way work ok?
    Help?

    It's not clear what the symptom is, you select the Album menu and you see a list of songs, but not all albums do this? That makes it sound like you see a list of songs mixed in with album names? Maybe you can clarify this ...
    In any case, make sure that the albums that you're having problem with have album names -- don't leave Album blank, use "N/A - (artist name)" or something like that.

  • MP3 Duration Problem iMovie 11'

    Ok. So I am trying to put together a music video using iMovie 11, and am having the hardest time getting started. I put my selected video clip up on the dashboard to get ready to cut as well as edit the footage. When i put the Mp3(Song) on the dashboard it automatically cuts to the length of the amount of video footage that is on the dashboard at that time. I have tried to lengthen the duration of the mp3 using the settings feature given on the audio clip, but it automatically jumps back to the duration of the amount of video clip. Ultimately I am trying to lengthen my duration, and have my mp3 the full length of the song to stay for the whole project, which gives me room and a real chance to work with my clips. I figure that it is something very conspicuous that I am missing. I'm sure it is just a minor issue, and would love if somebody could help assist me with this problem. Please, and thank you your time is much appreciated.

    Use Imovie 8.0.6 its the last good version.

  • MP3 Levels Problem

    I have been responsible for recording sermons at our church, converting them to MP3 and then putting them up on the church's website (hcceugene.org). The 45 minute +- messages need to be highly compressed for dial-up access. Heretofore, I've done the conversion to MPEG-2 Layer 3, Mono, 16kbps, 11.025kHz with very good results. The problem:
    It seems that beginning with files converted using iTunes 7.4.2 that the volume levels have gone down dramatically. The .aif files are fine (i.e. the recordings made with SoundStudio). The resultant files after selecting "Convert Selection to MP3" are about 10% of the volume of the original .aif file. Earlier files that were encoded with v7.3.2 of iTunes are fine and haven't had this happen to them.
    Any ideas why this may be happening and/or what to do about it? Eric

    Is both Transmit and Receive running on same machine?

  • Mp3 download problem

    I cannot uninstall Windows Media Player from add-ons.My problem is when I click any Mp3's download button then it open instead of save the file.So, I need to uninstall Windows Media Player.

    hello, i don't think windows media player is the cause for the issue you have described. since a few versions firefox is able to play mp3s natively. you can right-click the player interface and download the file this way.

  • Mp3 file problem

    i am trying to retrieve the song title and artist name from the ID3 tags of mp3 files...
    i have been trying to use the following code but i am stuck
    RandomAccessFile theFile = new RandomAccessFile(soundFile,"r");
    byte[ ] buf = new byte [128];
    long length = theFile.length() -128;
    if (length<0){

    //setNullStrings();
    return false;
    theFile.seek(theFile.length()-128);
    theFile.readFully(buf);
    if ((buf[0] =="T" && (char)buf[1] =="A" && (char)buf[2]=="G")){
    if (buf [3] ==0 &&buf[33] ==0){
    //setNullStrings();
    return false;
    else {
    songTitle = new String(buf,3,30);
         artist = new String(buf,33,30);

    Without trying to speak for
    anyone, the "reinventing the wheel" comment had do to
    with your having problems writing code for which there
    are already a set of nifty classes already available
    that do exactly what you're trying to do.You got that right
    To some folks, that seems like a big waste of time and
    effort.To every sensible human beeing i hope. Writing the same code, creating lots of bugs in the proccess and not giving a damn about libraries that are already available and tested does not make sense in this solar system

  • Mp3 player problems on mac os

    Hi!
    I'm newbie in flex and I have a problem when I run flex mp3
    player on mac OS. Here is the site where I get the player.
    http://labs.flexcoders.nl/2007/02/21/easy-to-use-mp3player-version-003/.
    There are no problems in windows OS. The problem in mac is it you
    will need to click stop button first and after that click now the
    play button. But in windows you will only click the play button. Is
    there something wrong in the code? Or I will need to install
    plugins for MAC.
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ridge.
    anyway here are the codes:
    Mp3Sample.mxml:

    Try assigning an initial value to the pausePosition variable
    in MP3Player.as, probably in the constructor:
    public function MP3Player():void{
    this.pausePosition = 0; //assign the value of 0 here
    this.explicitHeight = 0;
    this.soundInstance = new Sound();
    this.soundTransform = new SoundTransform();
    this.setupListeners();

  • AVAudioPlayer MP3 stream problems

    I am having problems getting an mp3 stream to work with AVAudioPlayer in 2.2. I built a simple app just to get streaming working with a .pls file. I am parsing the file perfectly fine in my player app, but for this simple test app I just grabbed one of the urls from the .pls file and use it directly. The problem I am running into is it is failing with a kAudioFileUnsupportedFileTypeError. In my sample code I use a hosted MP3 file as a control. it works perfectly fine.
    Is the problem that NSURLConnection is expecting a Content-Length field in the response? The stream won't return one because there is no end to the stream. If this is the problem what do you recommend for connecting to an audio data stream?
    I don't want to use the complex AudioQueue way of doing it. Here is the output of my program when running with an mp3 stream.
    2008-11-30 17:21:54.377 radiotest[27239:20b] Starting the song

    Also, AVAudioPlayer initWithContentsOfURL:(NSURL*)url error:(NSError **)error throws a warning because it is conflicting with it's super's implementation of initWithContentsOfURL. Upon calling it, it fails every time. I am forced to use the initWithData method. Is this a known issue?

    This sample project: http://www.zdziarski.com/AVMeter.zip includes use of AVAudioPlayer with local files. The lines to look for are like these:
    NSURL *tickURL = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:[mainBundle pathForResource:@"tick" ofType:@"caf"]];
    tickPlayer = [[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:tickURL error:&error];
    To play an mp3 in your resources you would change @"tick" to contain the name of the file (without the extension), and change the ofType:@"caf" to be ofType:@"mp3".
