Had Ubuntu 12.04 and upgraded to Ubuntu 14.04 and now when trying to open an MP3 audio link on a website that used to work, now I get an error message that says file is corrupt. Using Firefox browser that is up to date. What now? The file opens fine in Documents with VLC Player.
Please post the link so we can look it over.

I've posted a number of mp3 file links on our website. All have been functioning and playing well until this week, they are no longer playing when clicked on. The new tab opens, thinks, then says that the "video cannot be played because the file is corrupt". These files are able to be downloaded and played from individual computers and will play fine in other browsers - such as Google Chrome.
Not sure if there is an issue with Firefox default mp3 player?I assume that this is because of the way the MP3 file is encoded.
Sample rate: 22050 Hz
Bitrate: 32 kb/s
If I open the file in a tab then I see a media player, but inspecting the page source shows a video tag with no source attribute, so Firefox seems to have a problem with decoding the media header despite the audio/mpeg content type.
I don't know what to do about this apart from playing the file in an external player or play the file via an object or embed tag to make Firefox use a plugin.
Using a bookmarklet like this to force an audio tag doesn't work as well:
<pre><nowiki>data:text/html,<audio src="%S" controls>
</nowiki></pre> -

Link won't open in goddaddy website builder tool
Links won't open when I try to preview using Go daddy website builder tool. I contacted Go Daddy and they said the tool works as designed on their side and suggested that it may be a browser issue. My question is that is there anything I can do to check my browser settings (i.e. security , etc.) that may correct this issue? I also need to check which version of Firefox is installed, I believe my latest version is 6.0 , not sure?
Please post the link so we can look it over.

The movie that I bought won't download because it says the file is corrupt
Have a look at this thread,
The Library "Aperture ...." is open in (null)
For me it worked to rebuild the Aperture Library using the "First Aid Tools" (launch Aperture with ⌥⌘ held down and select "Rebuild Database", but you might try to patch the library package first to remove the lock, for rebuilding may take a long time for a large library. See William LLoyd's anwer

and kobbernob's post:

To open the Library package, ctrl-click your Aperture library and select "Show package Contents".

LINKS won't open in a NEW TAB or a NEW WINDOW ???
With Safari 3.x when I clicked on a LINK, a new Window or a new Tab would open... Do I have to hold down the friggin' APPLE in order to do this?
PLEASE, say it ain't so...In Safari 3, you had to hold the Command key while clicking a link to open it in a new tab, unless you had some other extension installed to automatically do this. The same is true for Safari 4, and if you installed it, it would use all applicable preference settings from Safari 3.
So the question you need to answer is this: What other extensions did you have installed for Safari 3? -
I have tried to download it mutiple times, restarted my computer and tried again but it still says corrupt file. any idea what the problem is and how I may be able to fix it?
Okay.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
I have a lot of 1.44MB disks with pictures. When I tried to open them I got a message that Quick Time was not properly installed. I uninstalled and reinstalled Quick Time as instructed. Then I got a message that Windows Picture and Fax Viewer was missing, I corrected that and now get a message that the picture files are corrupted. But if I use the program that is on the disk, the pictures appear just fine. Any thoughts as to what is going on? The file structure on the disc identifies the pictures with a Quick Time icon and as Type PICT. The properties window shows a .pic extension. Any thoughts on how I can get this to open in an XP Pro or Vista PC?
Use the on board viewer program to export the file as bitmap or jpg and work with that.

I went to open iTunes on my PC and it said the copy of iTunes was corrupt and I should reinstall it. What should I do? and how does it become corrupt? I opened it last weekend...please help
Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Can you launch your iTunes now? -

Says file is corrupt every time I try to install Firefox 3.6
Hi Raphe,
There are a couple of things I know that can cause this. One of which I have experienced myself.
Sometimes, your router may be faulty. This will usually effect all downloads unless they are very small files. I have experienced this myself, and found the only way to fix the problem is to replace it.
Another problem that could cause this is a virus. You should scan your computer for viruses using a trusted antivirus. The virus is sometimes scareware which claims you have a virus, but actually, the only virus is the scareware antivirus!
I hope this helps,

Anybody any ideas?
Never mind sorted it out lol. Somebody did a system restore of a week or so. I had done the update during that time and it was lost. Just redownloaded itunes from the internet and its working fine now.

I'm trying to download firefox 3.6 and get a message saying the file is corrupted, or doesn't have authentication. What's up?
Hi,
I think there are some internet problems. If you use a (wireless)-router, maybe a reset will work. You can reset the router by pressing a button on the router itself. Try again downloading firefox.
If this doesn't work, download firefox from another computer and safe it on a USB flash drive.
Kind regards,
Joren
