Mp3 play back issues oniPOD nano

I have an iPOD nano with version 1.0 software.
I use LAME and EAC to generate MP3 VBR high quality files.
Some CDs while ripping may contain small errors the ripper (EAC) can't correct as the disc is scratched, I then encode these wav files into mp3 vbr with lame.
OK, load them into itunes then on to my iPOD nano and iPOD Shuffle.
The suffle plays them beautifully can't even detect the error on the wav rip from the scratch, it does not course any skipping or skips or errors in the play back.
The Nano plays the song but skips in the middle with a
scrunching sound that nasty and its loud. Totally ruins the pleasure of listening to the track.
I have many such tracks..... so why is the nano mp3 decoder so poor compared to the shuffle. Will when will it be fixed?
I rang apple and Bala said I should post here, so here is the post, while he forwards my "ticket".
As it stands I would tell any one out there DON'T buy a Nano, keep to the shuffle until this is fixed. Also I
feel the shuffle sounds better than the Nano, The nano sounds woolish compared to the shuffle. But nano is dead sexy
I will be returning my nano if the jumping and skipping can't be sorted its just not worth listening to my tracks on it.
Have fun.

I only have a 20 GB with Color Display, which sounds fine. I use the Apple Lossless encoder BTW.
I've never had any problem with any CD (even those who jump so badly in the player that you can hear about 5% of the songs) when ripping with iTunes (although once it refused to rip a track on my worst CD).
Have you tried another Nano to see if yours was defective ? Have you tried ripping some of your songs with iTunes and see if, once loaded onto your Nano, songs will play normally ? (EAC may be great but if you can't read them with your iPod it may be necessary to use iTunes.
If none of these work and you are still unsatisfied, and if you like you Shuffle, maybe you can return the Nano and wait until you can try a version that will play your songs, or go for a ROKR

  • Do your MP3s play back with digital clicks and distortion on new iPad?

I have thousands of MP3s encoded to 192 in my iTunes library that have played flawlessly on my iPods, iPhone, first-gen iPad and Macs with no problems. All the MP3s played back on my third-gen iPad (ATT 4G) randomly have clicks and digital distortion through them. These clicks and distortions don't always happen in the same place and not always with the same file. This points to a problem with the iPad. Anyone else having this problem?

    Thought I may as well post some additional photos consisting of my iPad compared to my sisters iPad 4;
Mine is the top iPad, sisters is the bottom iPad.
    Close-up of my sisters iPad, same side;
The camera doesn't capture the full glory of the back-light bleeding, you can just imagine how much worse and more apparent it would be to the human eye!
(With these images, I have enchanced the brightness so it's more apparent)

  • HF R400. Play back issue on computer. Not the right codec?

I own a Vixia HF R400 and when i try to view my videos on my computer in any media player it says that this file format is not supported in all of the players. It also mentions something about the codec? Not to sure what this means. I recorded in AVCHD if that makes a difference.  If anyone could help that would be great! Thanks!

Adding to what other posters said one important thing missing: to the best of my knowledge AVCHD defines the container format as well as the video and audio codecs. The video codec is H.264.
From my own experience I know that Microsoft's so-called media player doesn't really work with H.264. Especially when using any higher bitrate as AVCHD does, many media players freak out. The same happens with high-bitrate mp4 and mov containers with H.264 streams inside them. Think GoPro Protune H.264 footage.
VLC seems to work, but you may experience playback issues. Xine has no problems ... but doesn't run on Windows.
Funnily, my Samsung Note 10.1 2014 plays back any high-bitrate H.264 footage up to 45Mbit/s without any problems, even in hardware. On the other end, my Samsung TV chokes on the same footage.
In my own experience, AVCHD should be seen as kind of raw file to be used solely as input to video editors, but not useful for direct viewing. Transcode to lower bitrate footage if you want to watch your footage on Windows, low power tablets and phones, as well as TVs.

  • Play Back Issues

Ok guys I recently downloaded the trial because I'm thinking of getting on the cloud.  1st off I built my own system its pretty sturdy.
Supermicro X9DAX-IF board its dual cpu
    2 xeon e5 2630's v2 ivy bridge
84 gb of ram kingston hyperX
    Nvidia Quadro K4000
120SSD samsung just to load progarms
2tb western digital green to store data
    1200w cosair platinum
    liquid cooled system
    windows pro 8.1
Now my playback refuses to work it works fine in after effects and prelude but it will not work in premiere.  its fine if i scrub and you hear the audio, but if  i push the space bar it only plays for a second.   I see they fixes for the mac but is there one for the PC because this is a deal breaker. I'm thinking if you guys don't care to fix this issue or give a fix I'm thinking I should just flip completely over to Nuke and Hiero and learn a set of softwares.  I downloadd those trial versions today and they work fine video loads and plays back so i can make my cuts.

84 gb of ram kingston hyperX
    Should that not be 64?
    Nvidia Quadro K4000
Pity, since it's so slow, as are your CPU's.
120SSD samsung just to load progarms
As long as it is the Pro version, OK. If it is the EVO version, bad luck.
2tb western digital green to store data
That is the cause of your problems. NEVER use a green disk on an editing rig and God has forbidden it's use if it is the only data disk in any system.

  • External MP3 plays back too fast

    Hi,
I entered a previous post and said that my External MP3 was
not working with Flash 8.0. I tried a longer sound wave and what it
appears to be that the sound wave is playing back but at a high
    speed that is unintelligeble.
Does the MP3 file need to be converted or formated in a
certain way to use as an External MP3. I have imported the exact
same MP3 file and it works with no problem in embedded mode.
    thanks,
    hugh

    Hi
Audio that sound like Chipmunks is cause by inappropriate bit
    rate.
it's best to use 16-bit 22 kHz mono sounds (stereo uses twice
as much data as mono), but Flash can
import either 8- or 16-bit sounds at sample rates of 11, 22,
    or 44 kHz.

  • FCP 7, maverick, animation million+, iMac play back issue

I have 3 years old iMac, 8Mg RAM duo. poorly handled transparent overlay HD 1920by 1080. It would play and pause in the viewer preview window, slow rendering time. So I got my self the new iMac 27" with 16 MG of ram, quatro. The playback and rendering looks even worse.  Is it bad memory, computer itself, or Maverick is not compatible with FCP7?
    Thanks,

well yeah.  animation codec with alpha (or even without) is NOT a playback format.  It's an uncompressed format for working with full quality video with transparency.
HOWEVER, Apple ProRes 4444 can have an alpha channel and plays back on my system just fine.  As a matter of fact, it will actually play back while keying over background video in fcp7.

  • Play back issue

Just installed and updated Logic Studio on a DualCore 2.3 G-5 Pro Logic is working fine but SoundTrackPro is not. Trying to play the Ducati demo and there is a problem with it stopping soon after play back. At first there was a message that read Audio was dropped and that long files needed to be removed or other apps shut down. No other apps open. Now I have sound but it still stops right after playing.

Ok, here is the message; "SoundTrack Pro is dropping audio because your computers hard disk cannot deliver all of the audio in time. Try removing some long files or quitting other applications".

  • I have k9n sli platnm having video play back issues

When I hooked up with Comcast from Verizon I switched modems from DSL to cable modem all using my lan port for the internet and since then some of my videos won’t play. Microsoft seems to think that it has something to do with open h.323 a couple of days ago I was messing around with some drivers for the video or display I can’t remember. It asked me if I wanted to keep the display driver so I did but when I restarted the computer a message about the pci bridge something missing, and the internet wasn’t working but I went to play the videos that wern't playing and all of them play. I did a system restore and got the internet back. But when I went back to look at those drivers again I couldn’t remember so I updated everything and every driver I could think of but still no dice.

Re-write it normally please. I get a headache reading posts that are in all caps. Also, all caps violates the forum rules.  Please list all your components along with your re-write.

  • Video play back on ipod nano 6th gen

Just curious, since the 7th gen has video playback features, is apple going to have a firmware update for 6th gen ipod nano to play video as well?

More than likely not, but since all of us here are only end users like yourself, nobody would know such information and its against the Terms of Use of these forums to speculate. Sorry.

  • Strange play back issue with iTunes.

Playing songs from my PC the chosen song plays fine to a conclusion, but then jumps to another song as if switched to 'shuffle' which it isnt. The following songs are always the same. There doesn't appear to be any thread between them they are just always the same and they are songs I rarely if ever play so I can't understand why. I've checked all the controls and all seems fine. My Ipod seems to work fine and will play a whole album without problems. I have xp on the PC and am using iTunes 10. Can anyone help?

    Greetings Rusty,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    This may or may not help, but;
Try selecting the songs that are starting at random parts during the file.
Right-click on the selected file and select "Get Info".
If the "Start Time" for the track is not set to "0", then set it to "0".
    Click "OK".
    Does this help?
    Kind regards,
    Peter.

  • Play back issue using premier pro on mac book (snow leopard)

I have installed Adobe creative suite 5.5 on mac pro (snow leopard). I have attempted to playback my edited video and it does not work. I have read the faqs and followed what ever instructions I have found from the forum postings. I have reinstalled the product and repaired administator permissions. Can anyone assist me in resolving this issue urgently. Thank you Michael.

I have fixed this problem myself by searching the forum with argument "playback" "playback_issue". This a known problem. Go to link for a solution http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/playback-stops-loops-soundbooth-premiere.html
    Thanks to myself.

when i play back an mp3 dj mix i,ve burn,t to cd in my car when i turn the engine of and then restart the car the cd starts back from the beginning how do i solve this problem so that when i turn the engine on end off the cd plays from the same place it did before i turned the engine off

It could be that the CD player will only playback "Redbook" CD's from the previous position.
And starts mp3 type CD's from the beginnig.
    However.. it's not Logic related.

  • Weird timing issues when playing back a recorded sound file and with synths

    Hello there,
I'm having a couple of strange issues with playing back files that I have recorded using MIDI data which is then used to play an external synth which then gets recorded to an audio track which at the time is perfectly synced to a click track.
The problem is (and I really dont get why this is happening) when it comes to playing back the recorded audio file that sometimes it is either behind or ahead of the beat.
This makes absolutely no sense because sometimes it IS in time with the beat and other times when I play through my piece it is obviously out! I haven't moved the audio file in the arrange window and it is a permanent .aiff file that is stored on my hard-drive...what on Earth is going on?
On a side note, the same problem happens with any of Logic's synths when I use an LFO that is supposed to be synced to the beat. Sometimes when I play back the MIDI data it is perfectly synced and in time and other times it is horribly out. It really is just pot luck!
    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thank you supermacmom!
I have the LifeProof case for the iPhone5, and I remember the instructions saying that any protective screen cover should be removed before enclosing the phone into the case, but I left mine on with no ill effects.
But I should have taken off the back protective film, which was covering the video mic!

  • Issues with play back in the time line

I am having issues with play back in the time line.
am working with footage captured off a DVCAM Tape in a DV/DVCPRO NTSC Time line.
My settings are set to match the source footage so I dont have to render. What ends up happening is the footage at times plays fine and smooth and then out of no where it will start playing choppy. like its lagging. But the Audio stay fine. I use to have to problem before but then it stopped.
Now its back and I can not figure out why it does this. Usually a restart of the system would help solve it but now it still keeps coming back.
i have tried different settings in the RT menu and still seem to be having the same problem.
i am running the footage of 3 1TB drives in Raid0 and the System has 16GB of Ram. So I dont see this being the issue.
    any ideas?

of course not, the system boots from a 320GB Western Digital Hard Drive. (the one that came with the system)
I have a feeling that its not the Hard Drive, but no idea what it could be.

  • Timecode Break Issues when Importing, but plays back in camera fine?

    Hello,
I am having several timecode break issues. The tapes play fine on the camera in "playback" mode but once I try to import through firewire into final cut express it gives me multiple clips. I have tried using Imovie and QuickTime Pro for importing the footage. Imovie gives me delays in the footage and so does QuickTime Pro.
Why am I getting timecode breaks when importing through final cut express, but then it plays back fine in the camera? I am using a Macbook pro with Maverick and a Sony HVR Z5U camera.
Any helps would be great. The footage is in DV.
    Thanks

Why am I getting timecode breaks when importing through final cut express, but then it plays back fine in the camera?
Because the camera basically ignores the timecode when you just play back a tape in the camera.  While it may display the TC on the LCD screen as the video plays, the camera really doesn't care about TC during plain old playback.  However, with 3 different apps all encountering problems capturing the video, it would appear there are actual TC breaks.
    Questions
Is this a problem with one or a few specific tapes, or all tapes you try to capture from?
Also, the HVRZ5U is an HDV-DVCAM-DV camcorder ... are you downconverting HDV material to DV?
Do you have *ANY* other FW devices connected to you Mac when you try to capture video from the camera?
In FCE, you might try using the DV NTSC DV Converter easy setup, which ignores timecode, instead of the default DV NTSC easy setup.
