Is there a way to save it to my computer? I really enjoy the
instrumental song on the official Jarhead movie website. If you
click on 'Film Info' it plays a lovely piano song. Anyway I can
download this to my computer somehow?

There isn't a way to do that -unless- the developer of the
MP3 player added that as a feature. Sorry..

I have an mp4 that is wrapped (or published) by an swf. I have successfully embedded the swf in a web page but when I play the video from the web page the quaility is significantly degraded. Unfortunately I have no control over the internals of the swf so what I would prefer to do is to embed the mp4 rather than the swf. I understand Adobe Flash Player supports mp4 since version 9, but I haven't been able to figure out the html to make this happen. Here is the code I am currently using with the swf. Can anyone suggest how to modify this for embedding the mp4?

I didn't mean to imply the HTML code affects quality (although the qualtiy tag technically does that) . The internal settings in the swf are affecting quality. If I play the mp4 directly the quality is fine. If I play it through the swf wrapper the quality is degraded. I want to take the swf wrapper out of the picture.

Creating H.264 FLV file as per Spec, does not play with Adobe Flash Player 10

1] We have developed an application to encapsulate H.264 video inside FLV container, following the "Adobe Video File Format Specifications 9". According to the specification the H.264 video data is embedded in FLV tags, as follows
FLV Headers: Meta Tag: Sequence of Video Tag.
But in spite of following the specifications, Adobe Flash Player (version 10) could not play this FLV file. However, some players were able to play this FLV file. The fact that Adobe did not play it was very surprising.
2] We searched and finally found one FLV file, which contained H.264 video (unlike others which usually contained Sorenson's H.263). This file was played fine by Adobe Flash Player. So it led us to investigate further and we found that
[A] the video tag was preceded with 2 byte length of the every "contained" H.264 NALU. This applied to all the NALUs / I-slices/P-slices and so on. This is not documented.
[B] Only the first video tag (containing video sequence params), is preceded by the sequence "01 4D 00 15 FD E1" followed by 2 byte length and then the video data (sequence parameters in this case). What are these additional bytes ? where are they documented ?
Could you pls share your views about the above and point us to the documents, if any, which are in agreement with the above observations.We think there is a discrepency in the document related with authoring FLV file with H.264 content.

You could push it out to one or two users and test. Moving up to the latest version of Flash Player is USUALLY a good idea, however, if you happen to be on Captivate 4, be aware that there was an issue reported some time ago that once you upgraded your development machine to Flash Player 11 it interfered with publishing out courses. I cannot remember seeing a bugfix issued to Cp4 users for this (someone correct me if I'm wrong). If you're on Cp5 or 5.5 this shouldn't be an issue.

Another browser that supports Flash is Puffin... I prefer it to iSwifter and Skyfire. Puffin is the only one I've found that actually plays the Flash content on Hulu. It's a bit jerky and the sound is often out of sync, but that's more than the others will do.

Flash CS3 Professional comes with an utility to convert videos into .FLV. Before that (Macromedia Studio MX 2004, don't know about other versions because I skipped a few) I remember that there was a QT extension that required QT Pro. A quick Google search gave this utility for Windows only.

I've just downloaded Adobe Flash Player 13, but .flv files and .f4v files are not played by Adobe Flash Player. I've tried to make it default player but i didn't release which file .exe to browse for (by right-clicking and choosing Open with > Choose default program...).

There's a Flash Player Projector (standalone) in the Flash Professional CS6/Players folder, but it's usually outdated.
When browsing to an app to use from the Properties window, go there, but... download this one: Windows Flash Player 13 Projector and replace the Flash Player that's in that folder.
If you're looking to test Flash files you've authored, then you'll need the Projector, but if you're just looking for a good player for FLV and F4V, then you should use VLC Media Player. http://www.videolan.org/

Make adobe flash player the preferred player when exporting indd to pdf

Hi, I am making a pdf using indesign. After I export to pdf, the movie files in the pdf play automatically on quicktime (when I click on them). I need them to automatically play on adobe flash player instead. I understand I can change the rendition settings for each object in the pdf, and make adobe flash player the preferred player, but there are a hundred videos in my pdf (avi files), it would take a long time to make those changes individually; it would be much easier if when i exported from indesign, they were already set as default to open in flash player instead of quicktime within the pdf. Any ideas appreciated.

Why does Firefox list of plugins show "Shockwave Flash" when what is installed is really Adobe Flash Player; they are different .

Adobe; various websites; and now seemingly Firefox seem to continually confuse and obscure things regarding the two different Adobe Players (Adobe Flash Player AFP and Adobe Shockwave Player ASP). My Firefox is working, but this confusion of calling things by their proper (or at least a unique name) seems crazy to me. If this is accurate can someone get Firefox to name things correctly, AND if article is accurate let this be a warning to others that they NOT use ASP, but as needed rely on AFP. There are Adobe test pages for each so you want to make sure that AFP succeeds and the other ASP fails to play.

Is there any timeline soon that apple users will be able to open things that need adobe flash player? I can not even play any games on Facebook, I can't open certain files, pictures sent to me or things like forms I news to see when I am not home

I am so frustrated about Adobe Flash player. I can not play any Facebook games, open certain files and pictures and documents that I need to access because not only does this phone not do it but my old Palm Pre couldn't do it either. I have had so many times where I needed to access things either online or via email, or message that I can not even look at because of this. I have to wait until I for home or ask someone else to do it for me which is embarrassing. I rave about my iPhone 4S all the time because it is truly great except for this. When it use to happen with my Pal Pre I figures once I got my iPhone that it wouldn't happen anymore but I guess I was completely wrong. I have had this problem for years and always get a message saying that it's being worked on. Well a couple of years is a long time to work on it. I understand about contracts and stuff but why is it taking a company such as Apple to be able to get it for their products? I get a lot and always want to play the games on Facebook but I can't do it on most of them at least the ones I have tried. So I can not play against anyone at that time I have to wait until I get home or use someone else's computer or something. Please tell me that in the extremely near future that this will not be a problem anymore. PLEASE!! I am sure I am not the only one out there who is having issues and if you do get it available please let there be an upload/upgrade for current phones and not just for future versions of Apple phones. That just wouldnt be very fair to all of your loyal customers and tell everyone to get your products because they are great and end up leaving this little problem out until they by your phone. Especially if they just got the phone they have. You guys are awesome with technology I have faith that you can make this available to all Apple products old and new by uploads or upgrades. Until a few months ago I was able to play videos in e-mails on my desktop computer, running on windows XP, through Verizon FIOS. Then I kept getting the message that I needed Adobe Flash Player 9.0. I have downloaded the latest version, Adobe Flash Player 10.3.183.1, several times, getting the message from Adobe that I am now running that program. However, when I try to play a video, I still get the message that the the plug-in isn't installed, and the table of plug-ins doesn't include Adobe Flash Player. Is there something else that must be done to make the (presumably) installed program active? If so, what is it?

After I downloaded the new version of Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.262, I can't seem to play games with my friends on Yahoo Messenger.

It could be a coincidence but when I upgraded to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.262 I can't seem to play any games on Yahoo Messenger with my friends. I know when I updated for some reason I had to try 3 times before it took it. It shows it's updated. I'm wondering if I have to un-install and re-install it. Also, I never use Internet Explorer 8 but when I went in there to check I found a plug in check link there and it showed over there that Adobe Flash Player needed updating but it was an older version and not the one Foxfire had me update too. Now I'm really confused if this is causing a problem. I have never had to check Internet Explorer for plug ins before. Have always just updated in Foxfire since that's what I use. The Adobe Flash Player seems to play videos okay so not really sure if that's the issue or not. My Java plug-ins have been fine and have been updated awhile ago, so I know it's not that. Well, after hours of trying to figure it out I gave up and un-installed and re-installed that last verion of Adobe Flash Player and now it seems I can play games again in Messenger. Everything else had been fine just that. I can only figure it was because it was having a hard time updating the first time and took me 3 tries. So even though it said it was installed, apparently it wasn't done correctly.
Though when I couldn't figure out what was wrong at first I looked and checked to see all the things were enabled that were supposed to be and they were.
I even tried to go to the Adobe site and download the last version I had and couldn't find it. Kept coming up with the new version. Others said if you download a particular older version it may not have all the security features in it.
This really gets to be a bit much, especially when you're by yourself and have only a smattering of knowledge of technical things.

Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store.

Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
