MP3 player and car char

Does anyone have some instrustions that they can share for this item? Much like my Vision M I have zero instructions.

thanks but I have the MP3 player pretty much down thanks to the information guide from the web site. It's this item that came with nothing. The "Quick Start Guide" has one picture on it with no explantion or instructions.
I love the player - but working with this brand is very difficult.

Unfortunately (for us consumers) there are few options.
) Use an FM transmitter which does not work in your area.
2) There was a post in this forum where the person had a device installed that would switch from the car antenna to an FM transmitter. So effecti'vely, the FM transmitter is spliced right into the antenna line into your car stereo. The theory is that it's either using the car antenna or your MP3 player, but never both. There are no competing FM stations. The use also said this cost them $200 .... which makes option 3 a better deal considering FM will decrease the fidelity of a MP3 player.
3) Buy a car stereo with an input jack .. as SSR as sited.
4) You can buy a cassette adapter ... if your current car stereo has a circa 20th century cassette player.
5) Start a grass roots effort to lobby car manufacturers to put in a input jack in the car stereos. The American companies might be softened after this SUV bust.
If you pick #5, I'm available to stamp and stuff envelopes ......

Take it in for a service diagnostic so you can determine if it's worth fixing or if you should buy a new one.

• Creative MP3 Players and Car Au

Hello,
I'm a newbie and I don't know a lot about MP3 players so I hope you can help me out. I have a brand new Kenwood car audio with an USB cable to plug your MP3 player in. My friend's Samsung MP3 player doesn't work, after some research I find out that the MP3 player has to be an MTP one to work with the car audio. Now my question is: are all Creative MP3 players MTP maschines and do I have to make a software update or what ever to "make them be" a MTP player?
Thanks a lot for any support!

Are you sure about this? Which Kenwood is it exactly? The info I've seen on the Kenwoods say that the USB device must be MSC (not MTP).
Perhaps your friend's Samsung is MTP, and that's why it didn't work.

• MP3 player and USB

I just purchased a ZipLinq . USB cable to use with my MuVo Slim, but it will not work. I'm fairly certain the Slim is backward-compatible with USB ., so I don't understand why. Trying to determine if the cable itself is faulty. I can use the Slim just fine with my larger MacCalley adapter, which has a wider cable, and of course with the cable that it came with.
Has anyone successfully used your MP3 player with a compact, retractable USB . cable?

If the cable is cited as USB it might not be good enough quality (really the whole USB or 2 thing for cables is just a quality issue).

Lets say the Xtra and the micro cost the same price. You don't have an Mp3 player yet. You still have the knowledge that you have now for both products.
Which mp3 player would you pick and why?

right now i own the micro. If i had the chance to pick again with the knowledge i have now, I would go with the Xtra.
Because before i didn't know anything about bit rate...... I thought the micro could hold up to 2500songs.
I learned that it will only hold about ,030 songs wma 60kb
ps.
NOT COOL.

• Mp3 player and linux

Hi!
I have mp3 player Cowon D2. After connecting it to the PC arch discovers it as f.e. pendrive. But the problem is with unmounting. I use KDE 3.5.7, in media:/ I right-click on it's memory, then I click to safely remove. But an error appears telling that unmounting was successful, but ejecting have failed.
What might be wrong?

Nothing... As the message says, the device can simply not be ejected (since it's plugged in and no CD or whatever, which can be ejected by the station). So just unplug the player, it should be fine.

I sumitted my problem online to the customer support but when I hit the submit button I get redirected from http://us.creative.com/support/contact/emailform.asp to a non-working URL http://dmzrespapp.europe.creative.com/kana/FRH
I do not get an e-mail confirmation either. But maybe you can also help with my problem below
I have an Creative Micro Zen mp3 player
When I start or reboot the mp3 player it hangs at the 'CREATIVE' logo and stops responding. This started 3 weeks ago.
I followed the steps below as suggested by Creative's knowledge base:.) Clean up2.) Format3.) Reload Firmware4.) Reboot
At each of these steps the player does not hang (I can hear the sound feedback when I touch the control buttons), but I stays there for hours saying i.e. 'Cleaning up', 'Erasing Firmware'

After I have read the FAQ I came across this last resort, tried it, and succeeded. Now it works again

My Zen won't startup, what do I do?
align=justify>If your Zen won't startup the first thing to try is see if you can access the Maintenance Menu (click here for the procedure) and run a disk cleanup. If this fails, or if you are getting the "hard dri've error" message on startup, listen closely to the Zen when it starts up. If you can hear the hard dri've repeatedly clicking at the end of the start up chances are the heads or related mechanics are jammed in some way. At your own risk you can try and free this by firstly powering the player down, then giving it a hard slap on the side. An alternati've and less drastic approach is to hold it in your outstretched arm with the screen towards you and twist your wrist back and forth as quickly as you can. This might indicate a problem with the player, so you may want to seek getting your player replaced/repaired anyway, especially if this happens more than once. Also if this procedure doesn't help you will also have to look at getting the player repaired, or if out of warranty you can try repairing the hard disk yourself. See the Articles section for guides on upgrading. Note that you should not hit your player in any other circumstance as you could damage the hard disk. Hard disks make clicking noises in normal operation.

• My Forth Creative Mp3 Player and counting

I have just got my fourth creative Mp3 player. You would have though I would have learnt my lesson by now!
First one (Zen Micro)was faulty when purchased so went straight back to the shop.
Second (Zen Micro) lasted 8 months before stopping working one day.
Third (Zen Microphoto) lasted 3 months before the screen stopping working correctly.
Forth and current(Zen Touch 40gb)lasted 3 days before becoming faulty.
I've contacted support as it seems to have the same firmware error problem as numerous others. Is there a fix? I have seen so many threads but not many positi've results.
As far as I am concerned this is the last Creative player I shall buy. If they can't get me fixed up it's going back to the shop for a refund or exchange for anything but a creative player.
Do others have such a poor experience of Creative players or am I just having a bad experience?Message Edited by Ainslie on 07-0-20070:37 AM

I bought a 30gb Nomad Jukebox Xtra 3 or 4 years ago, and only now it quit on me. And only the LED screen, after going through a rainstorm; everything else still works. I just bought a 30gb Zen Vision M to replace her. So far so good. Defecti've products happen. So do unlucky people

• Mp3 Player and Itunes media version

Ok i have read from at least 1 user that i cannot convert the files i download from m4p to mp3 format. I wanted to know if this is true?
If so than im in a bit of a bind and have another question. I have an mp3 player that is not an Ipod the only problem with it is now apparent, it doesn't support m4p files. I plan to contact the company but the question really goes back to my first one... Is there any possible way to convert these files to mp3?

it would just be great if Apple Itunes would allow us
to authorize our non-Ipod Mp3's, considering we
purchashed all of this music from them. would you
agree?
PC Windows
XP
Absolutely agree. I spent 4 hours yesterday Hijacking the Audio on a double album and relabelling the tracks. At least when you download from limewire the labels are (reasonably) intact and you can play the music out of the box. I want to pay for music, that is fair, but I won't be paying Apple if I have to go through all this grief. As the drawbacks inherent in iPods become clearer to consumers and sales level and drop Apple will have to address their compatibility issues or they will be stuck in the corner by themselves again.
