MP3 Player - Is it realistic with Flex???

Hi every Flex fans and Flex experts,
After a week of fluctuation from happy to angry, I conclude
that there is not a lot of resource to build a nice-and-easy MP3
player in a Flex application. Yes and no! I mean, there is some
basic solutions, such as the idea from Viper Creation (
http://www.vipercreations.com/tutorials/Adobe%20Flex/29.html).
But when you look at all those SWF available from Flashkit.com or
whatever the web site is - in case of independant flash developer -
it seems that there is a lack concerning parameters when it is time
to use the SWF at the full advantage. What I mean by that is most
of those super Flashy MP3 Player - working with a playlist in XML -
are passing a lot of parameters to setup the style of the player.
In Flex, we can use the component SWFLoader and indicate the Source
but when you try to play to much with the parameters (everything
after the "?" and split with "&"), the system does not like it
and you cannot compile!
I been looking and looking since there is not a lot of
documentation at this time to try to find a way to play with
parameters but without a lot of succes.
If anybody have hint to help me, please do not hesitate.
Thank youm

Any music and videos purchased on iTunes will not work on any other player other than iPods and iPhones as well as your computer. Sony MP3 players will not play music and videos purchased in iTunes because of the digital rights management included in every purchase.
You can burn the music to disc. Have a great day.

  • MP3 Player, XML, Cover and Link

    Hi,
i wonder if i can easily creat an MP3 player for my website
with flex. I need a simple player that shows the cover, band and
title of the song that is played. the player should start by random
if the user enters the site. the user is able to skip forward and
backward and to stop playing. all data comes from an XML file.
i want the view of the player to be changed if i want to.
    size, color.
is this easy to do with flex?
    cheers

    Hi,
Yes, it is. Please find a sample at the URL below. You will
find a sample application called Podcast Player. You will find more

  • Using plain old mp3 player with iTunes on Mac

    Hi all,
I want to use a plain, old USB MP3 player (mass storage-type) with iTunes on my Mac (OS X 10.4.x). I asked this question over on the Windows iTunes forum at
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1264196&tstart=0
and wondered if there's anything that'll work on the Mac.
In Windows, I basically have resorted to drag-n-drop from the iTunes window to a Windows Explorer window showing the USB MP3 player as a removable drive, or to using iTunes Agent (http://ita.sourceforge.net), which is a Windows-only solution.
What's the solution on Mac OS X?
    Thanks,
    Matthew

I think a universal "none" is probably a bit presumptuous. If you're able to get music onto the player in Windows via drag and drop, I see no reason why that won't work on the Mac as well, provided that your Mac can recognize the drive. I would imagine it can, as I've never come across a PC formatted drive that my Mac didn't recognize.
There is also a freeware application called XNJB that apparently works as an interface between a Mac and a Creative MP3 player. I haven't used either, so can't vouch for them at all.
Just that like I said, a universal "none" is probably a bit presumptuous.

  • Can I continue to use my MP3 player with M

I have just crossed over to Mac (OS 0.4.) from Windows and would like to keep on using my MP3 player (Creative MuVo200). I am able to sync up with CDs that are already in the music folder but am unable to rip and play whole CDs with either Flip4Mac or even Real Player. The players only seem to be able to play one song at a time rather that open a whole CD. Am I locked into i-tunes?

I have no problem syncing my MP3 player, the problem is with the actual software. I have Windows Media Player, Flip4Mac and Real Player but neither of them read the CD. The only I can do it is by opening a file under the file menu. That doesn't allow me to play the CD though, just play a chosen song within the CD. There also seems to be no way to rip a CD either. I absulutely don't want to use AAC files as they are not compatible with ProTools otherwise I would just stick to i-Tunes. I've also tryed XNJB but have the same problem with that.

  • Mp3 player with movie

can I sync my mp3 player with itunes and download movies with no problems.

Assuming your MP3 player is an iPod with video capabilities, then yes, it is quite possible to sync with iTunes and download movies. That's exactly what iTunes is designed to do, and I do it frequently.
However, I doubt if anybody here would know, better than you, if you can do it with no problems. Have you tried?

  • Help! My MP3 player Died and I'm trying to recover my song

Hi Guys, I don't know if you'll be able to help me but I thought it was worth a shot.
I had a pretty ancient MP3 player (The creative Nomad Jukebox Zen USB 2.0). It basically stopped working (it wouldn't switch on or charge). However it had all my songs on it which i'm trying to gett off the hard drive and put onto my computer.
I've taken out the hard drive and I've put it in a little hard drive case that i bought off Ebay which i connected to my PC via USB. It seems to be recognising it as a USB mass storage device but when i go into My computer there is no additional drive. Below are the details of what I am using

    Any help is much appreciated

your best option would be to find a replacement player, and swap the hardri'ves.
One of the things i've seen countless times on here and other forums are people desparatly trying to find a way to rescue their music as they only have it stored on thier mp3 player/portable device.
With hard dri'ves being relativly cheap, as well as other storage methods it seem odd that people rely on portable devices as their only storage for their digital files.
It doesnt matter how well you may 'look after' yourt mp3 player, at the end of the day ts a portable devices, and will be subjected to some knocks and bumps along the way as well as a multitude of other risks ( ie accidentaly dropping it down the toilet, spilling beer in/on it and so on)
All of my Music is backed up on my P.Cs main hard dri've, and everything on my P.Cs hard dri've ( including the music) is all backed up onto an external USB hard dri've that is stored in another location to my P., also i have another back up on DVD RW of my music files.
Hard disks are cheap, as are adaptors/caddys to plug them into a USB socket, DVD RW media is cheap, your data files are irreplacebale, make sure that you have a back up[ of your stuff.

  • Cs4 mp3 player

Are there any cs4 source files anywhere for a  simple mp3 player?
I looked in the components for a mediaplayer component and I don't see it.

I found the MediaPlayBack component, but I would like to see something like it in an cs4 movie. I cannot publish anything with as2 because flash professional cannot find toplevel.as, even though it is there. It seems like there must be a basic mp3 player out there somewhere with the source code available so people don't have to start from scratch.

  • Creative have had my mp3 player for 3 months now

Hi,?ok, so my problem is this. I bought a 60gb vision M mp3 player back in july/august time, it had broken by mid?september, so it had to be sent off, a month later I hadnt heard anything from creative so gave them?a call, turned out a part they needed wasnt available, so rather than tell me about it they thought they'd leave it. It was agreed that my mp3 player would be replaced with a Creative Vision W 30gb player, since it could take a while to get my original player fixed. Creative sent this to the wrong address, so since November I've been trying to?get Creative to send me a new player. They state that they must track the other one down, but they sent it to the wrong address, it was no fault of mine, so why am I having to?just put?up?with it's?I've recently had 3 identical phone calls, each time I get the response "i'll check it with the RMA team, and get back to you", and "my manager is in a meeting now, sorry". this is ridiculous, i get no call or email, and it looks like its never getting sorted. I am extremely pi**ed off to say the least,? so if someone could give me an address to write/complain to, i'd appreciate it greatly, or at least someone from creative trying to sort this out for me. Thanks to?anyone who has any ideas on what to do about this.
    ps.
what is Creative's reputation in court? cos i honestly think its going to end up there.

my vision:M 30gb lasted 4 days and as we speak is winging its way across the Pacific to US of A to Creative Hospital?sure hope I have better luck than you

  • Can't get movie clip to play on Mp3 player

I have a Coby mP3 player that works well with Mac, except movie clips must be in MTV to work. I have a Quicktime movie clip off the internet, i want to put on the Mp3 player, if possible. Any way to convert the movie so it functions??
    Thanks

taffers is right, especially since I have never heard of "MTV Format," so if this is a real thing, it is probably a proprietary Coby standard.

  • Which in your opinion is the best Zen mp3 player on the market? Around the 3100 ($185) ma

Thinking of getting a new mp3 player and was happy with my last one which was a V Plus from Creative until I misplaced it.
Which in your opinion would be the best, reliable and value for money Creative mp3 player out there at the mo around the 300 ($85) price? have browsed the forum here but everyone seems divided.
    Cheers

You had to have some kudos for the effort put in to your thread as week as the point you make.

  • Creative mp3 player compatibility with PFS car au

I was wondering if the "Plays For Sure" compatible Creative Players will work with the PFS compatible car audio receivers from Kenwood and Alpine. I'm mostly wondering about my Zen Xtra, but I'm sure others would like to know if their players would work also. Is Creative pursuing testing this, or should I just assume that all PFS works with all other PFS?

I purchased music from iTunes, but there is one
problem, I can't play it on my Creative Zen Vision
    MP3 player.
    Yes, you are right.
I even burned a CD with
the music, and it won't play on my car stereo??
You must burn a CD-Audio to play it in your home/car stereo.
If you also want to play those songs on your Creative player, once you've done the CD-Audio you can rip it again in MP3.

  • My Sony mp3 player synced with my iphoto. How do I unsync it? It no longer shows up as a device in my Finder window.

I plugged my Sony mp3 player into my mac mini, Snow Leopard, and it synced with my iphoto. Now it does not show up as a device anywhere, not even iphoto. When I plug in the mp3 via its usb, it opens iphoto. How do I stop this and get it back as a device in my Finder window so I can load songs on it again.

Turns out my Mac put code on the mp3 player because after I reset the mp3 player to its 'factory settings', (erasing everything) it went back to normal and now shows up in the finder window.

  • My Mac Air can't find my MP3 player so I can't download another book. What's wrong with it?

My Mac Air can't find my MP3 player, even though it's plugged in a USB port. Therefore, I can't download another book. How do I fix this problem? Anyone know?
