MP3 player is not an iPod- help needed

I've got an iTunes gift card and would just like to get a few tunes and use my existing setup. I like Windows Media Player and I have a Sansa mp3 player. I can't play my iTunes music with Windows Media Player and I can't sync my mp3 player with iTunes. Can anyone provide help?

You can't use iTunes purchases on anything other than an iPod or an iTunes compatible phone or convert them to another format because of the DRM (Digital Rights Management) copy protection. However if you burn it to an audio CD you can import it back as MP3. You'll be able to use this version of the track on other devices or software.

  • Mp3 player is NOT an ipod- can I get my music on it?

    I have a sony mp3 player, not an ipod, and would like to put the music I have collected in iTunes on my player. I tried one song, and noticed the format is different (I think mp4?) and it would not play it. Is there any way to get the music I have on iTunes on my mp3 player? Would burning the songs to disc then putting them on my computer help?

    Any music and videos purchased on iTunes will not work on any other player other than iPods and iPhones as well as your computer. Sony MP3 players will not play music and videos purchased in iTunes because of the digital rights management included in every purchase.
    You can burn the music to disc. Have a great day.

I click on the link and go through the whole process of downloading the installation file but then nothing happens just a big black box popping up with no prompts and nothing being installed. I am at my wit's end and am in desperate need of what's wrong. Is it my anti virus software? Is it my firefox? I am in desperate need of help. Please advise ASAP.

  • MP3 Player will not play through Mic Jack - NB 550D

    Hi
    MP3 Player will not play through Mic Jack. Is this because I have not setup Realtek Audio Manager correctly?.
    Also is there any way to play the MP3 through a USB Port
    Thx

    Hi
    What notebook do you have?
    The mic jack records the audio signal. But I assume you want to use the mic jack an line-in. Right?
    Usually you have to set the default device in recording tab.
    In control panel -> sound -> recording tab.
    If you will not see any further devices but only mic jack then you should click right and should enable the options; show hidden devices and show disabled devices.
    Possibly then you could enable line in.
    Otherwise such option is not available and not possible

  • MP3 Player does not show in finder.

    I used to have a 1st gen iPod Touch, but that went through the wash and no longer functions. I am now using my backup player which is the first MP3 player I ever owned. It's a Philips GoGear HDD6330 player. The issue I'm having is similar to another issue I had awhile back with my camera. Actually, it's the same problem. When I plug the MP3 player into the MacBook USB Port, it shows up in the System Profiler, but does not appear in the Finder window as an external HDD (which it can indeed be used for when the installed firmware is bypassed as it can be in Windows). In Windows XP, the properties window of the HDD inside the player is that it is a Generic Hierarchical file system. I don't know if that has anything to do with the issue, but I thought I'd mention it anyways.
    I did a search of the community posts, and found several posts stating that I would need to use Disk Utility in order to gain access to the HDD. The problem with this is that I didn't have Disk Utility on my machine for some reason. I say "Didn't" because I recently used Pacifist to recover the App from the Install Disks. However, the version that was on the install disks was not compatible with 10.5.7. In the same post that I found the information about Pacifist (which I will link you to shortly) the last few lines state that after the app is installed, that the Combo Updater should be run to bring the app up to date as well as stating that the permissions need to be repaired. I don't know what that means or how to do it.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6950717&#6950717
    I found the download for the Combo Update for 10.5.7, downloaded it, and ran the install program that was in the package which the .dmg file contained. Everything went smoothly, and I rebooted my MacBook. The Disk Utility app was still not up to date with the OS version. So I ran Pacifist again, only this time I extracted the app from the update installer package, and installed it (after getting rid of the old file that was not compatible with 10.5.7). This version (11.1) is indeed compatible, but it will not launch and also has the default application Icon with the paper, pen, pencil, and ruler. Pictures will be included.
    At this point I don't know how to get Disk Utility to work, and I'm not even sure if using Disk Utility will give me access to my players HDD. Apple Tech won't talk to me because my MacBook is out of warranty, and there's no way in **** I'm paying for a service that should not have to pay for.

  • Syncing mp3 player with iTunes...help

    I have a Trio MP3 player (yes, I know, that is most of the problem, but bear with me)
    iTunes will not allow me to copy song files and convert them to MP3's so I can put them onto the MP3 player. (heaven help me, I miss my iPod) The MP3 player will only play MP3's, not mp4's nor aac files.
    I have tried this by placing the songs I want into a new play list - selecting all files in new playlist - go to advanced - select convert selection to MP3...the mac says that it is converting the requested files to MP3 format. Yet, it only turned them into AAC files. I have changed the preferences of importing and burning to MP3 (from AAC), but to no avail. I repeat the steps above and get the same result.
    I have also moved the songs into a file on the desktop, but connot convert them from there.
    iTunes also will not let me change the AAC files I purchased from iTunes into MP3's...they are "protected".
    Help.
    I wasn't able to buy another iPod after ours was stolen, so got this instead. All I want to do is be able to take the songs I legally purchased from iTunes and the ones I importeed from my own legally purchase cd's and put them on this MP3 player. ( I cannot reimport the cd music, those were stolen along with the iPod)
    Help!

    Have you tried updating your iTunes Library to iTunes Plus. This will enable you to convert those purchases, as iTunes Plus songs and music videos are DRM-free. You can update your library for 30¢ a song, as long as your purchases are available in the new format.

  • From an MP3 Player to my NEW Ipod?

    I just made the jump from my old MP3 player (Creative Zen Jukebox Xtra 30 GB) to the 30GB Ipod. I want to transfer the 1100 songs that I have from my old MP3 Player to my Ipod. Is it possible to transfer these songs without having to lose any info or even downloading them all to my computer first?

    Ok my problem is just like that other guy's. I have a Creative Zen Neeon 6GB but upgraded to a 30GB vid. ipod. I uploaded all my CDs to the iPod but I was still missing the files from the Zen. I went into iTunes and imported the files into the library, but when I tried to delete one from the Zen, it showed in iTunes that the files could not be found and i had to delete it from iTunes. How do I move it from the Zen to the Hard Drive to the iTunes? Step by step would be nice:) If you could help me as soon as possible that would be GREAT!

  • Cd/mp3 player was not playing all tunes burned to disk

    Got my Mojo workin'.
    That's a TDK "Mojo" CD-MP3 Digital Jukebox.
    Sit back and relax while I tell of my Grand Journey of Exploration. (There is a question below too.)
    I had made a some iTunes playlists of MP3s, and decided to burn them on CD-R disks for my portable player. I had them all sorted by Artist and Album. The burn process seemed to go well, but when I loaded the first disk into the Mojo, it seemed to scan the entire disk and count all the tunes. It finished counting after it found all 193 titles. However, when I tried to play them, it would only play the first 26 tunes or so. (Another disk I had burned at the same time (different playlist) gave similar unsatisfactory results, something like 19 out of 186 tunes.) I knew the Mojo was not a current model, and thought maybe there was some weird file incompatibility thing going on.
    I popped the disk into my son's CD/MP3 player ("Koss" brand), and it managed to find 30 or 40 of them. A bit better, but not perfect.
    I tried it in my DVD player, and it was able to play all 193 tunes. In fact, it loaded and started playing quicker than I had ever seen it do before. It usually thrashes and whirs for an annoyingly long time.
    The odd thing was that the Koss was able to play all 76 tunes on another disk I had burned over a year ago, on my wife's Mac, with a version of iTunes for Mac System 9.2. Unfortunately, those files were gone from her Mac so I couldn't see what the iTunes setup was. I was thinking maybe the newer version of iTunes had a bug or something.
    Then I inspected the old and new disks in the Finder and noticed that the new disk had a bunch of folders with the Artists' names, and each artist folder had folders within them with Album names, and the tunes were inside those folders.
    The old disk (which worked fine in the Mojo player) just had the MP3 files and no folders whatsoever. I knew I was onto something, but I couldn't figure out how to burn a folder-less MP3 disk from iTunes, as opposed to doing it manually via the Finder.
    I searched Apple.com > Support > Discussions > iTunes for Mac > Importing & Burning in iTunes for Mac yet again, this time using "folders" for the search term, and up popped several threads where people wanted files organized by folders on disks:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1464192
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1791538
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=781976
    ... which brought me to the document "iTunes: How to set the play order of songs on an MP3 CD", at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60931
    So, I removed the columns for "Artist" and "Album" names from the playlist, and burned it, et voila! it worked just fine in my Mojo, which plays all 193 tunes. (Too bad I didn't fix the ID3 tags beforehand.)
    Now, for points:
    I had the playlist sorted by Artist, and here are the first four titles (of 193)
    Title ____________ Artist____________
    Relative Ways ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
    Mistakes & Regrets ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
    Jubilation 20 Minute Loop
    Queen of Pain Alkaline Trio
    Muffin57 All Natural Lemon And Lime Flavors
    ... etc.
    Then when I remove the "Artist" column so that it only shows the Titles, it resorts like this:
    Title ____________
    Blacken My Thumb
    Buckler
    After School Thunder
    Futuristic Genitalia
    Once In A Lifetime (Cul De Sac)
    ... etc.
    This is not the same as it was, nor is it alphabetical by Title.
    If I click on the Title column header of course, it is ordered alphabetically by title, like this:
    Title ____________
    (Do Not Feed The) Oyster
    (Got My) Rock Pants On
    3 Away
    27
    68
    Adventures In Conversation
    After School Thunder
    Algorithm Of Desire
    Alive and Amplified
    ... etc.
    Other than dragging all 193 tunes, one at a time, in order manually, how can I keep the original play order by Artist, without creating folders on the burned CD?
    There is talk of "Copy to Play Order" in the iTunes Help/Support files...
    To use this command, Control-click one of the songs in the playlist,
    and choose "Copy to Play Order" from the shortcut menu. Tip: These
    steps also apply to a playlist you have reordered directly (by clicking
    on one of the column headers like Artist or Album).
    ... but I don't see that option when I Control-click anything. The bottom menuitem in the popup menu is "Clear". Same results with Right-clicking.

    Hmm. I see that the spaces have been chopped out in part of my first post, and it appears that I cannot edit it.
    For clarity's sake, these are the Artists' names, in the partial listing for Ordered by Artist example in my previous post:
    ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
    ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
    20 Minute Loop
    Alkaline Trio
    All Natural Lemon And Lime Flavors

  • Creative Zen vision M 30 GB MP3 player does not resp

    My Creative Zen vision M 30 GB MP3 player stopped working. It does not turn on, does not charge, does not respond to anything. Is the battery dead or what would be the problem. Please help.

    There are a multitude of problems that could be causing your player to exhibit this behavior in addition to battery failure, including the failure of the main logic board. If the player has been dropped a few times, exposed to excessi've heat, or high humidity/water, the problem might not be the battery. On the other hand, if the battery has been allowed to fully exhaust on a regular basis and left uncharged for long periods, it is possible that the battery could be dead, but LIon batteries usually last at least 2-3 years with regular use and normal recharging practices if they haven't been abused.

  • MP3 - getStreamLength - using a virtual path help needed !

    Hi to all,
    I am trying to get the Stream.length of an MP3 file type but
    using also a virtual path that is assigned to the Vhost.XML.
    After many tries i only manage to make it work only if the
    MP3`s are sitting inside the
    FMS_root_directory_applications_myMusicApp into a folder with the
    name "streams" wherever else i use the code that i am writing below
    it returns "0 seconds" as the Stream.length of every MP3.
    In the main.asc i use this code :
    application.onConnect = function(newClient, userObject,
    name){
    if(userObject.userType == "Test_Music"){
    newClient.virtualKey = "Music";
    newClient.name = name;
    newClient.getTheLength = function(streamName) {
    trace("The "+streamName+" Total Time is
    "+Stream.length(streamName)+" : seconds");
    return Stream.length(streamName);
    application.acceptConnection(newClient);
    In the Fla. file i use this to get the length:
    var V_Path:String = "Music/";
    var TheSound:String = "MyMp3";
    var streamName:String = "mp3:"+V_Path+TheSound;
    nc.call("getTheLength", { onResult: Delegate.create(this,
    setDuration) }, streamName);
    function setDuration(nLength:Number):Void {
    trace(nLength + " seconds");
    Everything is streaming, everything works well, but i can`t
    get the StreamLength thou i can stream the MP3 from a virtual path
    Any help would be appreciated, i have tried many times with
    diferent ways and nothing returns me what i need !

  • Why your MP3 player is not work

    An easy answer is it is broken :wink:
    Now I don't know if this is true, but many years
    ago there was a story circulating that Sun Microsystems
    did not do any burn in testing of the computer systems
    it shipped. It was cheaper simply to allow the system to
    fail, suffer the " infant mortality" in the field, and
    ship the end user a new part no questions asked.
    Probably not 00% true, but I doubt MP3 players get
    a week of operation at elevated temperatures before
    final acceptance test and shipping.
    The end user does the final testing :wink: And electronic
    devices tend to either die soon, infant mortality, or fail
    in the "wear out" phase, and have a long and happy life in
    between if they get beyond the infant mortality stage.

    Any music and videos purchased on iTunes will not work on any other player other than iPods and iPhones as well as your computer. Sony MP3 players will not play music and videos purchased in iTunes because of the digital rights management included in every purchase.
    You can burn the music to disc. Have a great day.

  • Major Ipod help needed

    All right, one day, a few months ago, my sister lost her nano and found it the next day in a puddle beside her car. When she tried her iPod, it was acting a bit erratic, and barely worked. You could only listen to it on an iHome, but the wheel didn't work, sometimes the screen would lock up, it wouldn't accept a charge from the iHome, her laptop, nor our computer, it wouldn't show up on iTunes, and sometimes it would just flat out not work. Only last night was when she decided to throw it away. Being the pack rat and electronics fiddler I am, I took it, hooked it up, and it worked pretty well on my iHome, the wheel worked, songs played well, but it still wouldn't charge, and the date and times were reset. When I removed the iPod, it would go a bit crazy before it shut itself off, and when I plugged it into a computer the iPod screen says "Please wait...very low battery" but it will stay like that until you unplug it. and now to finally get to what I'm asking, I've tried any logical troubleshooting, but nothing worked, is my only other option to send it into Apple? and if so, how much do you think it would cost to have them repair it?
    Message was edited by: [M]ike

    Seems the iPod Nano does not get charged - battery problem?
    If none of these steps address the issue, your iPod may need to be repaired.
    Consider setting up a mail-in repair for your iPod http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
    Or visit your local Apple Retail Store http://www.apple.com/retail/
    In case your iPod is no longer covered by the warranty and you want to find a second repairing company, you can try iPodResQ or ifixit at your own risk
