MP3 Player, XML, Cover and Link

Hi,
i wonder if i can easily creat an MP3 player for my website
with flex. I need a simple player that shows the cover, band and
title of the song that is played. the player should start by random
if the user enters the site. the user is able to skip forward and
backward and to stop playing. all data comes from an XML file.
i want the view of the player to be changed if i want to.
size, color.
is this easy to do with flex?
cheers
denis

Hi,
Yes, it is. Please find a sample at the URL below. You will
find a sample application called Podcast Player. You will find more

  • FCP XML import and linking .r3d

I have a sequence that was originally edited in FCP (7.0) using ProRes proxies created out of RedCine. I remember that in Premiere 5.5 when you imported the XML, premiere re-linked the original .r3d's with all the scale and position attributes.
When I import the XML into Premiere CC it doesn't reconnect the .r3d files.
Did something change with CC or is there something wrong with the XML?

Thank you all for your help. It still leaves a bit of a workflow problem. <br /><br />Basically we have some people ingesting / organizing content and maintaining on a network share. Duplicating the media is slow and moving it all into one volume is not too good either as it breaks all the relationships for others. Re-linking is good, but doesn't work if the material is spread across subdirectories and giving a key to link all the media together looses some of the benefit of having the export from FCP in the first place, it's just as easy to re-make the edit.<br /><br />We are only using cut edits, so this is quite simple. For users on the Mac using FCP and handing off to Premier it works fine, the problem is we want to hand off to Windows Premier. It's ok to run a script over the files to change the XML naming of the <pathurl> which seems to be causing the problem, but how to describe this in the Windows world?<br /><br />Thanks for all the help.... anyone from Adobe with any ideas?<br /><br />The problem as I see it is how to identify Mac OS mounts to a Windows version of Premier on XML import.

  • Flash based AA battery mp3 player with AM and FM rad

There are so many mp3 players out there, but none that have the features I want. I also want variable speed playback, so I can play lectures back at speeds between half and double normal speed. I listen to many lectures at around .4 times normal speed on my pc. I want to also do that on a portable mp3 player. I also want a nice sized display. I don't want the smallest possible player. As long as it will fit in a typical shirt pocket I would be happy. That means a player up to around the size of an audio cassette but perhaps a bit thicker. i also want a player with many buttons. I hare using a joystic and multi teired menus. I want to switch from mp3 music to the radio (or back) with just one press of a button.

  • Flash MP3 player with AM and FM rad

Why is it that the only MP3 players I see with AM and FM are CD based? Some people have a great desire to listen to AM radio for sporting events, news, or talk radio. It is so annoying for me to have to carry a separate radio with my n200 so that I can have my music as well as AM radio. The funny thing is that I listen to AM radio much more than FM. I usually like to either listen to my music or to AM radio. I also have an MP3 cd player with AM and FM, however that is even larger than both the n200 plus a small separate radio. Since I don't want to constantly swap the earphones from the n200 to the radio and back, I am also carrying two sets of earphones.
My ideal flash mp3 player would be
    ) At least 4 gigs
    2) have both AM and FM radio
    3) Run on a AA battery.
AA batteries hold 2.5 times the power of a AAA yet are often lower in price.
    4) have a decent sized display.
    5) Have a separate button that with one press switches from mp3 music to the radio or back.
    6) Supports subscription music
    7) has a built in clock with the time constantly displayed, even when the player is off.
While such a player would be slightly larger than the Nano Plus, it would be so much more functional.. There are still some who want the smallest possible player so I wouldn't want to see such a player replace the Nano Plus, however it would be nice if such a player would replace the TX FM which is too similar to the Nano Plus(who really cares whether the USB plug is on the player itself?).

I think the reason you don't see AM radios in 00% digital products (such as MP3 players) is not enough demand to tackle two significant technical issues:
The ferrite-coil antennas used by most portable AM radios take up a lot of room on circuit boards; some MP3 players are too small for them, while others simply can't give up valuable circuit-board real estate for a feature used by so few people. OTOH, most portable FM radios use the headphone cord as an antenna, so they can be smaller.</LI>
AM frequencies and channel spacing vary around the world in ways that make a "one size fits all" digital solution very hard to implement. The US AM band runs from 535-705 kHz with 0-kHz spacing (540, 550, ... , 700); in other parts of the world it still runs from 535-605 kHz, and/or uses 9-kHz spacing which is incompatible. OTOH, nearly all major countries, except Japan, have adopted FM bands in the 87.5 (88 in the US) to 08 MHz range, and all spacing schemes are multiples of the narrowest one, 50 kHz (it's 00 kHz in most countries, 200 kHz in the US), so a digital FM tuner covering 87.5-08 MHz with 50-kHz spacing will work everywhere but Japan.</LI>
Also, digital-radio considerations in the US may inhibit the sale of new AM radios here. The US digital-radio standard is an IBOC (in-band, on-channel) system, where the analog and digital broadcasts share the same frequency and signal. Though this is supposed to allow simultaneous analog and digital broadcasts as long as broadcasters want them (unlike DAB systems in other countries and digital TV even in the US, where the digital signal is separate and broadcasters must eventually give up their analog spectrum), even IBOC broadcasters will eventually go all-digital. Since the bandwidth of digital AM is so limited (at present it only promises "FM quality" while digital FM promises "CD quality") and digital limits analog sound quality (especially on AM where it's poor to begin with), it's likely AM will want to go 00% digital long before FM does. Limiting analog AM radios now makes it easier for AM to make that painful transition.

  • MP3 player with AM and FM tun

It is so annoying not having an AM tuner on my MP3 player. It means that I need to carry a separate radio when I want to listen to AM. It would be nice if Creative came out with a flash memory based MP3 player series that has an AM and FM tuner, uses a AA battery, has a larger display than on the N200, and comes in capacities of 52 meg, one gig, and two gig(with larger capacities to be released later as flash memory prices drop).

The mass market listens to both AM and FM. Sports enthusiasts listen to sports on AM. Others listen to news or talk radio on AM. I am not a sports enthsiast, however I do like listening to news and talk radio on AM. If the FM spectrum was larger, it would be nice if these stations could move to FM, however in large cities the FM band is already crowded. FM is definitely the better technology, although cetain programming(news, talk radio, sports, etc.) isn't available on FM. I also like to sometimes listen to FM radio, as well as my favorite music from my CDs. Eventually when sattelite receivers get much smaller and the monthly fee smaller(or perhaps later there won't be a monthly fee?) then I would like a sattelite radio revei'ver that is also a flash memory MP3 player.

  • XML Content and Linked containers

Hi, I just downloaded the trial of CS5 and I was wondering how to do the following.
I have 5 XML files that load into my site.  Each one is called by a button click.  On the initial stage I have 2 containers which are linked for overflow text.  So here is my problem.  When I click on any button the content in the second text box stays there and only the content of the first one changes.
    SO question...
How do i get the new text that is loaded from the XML to flow to the second container? OR the second container clear its content if there is no overflow?
    Thanks so much!!

  • Did anyone else order a Zen MP3 Player from Dell and not receive key piec

I ordered my Creative Zen Vision M on Monday from Dell and received it today sans the power adapter and Quick Start Guide. Has this happened to anyone else? I had to spend 30 minutes on the phone with Dell only to have them send me here.

I've just looked at the US Dell site and it lists a power adaptor there so I would say it's down to them to provide one. In the UK we have a Sale of Goods Act we can call on in these situations.
I would get a copy of the Dell web page for the Vision: M you bought and then phone them up to see what they will do about it.
I still reckon it's Dell's problem, not Creative's. After all, it's Dell who said the power adaptor should be included not Creative as there web site doesn't list it. The reason it's in the manual is the one I gave above about Creative reducing the package contents after a while to cut the cost and make it more competiti've.
I had a similar problem with a V200 I bought in the UK but from a French-owned retailer. The website said it would have a case and armband and it didn't - when I went back to the website the description had been changed so I didn't get anywhere.
    Good luck

  • MMC card and MP3 player - 1/2 capacity after format?

    Hi,
I got an MP3 player (1 Gb) and a MMC card (2 Gb) and after format in a USB card reader from OS X 10.4.7, they are now 512 Kb and I Gb respectively. MS Dos or Mac format doesn't matter.
Is it a USB 1 or 2 problem?
    Any one know about this?
    EF

Well I have solved the problems and I post here in case others encounter them.
The MMC/SDC card was fixed by getting a true USB 2.0 card reader, the one I had was about USB 1 & 5/8 ths.
The MP3 player was a rip off, sold as 1 Gb but really only 512 Kb see:

  • Cd/mp3 player was not playing all tunes burned to disk

    Got my Mojo workin'.
    That's a TDK "Mojo" CD-MP3 Digital Jukebox.
Sit back and relax while I tell of my Grand Journey of Exploration. (There is a question below too.)
I had made a some iTunes playlists of MP3s, and decided to burn them on CD-R disks for my portable player. I had them all sorted by Artist and Album. The burn process seemed to go well, but when I loaded the first disk into the Mojo, it seemed to scan the entire disk and count all the tunes. It finished counting after it found all 193 titles. However, when I tried to play them, it would only play the first 26 tunes or so. (Another disk I had burned at the same time (different playlist) gave similar unsatisfactory results, something like 19 out of 186 tunes.) I knew the Mojo was not a current model, and thought maybe there was some weird file incompatibility thing going on.
I popped the disk into my son's CD/MP3 player ("Koss" brand), and it managed to find 30 or 40 of them. A bit better, but not perfect.
I tried it in my DVD player, and it was able to play all 193 tunes. In fact, it loaded and started playing quicker than I had ever seen it do before. It usually thrashes and whirs for an annoyingly long time.
The odd thing was that the Koss was able to play all 76 tunes on another disk I had burned over a year ago, on my wife's Mac, with a version of iTunes for Mac System 9.2. Unfortunately, those files were gone from her Mac so I couldn't see what the iTunes setup was. I was thinking maybe the newer version of iTunes had a bug or something.
Then I inspected the old and new disks in the Finder and noticed that the new disk had a bunch of folders with the Artists' names, and each artist folder had folders within them with Album names, and the tunes were inside those folders.
The old disk (which worked fine in the Mojo player) just had the MP3 files and no folders whatsoever. I knew I was onto something, but I couldn't figure out how to burn a folder-less MP3 disk from iTunes, as opposed to doing it manually via the Finder.
I searched Apple.com > Support > Discussions > iTunes for Mac > Importing & Burning in iTunes for Mac yet again, this time using "folders" for the search term, and up popped several threads where people wanted files organized by folders on disks:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1464192
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1791538
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=781976
... which brought me to the document "iTunes: How to set the play order of songs on an MP3 CD", at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60931
So, I removed the columns for "Artist" and "Album" names from the playlist, and burned it, et voila! it worked just fine in my Mojo, which plays all 193 tunes. (Too bad I didn't fix the ID3 tags beforehand.)
    Now, for points:
I had the playlist sorted by Artist, and here are the first four titles (of 193)
    Title ____________ Artist____________
Relative Ways ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
Mistakes & Regrets ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
    Jubilation 20 Minute Loop
    Queen of Pain Alkaline Trio
Muffin57 All Natural Lemon And Lime Flavors
    ... etc.
Then when I remove the "Artist" column so that it only shows the Titles, it resorts like this:
    Title ____________
    Blacken My Thumb
    Buckler
    After School Thunder
    Futuristic Genitalia
Once In A Lifetime (Cul De Sac)
    ... etc.
This is not the same as it was, nor is it alphabetical by Title.
If I click on the Title column header of course, it is ordered alphabetically by title, like this:
    Title ____________
    (Do Not Feed The) Oyster
    (Got My) Rock Pants On
    3 Away
    27
    68
    Adventures In Conversation
    After School Thunder
    Algorithm Of Desire
    Alive and Amplified
    ... etc.
Other than dragging all 193 tunes, one at a time, in order manually, how can I keep the original play order by Artist, without creating folders on the burned CD?
There is talk of "Copy to Play Order" in the iTunes Help/Support files...
To use this command, Control-click one of the songs in the playlist,
and choose "Copy to Play Order" from the shortcut menu. Tip: These
steps also apply to a playlist you have reordered directly (by clicking
on one of the column headers like Artist or Album).
... but I don't see that option when I Control-click anything. The bottom menuitem in the popup menu is "Clear". Same results with Right-clicking.
    300 MHz "Blue & White" G3   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   iTunes 6.0.5

Hmm. I see that the spaces have been chopped out in part of my first post, and it appears that I cannot edit it.
For clarity's sake, these are the Artists' names, in the partial listing for Ordered by Artist example in my previous post:
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
    20 Minute Loop
    Alkaline Trio
All Natural Lemon And Lime Flavors

  • Using an iPod with another mp3 player

    Hello,
My wife got a Sansa Lil Monster mp3 player for Christmas and I know it will not work with iTunes. How do I transfer music onto her player without messing up my iPod?
    Thanks in advance.

If you can drag songs to your MP3 player through Windows Explorer you just need to locate the files in the iTunes Music and copy them over. This should have no effect on your iPod. You won't be able to copy songs downloaded from the iTunes music store as they will only work on iPods or Motorola iTunes enabled phones but everything else is usable.

  • NEW MP3 PLAYER FOR C7, please!

I find the MP3 player for the Nokia C7 to be very user-unfriendly and poorly designed.
My old 6120's mp3 player was better, including separate menus for All Tracks, Artist, Album, Genres, Composer and included the possibility to search for tracks, artists, etc.
It surprises me that a newer "smart phone" with touch screen and so many improvements in usability could have a primitive mp3 player with Artists and Albums combined and not even including search menu.
How about designing a new mp3 player as an app???
For more details see my post here:
     /t5/Music/C7-mp3-player/m-p/1048555#M18052
Another recommendation is to add only a few smart button on the newer phones out on the market so that one can at least pause the music and skip to the next track without unlocking the screen and opening the player.

If you are looking for a Creative player only The Zen V and Zen V plus are good options. I think they will satisfy most of your requirements.
Strike that, I don't think this will act as an "external hard dri've" as described in bMessage Edited by fdreinthea on 2-2-200605:37 AM

Have you consulted the User Manual for the MP3 Player or contacted the Technical Support of the MP3 Player manufacturer?
The MP3 Player User Manual should have step-by-step instructions on how to do this with their hardware.
This is not a Windows related problem.  This is your MP3 player's problem and you need to contact the manufacturer of your MP3 player if you are unable to get it to function as intended.  The manufacturer of the MP3 player has sole responsibility
for support of their product, not Microsoft!

  • Flash AIR MP3 Player?

    Hello,
I posted this under AIR but had no luck in finding an answer.
I am working with an artist who is releasing a new CD.  Is it possible to create an MP3 Player in Flash and distribute it as an AIR app will all songs (say 7-10 tracks) contained in the app?
I believe I read so in Layers Magazine but wasn't sure of the best way to do so.  My thinking was he could email the app as a promotional tool.  But, I am new to AIR.
    Thanks.

    Hey Kglad,
Yeah, that is where I am going with this.........my thinking was to create a desktop app for the artist.  Users could install it once and we could change hout the tracks.  I would have a photo of the artist with some animation, maybe add news, show updates that kind of thing to the app.
I just have no idea how to build that dynamically.  Does the code call out to a URL?  Would that work.
Also, is your gut that AIR is too much trouble?  I thought the intstal/uninstall looked clean in the tests I have done.
There is a newspaper in London that does a great job of doing this.  They actually use greenscreen video and a girl gives walks out on your screen and gives you the news updates.  Once it's installed, you can click on the icon and get the news updates daily.
    Thanks.

  • Mp3 player not work

My son got his mp3 player for christmas and has been very pleased with it. However it is now coming up with the words ' file system error ' on the display. I have tried to format it but it is just not being recognised on my computer. When I plug it into the usb hub it says it has found a high speed usb device plugged into a non hi speed system device so it has obviously found it but then when I go into windows explorer to try and format it , I get the message please insert a disc into dri've F. I have been onto your website and looked into uninstalling the drivers and then trying to install them again, I get as far as device manager but then am not sure which usb hub relates to the player , Any ideas ?

    Hi,
Are you using the Creative Formatter program? The original TX did not support formatting directly from Windows Explorer and you need to use this program. Upgrading the firmware adds this support (for FAT 6/FAT 32) but I'd take this one step at a time and get the unit working using this utility first.
