Mp3 popping

I did a quick search but did not see my exact problem. Apologies if this question has already been asked/answered.
I'm in the process of cutting together a short movie and am using mp3 files for some background music. There seems to be a strange "popping" noise in these tracks when I play it back in the time line that is not there in the original tracks played in QuickTime. It sounds like an intermittent click or popping noise as if a headphone jack was loose or something. The noise shows up regardless of whether I'm using a pair of headphones, external or internal speakers, and it's only on the tracks with the mp3 files, not any of the dialogue or an AIFF file that has some voice over narration.
Is there something about mp3s that I'm overlooking? Or is it a possible encoding malfunction that will be corrected when I do the final encoding for the film and export to QuickTime or DVD?

mp3 files need rendering to stop the bleeping noise. Simply make sure the Timeline is selected and press the cmd and R keys simultaneously.
Rendering will usually take a few seconds.

Audio is always making a popping sound

I have had iTunes for quite awhile now, but I have had an issue since the first time I installed iTunes on this new computer. It is the only audio player that makes a crappy mp3 POPPING sound, no matter weather it is a purchased song, an imported CD or what ever. It drives me nuts. When I use this computer to update or upload to my iPod, my iPod works fine. This has to be some type of setting that is causing this. Any ideas???

Try to reinstall the new iTunes version or click help/check for updates. I got these pops too, whem my cpu usage is too high. Hit CtrlAltDel (Taskmanager) click on the process tab, select itunes, rightclick it, select change process priority, high.

HOW TO EXTRACT A WORD IN A PATH???

I'm using the method getPath() for a File object included in a Vector.
I would like to put the name of a subdirectory
in a Label.
For example, in this path:
C:\MP3\POP\Madonna\Frozen.mp3
How can I just put the word Madonna in a Label.

You will have to parse the string yourself.
It shouldn't be much work to do.
Substring to the last \ then repeat.
You could also use a StringTokenizer and tokenize on \ (or the path seperator for any other platform).
Then you just have to get the second to last token

After sharing itunes with MP3 rocket I get a pop up window telling me that my Apple Push is not working at present. Do I need apple push?Everything is working well for me with itunes and Rocket. Also what is Apple push.

I have been sharing itunes with MP3 rocket but I still purchase many songs and books from itunes normally.I have not had any trouble. Just recently a pop up window appears after I have been sharing and it tells me that my Apple Push is not working corectly and windows is looking for the problem. What is Apple Push and do I need it. as everything seems to be working well for me.Can you please advise me.

The mp3 in my imovie has pops and clicks

but the original mp3 is clean asa whistle

why is this happening
i have wiped out the clips audio by going to inspector and bringing the volume down
but the mp3 ( an ongoing song ) has episodic clicks and pops

I use no .mp3 audio in any of my movie projects - in iMovie HD6 or iM'08-11 or FinalCut Express or FinalCut Pro.
I convert (all various audio formats) to .aiff 16-bit 48kHz or use audio from audio-CDs .aiff 16-bit 44.1kHz.
I use Audacity (free audio editor on internet) to do this.
Result - No pops or clicks.

"FILE NOT FOUND" KEEPS POPPING UP AND THE MP3 FILE IS MISSING?

I PULLED AN MP3 FILE FROM MY ITUNES LIBRARY THAT RUNS OFF MY EXTERNAL HARDDRIVE INTO A SESSION AND CHOPPED IT UP AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE! THEN I DRAGGED MY FILES OVER TO MY EXTERNAL HARDDRIVES TO FREE UP SPACE BUT DRUG THAT PARTICULAR PROJECT FOLDER BACK TO MY MACBOOK PRO AND WHEN I OPENED THE SESSION THE FILE NOT FOUND ERROR POPPED UP AND THE MP3 IS NOT IN PLAYBACK SESSION? THE PARTS I CUT UP ARE NOW GREY AND THE AUDIO BIN SHOWS THE NAME OF FILE BUT WITH AN ! AT THE END AND WILL NOT PLAY?????? WHAT DO I DO???? THE AUDIO FILE FOLDER FOR THAT PROJECT SHOWS THE MP3 FILE???

Audio Popping -- Searched the archives, no answer. NOT mp3 problem!

My client has a sony handycam DCR-SR47, and I'm working from home so she uploads the files to her server (the camera has a hard drive, no tape deck) and I take it from there. Since the files are in MPEG-2, I convert them to .dv using Visual Hub, but even though the raw .dv clips have no popping, the problems begin when I load them into a sequence in FCP.
The popping happens in the timeline, and also after I compress the timeline to a .mov file, too. The raw footage (MPEG-2 & converted .dv) are OK. In addition, there are no .mp3 files in the project. All my music files are .aif, and they're not the ones that are making the noise... It's the audio from the footage. When I import the .dv file to my FCP project, the audio makes a popping noise (similar to the one that mp3s make).
I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with the clip & sequence settings? The clips' audio have 48.0 KHz rates and the format is "32-bit Floating point." The sequence is set at 48 KHz, 16-bit depth, config: default, stereo output. Is it the 32-bit and 16-bit that don't match up, or do those two have nothing to do with each other? The settings on the sequence only allow 8-bit, 16-bit, and 24-bit. Also, another thing I noticed was that for some reason, when I bring the clips into the timeline, the pan is set to -1 as a default, and FCP won't let me edit the two audio tracks independently... It lumps them together as "Stereo (a1a2)," rather than the two separate tracks when you import DV footage from a camera. Hope this information is somewhat illustrative.
Any advice on how to get rid of this popping would be much appreciated! As I said before, I will send anyone interested a link to the video if you'd like to hear for yourself.

Why are you converting to .dv? Final Cut Pro works with .mov files.
Download a free copy of [MPEG Streamclip|http://www.squared5.com] and use it to directly convert the files to QuickTime .mov using the DV codec.
In MPEG Streamclip: File > Open Files. Choose your MPEG2.
If you are offered the option to fix data or timecode breaks, click on OK.
Then, File > Export to QuickTime. Click the codec list at the top and select DV. Set quality to 100%. Click on Make Movie. Choose a destination.

Clicks and pops when QuickTime plays mp3 files in Safari

When I use Safari to play a mp3 file which opens with Quicktime in a new window, the playback is full of tiny clicks and pops. It sounds like there is a conversion (from 44,1kHz to 48kHz) problem, but I don't know how to be sure - or how to change settings to avoid this. It happens with streaming mp3 files from everywhere (not only a single website).
Anybody else experiencing this?

I can play the same files with any other app sans click, including QT player itself when it's not inside Safari

Removing pops and clicks in MP3s recorded from vinyl??

I have some mp3s recorded from vinyl. I would like to know of any good software to take those mp3s and remove any pops/clicks/noise. I'm willing to pay for some good software. Please let me know what to look for, as I've never used any software to alter my songs.

There is a very good free-ware program called Audacity which has quite a good noise removal tool. You first profile the noise by selecting a section of just noise then get it to remove it, works quite well. As for clicks and pops in the old days when I used to edit quarter inch tape if you recorded a vinyl at 15 inches per second onto the tape you could actually edit out the click or pop with no discernible gap in the music. With audacity you could zoom right in and cut the clicks and pops out laborious I know. But trying to filter them doesn't work very successfully unless you are prepared to throw very large sums of money and use one of the devises or software made by somebody like Cedar.

Clicking on a music (MP3) link doesn't work - new window pops up but nothing happens?

As stated above - a blank (UNTITLED) window pops up, but no player, no music. I just had some issues (virus, etc) and my PC was undated, fixed with the newest version of Firefox installed. I'm I now missing something?

For starters your Mac does not have a virus.
It sounds like you have installed adware on your Mac probably from a download from a shady site that adds malware to their download. To get rid of it, try http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php

Help! i upgraded my itunes to 7.0.2 and I can't burn my mp3's?????

I am having the same problem like many other posts as to burning mp3's on the latest version of itunes.
my itunes was working fine till i downloaded the latest version and i tried to burn some songs that i even downloaded from itunes. i am having 2 major problems:
(1) when i try to burn a playlist that i purchased from itunes it starts off like it's going to intitalize the burn then a warning pops up stating that 'none of the files can be burned to mp3 cd' then i click on the arrow to see the reason why i can't burn and it states 'itunes store files cannot be burned to an mp3 cd'. this has never happened before i have downloaded music from itunes before and never had this problem.
(2)the second problem i am having is the songs that my itunes will allow me to burn ( mostly transfered from my personal cd's and other downloads) burn in the usual manner but the don't play on my cd player....at all. i am using the correct cd's and my stereo is playing other burned cd's fine. the stereo is not old and i don't have any problem burning other files to cd. i tried everything...i even bought new blank cd's and i'm still having the problem. what is it? and how can i fix it.
please help if anyone has any advice!!!!

No version of iTunes has ever allowed you to burn songs from the iTunes Store to MP3 CD.
I think you need to change your burning setting in Preferences > Advanced > Burning to Audio CD.

Adobe Reader new downloads keep popping up. What is it and do I have to pay for it and how can it h

Hi all............I was reading my sat nav cd on my computer and 'adobe Reader new downloads' keeps popping up. When I asked a friend do I need this they just say 'no' but I am curious and like to learn. What is 'Adobe' Reader OR 'Acrobat'. You see I'm trying to learn how to use the mp3 plaver on my sat nav and download updates for it but there's never anything to say 'how much' or 'free' and there is so much to read. Anyway does anyone know if these downloads are free? and what do they do? All help welcome as I don't understand at all what it is? Oh and thanks in advance :)

IPhone won't play music imported from CDs or mp3s not downloaded from itunes

When I first downloaded iOS 7, all of the music I had in my iTunes synched to my iPhone, but now new CDs I just imported and previous songs I imported from CDs won't synch (I've tried over wifi and usb). When I click on songs on my phone that were from CDs, they look as if they are going to play and then skip immediately. Mp3s I downloaded do the same thing. Mind you, everything was working fine until updating to iOS 7.0.4. I've been looking around the forums and have found that problems like this are relatively common and it's a shame Apple hasn't done anything to fix it.
When my phone is hooked up and I click on "on this iPhone", it says the music from CDs and mp3s is on, but the titles come up gray with these litte circle things next to them
Just checking now, I noticed some songs I bought from iTunes are doing the same thing.
I tried manually synching, but when I click to drag the songs into my phone, the section that has music, movies, etc. just flashes and nothing happens. I know something is wrong because I just put a ringtone onto my phone the same way.
Oh, I also noticed that when my iPhone is synching and the steps go through at the top it skips steps 3, 4, and sometimes 5 (The Apple symbol pops up instead then goes straight to 6 and 7) so I know it's not recognizing the fact I put a bunch of new music in iTunes. Also, when I look at the bar at the bottom that shows how much memory is on my phone, this shows up:
and that Documents and Data thing was not there before.
Can someone please give me ideas on how I can stop this rediculousness without buying a new phone?
