Mp3 Transfer

At first: I hope you´ll understand my explaination in english....
My problem:
I have a lot of folders with mp3 on my external hard drive. I want to put the onto my Xperia Z1.
First I have put the sd-card in the reader slot of my notebook an copied all the folder on it an put the sd card back into the phone. Only a few folders were found by the phone.
I deleted the sd card by using the phone´s deleting function and tried it again with the "MediaGo" Software. The Software departed the albums. e.g.: I had a folder with the album "Iron Maiden - Some where in time" and the MediaGo-Software made out of it 3 Folder with a few songs in each of them.
If no idea what to do anymore. Just copy the folders from the external hard drive to the sd card doesn´t work, right ?
I just the Sony Walkman App to listen to the songs...

As long as the music is in a format supported by the phone you can just copy the folders and files. Are you sure that all your music is in MP3 and not also other formats like WMA?
I recommend that you try transferring all files using Media Go as it will convert those files that are not supported by the phone.
When using Media Go it will place your music under Music\Artist\Album\File. If an album is split up into different folders this means that the ID3-tag in those files doesn't match. You can right click a file in Media Go, select Properties and change the information to correct this.

  • Extremly slow mp3 transfer to my muvo v

Hello! I got my "muvo v200" a vew days ago and since i installed it correctly (i think so (- it doesn?t work right. The transfer of the first 0 mp3s (each 3-4MBs) worked fine, but then it began to stop for about 30 seconds, goes on, stops, goes on, and so on... That means that tranferring mp3 to the muvo takes a extremly long time or it breaks up with the message "directory is too long" or something like "transfer-fault" (sorry, i don?t know the exact phrase in english). That problem occours if I transfer data to the muvo, to erase something from it or make a new folder there works right.
I also read about firmware- and driverupdates here, so I did that yesterday. The result was the same, transferring the first 0 songs after updating worked fine, then it stops and I got a little bit angry... (-:
Anybody out there with some help for me?
    thanx a lot
    andi

Transfer problems often come down to some issue with the PC. Have you tried the MuVo in another PC to see if it works there without issue? This isolates where the problem is.

  • N95 mp3 transfer...

I can transfer or watch videos and pictures from phone to laptop (via wireless - UPnP)
but I cannot listen or transfer my tracks (mp3)!
    In folder "tracks" the options:
    - show via home network
    - move/copy to/from home network
    - transfer via home network
are not shown like in folder for videos and pictures.
Is it not strange?! It is possible to view or transfer movies but not music!?!
So, we'll be able to get this fixed?
This feature it is available for ex. in N80, N93.. and is working properly, but is missing in N95!
I have been spoken to someone from technical support at NOKIA and they said that is an issue of SimpleCenter..
Ok, then I contacted SimpleCenter regarding this issue and their explanation was actually very clear, saying "It is strange that those features are missing in the N95's Music library. Unfortunately, it is a Nokia phone related problem and we have made them aware of this.", "...to our knowledge is something missing from the software on the phone."
Well, I would appreciate if NOKIA will try to solve the problem, through an software upgrade or somehow..
It is a feature I really wanted to use.

I've found this problem too but with the SimpleCenter software on my PC. It does not allow music tracks to be transferred from the PC to N95 nor does it play music tracks on my PC. This applies both to the version of the SimpleCenter software provide with the N95 and the latest version 4.1. Where the problem lies is anybody's guess - maybe there are settings I need to change - but it would be nice to get it sorted.

  • Possible mac to pc mp3 transfer?

Hi, I own an iMac. I have a very large CD/mp3 collection (about 35 gigs worth last count in iTunes). I am wanting to get a cheap PC laptop I can bring to work (we use PCs there). Is there any way to transfer my mp3s from my Mac to my new PC laptop? I've tried buying an external hardrive but it didn't work on my brother's PC laptop (an HP). I also tried using my Ipod as a disk drive by the PC woudn't recognize that either. I even tried burning a data disc with some mp3s and TV shows I downloaded from Itunes but on the PC they were choppy and didn't play right. Any suggestions?

One suggestion is to reformat your iPod as Windows format. You will have to plug it into a Windows machine running iTunes there and restore it on that computer. This will erase the entire iPod and reformat as windows format.
Then put it back on your Mac. Macs can read and write to Windows formatted iPods (but Windows can not read Mac formatted iPods). Resync your library to the now Windows formatted iPod. Now you are back to where you were when you started except the iPod is Windows formatted.
Now all you have to do is on the Mac, check the box to switch the iPod to Manually Manage mode, hit APPLY, say yes to the pop up and it will be switched to manual manage. Eject it and take it to work with you. All you need now is a computer running iTunes. If needed, install iTunes on a computer. Now plug the iPod into that computer. In iTunes you can now access the iPod directly and play anything directly off the iPod (via the iTunes interface). There you go.
When you get home, you can switch the iPod back to Auto update mode to sync back play counts, ratings, etc. and to apply any updates you made to your library. Just switch it back to manual mode before you go to work.
I do this all the time. My windows formatted iPod is synced to my eMac library but I often play it at work where I have installed iTunes on my computer and just have an empty library. I can play directly off my iPod and music files don't clog up my work computer.
    Good luck!

  • MP3 Transfer of Mu

    Hi Ya All,
A dear friend helped me with the startup (using Linux) of Creative Nomad 3 (the great grandfather of all those Ipods out there ), but now I cant transfer or even SEE the music when I connect it to my new (Sony) computer. Actually I ve tried before, a few years back on my old (2003) computer, so I dont know/think its a problem with the new computer.
The funny thing is that I can see the instructions manual for Linux that my friend put on the Nomad also, but NOT the music. ANy ideas
My boyfriend wants us to manually transfer every song (5000) via some programme he ll purchase, but that sounds like a bad idea taking a year in front of the computer.
FOund this on the web, Linux download, U think it ll help
    http://nomadii.sourceforge.net/main....ction=download
And in that case what should I chose
I wd be sooooooooooooooo grateful if someone out there could HELP. Have all my golden oldies in that little thing,

    Rich T!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! Amazed taht someone cares enough to reply so quickly, extremely sweet of U. Thnx a million!
I will try the link and hope it works. If not, U dont happen to know any computer genius/Nomad freak living in Amman, Jordan, would U (Or Sweden or Egypt )
FYI, this is a more detailed and accurate description of the problem than mine ( I was going to post it when I found yr reply):
The program we are using to try extract the music is just via the media player for the Nomad Jukebox, that I have installed on Windows XP via the Nomad driver - only problem is that the Nomad Juke-box does not appear to be recognized by the Nomad Media Player when it is plugged into the PC. The Nomad Jukebox is recognized by XP, though nothing comes up to indicate recognition on the installed Nomad media player. Only thing I can access is a pdf file with some Linux info - I cannot access any of the 8 gig full of music. i am at a loss for further directions to extract, so my only suggestion was to try recording all the music via a recording program - sound-forge.Though you seem to have an intimate knowledge of these Nomad Jukebox systems. For techno amatuers, like myself, I need some very basic instructions on how I mught get access to the music. Any basic instructions will be much appreciated,
Thanks again, Rich T! I had almost given up on getting all my music out of that lovebox. I will get U posted on my progress with yr link. If only one could post all everyday problems on the net and get this assistance!
    Best regards,

  • Zune alternative for MP3 transfer

I have lumia 710.  I have just downloaded the Zune PC program.  It is 100MB !!
With other phones, you just need to plug in the phone USB and the PC sees the phone as a drive.
Why do I need 100MB ?  I don't want 100MB.  I am not interested in what Zune can supposedly do for me - I already have other programs which do all I want done, without messing up my PC with a vast amount of software I do not want.
So, can anyone tell me if there is a simple piece of software - perhaps to install on the phone or on the PC - which wil allow the phone to be seen as a drive ?

it would be cool if nokia offered some kind of solution for this.  I'm on a mac and the Windows Phone Connector software (since Zune is not available for macs) seems to be half-baked.  It actually caused a kernel panic on my mac when my Lumia 900 was plugged in... which is a very rare thing (maybe once or twice a year occurance).
*edit:  I didnt mean to completely diss the software, I think it just needs a little more work or an alternative.  It does work properly and has cool features (music/podcast transfer from itunes/ ringtone transfer/ backups etc), it just has some problems... like backups are not complete and non-transferable to exchanged phones of the same model, there is no management of backups (which each take around 1gb of space... so they slowly eat up harddrive space... I have to manually go into ~/Application\ Support/Windows\ Phone\ 7\ Connector/  and delete), and I think computer to phone photo & video transfers fail on my computer because I do not have the latest ilife suite.  And in all fairness, it is possible the lumia 900 or some other software actually caused the kernel panic... but unlikely.

  • Allow users to download mp3

In other words, I want to write the word "download," and have
the mp3 transfer to the desktop (or wherever) of the clicker. I am
working on a site primarily for people using screen readers and
they generally do NOT use mice, so no right and left click. I've
poked around Dreamweaver Help and elsewhere but can't even figure
out what search terms to use.
    Thanks,
    Kari

Zip it. Link to it. Easy peasy.
If you want them to download the mp3 directly without playing
    it, just post
instructions to right click on the link and save it.
If you want this to all happen automatically, without using a
    zip file, you
would have to use server scripting to send the appropriate
    header to teh
    server.
This question is answered frequently here, so good search
    skills would have
    found it for you.

  • Zen Micro Firmware update - Now can't transfer W

I loaded my WMA files to my new ZEN MICRO 4Gb player... Then I signed up for Napster to Go...Said I need a firmware update...did the update...Had reload again...but, now all my transfers of WMA files fail! MP3 files work fine...Anyone have the issue before?

Ever since I upgraded the firmware for the micro, I have been unable to transfer WMAs via Media Player v0 or Creative MediaSource. The error I receive is "An error has occurred while transferring this file". This only occurs on WMAs. MP3s transfer fine.

  • Using V3xx as a modem

    Greetings,
I've got the V3xx RAZR and am trying in vain to get it to work as a modem. I've contacted Cingular and they have confirmed that my phone is set up correctly and that my Data plan supports the phone as modem. I've downloaded suggested modem scripts from Ross Barkman's GPRS Info Page http://www.taniwha.org.uk/gprs.html and an application called launch2net. Using both Internet Connect and the launch2net app I get up to authenticaing user (Internet Connect) or Negotiating Network (TCP/IP) (launch2net) then both disconnect.
So what am I doing wrong? As far as I know, I've set up everything correctly with the modem scripts (I've tried both). I've entered the username and password exactly as indicated - upper and lower case. I even called Motorola, but they gave me some story about the Mac not being supported.
Anyone have some detailed suggestions? I finally got it to Sync and I'm happy with that. Now I'm working on the modem and mp3 transfer problems. BTW, according to Cingular's liturature Mac OS is not supported, so I'm guessing you have to transfer the files directly to the microSD card while it's in a reader, then put it in the phone to get around that issue since you can't transfer to the phone's memory.
    Thanks,
    Mark

As they say RTFM. I never put in the APN of my network in the "Telephone Number" field using the scripts from Ross Barkman's page. Up and running successfully.

  • Having big problems with Creative Zen Micro Photo!! I need much urgent help!

Hi. I am having a big problem with my MP3 Creative Zen Micro Photo device at the computer. Here is the thing:Before I bought this I had the regular Zen Micro & having fun with it. I had no problems with that when I used the Media Explorer to transfer songs. So I bought the Zen Micro Photo & installed it my computer. As normal I used the Media Explorer to transfer songs & pictures. So I reinstalled Windows XP at my computer, and when I installed the CD that followed to transfer new songs, the Windows said that it's an unknown thing I have connected in the USB.So I installed Service Pack & 2. I have tried to install drivers from the cd but it seems that there are no drivers on the cd! The big problem is that when I connect the MP3 to the computer, it doesn't read it's a Zen Micro, it's just unknown! So the Zen Micro Photo Media Explorer program doesn't work & I can't transfer songs or picture on it! And it just happened after I re-installed Windows on my computer. The same thing happened on my brother's computer after he re-installed windows. And when I connect the MP3 to the USB, it says that it's not a USB 2.0, but .! And I am sure it is 2.0 because it has always been like that before I re-installed windows. Also the MP3 does not re-charge when I put it my computer! The battery is just the same, it tries to do it but it doesn't. So I am using my sisters computer to charge the MP3 & transfer songs. I have tried everything but I can't seem to understand what the problem is? I have never experienced something like this before, and I really hope you can help me with this! To be honest I think what I am missing is the driver. So can someone PLEASE provide me the link for the driver? I have downloaded all those 3 on www.creative.com, but they are none of them! Also that playforsure firmawre thingy does not work because it sais that I have to connect my MP3, and it is connected already! Please reply as quick as possible! Thanks a lot for you kind help!
I have also sent this mail to creative support! But please help me I have had this problem for almost 2 months now! =(Message Edited by anakwalajinn on 05-0-2006 08:47 PM

  • Creative Zen Micro Photo not work with

Hi,i formatted my hd 2 days ago.
I loose my cd with creative zen micro photo expoler.
When i connect my mp3 with usb cable appears an autoplay window of windows Xp that show me what i cand do with my mp3(Transfer Files with Windows media is the only option).
How I can do to use my mp3 with Creative Organizer?
Where i can find creative zen micro photo explorer?

Top of page on Creative banner, click Support-> Downloads-> MP3 Players-> Zen-> Zen MicroPhoto, chose your language and Operating System and select the software that you need.
Be sure to read and follow the instructions on the Show Details... pop-u
    ps.
Looks like Zen MicroPhoto Media Explorer isn't posted any more, so Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 (52.2 MB) would probably be your best bet.
I have had no luck getting MediaSource 5.x to work with my computers and I've tried very hard.

  • How can I transfer mp3's to my iPad using an SD card?

    Here's the deal:
I am a reporter and I use a portable audio recorder to record material. I would like to import the recordings on my iPad via SD card, edit them (I only need to splice/join/trim), and e-mail them out. This is a very basic function for any mac, pc, or even a netbook, but I am yet to find a way to do this on the iPad, which is much more portable then my macbook.
I have read about people attempting to use the iPad camera connection kit to import mp3's, but this doesn't work. I don't need to open them in the native "music" app with all of my music from iTunes, I just need to edit them.
So I have a few questions:
    1. How can I import recordings with the iPad via SD or USB?
    2. Does anyone know of any simple, reliable audio editing apps that can join, splice, and trim recordings? Doesn't have to be fancy.
    3. Pretend I solve problems 1 and 2. How would I then e-mail them out or throw them in a dropbox to deal with them later?
Again, this is a very simple task for OSX or Windows, but I would much rather carry an iPad around then a Macbook.

The first thing you need to do is find the app of your choice at the app store (I'm not familiar with the type you need).  Everything depends on the app - can it import mp3 from Dropbox?  Can it import from iTunes (this should be possible).  Once a file resides with an app, the only way to email the data is if the app supports that.  You can't begin with the mail app and expect to somehow attach the mp3 file from there, it has to start with the app that stores the file.
So I would suggest you begin looking for appropriate apps.  For each, read about its import features and whether it can email out.
And yes, a mac can easily do this.  The problem with iOS is that each app is sandboxed, it cannot reach out to other apps and copy files from them.  In shortl, iOS is a different kind of operating system than OSX.
(Having reread your post, the real trick is getting the mp3 from your recorder to some other location, like Dropbox or iTunes.  I don't know what features your recorder has.  I know of no way to transfer the mp3 from SD to an iPad directly.

  • How do I transfer mp3 files from my Win XP desktop to my ipad2 ?

I installed Itunes on my Windows XP Pro desktop system. I eventually created two separate folders on itunes
    to organize mp3 files.
But I'll be dammed if I can get those mp3s on itunes to transfer to the iPad2. I have turned on match under the
    store tab, in Itunes.
I have looked for something to activate it on the ipad. The iPad2 lists recent purchases.
(These voice mp3s are not music)  It lists all songs. It has a tab which says download all songs.
    It does nothing.
There is a tab for 'not on this iPad', it doesn't do anything.
There is a tab for the cloud. It doesn't do anything.
I have wasted 1 1/2 hrs getting nowhere. Not impressed, Apple.
When I plugged in the USB cable to the desktop, I did see my photos and videos, period, nothing more.

You can use 3rd party apps like Music Download.

  • How do I transfer MP3 files from my PC to iPhone

Although I've read many items concerning this issue I still can NOT understand how to transfer some of my MP3 files to my iPhone.  When I attempt to transfer or sync song from my iTunes it states it will erase all of the other songs I have on there.  I did do this once when I first got the phone but have totally forgotten how I did it.
I do not want my entire Library transferred to my phone, just certain songs that are on my PC.  I thought it had been a pretty easy task.
Can someone give me the steps for doing this?
    Thanks.

Iphone is only meant to be sync to one itunes media library.  That is why you're seeing the message about erasing all the songs.  Did you sync those other song from a different itunes library?
