MP3 won't export cycle region

I am trying to export some voiceovers as MP3, but it keeps exporting the entire timeline instead of just the cropped area (cycle region).
If I export as WAV or AIF, the export is restricted to the cycle region, which I want. So for now I have to export as AIF and convert to MP3.
Is this a bug or am I missing something?

The file system on the flash drive may be imposing a file size limit.
Select the stick in the Finder and use the command "File > Get Info  ⌘I" ). That will show you the file fystem in the "general" brick of the Info panel.

  • Export as mp3 ignores the cycle region

When I try to export a portion of the multitrack file based on the cycle region as an mp3 file, it ignores the region and exports to the end, even though only the short clip is soloed. After export, it turns off cycle region. When I export as aiff, it honors the cycle region? Any thoughts? Anyone else experience this?
    Weird. . .

Hi - Im just wondering did you solve this issue? I am trying to export a selection of video as a podcast using the i/o poitns of cycle. When I export, it exports the whole video file and not the selection. Any ideas?

  • Exporting with cycle region

Hi, i am trying to export a song that i have shortened and had fade out. I used the cycle region so the yellow extends just past the part i want. When i export it, it doesn't work. Whenever, the cycle region is on 13 seconds i get about 26 seconds of track and when i set it to 70 seconds its about 2:26 long. Why is this? i have tried everything and am getting very frustrated with it.

Are you exporting as AIFF or AAC? (i.e., do you have a Podcast Track enabled or not?) If you ditch the Podcast track (I take it that you don't need it) and export as AIFF, it should work fine.

  • Export multiple regions with effect

    Hi guys,
I have some hundreds of regions of a vocal recording. I'd like to apply the same amount of reverb and compression to all these regions and export them all at once (mp3).
What I did: all regions in consecutive order on one audio track with insert effects.
I tried the export feature but it allows to export one region at a time even when I select all regions. This seems to be work for a week....
I'd also like to be able to define an additional length for the newly created regions, so the reverb would not be cut off.
When I export from the audio bin it doesn't include the effects.
I also tried creating markers from the original regions, bounce the whole track and then...? Is there a way to cut the bounced filed corresponding to all these markers?
    Thanks for help,
    Eddie

    How many 100's?
Reimporting the regions will give you the option to put them on seperate tracks....you can do 50 or 100 at a time... Logic will put them on seperate tracks for you... don't import from scratch or Logic might have to redraw the overviews
Make a channel strip of the desired pluggins...
Adding a channel strip to 100 tracks takes about 15 minutes...depending upon which pluggins you are using, you might run out of system resources
then export all tracks as audio
I'm thinking 300 audio files with effects could be created in about maybe 3 hours...unless they are over 1 minute each, or you have system resource issues
Of course, I have to add every 15 minutes checking the forum, so make this at least an 8 hour job!

  • Won't export!

My movies on Imovie HD won't export fully. They export the first 20ish seconds then the frame freezes but the audio keeps going :S
what's going on and how to I fix it?
    thanks

    Hi
    Two first thoughts:
    • The free space on Your internal hard disk - less than 10Gb - try make it 25Gb or more
    • What material did You feed iMovie ?
    • streamingDV from a miniDV tape Camera. Thats what it's intended to be feed.
. avi, .wmv, .mp4 etc. Gives all kinds of problems and needs to be converted to
    streamingDV to behave OK
    • Audio is the same:
    • from miniDV Camera or .aiff (eg CD disc)
.mp3, direktly from iTunes etc. Problematic and most often needs to be converted to .aiff

  • Garageband won't export full song

I share song with iTunes, but when I play the song back in iTunes, the last 4-5 seconds aren't there. When I play the song back in Garageband the full song is there. I don't understand the difference. Please help.

The problem is that I have recorded 51 seconds of guitar and then thought wow that riff sounds good and so I looped it to 2 minutes in length.
Are you sure that not a single region is highlighted in the track area, when you are exporting?
All regions should have a dark color. Click in the track area below all tracks to seselect all regions.
When I am sharing to iTunes and really no region is selected, and the Cycle region off, GarageBand will export the song up the the end-of-song marker.

  • 'cycle region' wont work properly/erases previously rec. notes

i wasnt aware of this, but i did it as usual, as the yellow cycle is always "on"
    in my songs.
so, whenever i press record and record some notes with my apple keyboard,
Gb3 will erase the previously recorded notes when i play rec. a second time or third.. and so on.
i think i make a simple mistake, yes?
    i cant figure out which...

ah. i guessed sth. like that. thats a pitty.
is that a GB3 limitation, is this maybe possible in
    Logic express?
    It's a GB(any version) limitation). I don't know about Le
Your guess at a workaround is close to correct. Once you've created all the tracks you want, select all the regions and use the Join menuItem to consolidate them into a single track.

  • Podcast won't export from Garageband to iWeb

    Hi all
Help appreciated with this. I do a two hour music podcast (www.whatyouwantradio.com also available at http://soundcloud.com/whatyouwant-radio) which is created in Garageband and then exported to iWeb for uploading to my website. I've been running this, with few problems, since April 2009.
Recently the garageband podcast won't export to iWeb. It's random, and I seem to have been able to bypass it by changing the filename slightly, or adjusting the quality at which it is exported (I like to export at 320mps for best quality - big files but no complaints from the 100 or so listeners. Could be more - who knows as I can't get stats from iTunes. But I digress). However, the most recent podcast, which is already available on Soundcloud, just won't export. It goes through the motions (mixdown etc.) but nothing appears on iWeb on the other side. No error message, nothing. I know that memory has also been an issue in the past but right now there is plenty to spare (5.37GB at last glance).
I'd really be grateful for some help on this, I'm at a bit of a loss - no error message, no clue. As I say, this podcast has been going for nearly three years and it's only recently I've had this problem.
    Cheers,

Just a further note on this. I tried a couple more times yesterday to export the file. Starting out with over 5GB of memory, by the time I had tried twice this had gone down by a couple of GB. Still no export. This morning I noticed some new files in the trash that were from around the time of the failed exporting:
Note sure if you can see that, but I'm guessing the files are something to do with the failed export? Does anyone have any thoughts? Either way, this problem is still annoying the **** out of me...

  • OMF won't export out of final cut pro.

Exporting a 93min 1920x1080 HD timeline to OMF
5 second handles tried 2 second handles as well.
OMF won't export out of final cut pro. Get error message there is a 2 gb limit.
    Final cut 6.0.6
Have deadline. Didn't see it on any forum. Help!! Thanks!!

Seems like a weird thing to not be able to do since it's called final cut PRO...
Bagging on Final Cut Pro for OMF? HA! OMF has been around LONG BEFORE FCP was introduced. It isn't an FCP issue...OMF technology is VERY old. Over 20 years I believe. I used it on Avid...and it always had a 20GB limit.
You cannot deliver 1 track via OMF. You can ask the audio person. I know that Avid now allows you to export an AAF...but FCP doesn't do AAF. For embedded audio I think that OMF is the only way. SO you have to work within the limitations of that format.

  • New Quicktime 7.6.6 (1671) won't export WAV files

HELP! - New Quicktime 7.6.6 (1671) won't export WAV files. I just did the automatic upgrade to the new version of Quicktime and now I can't export WAV files from a CAF file. The original .CAF file plays perfectly but when I attempt to export it the exported file is corrupted and won't play. I have another computer with the previous version of Quicktime and it exports the same file flawlessly. Anyone know what's going on with the new version? THANKS!

+Error writing to the file: C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesMiniPlayer.Resources\nb.lproj\iTunesMiniPlayerLocalized.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory.+
More often than not, that sort of message indicates file damage rather than a privileges issue on the file.
If you've got Windows XP, try doing a chkdsk over your C drive, as per:
How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
If you've got Vista, try the following procedure. Go "Start > Computer". Right-click on "Local Disk C:" and select "properties". Click the "Tools" tab. Click the "Check now" button in the "Error correction" section.
Do the disk checks find/repair any damage? If so, does an install go through properly afterwards?

  • FCP won't export M2V

I am running FCP Studio and trying to export an m2v. I recently upgraded my G5 and basically put my old hard drives right into the new G5 box. Since I did that, FCP asked for a serial number again, and I entered it. OK. Now I am trying to export the Mpeg2 and it says it can't export until DVD studio Pro is serialized - but then I run DVD studio pro and it IS serialized and registered. Restart did not fix it. FCP just can't seem to tell that DVD studio pro is already serialized and won't export. Should I trash my preferences? FCP or DVD studio pro or both? Any suggestions?

    FYI....
Trying to uninstall DVD Pro and then re-installing it will not work! I ran through this problem when I upgraded to FCP Studio. The issue lies between DVD Pro and QT7, it is a bug that apple is currently trying to resolve.
I spent numerous hours on the phone with apple to get this issue resolved. The best work around at the moment is going through Compressor and making a M2V. Compressor will retain your chapter markers from FCP no worries.
The only issue is time, it takes longer using compressor but the quality is 100x better because you have more control of the VBP.
    Good Luck

  • Cropped song settings won't export to slideshow

For some reason, my start/stop time settings for individual songs in itunes won't export to an iphoto slideshow. Is there another way to do this?

    David,
Your right. Changes made to the stop and start time of songs in iTunes don't seem to have any effect in iPhoto.
I suppose one work around would be to first burn the music for your slide show to a music CD and then reimport the tracks.
You could also use iMovie, GarageBand or a third party app like Sound Studio to actually edit the tracks (probably best to edit copies of the tracks) and then reimport the edited tracks back into iTunes.
Kind of a hassle. I'll continue to think a bout a more elegant solution.

  • Multi-suggestions/questions/problem: (1)garageBand: working with cycle regions; (2) ToS note;  (3) apple user accounts

    (1) GarageBand:  "Working with Cycle Regions"
Preamble:  Cycle regions are very nice.  Thank you for recycling the concept.  That'd probably be great (unless you argue it'd be 'enabling') to include libraries of scripts that work with cycle regions  ('such as' note 1).  Thank you for cycle regions in GarageBand.
"'such as' note 1"   if C[i] is a cycle region, C[1] is the first take, C[2] the second take...
The ability to select/program different values of i for C[i] emplacements from a controller box, that could accomodate basic scripts that select i values from libraries, or generate them by simple formulas, or generate them by taking values from an "input text document" that could be easy output from basic custom software.
Issue:  Basic improvements to cycle region management.  Currently, if I want to know what music is in C[i], I have to set the i value from a drop down menu by clicking on the region.  If I want to search for that passage, I have to maximially do that n many times (n = the number of cycles per cycle region).  One faster way to search would be to allow pasting of sequential +1 iteration-wise cuts from that cycle region, and fast forwarding through that, or whatever.  Another way, is that while recording, some visual notification could be present, telling me which take # is being recorded.  (Maybe die-hard musicians used to counting don't worry about it.)
    (2) Terms of Service  Issue
An "email Terms of Service" button would be nice.
Also, a "readers digest" cliff notes version of practical center points would be nice.  Such could come with disclaimers that the notes don't necessarily reflect views of apple, although could be popularized "3rd party watchdog sides" that rate applicability of such disclaimers.
    (3) Apple User Account
Some third party algorithm generated this user name.  I never wrote that in myself.  What is that about?  Is my account security in some crisis?
    Thanks!

Please reply and let me know i if this was helpful or I am missing something. this worked for me and it has been about a week and my backups are still running.

  • One font won't export

Hi, all. Sorry if this is basic--I'm just a simple artist-designer, and am less skilled at software management and presets.
I just reinstalled my ID CS4 on a new-to-me machine running OSx Mountain Lion. For an unknown reason, the software now won't export the Helvetica Neue Regular font (all other fonts in the typeface are FINE.) 'Regular' exports as lines of boxes. HNeue has been my go-to for many years, and I'd rather not reformat all of my old stuff. Thoughts?
HNeue Regular shows up in fontbook, and I already tried 'restore system fonts.' Also set "Subset all Fonts" to 0%. I have no idea what this means, but the internet told me to do it.
Thanks for your ideas. This is really messing me up.
    Emily

Saw this post and thought it can be easily fixed but I haven't worked on a Mac for about 10 years. I'm sure there's someone that can help.
The only thing I would suggest trying is disabling it in your Font Management and copying the font to your system Fonts folder.
