Mp3 wont play

I imported my songs as MP3's and converted my existing library to MP3 and made a new play list and went into preferences clicked on MP3 and burned a CD-R with 150 MP3's but it wont play in my new system... what am i doing wrong?

If by new system you mean a car or other CD system, there are a couple of things you need to look out for:
First, many CD players still don't support mp3 files, only standard old fashioned Audio CDs. The difference is about tenfold, about 15 tracks vs about 150.
Second, even if the system does, there's no real standard, and the files may have to be in a specific disc structure for your particular system. By default, mp3 CDs in iTunes will be set into folders, etc, they may need to all be in the root. Please see this: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60931

  • Mp3 wont'play on 6111 - file format not supported

    hi
i've just uploaded an mp3 file in the gallery of my 6111 phone.
i wanted to use it as ringtone, but when i try to open it, it complains "file format not supported".
the manual says my phone can play mp3 and aac, so what kind of mp3 will it play? i searched through the manual and the internet but i found nothing.
the file i've uploaded is an "ordinary" mp3, size 4,3 MB, bit-rate 192 kbps, stereo, 44,100 kHz and tag Id3 v2.4
maybe the problem could be the bit-rate?or id3 tag?
    anyone knows more about it?
    thanks everyone

    Hi
I recommend formatting the USB memory stick and other devices connected to the TV using the option provided in the TV settings.
Usually such recorded files can be played only on the TV.
Also take a look to user manual page 70.
    http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/file/product/manual/5187/55VL900A.pdf
There is a list of supported file formats.
According to the Toshiba User manual following formats are supported:
    Avi, mpeg-2 PS, MPEG-2TS, MPEG-2 VOB, mov, mp4, asf

  • Mp3 wont play but radio works Muvo N200 51

My Creative MuVo Micro N200 52MB worked fine for /2 a year and then all of a sudden, only radio works and mp3's work some of thge time. This is also the same playlist that worked fine about 2 weeks ago. I downloaded new firmnware and drivers and I still have the problem. Anyone come across this before or know of what it could be? Its kinda baffling. I loved the player before this happened. Now it is just a tiny FM-only radio for me. Thanks.

Could it possibly be Copy Protection on the Mp3 file itself thats preventing the player from playing the music?
My V200 (Its just like the N200 except its designed like the MuVo TX FM with the removeable battery pack) Has never been able to play Copy protected Mp3's or Wma's... ever, Even though the firmware updates claim to allow it to play those types of files...
Are you using music that you downloaded from one of the many online stores that copy protect their music?
Try ripping a CD to the hard dri've and then transfer it to the player and try that out...

  • ITunes MP3 CD wont play in MP3 enabled stereo

    Hi All
I have been searching around these forums and this is driving me round the bend. I burn an iTunes MP3 CD and it wont play in my car stereo. The discs load but just show up as a one track CD that continuously plays but with no sound.
My car is not old and it can play MP3 CD's. I have tried all the recommendations - adding to a playlist and setting the playlist order, creating cd's in the root directory, creating cds with tracks in folders and also using the Finder to burn the files to disc - nothing.
I really want to do this as my car has no aux input and FM transmitters are rubbish quality.
    Any ideas?

Could be the CD burner. Has it been checked?

  • Bought 3 song from the itunes store and they wont play

i bought  3 song and put them in my mp3 player 2 wont play 1 sound just like static i have other song form itunes in that player and they play fine? 1 song wont even play on my computer the i payed for them their in my list but wont play what gives!

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entries, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

  • I have copied over my music file to a new computer and the music shows on itunes but wont play. When I track where the song is located it is reading the wrong information. How do I change this as Edit Preferences has the right location

I have copied over my music files to a new computer and the music shows on itunes but wont play. When I track where the song is located it is reading the wrong information. How do I change this as Edit>Preferences has the right location?

Select one of the tracks with a broken link, press ctrl-i to Get Info. Say No when iTunes asks if you would like to locate the track, then look at the Summary tab for the location expects to find the file in.
Now try to locate the file in question. The two locations should give a clue as to what to do next.
Here is an example with a file I've deliberately moved from the new layout to the old pre-iTunes 9 layout.
This means iTunes is expecting to find the file at:
    D:\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\a-ha\Take On Me\01 Take On Me.mp3
but it isn't there because I've moved it to:
    D:\iTunes\iTunes Media\a-ha\Take On Me\01 Take On Me.mp3
which is where it would have lived back in iTunes 8 (though the media folder would have been called iTunes Music back then as well).
If you can provide the expected and actual locations of a broken track I should be able to suggest the easiest way to resolve things.

  • Itunes wont play some of my songs...and it used to!

I had to reinstall windows ... as i have done several times in the past.. and when i added my music folder, which is on an external HD, over 500 songs wont add to the library. they will play in QT and WMP but not in itunes. when clicked itunes will open but then nothing...doesnt even show the song in the list.
Here is an example of a song that will not play, show up, or anything:
    21 guns - Greenday
    mp3 audio
    8.66 MB
    Protected - NO
    Duration - 0:06:12
    bit rate - 224kbps
    channels - 2(stereo)
    audio sample rate - 44kHz
i thought maybe something happened to all the songs around the same date but thats a no go. i have advanced mp3 catalog pro to organize my music and it has id3 editor v.2 but i use that for ALL my music not just these songs that now wont play. i tried removing the tag completely and recreating it and that also did not work. i have unintalled all itunes, apple, and quicktime applications and reinstalled ...still nothing. what now?

    iamoph wrote:

If you don't mind a little brute force, convert them to WAV and then back to MP3:
Use a 3rd party tool such as Switch to convert them to WAV. The conversion to WAV will wipe out every peculiarity of tags, etc (WAV is essentially just pure PCM-encoded music). Put the WAV into your iTunes library, make sure it plays, and then use iTunes to convert it to MP3.

  • Wont play an audiobook....

So, I tried putting the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood prince audiobook on my ipod.... and it won't play. It works fine for the other audiobooks and my songs, but wont play for HP6....... The book works fine on my computer..... But, so yeah. When I do turn on my ipod with HP6 on it, the green light comes on, I press play and then it just stops working....

What is the file format of the audiobook? Shuffles will play only certain file types, where computers can play many more types of audio files.
The Shuffle supports these types of audio files (includes formats for audiobooks and podcasts):
    AAC (M4A, M4B, M4P) (up to 320 kbps)
    MP3 (up to 320 kbps)
    MP3 Variable Bit Rate (VBR)
    WAV
    AAA (audible.com spoken word, formats 2, 3, and 4)
    AIFF
If the audiobook's files are a different format than those listed, they will NOT play on a Shuffle.
If this is the case, you can probably convert them on your computer into one of the Shuffle-compatible formats, then load them onto the iPod.

  • Music Wont Play

About 5 days ago for no apparent reason at all, about 7000 songs which i have collected over a number of years has just decided that it wont play in ITUNES or in any other of my media players. When you click on Play over a song nothing happens. The play icon doesnt even come up on the screen.
Steps I have taken so far are:
1 - Remove all tracks from ITUNES and then re-add the folder where all the songs are. This has obviously removed all songs, but when I have re-added the folder , it has added about 650 tracks back on to the playlist. These 650 tracks will play. This leaves approx 6400 tracks that it wont play.
By the way all the songs on my PC are MP3 type and I have had no problem playing any of them until last week.
2 - I have re-installed ITUNES and reinstalled Quicktime and that has not worked.
3 - All of my songs are backed up on to a External Hard Drive. I have tried to restore the songs and also play them directly from the external hard drive. I get the same problem when I do this.
4 - I have enabled and allowed all permissions for the account that I am running the PC from.
I am guessing there must be some settnig or Registry Key that is blocking me playing the tracks from the PC. I have also tried to launch the songs in Media Player and Sonic stage but thsi has not played either.
All the tracks are in the folder structure as they were before so I know they are there. I just need to somehow unlock them.......
If anyone has any ideas, I would be very grateful as I dont want to lose my entire music collection.
Also I cannot find anyweher on here that is a Support number or email address for Apple as this is an ITUNES issue and they should be resolving it for me!!!!
    Thanks

  • New Shuffle wont play after downloading Songs from Rhapsody

I just bought the 2nd gen. shuffle and after loading songs from rhapsody, it show them on the IPOD list but the ipod wont play. It blinks green-orange-green- orange and then nothing. I tried reseting it. Any ideas?

    "Will Rhapsody work with iPod?
iPods are not compatible with the Rhapsody To Go subscription service. You may, however, use the iPod to play tracks purchased on Rhapsody. Or view the MP3 players compatible with Rhapsody To Go."
That is from their website, even though countless posts on these forums have said their files are not compatible. So who knows. If I couldn't get my music from rhapsody on my iPod, I personally woudn't be too surprised, it's protected music, and it's not meant for iTunes it's meant for Real player. It looks like it depends on if your music was subscription or not. You might also read this.

I hope you figure out how to get it on your iPod though.

  • Songs wont play fully

few of my songs on ipod wont play fully they play for few seconds and then next song is selected to play. why is that?

    Hi J.E.L.,
No one knows for sure what causes this but there are some workarounds...Try #3 first as it is the easiest.
#1 Delete those songs from itunes and re-rip them from the CD into itunes and sync your ipod.
#2 Convert those songs into another format. Adjust your settings however you wish in Itunes > Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Importing. Choose whatever format and settings you like then, Right-Click on the song(s) and "Convert Selection To XXX", where XXX is the format you've selected. Sync and try it.
NOTE: Doing this method degrades the sound quality of the file(s) as you're essentially making a copy of a copy. Whether it is acceptable to your ears or not is up to them.
#3 This workaround has helped some. If they're unprotected MP3 files then, using itunes, strip them of their ID3 Tags. Right Click on the song(s), click "Convert ID3 Tags", click "None". Then, do it all over again only this time, choose a version, usually v2.3. Sync and try it.
NOTE: Stripping them of their ID3 Tags will delete the artwork and lyrics of the associated songs, but they are easily replaceable.

  • HELP! iphone media player wont play files in a .htaccess protected folder.

I installed a personal webserver, Apache and configured it to provide access to my .mp3 files. Through Safari on the iphone I can connect to my webserver and see all of my .mp3 files. If I click on one, it fires up the music/media player.. then says "movie cannot be played". NOW, if I remove any .htaccess protections from the folder or server, then it works perfectly fine and will play my files. With the .htaccess set it does indeed ask me for a login/password,which I enter, but it STILL wont play the file. This stinks. Any smart web people out there know how I can use my own web server to access my files while protection them from other people browsing my IP???? Thanks in advance.

I'm not using secure access (https). I started with the most basic configuration, standard http: on port 80, etc. The configuration works perfectly fine when tested on my home PC. The problem seems to be in Safari on the iphone it prompts me for a login, and accepts it.. then it fires up the media/movie player and I'm guessing it's not passing the authentication/credentials/whatever to the movie player. When the media tries to play, it notes it's an access controlled file and just quits out. The movie player doesnt seem to allow asking of login/password info. Thoughts??
