Mp3Gain volume question

I want all my songs in itunes to be loud and all the same volume without any clipping. I put all my songs on Mp3Gain then select apply max no clip gain for each file. Then go to itunes and select all the songs and increase the volume. Would that make all the songs about the same volume and how high should i raise the volume in itunes to make the volume all the same and loud after apply max no clip gain for each file. Should the bitrate for each song be the same and what type or does it matter when getting the songs louder with no clipping. Some songs are in aac format and mp3 format and different kbps. When i apply max no clip gain for each file i get different db for every song from 98.0 to 89.0 then i go to itunes raise to volume of every song to about 90% but some still sound lower then other what should i do to make them all the same volume without clipping or is clipping really noticable I have no clue what to do to make all my songs really loud
I also tried changing the normal volume target in mp3gain higher to about 98.0db it makes all the songs louder but get clipping in almost every song.
So what is the best method to use to make all my songs louder in itunes?

should sound check be on or off in itunes and sould sound check be on or off on iphone 4

  • N73 ME volume question

HI. I have some question about volume on my N73 Me. May i change the interval of volume-stepping(loud stepping) in Music Player from 10%(10%,20%,30...90%,100%) to 5%(5%,10%,15%...95%,100%). Its very important for me. Thank you.
    Jenia

you can try using another music player like lcg music player or kdplayer. lcg player has a 10 band equalizer and i think the volume adjusts by 5% instead of 10%. i had experience with kdplayer on my 6233 and the volume was much louder than the default player. these are options you have or you can search via google for other alternatives. the choice is yours..

  • Hard Drive Volumes Question:

So I got the files safely off of the Case Sensitive volumes... and then I erased the volumes so I could reformat them as not-case sensitive.
I used an OS X install DVD's "Restore" feature to accomplish this.
And now 9.2.2 won't load. =[ A diskette with a Question Mark Pops up instead. =[
Could it be that 9.2.2 is unable to load 16 hard drive volumes??
    (I know, I am dumb) .....
I connected my old hard drive and I am using that. I am patiently waiting for a router to be delivered in the mail, and then I can set up as many computers as I'd like..... =]

    Hi, In-Correct -
That info is good, but does not help too much.
Which of those two machines are you referring to re the issue expressed in this thread?
Since you mention a PCI card it is probably the Power Mac. If so, which model is it? A 350MHz model can be a G3 (B&W) or a G4 (AGP Graphics) model (and maybe a G4 (PCI Graphics) model).
Re the missing System Folder, you refer to 'volume' rather than 'drive'. If the volume you backed the OS(s) up to was another partition of the same drive which contained the volume you were reformatting, it is possible you inadvertantly reformatted (and hence erased) the entire drive rather than just a partition of it.
Again, having both drives connected, hence active, at the same time should be no problem - particularly if the 120GB drive is using a different controller, which the PCI card provides. All PowerMac machines are designed to handle multiple drives and volumes without conflict. The presence of an additional drive can not cause the erasure of another.
On the G4 (DA) model I'm using at the moment I have two internal drives, one partitioned into 4 volumes and the other partitioned into 5 volumes; those 9 volumes plus an external firewire drive give me a net of 10 volumes (in efferct 10 drives), most of which have OS's on them, all of which mount with every boot regardless of which volume and OS I choose for booting.

  • Ipod Nano volume question

    Hi,
I use my nano as a music source on my motorcycle connected to an Autocom intercom. I have found it to be the best think yet for non skip music.
As I normally wear ear plugs I have always had a problem getting enough volume from other sources. However, with the nano I realise that you can import from itunes with a volume level adjustable up to +100%. I have found that at this import level I only need the volume turned up to about 80% on the nano when on the bike. However, even with AAC tracks I can hear some minor sound distortion.
My question is would I benefit copying from itunes to the nano at, say +75%, and then have to use more volume on the nano or remain with +100% and use less volume on the nano?
Or another way of asking is will I get better quality from increasing the volume from an import from itunes at a lower volume or increasing the volume on the nano to max?
    Hope that makes sense!
    Thanks,
    Mark

I encountered this problem about a week into using it. I restored my iPod to fix the problem.
Everything was fine for me for about a week, but then at the start of one run, the Nike+ voice tried to say two sentences to me at the same time. I think it was the "Walk around to activate your sensor..." and whatever instruction happens next at the same time. From this point on, all of my songs and Podcasts were less than half the original volume, but the Nike+ voice was full volume. This basically ruined the rest of my workout.
I suggest trying to reset your iPod to see if this fixes the problem, and if not, then do a restore to your iPod.
The only bad thing about doing a restore is then your iPod loses all of its workout history, so from that point on your history is only on the Nike+ web site. Too bad iTunes doesn't transfer the workout history back to the iPod...
    Good luck,

  • Zeroing out drives/volumes question in Oracle

I was in a job interview and was thrown a question.
What Oracle command is used to "zeroing out drives", its a db command that works on all versions of Oracle?
I was baffled, so first the term "zeroing out drives" for me has always meant when partitioning drives or creating
volumes especially ones that have been used in the past, one has to clean the existing partition table header and
as well as the rest of the drive to ensure that new data will not be corrupted. For instance in UNIX one can use
the dd command to erase or clean the drive from any old partitions or data. There are other methods of doing this
as well and I am using the terms loosely about... however I know of no command from Oracle that allows me to
"zero a drive" from the database that works across all OS versions of Oracle . I know
that 11GR2 is a completely new GRID infrastructure combining the cluster services and ASM into the directory structure
that combines the clustering services with the ASM and now one can use an ASM volume/filesystem as the voting drive.
To my knowledge a when using a SAN one still has to on the OS level issue a volume manager command or set of
commands to "zero out a drive" ( dd is usually the generic UNIX command employed ) to accomplish this.
Is there a database level command that allows one to "zero out drives" that is universal across all OS versions of
Oracle 10/11G and if so what is it or is the person who asked this question "confused"?

I didn't think so, maybe he meant the gui dbca selecting candidate drives for ASM then again
most of my friends that have been in the business stated this person must be "confused".
Thank you for answering the question.

  • Polycom VVX Volume Question

    2 questions-
1- On the polycom vvx series is there a way to adjust the default volume levels of the Default Group Page and the PPT  Default Channel?
2- Is there a way to adjust the tone of the audio?
    Thanks

You con't do it on the device it self. But, you can do it from the Provisioning server. The config file "Device.cfg" can be configured the way that you want and pushed to all the devices.

  • Enter triplet values in piano roll... and volume question

How can I get the piano roll grid view to temporarily change to subdivisions of 3 per per beat (instead of 4) in a 4/4 piece so I can align triplets?
Also, how do I change the volume of a single note in the piano roll editor?
    TIA

    1. In the transport bar, where you see the time signature (default 4/4), just below that is the beat subdivision. You can click on it and drag up or down to change the value. A value of 12 will subdivide a beat into thirds.
    2. You can't really change the volume of a note, per se, since volume is a MIDI parameter that doesn't apply to single notes, but rather as continuous data. You can, however, change the velocity of notes, which will affect the volume of the note if the note's velocity is programmed for volume change. To do this, choose the Velocity tool (escape, then 9) and click the note and drag up or down.

  • Nano 4G - Sleep function and volume question

    Hey all,
i'm owning my first ipod right now and i'm kinda disappointed...mainly concerning two things..I hope someone more experienced with a ipod can assist me...
    1. problem: sleep function @ ipod 4G..is there one? i didn't find anything to auto-shut-off the decive after eg. XX minutes...
    2. problem: volume: even when I decrease the volume to the minimum, it's still too loud..I would like the volume to be lower to listen eg. to the ipod when falling asleep..is a bigger decrease of the volume possible?
    best rgds,
    max

to clarify it: i mean a SLEEP TIMER, the function which should switch off the ipod after a specified time period...it's impossible that the ipod 4g doensn't offer that STANDARD feature...

  • "Determining Audio Volume" question

    Hello,
While fooling around on iTunes, I somehow changed a setting so that the rectangular window at the top of the screen, which normally shows the song being played, the status of syncing, etc., now shows the message, "Determining Audio Volume" and appears to be running through all the songs on my Mac. I can click the "X" to the right of the window and that stops the activity for the time being, but the next time I open iTunes, it starts all over. I can't figure out how to stop this activity.
    Any suggestions?

Let it finish? How many years should I wait? iTunes is totally disabled by this "feature". If I stop the Determining, the program freezes and I have to force quit. If I try to select a song while it's doing this, the same. I have un-installed and re-installed and gone back to prior versions and used previous libraries and yada yada ad nauseum. Why is support so poor? My impression is that this application just ties itself in knots that cannot be untangled. I have no videos, no podcasts, no state-of-the-art stuff, but I do a lot of live recording (mp3s and WAV files) and want to archive and manage it in iTunes (what alternative do I have?), and it seems utterly deficient for that task. Whenever I try to play anything on the computer, the audio defaults to iTunes, and that's the end of that. I've tried Audacity, but it's slow and cumbersome and doesn't burn audio cds.
Why is iTunes so problematic, and why do we have to wade through thousands of discussions with helpful titles like "help" to look for solutions? I've had Macs since 1984, and this is just sad.

  • Falling asleep and waking up to iPhone (alarm volume question)

I would like to both fall asleep and wake up to music on my iPhone. I know hot to do sleep the iPhone after a certain amount of time using the timer, but I like the volume way down so I can barely hear the music. The problem is that for my alarm in the morning, I need the music very loud. Is there some way to have the music soft when I am falling asleep and automatically get louder for my alarm in the morning? I'm not too hopeful on this, but maybe someone can help.
    Thanks,
    Colin

I believe your alarm tone volume is the same as your ringtone volume and has nothing to do with your music volume. You are not presently able to wake up to music.

  • Volumes Question ?

Can someone explain to me how the volumes work on my G5. When i use OmniSweeper to size my drives i notice under /volumes i get a list of volumes. They are:
    G5 (main drive)
    Media (media drive)
    G5:Media (backup external for G5/Media)
Powerbook (backup external partition for Powerbook notebook)
    G5:Media1 ?
Why do i always get a copy of the G5:Media1 ? I also notice in my Carbon Copy Cloner there is a drive called G5:Media 1. When i clone from G5 to G5:Media 1 i always get the right info on the G5:Media external drive.
For some reason when i use Carbon Copy Cloner and i back up G5 and Media to the G5:Media drive 1 everything backs up on the proper external but for some reason it starts eating up drive space on my G5 drive ? It creates a volume called G5:Media and it backs up the main drive on to itself. That is when i get the above drives under volumes.
I tried to delete the volume/G5:Media but it just reappears and increases in size to 1.5GB. After a CCC to the external that size increases to 45Gb and so on. I need help with this !

Use the Boot Camp Assistant in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder to return the hard drive to a single partition setup.

  • Ipod Touch Volume Question

when I unplug the headphones to listen to the itouch with the speakers the volume goes up and when i plug the headphones back on the volume bar goes down a bit, is this normal?

Yes, when you plug in headphones, the volume goes to the last setting you had using headphones to avoid blasting your eardrums. When you unplug them, it reverts to the speaker volume setting you last used with speakers.

  • Volume Question

In my itunes library, when I play songs through my speakers, I always have to adjust the volume level depending on what song is playing. Is there a way to set the same volume for all the songs in your library? I know you can adjust the volume individually on each song, but that would take forever. clicking "sound check" doesn't seem to help. Thanks!

    i use iVolume for this.

  • Volume question...not about the plastic cover...

I have the plastic cover removed and it's still hard to hear people throught the earpiece...
When I first dial the number and put the phone to my ear, I hear the first ring or two and they are pretty loud...then there's a big decrease in volume on about the third ring...almost like the phone senses the volume is too loud and it turns it down automatically...WHAT IS IT DOING?
Is this normal? Anyone else notice this? If it didn't do this I think the earpiece volume would be ok... any ideas?
    Brian

    Brian,
I've noticed the exact same thing with mine. I have hearing issues so I thought it was just me. Lately I've noticed it more and more though. I hope someone out there has a response.
