i am using nokia 6681 and i want to play mp4 audio files in my mobile. but i am not able to play the files as i converted some mp3 files into mp4 through nokia music manager converter.
please help me

Playing a particular mp4 audio file directly from a website link gives error message "Video can't be played because the file is corrupt". However other mp4 audio files from this same website do work correctly. What can I do to get all the the mp4 audio files to play directly from the same website? I must have the correct plugins, etc. since the other files play. This file is not playing from YouTube, is it on the website.

How to play mp4 audio files as video on my iPod Touch?

I know you are all thinking that this is a stupid question based on the topic, but I have videos for some reason that are in the form of mp4 audio, but they are video when I play them on my computer. I can open these videos (mp4 audio instead of mp4 video) using Windows Media Player and it's not just audio, there is also video. However, whenever I try to sync it to my iPod, it shows up in my music section instead of videos. If i play the video under music, all I see is the white iTunes background, no video. Is there anyway for me to set these files to be recognized as video and store it under my movies category?

First, go into Get Info and change the Media Kind on the Options tab to tell iTunes that this is a video. Next, you need to sync this item from the Video tab on your iPod detail in iTunes (i.e. don't sync it as if it was a Music item). If you sync all video content then this will happen automatically once you change the Media Kind. But if you only sync part of your video library, make sure you include this video in the sync selection.
If you still have problems, you may need to convert the video for iPod playback, even if it plays fine in iTunes. If that's the case, right-click on the video and you'll see an option to convert for iPod use, which will make a copy (so make sure you know which version to sync to the iPod, or simply delete the original).

Can my iMac play back mp3 or mp4 audio?

I would like to know if I can play mp3 or mp4 audio files on my iMac with OS X Yosemite. iI is a 27" 3.2 GHz with an Intel Core i5 and 8 gig memory. I am interested in an audio bible study in that format. I appreciate any help I can get.

Of course. Mp3 is universal standard. Mp4 is a standard based on Apple audio/video specs
Pretty much any Mac can play either format natively.
The included Quicktime player should be able to handle the formats without any issues.

ATR, just to make sure you understand me, all my video clips in my folders appear as the first frame of the video clip when I view my folders as (small, medium, large)icons instead of lists, when saved as .avi files but when saved as .mp4 files, those icons display as a graphic icon of filmstrip with a musical note on it. I do have various other methods to open with (quick time, windows media, winamp or real player) but prefer real player because I like it's quick and easy trimmer that comes along with it, since so many of my videos are just pet antics where you need to clip off the boring beginning and ends of the video.
I did go on a few of the icons and right clicked, Open With, and tried quick time and also Windows Media and it did nothing as far as how the file was saved for display, and they opened the same no matter which player I used...the actual video opens and plays right at it's first frame... but it's the way it is visually displayed in STORAGE that bugs me because it isn't immediately apparent to me what it is a video of (weddings, outside the house, pet antics)... it makes me have to actually title things and read titles where before I let it just be dates because I had the visual of that first frame as a reference. Obviously, this is a problem for unedited videos only, as anything I actually work with, I do give a title along with the date of the video.
I also just realized this seems to be the way ALL videos that are wrapped in .mp4 are displayed, as my bloggie camera's videos appear the same way. Now I know why! My other videos display as .avi's so I see the frame. Puzzle solved. Guess I'll just have to learn to live with it, as it seems to be how things display with the various formats.
Now I need to watch some tutorials to learn how this Premiere program works! It's all new to me, since this is the first time I've been able load any of my videos onto it. I haven't even been able to figure out how to trim on it yet!

Software 7.0(6897.5) update causes loss of MP4 audio

I recently updated one of my Apple TVs (AT) to software version 7.0(6897.5).
After the update some of my MP4 movies no longer had audio.
But other MP4 movies played audio fine.
iTunes was still able to play all the MP4 movies on my PC with the audio present.
So this told me the problem was with the AT.
I then tried the menu restart option in AT, no luck.
I then tried unplugging the AT (both HDMI and power) and reconnecting after a few minutes, no luck.
I then tried swapping the AT with another one that I own that has software version 6.1.1(6698.99.19) and all of my MP4 movies play their audio just fine, like before the update to 7.0
I then swapped back to the AT unit with 7.0 version software and again some MP4 movies play audio fine and others have no audio.
This tells me there is a bug in version 7.0. Any word on when there might be a fix?

An update. I tried something with one of my MP4 movies that would not play audio with software version 7.0 that worked.
I re-created the MP4 movie and changed the audio format from 5.1 format to stereo format and now I get the movie with sound.
The original MP4 movie in 5.1 audio still has no sound.
It appears the software version 7.0 is not compatible with 5.1 audio format.
I hope they fix this bug soon because a lot of my movies are in 5.1 audio format.

AAC is Advanced Audio Coding. Basically it's a format that sounds better than MP3 but doesn't take up as much space as a lossless format (like you'd have on a CD). More than likely you've had that encoding turned on when you ripped your music into itunes (it's the default encoder). Therefore your LG phone won't play them.
You need to turn off the AAC format by going to the iTunes menu, Preferences, General (at the top), then clicking the "Import Preferences" button. Change the AAC Encoder to MP3 Encoder. After that you'll have to make MP3 copies of your songs by right clicking them and selecting "Create MP3 Version." You'll get a copy of the song that should transfer to your SD card and have MP3 encoding. Hopefully your phone will play that.

Nero MP4 audio problem

I have a number of MP4 audio files created using Nero 6. With the recent upgrade of iTunes, the program now interprets them as video. The screen turns black and the sound quality is extremely bad. Besides converting the format, is there a way to coax iTunes to play them as pure audio like the older version did. I have a new x-fi soundcard but I don't think this is the problem because they play fine in other audio applications.
Hope someone here can help, and thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Rename 'em to M4A files. This usually works.
Failing that, load the files up in foobar and use the "Optimize MP4/M4A" function on them. This sometimes helps.

for me it is intesting, what kind of program is nearly to iTunes
(gtkpod or amarok for example) without a virtualisation to use iTunes
direct.
So in this case it is important to manage AAC/MPEG4-Audio files for me.
I heard it is a little bit tricky under Linux and i don't found realy a good
solution.
And this is the reason why i took this forum to collect some experiences

How can I cut a section of video, but leave the audio playing?

Hi, I want to edit, or remove a small section of video, but leave the audio playing in the background. I want to just put up a picture in the same spot. But, I need the video's audio to keep playing. I videotaped someone speaking, but there is a section where there is a mistake, namely, the camera was moved. I need to keep the audio going, and figured I would just put a still image of text or picture in the section where the mistake is, that's why I need the audio to keep playing. It's too long of a section to just do a transition to cover the mistake. Can someone help me with this? I guess you could call what I want to do is cut to a still image while the audio keeps playing?
