MP4 file doesn't play immediately when I move forward or backward in Media Player

Hello there,
I have a problem with Media Player and I appreciate if someone could help me.
I have a project created in Adobe Premier CS5, all footage are 1920x1080 29.97 fps. After I done with editing I encoded with adobe encoder with the following details:
H.264
1280x720
29.97 fps
Level 3.2
AAC
Audio 192 kbps
VBR, 1 Pass
Target 4.00, Max 4.00 Mbps
Also selected Use Maximum Render Quality
I rendered the first half of the video and played it in Media player, when I move the file forward or back it takes almost 20 sec. to play again that part of the video. It plays fine with VLC player and Quick Time, but not media player. I tried another video from someone else and it doesn't have this problem with Media player, it plays fine when I move the video forward or back.
Could You please some one tell me what I am doing wrong? is my setting wrong? Unfrtunately I cannot ignore Media player and use another player because this file is for an online display which the browser is Media Player.

OK.
That doesn't necessarily eliminate the media player as the issue, though. I have files that play fine in Windows Media Player or VLC, but will not play correctly in my preferred KM Player. Their's nothing wrong with the files, it's just the player isn't designed to handle them.
So there may well be something different about this file, but not necesarily something wrong with the file. The issue could still be with the player. That the file works in two other players is pretty good evidence of that theory.

MP4 files won't play in mobile browser?

I have a media file, MP4, which plays fine on desktop browsers. But on the iPhone4 and on Android 2.2 mobile devices this media file won't play within the browser. I get a broken link where the embedded video should be playing. I am using proper object/embed tags per a previous successful attempt I made doing this and I cross referenced my classid to one that was posted online to make sure I didn't miss any syntax. What could be going wrong? Did I encode the mp4 incorrectly? If so, then why does a 3gp file that I rendered FROM the broken mp4 play within the mobile devices without a hitch?

Are you sure you have Photoshop Elements 8 and not Photoshop Premier elements 8? I would have thought that MP4 files can be played in Premier elements (PE) rather than Photoshop elements (PSE). PSE is for photos and PE is for movies and videos.
Perhaps you could try installing the trial version of PE13 to see if anything changes. I am not into movies and all that so my answer is just a guess work.

I just upgraded to PSE 13 on my Windows 8.1 PC, but none of my MP4 files with MP4V video will play in PSE 13. I get an error dialog saying that I don't have the "required codec installed". This is not the case because I still have PSE 8 installed on the same PC and it plays these videos fine. These files also play fine in both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Media Player so what is wrong with PSE 13? This seems like a bug in PSE and I don't want to install Quicktime on my PC.

I am listening to embedded training files on the Quick Time player (I think). They cannot be copied to protect the information. You only have the option of listening. I used to be able to click on the Q in the audio strip and it would provide a diagonal arrow and this would allow me to expand the bar to a full screen. I then had the bar which would allow me to navigate in case I wanted to listen again or in case I wanted to move forward. After my upgrade, I can no longer expand the strip to a full screen with the adjuster. Now I have not chance to take a break in listening to these audios and most of them are at least an hour long. Thanks for your help.

After IOS 4.1 update, some of my user generated MP4 files no longer play.

You can see them correctly in the play menu in home sharing, and you can fast forward through the file, but they won't play.
The same files worked flawlessly in IOS 4.0 and now they are broken. It's not all files, only some. I have a case opened on this with Apple Care and the response so far from Engineering is: "they only support Apple generated content".
Does anyone have any more insight in to what perhaps was "fixed" that might have caused this degradation (or lack thereof!) in playback of certain MP4s?

Yup. This is a known issue but it's not known to that many since most of the customers get all their content straight from iTunes. There's only ONE way to get the non-iTunes HD MP4s to play. When you are staring at the blank screen, waiting for the video to buffer (which for the majority of the time, will never happen), press Down on the controller to pull up the timeline with chapter marks. Now, press Forward to skip chapters. With the original 4.1 update, you can skip all the way to the end of the last chapter, give it a few seconds, and then skip all the way back to the beginning of the first chapter (same chapter timeline, but you press Back until it goes to the start of the first chapter). With the recent 4.1.1 update, it's a little trickier. When you skip all the way to the end of the last chapter, if you don't immediately skip back, it will take you back to your videos list because it registers as you having finished watching the video. Now, keep in mind all of this takes places on the timeline with the CHAPTER MARKS.
Second thing, be sure you have chapter marks set on the MP4 file or else the chapter skip workaround will not work (since there's no chapters). You can most probably use any metadata utility you wish to set the chapter marks but I personally am using iSubtitler. I also set the chapter marks for every 10 minutes.
I don't know exactly what has changed since the original 4.0 firmware on the ATV but it has messed up the buffering for large HD non-iTunes purchased videos.

Audio file doesn't play on the server

Solution: Embed a Flash MP3 Media Player on your page. You'll reach the widest audience with Flash because Flash media plug-in comes factory installed on almost all new computers. QuickTime doesn't.

My incoming mail user .wav file doesn't play for incoming mails. It does work on local test.

I have windows 7 Professional PC and use Mozilla Thunderbird 24.4.0 as my email account. I have a local .wav music file for incoming mail which tests OK, but when a new mail arrives it doesn't play. I have all the boxes ticked in the settings. Can anyone help please?

An update on local .wav sound file for incoming TB mail messages.
Driver Booster found outdated drivers and all have been updated.
Sound device has been removed from the device manager and automatically re-installed.
From advice given I have turned mail.imap.use_status_for_biff to "false".
Still no sound from my local .wav file. Is my problem unique? Is 2.74 MB too large as a sound file?

Sony EX1 .mp4 files will not play in Mountain Lion

I have .mp4 files from a Sony Ex1 camera. They are in the correct file structure in the BPAV folder. They will open and play in Quicktime 7 but not Quicktime 10.2. (Black screen, no audio.) They will not preview (black screen, no audio) They will play in the Sony viewer. Of course they will not import into a NLE.
This is what Quicktime 10.2 inspector says:

All the files worked fine till I "upgraded" to Mountain Lion
I can play .mp4 files I compressed myself.

VLC will play the AAC audio files. It reports the following as their codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a) 48 kHz
Incidentally, I get the same results (no audio) when attempting to play the QuickTime audio files on a MacBook Air that is also running 10.8 Mountain Lion. When I boot into 10.6 Snow Leopard on the same computer, the files do play properly in QuickTime Player.

I'm running OS 10.7.5 and most of the .mov files that were generated with Quicktime 7 doesn't play anymore, except in VLC.
I used QT7 because it can still crop and edit videos, instead of QT 10 that came with the system.
QT7 has a also a very nice feature that allow to reset the image ratio, which is sometime very usefull.
I shall say that videos came from a digital recorder I used to tape the TV and those files came as .AVI
Anyway, overnight (probably after an update of iTunes or any part of the system) QT 7 nor 10 can play those files anymore !
Each time I try to open a file with QT it says I need a codec, and leads to the DIVX download page, but installing this codec doesn't solve my problem.
QT7 was a very fine software and worked until now.
Why an update makes my system go backward ??!?
I'm a huge fan of Apple, but that is not acceptable !!!
It just makes me want to purchase on older mac and go back to 10.6 !!!
Shame on you Apple !

Doesn't play music when docked

My iPhone 4 does not play music when docked on any type of docking station or when I plug it into my iTrip in my car. It still charges just fine, but immediately stops playing music when plugged in. When it is plugged into external speakers, it stops playing on its own speakers as well.
I also have an unrelated problem that came up yesterday: my phone's power button is jammed up. I cannot even push it anymore. This is my 3rd iPhone in less than a year that has had this problem. I don't think I push the button very hard at all, not anymore than anyone else. What makes this happen, and can I get it fixed without paying out the *** and without taking it apart myself? I got my phone from Best Buy as I don't have an Apple store within 150 miles of me. I am currently using AssistiveTouch instead, which is just plain annoying. Please help with either problem if you can!

Recently, I have the same problem but with my B&W Zeppelin, and it turned out it was the problem of B&W and has sent it for service.

Mp4 file is not playing on N97

Hi, I have mp4 video file unable to play the same on my N97. Is there any converter avaliable to import on to my N97 or can any one help me to see this vedio on my N97 Regards, J.Sridhar

MP4 will play but it depends upon what format it is .

PS file in illustrator changes color when I move it??

When I open a ps file in illustrator some objects change color when I move them and are displayed correctly in preview and Photoshop, why and how do I fix this?
Also the object seems to be duplicated. It should have the same and only the colors of the scale bar. In another file the image part is correct and the scale bar is incorrect.

It is an odd problem. The "good" screen shot is from opening the PS file in mac's preview. As it is, I use several tools in illustrator to get the final image where I need it to be; several layers and what not. I have tired 5, 5.1, and 6 with the same problem. Again I have a different problem when I use a different figure:
As you can see just the opposite problem is the case. The map part is good while the color scale if off. Both parts are made in the same way and more or less in the same sequence, I don't think it is purely a problem at birth and other software can "see" it correctly, so I don't think it is a hardware problem.

Inserted movie's auido doesn't stop even if we move forward

Hi,
In captivate 2.0, I'm inserting another flash movie with
audio as an "animation slide". on the slide (not in the inserted
movie), the display time is "rest of slide". i have a button to go
to next slide. next slide has its own audio. problem is that, while
playing, before the inserted movie finishes, if i click the button,
the movie proceeds to next slide, but the audio of inserted movie
doesn't stop. i.e. now i'm hearing audio from the incompleted
inserted movie plus audio of the second slide. How can i completely
stop the inserted movie from playing audio after i click the
button. I think the same problem is there if i use the Captivate's
playback control buttons also.

thanks for the reply. i think the option of keeping audio in
parent file is not possible in my case because the child file shows
configuring a particular s/w thru several slides and sync with
audio is important. and i think in Captivate, there's no option for
exporting audio from a project as a single mp3 file so that i can
import it in the parent slide.
the end option of child project is "to stop project". yes, i
can set the length of the parent slide to a numerical value. but
the problems is that, if user click the continue button included in
the parent slide before the child movie finishes, it goes to the
next slide, but audio of child movie continues.

Why does my iTunes window freeze and wont close until i shut my computer down, when the "iTunes is not the default media player" message appears? and how do i fix this? i just want to fix my music, but it freezes and i can't use my computer correctly.

when i plug my iPod into my computer, iTunes opens as normal, but for a while it's been giving me a message that says "iTunes is not the default media player" and after i 'tried' to do that, i'll close the settings window and my iTunes window will freeze and not close, reload, or anything. and if i "open drvice to view files" that window will freeze too, the internal storage window. i can't get iTunes to close with ALT+F4, or right clicking the tab on the bottom of the screen to close it, or clicking the 'X' button. the only way it closes is when i shut down my computer. please help me fix this. Its getting Really Really tiring having to restart my computer over and over.
