Mp4 file exported as flv in cs3

hi there,
i'm wondering...i usually have no problem importing .mov or
.mpg files and exporting them in flash but for some strange reason,
flash is not reading the
mp4 files i have as "video" files. (even though i can watch
them in quicktime.) however, i was able to import them anyway and
export them as .flv files as normal. i thought everything was fine
but then the video just sort of stops about three quarters of the
way through and the sound drops out. (this doesn't happen in the
original mp4 files. anyone run into this problem before or is it
just me? any suggestions? your input is much appreciated!
oh,
here's an example of what
happens, when you click on one of the commercial links in the
"what's playing" section that appears.
thanks in advance,
denise

oh, thanks so much for the offer....actually i didn't end up
fixing the problem that i was having of importing the mp4 files
into flash and exporting them to flv format...but i did bring the
mp4 files as a plug-in into dreamweaver and just have them play as
is in quicktime or i believe whatever the user's default player is.
so, basicly, i posted them as they were given to me by my client.
it would have been nice to have everything smoothly open up in
flash, but this works too.
thanks for your reply. i appreciate it.

  • Strange color change in graphic when ID file exported to pdf  ID CS3

I open a pdf of some special graphic or scientific equation in Photoshop, put it into grayscale, discard layers, and save as a Tiff. I then import it into a two-color InDesign document. With the selection tool, I choose a swatch of one of the two colors in the document at 10% tint, to be a background color (where there is no content in the Tiff). With the direct selection tool I then choose from the swatches the other color of the two-color document for the actual content of the graphic (text, drawing, etc.). On-screen this looks exactly as it should. However, when I export the InDesign file as a pdf, the color of the background of the graphic is a 10% tint of the second color, not the first color. I have tried redoing the graphic in Photoshop in different ways, but no matter what I do the export to pdf from InDesign changes the color of the background of the graphic to the other color. How can I fix this problem? I am on a new MacBook, 2.4 GHz Intel core 2 Duo; 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory; OSX 10.5.6.

Well this is the Reader forum. You cannot check colors using Reader. Are you using Acrobat? If so, you will want to ask in the Acrobat forum for your OS. Good luck.

  • Export to FLV but no audio

I have tried so many programs, I'm losing track.
I have QT Pro 7.1.5 and FLV component 2.0. I have MPEG1-Muxed files, which I used 'save as' to create .mov files (tried other software and had no luck). Now, the .mov files I saved are great, but when I Export to FLV, all I get is the video - No Audio.
I have tried MPEG Streamclip, ffmpegX.app, Sorensen Squeeze, etc. and none of them will allow me to export the full video WITH audio.
Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm not very knowledgeable with video, so perhaps I'm doing something wrong?
I've spent hours trying to figure this out, if anyone has any idea what I can do to get these files exported to FLV I would appreciate any help at all. I'm about to give up.
    thank you~

Whoa! Think I'm in way over my head.
There are so many demux settings, but none of the settings really seem to be helpful in this case, unless I'm not understanding the Help file. I still need to sync the video and audio, and I've already edited all the .mov files, so I'm not sure this would work. I definitely wouldn't want to edit all the files all over again and risk a sync problem in the end. ( I just wasted a week working on these files to publish 30 min. clips, audio only clips, editing the timelines, adding graphics, etc.) Then I'm supposed to publish FLV and WMV files for this client.
I was hoping QuickTime "Pro" was going to be the solution to this stuff but looks like my time is up. I think I'll hit PANIC now.

  • Adding metadata to .mp4 files or .flv files

I just recently discovered that I cannot tag .mp4 files or.flv files with metadata in bridge? Anyone know of a workaround to add metadata to these files within bridge besides using Quicktime?
    Thanks

    .....Seriously??.....
Nothing- Oh well I guess I'm the only one with this issue.
Anyways if anyone cares to know- the workaround to this issue is this:
(well it's really not a workaround as much as an upgrade)
When checking out the upgrade trial to my CS4 Suite I found that Premiere Pro CS4 can export to h.264 video as .f4v and these files can be tagged with metadata within bridge just like .jpg's- Nice. Only problem is the preview of these .f4v files do not fit the preview window- very odd- I have to use the filmstrip view to view these videos otherwise they get cut off by the normal preview window
Oh well that's a minor gripe at least I can tag these with metadata
Maybe this helps someone because I know it drove me mad trying to figure this whole thing out recently

  • CS3 and mp4 files, black frames

    Hi,
I am working as a reporter for the sports portal. So far I have been making my videos using Adobe Pro CS3. Previously I used Sony MiniDV Handycam and I had no problem editing them afterwards. Yesterday I got new camera - Sony XDCAM EX. When I import videos in my computer I have them in MP4 format. The first problem I had was that I could have sound for those MP4 files when I imported them in Adobe CS3 (if someone could help with this as well, it would be wonderful). I figured out how to get this sound but when I finally made my video and exported that, my new .avi movie had like black frames, it was dimming regularly like the movies they made in the beggining of previous century.

  • FLV export out of AE CS3

I have read in past posts that you need Flash installed to be able to export flv out of AE CS3. Is that correct?
That could be the reason why I am getting corrupt exports of flv out of AE now because my Flash has expired. I have the option to save as a Sorenson squeeze.
    Thanks.
    SH

Tim is right, there should be nothing that stops you from creatinbg FLVs even without Flash installed. If the files are corrupted somehow, it would more point to a configuration problem. this has been known to happen if you use the Quicktime FLV extension, but Tim also provided the right solution for that: Never use Export, but rather use the Render Queue with native FLV rendering. If FLV export is not listed on the RQ, you will have to re-install. In that case something is completely wrong.

  • Audio stuttering problems with certain exported MP4 files

I'm currently running Captivate 6.1.0.319 on my old and decrepit Pentium 4 machine that has 4GB of RAM and is running Windows 7 SP1. I'm developing an online training course on RoboHelp 10 for Udemy, and they require all lecture files to be in MP4 format. Unfortunately, some of the MP4 files I generate from Captivate have audio stuttering starting a few seconds into the generated video and nothing I try fixes the problem.
All the videos are being recorded with video dimensions of 1360 x 978 pixels. I import the .cptc file I recorded into the .cptx file, and then I import an MP4 audio file into the .cptx file. When I finish editing the .cptx file, I publish it to an MP4 file using the highest video settings and the highest variable bitrate audio settings.
I have tried the following to try to fix the problem:
    Turned off SWF compression.
Created a new .cptx file and copied the slide from the problem .cptx file into the new one, and published that new .cptx file.
Disabled all software operating in the foreground and the background.
Tried generating the MP4 file on my laptop; the laptop runs the same version of Captivate on Windows 8.
As I said, Captivate generates some MP4 files perfectly without any stuttering, and others have the stuttering problem. If this problem sounds familiar, it's because I wrote a couple of messages about this a few months ago and despite some good suggestions, I wasn't able to solve the problem. I've spent my time during the past few months trying to find another program that will convert SWF files to one of the formats Udemy supports -- MP4, MOV, or FLV -- without success. Captivate exports to SWF and HTML5 format files without any trouble at all. But MP4 generation is spotty and I need to get this resolved so I can get this project off my plate and start making money off it.
If you have any further questions, please let me know. I look forward to hearing your suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Eric Butow

    Hi,
I am having the same issue and cannot figure out what is causing it, as it occurs randomly - but fairly frequently  - when I publish to mp4. And it is not tied to the project - seems to be something happening during the publishing. The issue might occur one time when pubishing a project and if republished again it may or may not occur again. I would be very interested in finding exactly what is causing this and any step that are tested and proven for getting away from the problem.

  • How can I export a compressed mp4 file from iMovie (mavericks)?

    Hello everyone,
I had just downloaded the new version of iMovie.
I'm very amazed to see that the funcion "Export movie with QuickTime" is not available.
    I used this funcion to customize parameters of exported videos;
How can now customize parameters? I have to use another external software to produce mp4 files???
    Thankyou for answers.
    Gianmarco

If you use "Share" and choose 540P, 720P or 1080P it will be mp4, withH264 codec.  You just have to once figure out what spefic settings (for example bitrates) are used with the defaults from iMovie 13 (look-up the exported files with info in Quicktime), and wether they are ok with you.
In the former version I already used automator to achieve some specfic settings for my web-video's, now I think I don't need that anymore.
The only way around as far as I know is the usage of QTPro7 or compressor. Export as 1080P and open the file with one of those apps.

  • Why does my exported mp4 file look so bad when it is viewed in adobe acrobat pdf file?

I have embedded an mp4 (exported from premier pro cs6) video file into adobe acrobat and its not sharp viewing of my video anymore. It was a sharp video when viewed in both premier and the exported mp4 files, but once embedded in acrobat it looses sharpness, anyone know what the problem might be? Could my settings  in adobe acrobat be wrong? I would think the problem is in adobe acrobat since the exported mp4 video views crisp and clear before its embedded, any ideas to assure sharpness with my video after its embedded into the adobe acrobat pdf?
Hoping someone has an answer to this, I think my problem might lie within the adobe acrobat settings????
or maybe there is no way around and I need to expect this video not to look as crisp and clear after I embed it into acrobat.... as it is when viewing in premier pro, mp4, etc.????
Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.
Someone Im sure is taking theri exported premier files and embedding them to create pdf files? Would love to hear if anyone has encountered this issue.
Thanks so much in advance for any help offered.

    Hi Dave,
I just completed a test and comparison between the two PDF's,
compared the file as you suggested with the floating option and changing setting to actual size of the original premier pro / mp4 file size and
the old pdf that did not utilize the floating and file size option.
I do notice a slight difference. The PDF with the floating window with the match of the media clips original dimensions appears to be crisper.
I will be having the final pdf document set utilizing this method for the embeded mp4 movie and hope that the department doing this (next stage of this job) will agree that this is better to use your steps to embed all the video files into a pdf.
Thanks so much for your time.
Hope you had a happy holiday, and hope you have a very happy and healthy new year.
    Thanks, Amy

  • What's the best quality export for a 720 X 480 size, 24fps mp4 file?

    Whats the best quality export for a 720 X 480 size, 24fps mp4 file?
This movie trailer will be sent to a distributer overseas.
The export I been resorting to lately is MPEG 2 DV High Quality as oppose to anything HDTV because it just shrinks the picture, obviously lol
Do I have anymore options besides Mpeg 2: NTSC DV High Quality?

Lagarith is a codec that you install separately.  A very brief Search would have given you that info.
You can access the Lagarith option (once installed) using the Microsoft AVI format, and selecting Lagarith under Video Codec in the Video tab.

  • How do i play .mp4 files via Dreamweaver CS3??

    Hi,
Using Flash CS3 the RTMP path to the .mp4 file is:
rtmp://localhost/vod/mp4:sample.mp4 and it works fine to play
    .mp4's, mov's etc.....
In Dreamweaver CS3 it wont accept any combination of paths.
Unlike Flash CS3 which only requires the single String,
Dreamweaver has two boxes that need to be filled in: The Server URI
field and also the Stream Name field.
Like FMS 2, where you don't name the streams folder in the
url, Dreamweaver CS3 is looking for it ie the "media folder" which
    has replaced the "stream" folder.
Where in Flash CS3 you have to use the convention
mp4:sample.mp4, Dreammeaver will not accept anything.
Any help here would be appreciated

I assume from the silence that Dreamweaver CS3 has not been
updated to handle Flash 9 player and streaming Video from FMS 3.0
    then.

  • Can I export an .mp4 file created by Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 to tape using alternative software?

I am editng with Premiere Pro CS4 on a Windows XP system.  I attempt to disable all startup and background software .  When i export a one hour completed project to tape, I invariably get at least one glitch (momentary stop) on the resulting tape. Is there an alternate program I can use to export to tape an .mp4 file created by CS4?

Could be wrong, but as far as I know the only way to "export" to tape is to PLAY the timeline while the camera is connected via Firewire and in record mode

I am trying to get an edited movie into mpeg format to burn to DVD. I have exported the file to .mp4 format but when using Burn to convert to mpeg error message states the .mp4 file has no video/audio attached - why?
In this latest version there is no "finalise" option to render so not sure what I am not doing or what I need to do to correct this.

Did you use the correct dimensions fo DVD burning?
Share to file and in the next window click on the small disclosure triangle next to Size:

  • How to export as a .mp4 file in good quality?

    Hi,
I want to produce a video as a .mp4 file which suits best for the webb.
How to export a project from iMovie as a .mp4 file in a GOOD quality and original size or ratio?
    What to do?
I went to Share-export with Quick Time and changed the file format to MPEG4 but the quality is really bad. The size is small 300x200 something and picture quality is really bad.
How to produce a video easiest in iMovie which suits best for the webb (in HD quality). Not all people have Quick Time so .mov is not suitable. And .m4v files don't play very well on webb. They get stuck.
    What to do?
    Thankful for your help.

Today I started this project, and garageband no longer has "export movie" as a choice,
Are you now using GarageBand 10.0?
    Then import the movie,
Track menu > Show Movie Track
File menu > Movie > Open Movie
    Mix the sound track song
Then use the "File" menu > Movie > Export Audio to Movie.
This will write the audio aa an audio track into the imported movie.
