.mp4 files not playing on 5130 xpressmusic

I have some captured video files from my 6720c cellphone which I've copied over to my new 5130 xpressmusic phone. When I try to play them, I can only hear the sound but can't see the video file. Whats the matter as theyw ork perfectly in my 6720c phone? Is there a way to make them work properly?
Thanks.

It depends how the files were encoded. The 5130 will play normal MP4-video files but it won't play MPEG-4(H264) or MPEG-4(VSP) files.

  • Local video file (.mp4) file not play in MAC OS using netstream (NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound)

I have developed adobe air application using adobe flash builder 4.6 for Windows and Mac OS. Application allow user to download movie (.mp4) file in his system at specific location for play  without live streaming. File downloading correctly in both OS and also file playing from download location in Window application correctly. but when start playing file Mac OS application not start playing.
When start playing in mac OS, NetStatusEvent.Net_Status event return "NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound" event info code. I have found one solution for mac OS is use colon notation instead of slash notation. I have tried it but it also not working.
    Code:
    _nc = new NetConnection();
    _nc.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.Net_Status, connectionHandler);
    _nc.connect(null);
    private function connectionHandler(event:NetStatusEvent):void
         trace("Connection to server: " + event.info.code);
/// Get "NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound" code in mac OS.
    slash notation path: /Users/mayur/Downloads/myvideo.mp4
Colon notation path: I have tried following colon notation path
    1) :Users:mayur:Downloads:myvideo.mp4
    2) Users:mayur:Downloads:myvideo.mp4
    3) Macintosh HD:Users:mayur:Downloads:myvideo.mp4 (Macintosh HD - Drive name)
Please help me to solve this issue.

    Finally I found a solution...
The problem is that AIR on Android stores the application data in the protected directory /data/... which is not accessible by StageWebView (or any browser app).
So you have to copy the video file you want to play to a temporary pubic directory on the sd-card for example and use this in StageWebView.
You also have to create a temporary html-page with the video-tag and load this page in StageWebView (not the string) because external resources are only loaded in StageWebView when using an URL.
On iOS the application storage directory is readable for StageWebView so you don't have to do this step.
    Hope this helps

  • MP4 files not playing in Quicktime 7.3

Lately, I have been getting the following error when I try to play MP4 files in quicktime on my Mac:
"The movie could not be opened. Operation could not be completed. (OSStatus error -50.)"
This error also prevents me from adding the files to iTunes. The weird thing is that they play fine on a PC.
I have tried updating my Quicktime (I am running Leopard), and that did nothing.
    Any ideas?

How can I tell that. I have several. I am also unable to view them in the finder window like I can other .m4v or .mov files.

Contact the manufacturer of the motocycle system.  Many systems are not compatible with iOS devices but work fine for the simple iPods.

  • HELP....AVCHD / MPEG files not playing correctly!

I have been trying to download video that was shot with the new Sony FS100 camera that I'm told are AVCHD or MPEG files to my older Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 timeline, but they are not playing correctly. When I reverse the field dominance, the image plays better but the sound is strange (I was able to speed the sound to 450% and it worked better, but then the balance of the sound from the clip is lost somewhere.).
Any suggestions to make these files play and work correctly? I tried converting them to AVI files but that showed up completely black on the timeline! Anything I've tried either affects the video or audio negatively!  I try either makes the image play or stutterThis was shot in regular SD format, NOT HD, so they should be able to play on  a standard timeline. Can anyone suggest anything to help please? Much appreciated!

Thanks for your reply, I ran it through Media Info. Here are the results:

  • Are .mp4 files not supported when trying to merge 2 videos into 1 video?

Are .mp4 files not supported when trying to merge 2 videos into 1 video? The steps in the manual seem simple enough.  But the paste function won't work on the 1st video after selecting all and then copy on the 2nd video.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on eight different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
    - Did it ever work properly?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.

  • Why do .mp4 files not show up in the Finder/work in iDVD?

    Hi
I downloaded some .mp4 files from the internet on my Windows PC and as per usual they are played by quicktime on my PC.
When I saved them to my external HDD and plugged it into my MBP, the folder containing the mp4 files does not appear, and neither will they import into iDVD where I am trying to burn them.
I am a new MBP user (and a happy one so far) so I am well aware I coukd be missing something here, but I thought that .mp4 was practically guaranteed to play on a Mac especially given the relationship to video iPods?
Thanks in advance for your contributions!
Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Thanks, but after installing this nothing seems to have changed except that if I download the .mp4 files from my Mac they appear on the Desktop. They can be played with Quicktime but if they are played in VLC there is no sound
The folder on my external HDD which contains the .mp4 files still does not ahow up.
    I am now very confused!
Does anyone have more ideas, I'll try whatever!
    Thanks

  • Captivate 6 MP4 does not play in Quicktime 7.7.2

When I published to MP4 using the YouTube HD or SD setting in Captivate 5.5, Quicktime 7.7.2 plays the video just fine.
When I publish to MP4 using the YouTube HD or SD settings in Captivate 6, Quicktime 7.7.2 does not render the video correctly. It plays, but it looks so bad as to be unusable.
Does Captivate 6 use a different codec or something? Anything I can do to output an MP4 file from Captivate 6 that plays in Quicktime?

Is this a Yosemite issue? Not being able to play older QuickTime 7 files properly? I'm not sure what else the issue could be since everything seems to work fine in 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9 (unfortunately, I have been unable to test this in 10.10 or 10.10.1). Maybe I'm overcomplicating a simple issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some very interesting observations which peaked my own curiosity due to on-again, off-again nature of the playback. I suspect this is either a "bug" or represents content handling changes that are currently in the process of  "evolving." Not a web site programmer so I used iWeb to run some contrast-comparison tests on how audio was handled by the plug-in software when directly accessing the content by its URL and via the page embed strategies. My results mirrored yours in that:
    1) All legacy codecs tested (A-Law, IMA, QDM2, QPV, and u-Law) in an MOV file container played correctly in the QT 7 player.
    2) The same files all played correctly when content was accessed by the plug-in software directly using the URL reference.
    3) None of the files containing legacy audio compression formats would play audio using the plug-in software using a web page embedding strategy.
    4) An MP4 (H.264/AAC) version of you original clip played correctly in all instances.
    5) Replacing your QDM2 audio track with an AAC audio track in the original MOV file allowed the file to play correctly in all instances.
Based on these observations, I suspect the problem is in the way the software is currently programmed to handle (or rather ignore) the embedded strategy content. However, as you indicated, it is probably time to update your files. Not only did the H.264/AAC version of your original file play in all instances, but it used less than 45% of the file space/bandwidth for the settings I employed as compared to your original "0706_split_brain_red.mov" original file.

  • My mp4 fileswill not play

I am new to the world of Macs.
I transfered some photos and mp4 files from my Sony camera to iPhoto, no problem with the photos but the mp4 files are displayed but will not play.
Quicktime  will not operate it just apears as a logo, and I have downloaded Mplayer x but this also will not load fron the icon, can anyone out there give me some advice plaese?

You need to find out from Sony, what codec compression engine is used on top of MPEG-4.  I have a Sony HX 100XV and had to get a special video converter to open the files.

  • MPEG 4/MP4 will not play in iTunes or Quicktime

A few files will not open in either iTunes or Quicktime, it comes up with an notice saying "Error-2408: Couldn't open the file because it is not a file that Quicktime understands". And when I attempt to add them to iTunes, nothing happens, my movie sector is left blank. All my files are MP4 and they work fine, but for some reason these few particular files will not play. I really want these on my iPod ASAP because I have a 23 hour flight coming up. Please help!

It was not possible to recover the song on the PC.  The fix was to download the song again.  It now plays in iTunes and Media Player regardless of compression format.

  • MP4 would not play

I uploaded an MP4 file to my cloud space, it would not play. It played fine on my desktop and on my NLE.

I am not sure MP4, video, etc., are supported file formats? I think this may be due to some rights issues and concerns. I am not sure entirely, perhaps if there are limitations in place it will change some on June 17 when the CC and CCC launch and relaunch?

What types of files can I upload and preview on Creative Cloud?
You can preview many creative file types directly in a web browser on your computer, tablet, or smartphone. These file types include: PSD, AI, INDD, JPG, PDF, GIF, PNG, Photoshop Touch, Ideas, and others.
Creative Cloud Share for all other file types

  • Why does the audio in my .SWF file not play in a Browser?

I created an .swf file using ffmpeg, containing H.264 video and MP3 audio. The file plays perfectly in VLC but  not in a Browser (Chrome/IE). I tried analyzing the file using a trial version of Flash decompiler. Again, only the video plays. The strange thing is that if I extract the MP3 from the file, it plays perfectly using any of th eplayers. It seems to be a muxing issue which VLC apparently handles, but not the player in the browser! Why? Thanks for any pointers.

Yeah. Sorry to say this but many people buy the various brands of format converters, which are everywhere on the Web and which also spam these boards – and often find they are not only out the purchase price but that the app created as many problems as it solved.

  • .mp4 file not opening in safari

Hi all. Got a problem. I have posted an mp4 file on my website and for some reason when i go to the link, it opens up with millions of numbers, text and crazy stuff. However on other browsers, it plays fine. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, Matty

I have posted an mp4 file on my website and for some reason when i go to the link, it opens up with millions of numbers, text and crazy stuff. However on other browsers, it plays fine. Any thoughts? If you have QT Pro, you could try using the "Save As..." option to place you file into an MOV file container before uploading to your web site. If you are using direct URL access of the file, consider embedding your refeences/play instructions.

  • Swf file not playing in browser

I have a problem with a swf file which will not play in web browser.
It played fine until I updated my site. I therefore suspected a pathing issue within dreamweaver and looked thorugh that forum for an answer.
I tried typing the absolute path to the swf file in the browser address bar and found it straight away. When I clicked on it the screen stayed blank.
I checked the path to the file and the flv file was relative to the document and not the site.
swf plays fine in flash player, flash, and locally on dreamweaver.
I moved the swf up the file tree and changed the links accordingly but still would not play.
I also tried saving it as a new swf from flash, but that doesn't play either.
I added another swf to the containing folder and that played fine in the browser.
When I open the fla file in flash it only shows a flv playback movie, not the elements, I think this is because it was created in after effects.
Here is the link to the containing folder, the swf file is Home_page_movie_V2.swf
    http://www.joinerycadsolutions.com/Flash/01 Home
I have other swf files playing fine and this swf played ok originally so I still think it's a pathing problem but I am not that savvy on flash and cannot figure it out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, just bear in mind my low level of ability.
    Thanks
    Stuart

The .swf is loading just fine... but it is expecting to load a .flv video file.
The path inside the .swf to the .flv file is not correct. The path inside the .swf to the .flv file needs to be relative to the .swf as it's located on the Web page, NOT the physical location of the .swf.
Here is the absolute address of the .flv:
    http://www.joinerycadsolutions.com/Flash/01%20Home/Home%20V1.flv
Here is a test player using that address:
    http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/tutorials/flash/cidm_simple_vid_player.html
So unless your .swf is broken, it just a pathing issue.
    From an old post:
    Pathing issues
Almost always when it works on the local machine and not the server, it's a pathing problem.
You can put your Flash related files in whatever folders you want, they do NOT have to be in the root, they do NOT all have to be in the same folder. But if you have a problem and if sticking them all in the root folder works, then you know that the issue was a pathing problem.
Just remember that paths used in the .swf become relative to the Web page on which the .swf is placed, NOT it’s physical location.  So for example, if your .swf is in the flash/data folder and you use that .swf on a Web page in the root folder, you are in effect, removing that .swf from flash/data and putting it in root. So if the .swf is loading any related files (xml, images, video, etc), the path used inside the .swf to load the .xml file has to be relative to it's new location in root and then back down into flash/data. This is true even though when testing the .swf by itself, it can be inside flash/data and work just fine, since relative to it's location, the path is just fine, they are in the same folder. But if that same path is used when the .swf is placed on a page two folder levels up, the relative path has changed, the old "same folder" path will not work.
In fact if you are placing the .swf on a web page in a different folder than the .swf is stored in, and that .swf calls external assets, then direct clicking and opening of the .swf in it’s folder should NOT work! That’s because the paths to the external assets should be relative to the Web page and not the physical location of the .swf.
So just be sure that you use addresses relative to the final Web page locations (not physical file locations) and you can put the Flash related files in what ever folders you want.
