Sorry but Apple has placed heavy copy protection on the videos from the iTunes music store. It is not possible to do this. The only way you can burn it is as a file on a back-up cd or dvd but it will only be a file and not be playable.
Hope this helps

  • I recently got a MacBook Pro and want to burn my videos taken with my iPhone to DVD. What is the easiest program for me to accomplish this? Help!

I recently got a MacBook Pro and want to burn my videos, taken with my iPhone, to DVD. What is the easiest way for me to accomplish this? I've been told I need to download a DVD creator/burner. I've downloaded 3 different free versions, but none of them seem to recognize the video files from my iPhone. I don't need anything fancy or complicated. I just want a way to store these vidoes and be able to play them on our DVD player. Help!

Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder on your PC to /Music/ on your Mac.
Then delete what you don't want.
You will need to authorize yrou computer for the iTunes account yoru mother has.
You should create & use your own iTunes account for any more purchases.
You don't need to export anything and definitely don't need to (and shouldn't) convert anything.

  • I have home movies burned onto a DVD.  How do I get them into imovie?

I have home movies burned onto a DVD.  How do I get them into imove?

i assume you mean for editing.  in that case, you're going to need either some software or hardware to convert the signal from DVD to something that iMovie can handle.
there are a couple of devices out there that can convert sources like DVD, like a Canopus ADVC ($170), or the cheaper Elgato VCD ($85) that converts to mp4.  the main advantage of the Canopus is that i can convert from analog sources like VHS.
if you're just working from DVD sources, then DVDxDV software ($29) will probably do the trick and be the most reasonably priced option.
of course, these all are meant to be used for non-copyrighted DVDs -- they will not work on DVD's that have have copy protection, and no one here will discuss any illegal copying.

  • How can I Burn a Simple DVD with Chapters and Menus out of My Home Videos.

I created an iMovie (unsig iMovie 10.0.2) of my daughter's volleyball season.  I inserted markers separating each game day, hoping these would create chapters in my DVD.  Then I did some research about DVD burning apps and finally downloaded BURN.  With Burn I created a DVD, but this DVD did not have chapters and also did not have a customizable menu.  The whole movie ended up as one 2 hour long chapter.
I have hundresd of family vacation on a hard drive stored and would like to start making iMovies of them to put on DVD for easy watching and forbackup  storing.
What is a simple way I can burn my iMovie with chapters onto a DVD?
My macbook pro did not come with iDVD so I dont have it.
    Thanks.

MY source is HD i beleive. I shot videos with an iPad Mini.
I ventured into this because I offered this DVD to several team parents, so they are waiting for me to give them the DVD.  While I was making it, I added subtitles, showing the game dates, game scores and stats of each player, so it came out really nice.  However, not to concern about quality, i have burt the video in a dual layer dvd in SD.  I dont have a blue ray burner nor media.
This made me want to do the same with my family vacations vieeos, whic now are a bunch of files in a hard drive, sort them by vacation and add titles like lications to actualy be abel to watch them on a dvd someday.
I have apple tv in the family room, but do not use to watch these videos, will look into that. However, I would still want to make the DVD's.
It seems odd how this, basic feature, has been dropped. I guess apple does not want us to use any more discs.
Still hoping I can do this, if not, I will have to gie away the DVDs with the 2 hour long video in a single chapter.

  • Burning footage to DVD with Chapters using FCPX

I have created some footage using FCPX and now want to burn it to DVD. As the footage is long I want to include a menu with chaptures to allow me me to go sytreight to a certai  part i.e. scene selection.
When I select the DVD in the share menu it only appears to allow me to burn the footage and not include chaptures.
    How do I do it

If you choose Compressor, it'll cost you $49 from the Mac App store unless you already have it. The DVD subsequently burned by Compressor will have a basic menu that you have limited control over but the process to a finished DVD has few steps.
If you choose iDVD, it's free. (disclaimer: I don't know for sure if iDVD is still included on new Macs. If it isn't and that's what you have, could be a bit of trouble trying to get a copy). iDVD has a large collection of themes you can use to author a DVD and you can customize it fairly well. iDVD will recompress any video you give it so you can just export the full movie out of FCP X without compressing it first (Share->Export Media command)
    I haven't used "Burn".

  • How to burn valid video DVDs from VIDEO_TS folder

    Hello,
Sorry if this topic is not in the proper location, but as the question is broad, I thought this was the best place to ask.
I just want to burn files located in a VIDEO_TS folder, properly ripped on the hard drive, so as to make a valide Video DVD.
I already attempted to use Burn, to no avail; it fails withing the first seconds, and outputs this line in the Console:
    19/06/09 15:24:16 /Applications/Burn.app/Contents/MacOS/Burn[596] Unexpected quarantine error: -43; ignoring
I don't want to use Toast since it's not a freeware, and using Nero on Ubuntu does provide a valid DVD.
    Thx for help

I don't want to use Toast since it's not a freeware
But it's worth every cent of it! I have been using it for a long time and can't even remember the last time I stuffed up a disk, burning DVDs Music & MP3 CDS, photo cd's data etc.
I have tried a couple of freeware and shareware programs that are supposed to be ok, but spent most of the time producing drink coasters. if there is one program I think everyone should fork out for it would be Roxio Toast.
maybe someone can recommend a freebie, but I will always swear by Toast and think it has easily paid for itself already.
    Cheers

  • MP4 movies not playing on iPod with version 1.3

I have iTunes version 7.6.1.9 and iPod firmware version 1.3. I have several movies converted to MP4 format via Nero which played on the iPod just fine up until about 10 days ago. Now the MP4 movies will no longer play on the iPod, i just get a blank screen. The one movie I did convert using Handbrake to M4V format does still play on the iPod. Also I downloaded an MP4 movie from ipodarchive.com and it plays fine on iPod. All movies in all formats play fine in iTunes.
Does anyone know if there is something in one of the firmware updates which prevents the playing of MP4's converted by certain programs?
    Thanks

I found the same problem. It's not all mp4's, though; some of mine work perfectly. I think higher quality videos don't work, for some reason. Movies at 159 kbps and 640x480 don't work, though they used to. Movies at 79 kbps and 480x352 still work fine.
    Have you found any fixes/workarounds?

  • HOW TO CREATE VIDEO DVD WITH ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER

I AM NEW TO ADOBE PREMIERE. AFTER SOME HOURS OF LEARNING FINALLY I FINISHED EDITING 30 MIN OF VIDEO. NOW I DONT KNOW HOW TO OUTPUT TO DVD ( VIDEO DVD ) TO PLAY IN DVD PLAYERS. PLS HELP.

Which version of Premiere? CC does not include Encore, but you can download the Encore CS6 from your account. As it is part of Premiere CS6, I believe you would need to download and install Premiere/Encore CS6, and then you can uninstall Premiere CS6, leaving Encore CS6 installed.
If you have Premiere CS6, then you already have Encore CS6. In either case, from Premiere, use File > Export > Media to open Media Encoder. For FORMAT, choose "MPEG-2 DVD", then choose an appropriate preset from the list. For instance, if editing with 1080i, then you might choose NTSC Widescreen High Quality. For 1080p, then use the Progressive version, etc.
What is your source video format? If starting with HD, then check the box at the bottom of AME for Max Render Quality, it helps with the scaling.
Hit EXPORT at bottom and it exports two files, an .m2v for video and .wav for audio. Open Encore, start a New DVD project, and then File > Import > As Timeline and grab both those files for import. From there, I recommend finding an Encore tutorial, too involved for me to type it all out here.
Hope this gets you going at least, but search online for tutorials, there is plenty of good, free stuff out there
    Thanks

  • ANY way to burn MP3 CDs/DVDs with folders on iTunes??

Hey all, so I was trying to backup my mp3 collection onto a burned DVD or two (it's pretty big), but that could still play them when I put it into my computer now and then.
iTunes has always been pretty good about burning MP3 discs that'll easily play in your computer (I haven't yet tried burning a DVD as an MP3 disc, but I've heard they work the same). However, the one drawback about it that I see is that the MP3 discs don't really separate the actually albums/songs on the disc when you try opening it on the desktop into actual folders by album/artist/etc., they're all just kind of cluttered together (so if you wanna recopy/reburn an individual album off an MP3 disc back to your computer, you've got to do a Show File in Finder on iTunes and hunt & drag 'em in the Finder, as opposed to just having one folder that you can drag back onto the desktop, Toast, etc.) And that's just with one 650-700 MB CDR; if you're dealing with 4.7 GIGS of music, you can see how it'd be a pain to organize and keep track of).
I know that for PC, Windows Media Player can find any play data CDs with music on them pretty easily. Is there a similar player for Mac users??
I hate to ask about other programs on an iTunes forum, but maybe you guys can relate to this problem, have found ways to deal with it (in the past I've just color-labeled the songs according to album so I can visually see which songs go with which on the Finder, but again, you can see how that'd be a pain to do w/ 4.7 GBs worth). Thanks.

Sort the playlist by Album and Burn and the DVD will be in Album folders.
Sort by Artist and Burn and the DVD will be in Artist/Album folders.

  • .mp4 movie cant see video

Hi, I have an HD .mp4 movie, that when I play it in Quicktime, I hear the audio but the video is black...aka no video. Whats the fix? Am I missing a plugin?

Ok, I installed VLC player and it plays perfectly on that... so why doesn't Quicktime not play the actual video? Also, I want the movie to play in Front Row, but in Front Row, when I choose it, it says it can't play the format. So why do Quicktime and Front Row have issues? I have other .mp4 HD Movies that play fine in both...

  • Combine several Quicktime (.mov) files into a DVD with chapters

I made several Quicktime movie segments (.mov) that I periodically upload to Youtube. Now I have a collection of these short 30 secs to 5 minute videos that I want to incorporate into 1 DVD.
How do I burn it with chapters to represent each videos?

I was experimenting on different formats (they are converted to mp4, m4v and mov files before uploading to Youtube) at the beginning before I settled on .mov files. My Macbook only have 80 gigs so I want to preserve all of the clips I did in DVDs before I erase them from the hard drive before importing/starting a new tape. All of them were captured using a Sony Digital 8 camcorder.

  • Convert avi to iPod mp4, mov to iPod video, mp3/mp4 to aac for iPod & iPhon

I think this is too simple, but can't find a better one.
    1. Download iPod Video Converter for Mac at http://www.download.com/iPod-Video-Converter-for-Mac/3000-22004-10717657.html?tag=pdpprod and run it on your Apple computer
    2. Load files you'd like to convert
Add the video or audio files you'd like to convert by clicking "Add" button in the main interface.
    3. Set output format
In "Profile" drop-down menu, you may select output format. The software allows setting different output formats according to different files.
Tips: by selecting iPod format (*.mp4) in "Profile" drop-down menu, the software will output mp4 file playable on your iPod.
    4. Set General conversion mode (Optional)
After selecting certain output format, you can choose ‘General’ tab on the right top which will show its general standard. By clicking certain settings such as 'Video Quality', ' Audio Quality', 'Output filename', you may set it.
Tips: If you like, select the output folder by clicking the ‘Browse...’ button.
    5. Preview and Trim function
After selecting a video file, you can have a preview of the file on the right bottom preview window. And you can set Start/End of the output files as you like by clicking ‘Trim’ button and edit in the Trim pop-up window.
    6. Set Advance conversion mode (Optional)
After selecting certain output format, you can choose ‘Advance’ tab on the right column which will show its advance standard. By clicking certain settings such as 'Start Time', 'Video Size', 'Bit rate' and so on, you may set it.
    7. Start converting
Finally, click "Convert" in the File menu to start converting. And after a successful conversion, the info "Completed" will show.

I bought Quicktime pro so I could convert my AVI files to watch them on my iPod video.Purchasing QT Pro does not add any more AVI support to QT than you have with the basic player. By this I mean, if you can watch it, you cant convert it. In addition, since some AVI components are not available for the Mac at all and others are m=not available for OS X, you are automatically doomed to not being able to convert "all possible" AVI format combinations.
The program converts (exports) about half the movie and then pops up a window that says it needs "more components" to finish the job.Since you indicate you can convert half the file, it sounds as if you may have installed a proprietary codec which does work but have failed to pay the registration fee to completely "unlock" the export codec. Suggest you find out which codec you are using (e.g. Flip4Mac, DivX, etc.), find out how much they want, and decide if you want to pay up.
This person would be grateful to any kind soul who can take her by the hand and walk her through the process of getting AVI movies onto my iPod video!
My best advice would be to simply not use these files and allow them the dignity of a long overdue death. However, if you must use them, then learn how to distinguish the different audio and video codecs that can be used in combination in this file container. (Us things like the Finder "Get Info," QT "Show Movie Info." QT "Show Movie Properties," or similar media player windows to for this purpose.) Next, google the codec to see if Mac components are available. Lastly, install the available codecs most needed. The problem here is if you install too few, then some files will likely not play. Install to many codecs and usually create conflicts which also prevent files from playing. (I.e., you may need to determine which components are "essential" to you and which you can live without).

  • How can I burn a video shot with an iPhone 4 to a CD so a Windows user can watch it?

I shot a short video with my AT&T iPhone 4 and it's stored in iPhoto 9.1.5 on my iMac running OS X 10.6.8. What do I need to do in order to burn it to a CD so I can give it to a Windows user so he can view the video on his PC running Vista? I'm not sure about the video file format needed for Windows to play the video. Thanks for any help you can provide. I know this is likely a very basic question, but nothing I've tried seems to work. Any suggestions or links to resources that can answer this question will be deeply appreciated.

You should be able to connect to their computer via your USB cable, copy the video over using Windows Explorer and the PC should be able to view it without any conversion.
When you do this, make sure they don't have iTunes set to automatically open and automatically sync when an iOS device is connected.
