MP4 Movie Files are not added to Itunes Library

I have a Macbook Pro I just recently got a week ago, and I have been using Itunes in Mac OS X, but when I tried to add some of my MP4 movies into Itunes on Mac OS, the files do not appear in the library and there is not copy bar for copying the files into the Itunes folder. I have had this problem ever since I started using Ituens on Mac OS and I tried reinstalling Itunes and the same problem comes up. I know the problem is not with the MP4 files because I added the files into Itunes on Windows XP on my other computer and they are added just fine. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I think I figured out why the MP4 files were not being added into the Itunes Library, it is because Mac OS X apparently cannot copy files onto a Windows Formatted external harddrive, even though I thought I could.

  • All songs are not adding to iTunes library

I recently organized the "My Music" folder with 7 subfolders containing approx. 4GBs each.
I also had a lot of dead links in iTunes and decided to do delete my current library and re-add everything.
It should be as simple as adding the "My Music" folder, *however all the songs were not added (most but not all).* What made me relize was when I added my iPod playlist and all songs could not be found. I searched the my music folder for "*.mp3" which returned approx 5200 files, but the iTunes library only has approx. 5000.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Any ideas on how to fix it?

What type of songs/videos are they?
    Are any protected.
Open Quicktime and try to play the songs/videos. Do they play in Quicktime?

  • Mp3 are not added to itunes library

    Hi,
I've got an album in mp3s on my computer.
When I try adding them to iTunes, only the last 5 tracks are added to the library.
However, i can listen to the first tracks in the finder, using preview mode.
Is there a way to add them to the itunes library ?
    Thanks,
    Thierry NC

First, are you sure the tracks aren't there? Did you drag them to an empty playlist window? It may be they are there but they aren't tagged correctly and you'll miss them in a crowded library window.
Some mp3s have issues in iTunes. Try an application called MP3Scan&Repair to repair the files. Some have posted with mp3 problems in the past which this cured.

I used scripting brigde to add a movie that has size bigger than 5GB, exactly after two minutes iTunes return a failed, but the processing of the file is actually added to iTunes Library successfully. The copying take more than 5 minutes to complete. Why the iTunes Scripting Brigde returned failed when it is actually success? It occurred exactly 2 minutes after submit the request to Scripting Brigde. Is this 2 minutes related to the Apple Event time out? if it does, how do I get around this problem? thx

I can tell you that this is some of the absolutely worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I found out from a store employee that when they are really busy with calls, they have third party companies taking overflow calls. One of those companies is Xerox. What can a Xerox call center rep possibly be able to authorize on a Verizon account?  I'm Sure there is a ton of misinformation out there due to this. They don't note the accounts properly or so everyone can see them. I have been transferred before and have asked if they work for Verizon or a third party also and was refused an answer so, apparently they aren't required to disclose that information. I spent a long time in the store on my last visit and it's not just customers that get the runaround. It happens to the store employees as well and it's beyond frustrating.

You can select all the movies you want and change them at once.

  • Since changing our computer I have been unable to download ebooks to my Reader Library I get a message Some file types associated with EPUB files are not associated with Reader Library; Waterstones suggest that I may have accidentally created a new Adobe

When I try to download them from the Waterstones website I get a message saying:
‘Some file types associated with EPUB files are not associated with Reader Library.  Do you want to associate them now?  When I reply yes I get another message; ‘Configuration error unable to update EPUB files check network firewall and try again’.
The ‘books’ are saved in the Download directory and I can’t transfer them from there to my E-Reader. I have not had any problems before, it was very simple; I saved the download and it automatically went into the Reader Library.
I contacted HP and they said it is a software error and suggested I contact Waterstones.  I contacted Waterstones Customer Support and got the following response:
As the error message is specifically mentioning the firewall it does sound like something in the firewall settings is stopping the download from taking place correctly. However, the files should not be being saved to the Download folder. It would be worth trying again by going to your Digital Order History on your Waterstones.com account and pressing the download button, and then making sure to press "Open" not "Save". When you press Open rather than Save it should give the option to open the file with Adobe Digital Editions. If the firewall message still comes up then I'm afraid something is blocking it on your end.
If the above "Open" download method works but you then still get an error message it could possibly be that you have accidentally created a new Adobe ID when setting up on the new computer, rather than signing in with your old Adobe ID. It would be worth trying the aforementioned download technique again first, but if problems did still persist it would be worth calling Adobe themselves on 0207 365 0735, as they should be able to sort out any account issue.
In response to the first para of Waterstones email I already do what they suggest I do press ‘Open’ not ‘Save’ but I don’t get the open with Adobe Digital Editions (we have installed Adobe Digital Editions on the new computer. Waterstones say we may have ‘accidentally created a new Adobe ID when setting up the new computer’ does that mean that we shouldn’t have installed Adobe Digital Editions on the new computer as it would have already been there? How do I sign in with my old Adobe ID?

Hi all after attampting to get some supoport from adobe by phone.... nice people infurating policys as far as support for digital editions or DRM is conserned... However I got no where with support.
I ended up instaling Digital editions on my desktop PC and going through the motions of registering and borrowing a book then returning it. Then I trying on my iPad, Bluefire worked, Over drive did not so I completely removed Overdrive and reinstalled and re registered. all working now.
Maybe some one at adobe did something. Maybe the install of the adobe DE client on a PC corrected what ever was out of wack with my account. Mayby the server that my account lives on did a scan disk and corrected a bad clustrer.
What ever happend My account is actiove and working again. hope this helps others.

  • Which apps "are not in your iTunes library" ?

I get the message "There are apps on" phone "which are not in your iTunes library.  Would you like to back up these apps from your iPhone?" when synching.
How do I find out which apps these are?  I'm trying to determine if they were ones that I decided I don't like and deleted.  Or if there's something else that has gone wrong.

that's my problem...I don't want to have something I've ruled out show back up again - makes it hard to figure out which one I liked.  (and there's always that pesky memory limit)
It's unusual for me to download directly - only when I'm on the road and there's an upgrade I need.
But I do things like download 10 free Sudoku apps, play them on different devices, and go back to iTunes to delete the ones I don't like so they'll be gone from all the devices.
Where's the list "applications A, B, C are on your iPhone, but not iTunes"?
I'm not afraid of a command line if that's where I need to go.

  • Moving audio files around that are not in the iTunes library

    Hi,
Can someone please confirm some behaviour for me. This is regarding iTunes (on OS X naturally) and moving files around that aren't located within the iTunes library.
Most of the files I use are located within the iTunes library, they are fine. However i do maintain a number of files outside of the iTunes library which i primarily use as a DJ. I would like to keep these files seperate, however I do move them occasionally, especially as I classify new music into categories and such.
On my previous powerbook, I noticed that I could move these files and iTunes would still be able to find them, without my manually notifying iTunes where to find them. I did notice a hiccup though, and once when I was recovering from a backup, a bunch of files that i moved weren't found by iTunes.
on my lovely new macbook pro I'm experimenting with the same thing, but it hasn't seemed to been working so far.
my question: Does OS X track where files get moved to? Does iTunes for Mac automatically fix it's library after some period of time through the OS?
I'd really like to confirm this behaviour and see what I can / can't count on.
    thanks,
    conrad

I dont think you can rely on itunes to keep track of your files consistently if you move them around all the time. One solution would be to make a "smart folder" in finder/file/new smart folder. You could call this smart folder "chicago hard house set" and set it to find the tag "chicago hard house set" Then in itunes when you find a track or loop you want to use in that set just add the tag "chicago hard house set" to the composer line under "get info". the smart folder will find the tag in itunes and put a the file in the smart folder, if you keep the smart folder on your desktop (or wherever) Ableton will see the folder and let you access all the files in it. So you can preview all your sound files in itunes and tag them to a specific set and they will show up in that sets smart folder. I use the smart folders to keep track of multiple tracks when recording with Digital Performer onto multiple hard drives at one time.

  • Music files are not opening in itunes.

    Hi
My music files will not open in itunes and is not recognised in the library. I have the files in the 'My Music' file however when looking at the music file it say the file is locked? is there anyway I can get my itunes to recognise the music files?

I finally removed those audio and video files from iPhone, although it will be tough to add them back to iPhone, but at least I saved the phone spaces.
I used software something like iTools, delete everything under File System / User / iTunes Control, then restart phone, that simple, usage count, spaces used are all correct now.

  • .Mov files are not playing on my Mac BookPro

As of this week, I am unable to play my .mov files through Quick Time on my Mac Book Pro.  A small windo appears and states that sometype of conversion is occurring and eventually some of my movie files will play.
I am at work creating a .mov file through quick time and the file will not play.

That's a well documented limitation of JavaFX. Mov files are simply not supported.

  • Is there any way to tell what songs on my iPod are NOT in my iTunes library?

There are some songs on my iPod that are not in my current iTunes library. I ran into a problem with album artwork and may need to do a full restore. If I do this, however, the songs that are not in my library will be lost. Is there any way, through iTunes, a third-party program, or directory digging to tell if a song is not in your iTunes library?

Select the iPod in iTunes then File > Transfer purchases.
If these are not iTunes purchases, simply restore them to iTunes from the backup of your HD.

  • Files are not found in iTunes

Everything seemed fine, but after I added some new files to iTunes, the files were not found in the iTunes. What's going on??? It shows that the songs is being loaded into iTunes, but there's actually no file!!!

    hey!
i just fixed this problem on my itunes today..i was about to go insane because i am so not computer literate.
    what i did was:
    -go to your start menu.
-click search (the magnifying glass icon).
-under pics, music,or video, search for one of the songs that
is showing "file not found",exclamation pt.
-when you find what file it is under, see if more of the
    songs are in this file,too.
i got lucky,i found all of my music hiding in that file.
AND they were all in mp3 form, with the itunes symbol
(the green music icon)next to each of the songs.
the not-so-fun part was,i had to double click on each song (about 1000 songs, but i was willing to do anything after all the bs!).
this copied them to my itunes, and put a copied version next to the one with an exclamation pt.
    i hope this helps!
    good luck!

  • MOV files are not able to be synced into iPhone.

    Hi, there,
Here is how I get this problem.
I took the video on the iPhone 4, imported in Image Capture into a MacBook, so now in MacBook it is like IMG_xxxx.MOV.
Now move this file into a Windows XP, where I sync my personal stuff is. So in iTune, under the Pictures tab, Include Video was checked, and after sync, the error message says:
some video items were not copied into iPhone because these videos are not able to play on this iPhone.
it was sync ok before, after I turned on iTuen and upgrade to 10.5.3.3 today, iTune for Windows.
but the funny thing is, that MOV file was initially generated on this iPhone, how come it says it can not be playback on this iPhone?
    my iPhone is iPhone4, 5.0.1
    any suggestion/idea?
    Thanks a lot!

    Reinstall InDesign...

  • Why videos are not adding to itune

iam not able to add video mp4 files to itune.but mp3 are adding

From what source did these videos come? There are compressors that use the .mp4 filename extension but that are not industry-standard MPEG-4, so it's quite possible that these videos are in fact not a format that iTunes can play and would need to be converted. If you can tell us where these videos originated, someone may be able to confirm, or offer suggestions.
    Regards.

  • Movie files are not recognized

MacBook is from late 2007 OS X 10.5.8. Last December, I had to change harddrive and after the new harddrive, movies (from DVD´s or attachment with .mvw format) are not recognized. Quick Time Player and DVD Player are installed.
YouTube, streaming movies, news clips etc are OK
    Any hints?

    cceder,
QuickTime cannot handle all kinds of video unless you install extra tools, such as Perian:
    http://perian.org/
Alternatively, you can try VLC media player, which supports most video and audio formats.
