MP4 movies NOT TRANSFERING TO ITUNES? BT THEY ARE CORRECTLY FORMATED!!!
I NEED ALOT OF HELP PLEASE!
i converted my movies 3 different times becuase my itunes would not able me to transfer them into it. i need somebody to please hel me transfer them!
Not to rail on you I am interested in helping but you are doing it all wrong. I have had no trouble moving video onto my ipod (I think it comes from working with the PSP so heavily :D). First off you NEED to render the video 320x240 (why you would want it higher I don't know) You can do this in ffmpeg, make sure that you use the ipod for TV version, the H.264 still has synching issues on that renderer. Also make sure that your Kbps is no higher than 2500k I find that 1200 looks good enough. You can up the AAC audio to 128kbps at 44.1khz. Then you can do 2 pass rendering if you choose, it will make the final render look better ( I really don't care to do this because it IS a portable device) Also for the frame rate I use 24fps and 29.97 I think either work.
Another program that does a really good job is Handbreak, you can rip your DVD directly to the ipod format, that and it will do it in real time on my dual 1.7ghz g4.

It is up to the content owner as to when, and if, specific content is available on itunes (or any outlet for that matter). Very often a network or production compnat willhave exclusive deals with streaming outlets for a period of time before a seaon of a series is available elsewhere.
I can't speak to most of the shows you reference, but in the case of The Americans, there has only been one season so far. Season two isn't schedule for broadcast until February of next year. -
When I updated my MAC I lost all my movies from iTunes. They are still on my hard drive but will not reappear after I reset my preference in advance section. How do I fix it?
If they are still on your Mac's drive then you should be able to add them back into iTunes via File > Add To Library

Followed the directions on this page. Books are not listed among the options at step five, only movies tv shows and music, so how do I download my books then? I previously purchased two audiobooks on iTunes. They are available on my iPad, but not here.
If you go into Edit > Preferences then on the General tab on the popup that you get you should be able to select which types of content 'show' - tick the box against 'Books' :
Books then show under your 'Library' - if you select it, are those audiobooks listed there ? -
I keep getting the following message "some items (meaning all of them) were not transferred because iTunes match is enabled." when I try to drag and drop a playlist, song, or album to my iPhone. This was NEVER a problem before iTunes match or the last iOS update. So what is the deal? Why can't i just add music to my phone from the mac? There is space on the phone. The only way I have found to get the music i want to the phone is to have it download from the phone. This is not something i want to have to do: go through and manually add every album and recreate a playlist on the phone when its there on the mac. And, even more irritating, since the new update, when the phone is plugged into the mac i can't actually view from the mac what music is on the phone. This is incredibly frustrating and any help would be much appreciated in managing my music libraries for each device.

You cannot manually manage music with match turned on on your iOS device. If you want to manage music manually, you will need to turn off match on your iPhone.

You have to make sure the movie is in a format supported by iPad.

I am in tears! I have just lost all my music in my itunes and they are not located on my pc either as it's a new pc. Help PLEASE!
Did it used to be on that computer ? Your music library will only be where you put it, buying a new computer and installing iTunes on it will not put your library on it.
If you go in Edit > Preferences in your iTunes and on the Store tab tick the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tickbox then your iTunes purchased music might show in the Music part of your library with cloud icons against them for redownloading - if you've moved countries since buying the music or if it's no longer in the store then it won't show for redownloading. And check to see if you've hidden any of your purchases : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases - Apple Support
For your own music (e.g. copied from CDs) and what you can't redownload then do you still have your old computer with it on, or do you have a backup of your downloads/library, or is it on your phone ? If on your phone then there are some programs listed halfway down this page which should be able to copy it back : Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

How do I delete a movie (not bought from iTunes) and have it actually deleted from the library as well, I keep deleting stuff from iTunes to try and free up some space only to find the file still in the library?
It depends upon what preferences settings you use. Most people use default settings so when you delete an item it asks you if you want to get rid of the file too.
If iTunes absolutely refuses to get rid of the file (I have never heard of this by the way) you can always go to the media folder or wherever the file is located and drag it to the trash yourself. -

The pic sync is one way - computer to iPhone.
You should be storing all of your photos on your computer. Jut sync them to your iPhone. -
I'm on a windows laptop using iTunes sharing through the family to connect with Apple TV.
After choosing the folder of photos to be shared and displayed on the appletv and when I choose to show on screen, they are not shown in the order they are in the original folder.
How to pair show in a certain order, for example, sorted by name.

Julio CesarNot that I'm aware of. You just export JPEG copies to a folder that you can point iTunes to. For instance, I have created a folder in my Pictures folder called Apple TV. And within that folder I have other folders of pictures that I can choose from in iTunes to share with Apple TV. But there doesn't seem to be any way to share a Lightroom slideshow. If you have laid to create a video file that would probably work. Apple TV is a little clunky in my opinion. Some things are a little more difficult to do now than they were a while back. I probably haven't provided you with much help, but just keep experimenting and I think you will figure it out.

I recently deleted many duplicate files. In the midst of it my Itunes songs are not in Itunes. They are in two different folders. One under 'Music' in my ID. And two under a MyMusic file in Documents. How do I know which one to import?
Thanks, this is not an ideal answer but probably the most sensible one in my case.
I will try it unless someone has a better suggestion, but I'll wait a bit as it will take me a few days anyway (I had actually tried to create a new smaller playlist or download by album, but at this stage the music app is not letting me queue a list of songs for download - I think I will have to disable and re-enable iTunes match which will probably delete all the songs).
I have to say I am not very impressed with Apple here - having an online backup of all your data and beeing able to restore it to a new device easily was a strong selling point of iCloud. For music, they are Definitly not delivering at the stage. -

iTunes will only transfer purchases back to your computer using the iTunes > File > Transfer purchases from XXX's iPhone. It will not transfer playlists or non-purchased songs.

I am trying to import movie files into to iMovie. They are home videos so I use handbrake and VLC to put them onto the computer and convert them to MPEG-4 files. I successfully imported two of the videos but the others are not working, they are all MPEG-4 files. Now, they are not compatible. How to I get them into imovie?

They should be in the Videos app :
If they aren't in there then have you got a film age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding them ?
