  • The Slideshow mp4 file created in Lightroom does not play on an iPad

If I take a collection of images and create a sideshow in Lightroom 4 and export it as a mp4 file  using the 720p preset and put it at a website, the file works fine with various Windows computers and android devices but does not play in an iPad.  If I take that same mp4 file and run it through Adobe Premier Elements 12 to produce a new  720p mp4 file, that mp4 file plays fine in the iPad.
Anyone know the reason for this and how to create a 720p file that will play in the iPad in LIghtroom?

Don't know if this will help, but you might want to check your mp4 files against this :-

I have both a Yoga and a Thinkpad 2. The Yoga is running Win 8 and the Thinkpad 2 has 8.1 Preview.
I have copied multiple video files which are in either .avi or .mp4 containers.
Some will play and some will not. I have installed all sorts of codec packages and players and the problem is the same. I though it might be a container problem so I tried to convert the file and the converter I used did not work.
Searched the Internet and nothing really useful was found.
Then I discovered a common thread. In the files that played, the codec information displayed when checking in properties and the ones that did not play, did not have the information.
I have a video file on a USB flash drive and checked the properties and the information was there and I could play it from the flash drive. I copied it to my desktop and the file would not play. In checking, the codec information was not present.
There seems to be an error in copying files where the requisite codec information is not being transferred.
I have tried this multiple times and multiple permutations of transferring. Sometimes it will play from the desktop and will not play after transfer to the microSD card.
Each time when it plays, the information is there and each time it does not play, the information is not there.

The problem is the period at the end. This system assumes it
to be part of the url. I should have put a space and the end of the
url before using a period to close the sentence. try this one:
    http://www.aaew.org/intro.swf
    http://www.scofieldministries.org/webtest/mv1.swf

Please note that just the home page and supporting files have
been loaded to the test server.

  • Quick time does not play in windows home 7 premium

when i try to open a video in a certain website, my browser stops working, and the website closes out. i was able to successfully download quicktime 7.6.9, but it does not play the video in my browser. i also downloaded safari and that does not work. i have a pentium R dual-core CPU [email protected]

This problem is usually associated with an mpeg-1 that has a bad timecode due to being incorrectly merged from shorter mpegs. Often this freeware will repair it if you use the timecode correction item in the menu. Mpeg StreamClip
Another alternative is to view the mpeg with this freeware viewer, which is not as picky about files meeting standards: VLC

  • Itunes does not play on windows 8

All of my songs were backed up on an external hard drive, but when I loaded them onto my windows 8 computer after authorizing that computer, it does not play the songs.

itunes is still not compactible with windows 8, so wait for some ime till new version of itunes launches which is compactible with windows 8.

  • Video behind http authentication does not play in Safari on iOS8.

Videos (quicktime and probably others) that are sitting behind http authenticated sites do not play properly in IOS8. This is true even with the new 8.0.2. When clicking on the mov file, Safari starts the integrated player (the player with the play button), but nothing plays and you can't press the play button.
Since I have access to the Apache web server that serves up the video, I can see what's happening on the backend. I see that Safari or the iOS video player Safari starts up fails to pass the authentication credentials to the server. I see a bunch of http 401 error messages (failed authentication) in the logs. When moving the same video to a not authenticated site, iOS8 does the right thing.
iOS7 (and before) and Safari on OSX does the right thing on authenticated sites. It authenticates properly with the server and plays the video.
Chrome on iOS8 also doesn't work either. Safari and Chrome use different versions of webkit, so I'm assuming its the video player that the browsers call on that's not passing the authentication off to the web server when making the http request.
Anyone else run into this problem or have a workaround? I reported this as a bug, but Apple hasn't acknowledged it yet.

I also have the same Exact Problem, only your explanition appears more technical and understandable. This problem appears more severe on YouTube.com videos and alike, however it is also severly choppy and problematic on other sites. Surprisingly Live Broadcast videos work better than not Live videos, however this is not something I'd like when my data isn't throttled yet. I crosstested it to see if there is any issues on my iPhone 4S (iOS 6, last version) and Galaxy S4 (Android Kit Kat, last version on S4) and there is no issues on those devices so it is an iOS 8(+0.1/0.2) and iOS 8.1 problem and I am 100% confident about it.
I do think it is the video player's problem with Websites and Webstreaming. There is no problems playing music videos on my device's storage. I didn't get that many error messages but it just doesn't play properly on Safari and Chrome, like what you are experiencing too. I may go ahead and report it too because it is gotten to a point where it is annoying to watch videos. It is not just an over 4G (+ or - LTE) only issue, it is also via Wifi even so it is a tad better. I can't tolerate playing a video 15 seconds in, have to wait 15 more seconds for it to play, it plays to 0:35 then I have to wait 15 more seconds. Even a 240p video, it does it so, it is clearly not a tolerable bug. I don't have a work around so far (tried everything from reset to wipe the phone and reinstall all the apps).
My Device is an iPhone 6+ with iOS 8.1 (yes, it is not just exclusive to the iPhone 5S. I assume it also effects the iPhone 6 based on technical specifications).

  • Video created in Garageband does not play in dropbox

    Hello,
I am pulling out my hair trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I created a video that I shot playing my drums using a camcorder and also recorded sound with my ipad. I placed all in Garageband. I also included a third music clip from my itunes library.
I exported it to itunes after I was done and it plays perfectly in itunes and QT player no problem.
However, when I upload to dropbox, just my movie with the original shot sound plays not the added music clips.
Note: I've always been succesful using just imovie to do all this but got frustrated with adding multiple sound clips and synching them.  I found that it is much easier arranging the sound clips in GB.
But if don't work, it's no good.
Can anybody tell me what I can try? I can provide more detail if needed.
    Thanks.

    Ok.
As I mentioned, I learned that it was much easier to align various sound clips in GB than trying to do this in iMovie.
So after making a project, I sent it to itunes exported as "Full Quality" and it played nicely in itunes.
But playing it outside of itunes, the video had my original footage and sound but did not play my added sound clips.
So this time I exported as "ipod" and everything was contained.
Maybe someone smarter than I can say why this is? I just wanted the best possible quality.  That's why I chose full quality.
I think that I should have been given a warning that said something like "choosing this format will result in a loss of added sound clips" or something like it.  This would have saved me hours of experimenting.
But anyway I'm good for now.

  • Video in Flash player does not play in C6

I have purchased Nokia C6-00, but in this phone videos do not play in Flash player. It gives me warning message that flash player required to play this video. On flash player site, it is mentioned that android 2.2 is required to install Flash player on your mobile.
How is it possible to play video in flash player on Nokia C6-00?

Symbian anna (new software version) update is available for C6-01 and C7 but there is no software update for C6-00 (with QWERTY keypad).
I am eagrly waiting for software update for C6-00. At least to provide support of FLASH LITE 4.0 so that flash video can be played on C6-00 handset.
I am facing one more problem with Skype utility on C6-00. I have installed latest Skype version on my mobile but even with 3.5G network speed, Skype login does not work.
When ever I sign-in on Skype, it will become idle in between signing process and nothing is happened and after frustration I have to close Skype application.

  • Video sent by email does not play on desktop

Hello. My service provider is Verizon. And clearly after a long call, they do not know the answer.
They walked me through a lengthy reprogram of my Storm 9530, which accomplished nothing.
When I send via email these .3GP videos made by the Storm, the video is not able to play on the desktop pc, after double-clicking.  Manually selecting on Windows Media Player does not work, either. There is obviously a compatiblity issue.  So the question is, how does one make .3GP videos compatible for play on a standard windows desktop?  It does no good to be able to email, if the recipient cannot view.  Thank you in advance.

I have managed to get the video to play.

  • Music Videos - have sound but video does not play in windows 7

I have windows 7 and the latest version of Itunes.
Most everything seems to be working ok, but when i try to play a music video i get the sound ok, but the video never starts, it just seems to stay on the first screen shot and never changes, even when the next video starts.

Not sure why, assume you got the 32-bit version if that is what you run, and this is quicktime? maybe you need a different codec or application for the movie format; or didn't associate the file type...
but if it deals with iTunes you will find more help in iTunes Windows:

  • Uploaded mp4 from my phone but does not play in Quicktime Player

I recorded a video with my Pantech Matrix phone and exported it to my computer. I double click the file or use the "open with" and an error message pops up saying document can not be opened. I try opening with ITunes or IMovie and the programs itself are opened but not my video.
I just bought my MacBook Pro in March so everything should be relatively updated. I CAN watch the same video in Windows Media Player on my PC... please help.

There are many, many video formats and frankly most manufacturers assume everybody is running Windows and just design for that. Some things to try:
[VLC media player|http://www.videolan.org/vlc> - general media player that plays just about anything.
[Perian codecs for Quicktime|http://www.perian.org] - plugins to add functionality to Quicktime for playing additional audio and video formats
[Quicktime audio problems, Perian, VLC|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9013669] - read note about uninstalling prior DIVX support before installing Perian.
If you think the format is WMV then you need to install [Free Flip4mac QuickTime player components|http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.ms px]
After installation a new Flip4Mac pane will appear in System Preferences. Make sure you set the boxes to ensure that it will play WMV files in Quicktime.

  • Video on particular websites does not play.

Video doesn't play on sites like Fox.Com. I don't get a warning, pop up or the like. They do, however, play on Maxthon and other browsers. I cleared by cache, reinstalled and all the other typical hullabaloo to no avail.

  • Video of Some Events Will Not Play in Window at Top Right

Some of my events that show on the bottom half of the screen do not appear at all in the top right video block when they are playing, no matter whether I try to play them from the bottom half or if I first stick them into a project. Other events from the same camcorder work just fine.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

    Some thoughts in random order
    1. Do you see a yellow triangle by the event name?
    2. Have you tried rebooting your Mac?
    3. Have you moved any events in the Finder?
    4. Do the event names have any odd characters like : or /?
    5. What kind of clips are these? What kind of camcorder?
    6. Has iMovie asked you to optimize clips?

  • DVD DOES NOT PLAY - WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER OR VLC PLAYER

I have Windows 8 64-bit OS with latest updates. I tried to play a Zumba fitness DVD, however, it does not play in Windows Media Player or VLC player. I receive an error, Unknown Disk. Other DVDs do play.
I tried to play the DVD in Linux (Videos) and I also received an error, however, I could easily resolve the problem here as it was determined that the disk is protected and I downloaded the fix for Linux.
How do I resolve the problem in Windows?
    Kind regards.

    Hello,
    I found a solution here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-pictures/cant-play-copy-protected-dvds-anymore/44c8f028-212f-4ef4-900f-984e763e1c00
    I posted the information here:
This is could be due to the DRM (Digital Rights Management). Let’s try these steps and check if it helps.
    Rename the DRM folder:
    Step 1:
    a. Start Windows Explorer. To do this, press Windows key + E from desktop.
    b. Click on View and place a check mark on Hidden items.
    Step 2:
Locate the DRM folder on the computer. Typically, the DRM folder is located in the following location.
    a. C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\DRM (where C:\ is the system drive).
    b. If you are not able to rename the DRM folder because of Access Denied error, you will have to take permission of the folder.
Refer to this section "Issue 2: I'm unable to access, edit, save, or delete files and folders" from this link to give proper permission to the folder.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2623670/en-us
    Steps 3:
    Reset the DRM security component.
To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site, and then follow the steps to upgrade the DRM security component:
    http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp?force=1
