Some variants do have Viber onboard.
Do you have that Viber app at all, or are you looking for that app?

  • Mp4 videos on asha 305

I updated the software of my nokia Asha 305 to 7.42 which is till now its latest version. But I am unable to view Mp4 videos on my mobile. How can I overcome this PROBLEM.

@Thomas100 this thread is about videos. Because you posted a second message in a Nokia Music aka MixRadio thread, are you about videos or music? If you are about music, are you about the Nokia Music Store in your Nokia 305? Or do you use another phone model? If so, please, tell us which phone model you use. Then, we are able to address your issue at best.

  • Converting and compressing mp4 video for iBook Author

I'm working on an iBook on Propaganda in WW II and would like to include loads of videos.
The Internet Archive has a great collection:
Example: "Out of the Frying Pan Into the Firing Line (1942)"
    http://archive.org/details/OutOfTheFryingPanIntoTheFiringLine
Most are in mp4 format.  I have tried bringing the mp4 into QT or iMovie and both seem to do about the same job of converting. Plus they increase file size by about 50%
    Primary question
I'm targeting my iBook as a free resource for schools. File size is an issue for school iPads that might be 16 GB. Is there anyway to reduce file size, without losing quality? I saw some discussions about Compressor, but that seems to be designed for Final Cut Pro and I'm not a video expert.
    Secondary question:
Is there any way to improve the quality of these old videos. Perhaps there are some settings I'm missing in QT or iMovie??
I'm an instructional design guy - not a video guy. Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated ... especially in  laymen's terms.
    Thanks

I'm keeping a "Working with IBA" collection at Scoop.it.
    http://www.scoop.it/t/publishing-with-ibooks-author
I posted a link to this discussion ... and I received a comment (at Scoop.it) from Frank Lowney that's interesting. I don't have Pages, but I may get it try this out. (cheaper than Compressor!)
    Frank comments:
"Strange but apparently true. I downloaded a 320x240 *.mp4 file from the Internet Archive and compressed it with the latest version of Handbrake using the iPhone/iPod touch preset. The result was 2.6 MB smaller that what I had downloaded. As predicted, iBooks Author rejected it suggesting I use QuickTime X Player. I did that using the iPod touch/iPhone 3GS preset but the result was a whopping 21.9 MB larger!
Let's remember that the sole target of what iBooks Author outputs is iBooks on the iPad, nothing else.
Next, I use Pages to create an *.epub file with the Handbrake encoded movie in it. Guess what? It plays just fine in iBooks!
    So something is fishy here."

  • Any mp4 updates for Audition?

I could not find a recent answer or update to this question in the previous discussions. If I read correctly, AA does not natively support importing mp4 video for audio sweetening and/or fixes. If a fix is available I missed the info and apologize in advance.
Is there a simple reliable plug-in to be had? I have some HDV video that could really benefit from some Audition help. I tried to import it from 5.5 Premiere Pro-to-Audition, but no luck. Making a copy of the video's audio in some audio format and then trying to sync it afterward defeats the concept of round trip workflow. Worse, it's incredibly inefficient. I've read long discussions about various baling wire and chewing gum patches which may or may not work, involving Nero and other programs.
Does Adobe have a fix? A recommended third party fix? If not, why not? HDV is still widely used and there are times when Premiere Pro could benefit from Audition help for run-and-gun video.

I'm surprised no one has yet answered this for you.
I think you'll find that if you download and install Apple/s free Quicktime, and restart Audition, that it will then read in  mp4 files.
This is the normal way for Audition to work - it uses Quicktime's codecs for this.
You'll want to be aware that mp4 is a compressed format, so the usual cautions about re-saving in a compressed format apply.

  • Options for iTunes library - quickly growing with mp4 videos

    Hello all,
Here is my dilemma. I have a large library of MP4 videos (movies) in my iTunes library, which is growing daily. These are not iTunes purchases. I plan to unload these files to an external HDD. Home Sharing is the main reason why I use iTunes for my Movie library to begin with.
Here is my dilemma. I cannot, to my knowledge, run a partially referenced iTunes library- where Music is automatically copied to the iTunes Media folder, but Videos are not (but rather referenced on the external hard drive).
    1) Is there any way around this besides unchecking "automatically copy to iTunes folder" everytime I add a Video to my iTunes Library
    2) Would I be better off creating two seperate iTunes libraries? One for the referenced video files on the EHD and one for my music, which I want to remain on my internal drive.
    3) Any other plausible solutions?
I hope I'm being clear. Just looking for the best plan of action. Thanks in advance

    1) Is there any way around this besides unchecking "automatically copy to iTunes folder" everytime I add a Video to my iTunes Library
No, not automatically, not with how iTunes presently works.
    2) Would I be better off creating two seperate iTunes libraries? One for the referenced video files on the EHD and one for my music, which I want to remain on my internal drive.
No.  I used to think it would but at least with my old iTunes version any libraries made in my user account share the same single user preferences. Unless you disable the "automatically copy to" feature I am pretty sure either library will put the items in the same media folder because they both use the one set of preferences settings.  You can check this by making a second test library but don't add anything to it.  Then check advanced preferences from yur main library and this test library and see if they point to the same media folder.
    3) Any other plausible solutions?
Do it the way Michael Allbritton outlines, or leave it set to organize automatically but put the movies on the external drive, then add them back while holding down the option key.  This overrides the copy-to function.
Note, splitting media storage this way will work but has disadvantages.  If links break for any reason, iTunes will not automatically search for ones that are not part of its media folder organization.  If you need to move files to a different drive in the future it will be somewhat tricky as you are likely to end up with a lot of broken links.  There may be ways to avoid this but it won't be automatic.

  • Random selections of mp4 videos won't sync, convert for iPhone option in iTunes comes up with unknown error 2002, help please!

I've been having massive issues copying mp4 video files onto my iPhone 4 from my windows 7 (64 bit) pc.
I converted a large number of avi files into mp4 using aiseesoft movie converter and most of them work just fine.
However about a quarter of the files with no Obvious difference in size and converted the same way will not sync.
Instead a message appears saying these cannot be played on the iPhone.
Also when then trying to use the iTunes convert for iPhone function It fails for unknown error 2002.
Any help on why this is happening and how to stop it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

When the videos are in the Movie library, try using the Create IPod and iPhone Version in the Afvanced tab of iTunes.

  • My "Saved-for-iPod" mp4 video stops, while audio continues...

This has recently happened both with saving iMovie HD 6.0.4 projects as mp4s, and for DVD. 1) In iMovie, I imported a .mov I made in iPhoto (slideshow with jpegs & added music). Just that one file. I then saved it for iPod. I played it in iTunes, and the first minute is fine, but then the video "freezes" while the audio continues. Same thing happened when I synched it to my iPod. 2) In iMovie, I imported 5 avi files and added dissolve transitions. Sent to iDVD 6.0.4 and made a DVD. Same thing. The video image freezes at some point, and audio continues. I previously made DVDs successfully, by importing avi files to iMovie HD 6.0.2 & adding transitions. I can't figure out what could be wrong. Any help is appreciated.

I have the iPod Touch 32GB and my video podcasts do the same thing. The video portion just freezes randomly but the audio continues on. This happens with a variety of video podcasts on my Touch. Very annoying and unacceptable for unit in this price range. I would love to see a solution to this problem!

  • Best settings for editing MP4 videos in Pre9?

    Hello!
I have some MP4 video's that I wish to edit.
When I edit them and try and save them, I am struggling to find the best settings to use.
If I try making them Pal DVD widescreen the motion is very jerky.
If I use H264 wide screen the file is enormous.
For example the mp4 is 1Gb, when edited and saved as H264 the file is 18.4Gb.
    Any one have any suggestions?
    Cheers.

  • Is DVD Creator good for burning MP4 video to dvd to view on TV

Is DVD Creator by Aimersoft good for burning MP4 video to dvd to view on TV?

I tried the trial and found the theme/menu option too simple to interest me, so I deleted it. I use iDVD to add some pizzazz to my movies and then either burn it with iDVD or Roxio Toast. As for burning mp4: you might need to check on that - as far as I know, movies need to be in an mpeg-2 format to be able to play on a regular DVD player - the apps I use automatically create the correct format.

Where can I download short mp4 video clips to put into garage band for my students to put soundtracks to?

Theres a program called Bluestacks app player which when installed gives you an Android enviroment to be able to download apps etc and use/play them on a Pc from this you can then install an app which can create a backup of the app in apk format for transfer to a mobile or tablet etc for installation via your file manager app

  • AIR for iOS.. best strategy to play 100MB+ MP4 videos?

    Hey all,
Is anyone able to play a 100MB+ MP4 on iPad1? Whether StageVideo, StageWebView, etc? StageVideo starts to bog to death at about half way (netStatus reports buffer empties and it never regains). Trying to URLLoader download crashes the app (trying to play it local). StageWebView crashes outright. Standard NC/NS/Viideo classes fail to even start playing.
100MB just too tall of an order for iPad1?
Even loading the mp4 directly in safari on 50mbit inet/wifi N can't keep up. iPad2/3 works perfectly.
    I used Madagascar 3 trailer recompressed to 1024x576 @ 23.976 MainConcept MP4 to test.
Does your iPad1 load and play this smoothly in safari?
    http://www.filehorde.com/o/1.mp4
    Thanks for tips.
Note: What isn't working is buffer events. If I check buffer length its always 0. I do get an empty event but unlike a PC where I can throw up a buffering message and pause playback, iOS just goes unresponsive. I can't recover.

    Thanks for trying it.
That particular MP4 was encoded using a trial version of Adobe Media Encoder CS6. I don't have CS6 or access to it at the moment but I always otherwise use Sorenson Squeeze (8.5 atm). It encodes MP4s using MainConcept H.264 and AAC audio.
AME6 encoded that test video I have linked with H.264 as well (not sure who's codec) and AAC at a data rate of 6Mb/s. That's a very aggressive movie but that's what I wanted, to test the max limits.
Anyhow point is, it plays just fine on the iPad1 up until about half way using StageVideo. So yes, you can play H.264 over HTTP, it doesn't need to be local.
Unfortunately all I've been able to do to solve my problems is use smaller resolution video and compress it a ton more. It's amazing how I almost can't break the iPad2 (forget 3) but the iPad1 breaks every time even with a tiny 40MB video.
