MP8 and WebEx

If we need to do only Internal Collaboration using MP8, I understand that we'll need a Web-Ex Node, but would we have to purchase a WebEx contract or incur any WebEx-related monthly charges?

Yes. A WebEx Node for Cisco MCS only extends the WebEx cloud to your premises; it is literally a member of the MediaTone network. Your Cisco AM or partner should assist you in this decision process. One option in this scenario would be to purchase a WebEx contract using the port-based model. In that scenario you may purchase internal (inside the firewall that attach to the cloud via the local node) or external ports (outside the firewall participants that attach to the cloud via a WebEx data center).

  • Jabber and webex integration

    Hello everyone,
We're trying to integrate meeting place and webex with our presence service to allow Jabber and CUP users to use all of the available features we have.
We're having some issues to get webex up and running because we're getting a "The WebEx meeting account is invalid" message everytime we try to access from jabber.
If I go to meeting center I can successfully log in using the same credentials I'm using on jabber so I don't understand why it says the account is invalid.
This issue happens for all of the users. Have anyone seen this behaviour already?
    Thanks!!

We use Meeting Center rather than Meeting Place but I think the authentication is similar. The problem I had was since we use Meeting Center (cloud WebEx) and do not use SSO the accounts are different. Once the Not Set "Source for Web Conferencing" was configured, I was able to goto the client (Mac Jabber 8.6.2 in this case) and enter my credentials in Preferences -> Accounts -> Meetings

  • Jabber for Windows 9.1 and WebEx Voicemail Tab

    Guys
we are using both Jabber for Windows (9.1) and WebEx connect clients. both connect to WebEx cloud services. when we use WebEx connect we have all features including voicemail but when we use Jabber for Windows there isnt any voicemail option at all present.
both are doing phone integration and everything else is working fine.
Now when we do the same for our andriod tablets we have the option for voicemail.
i  understand that there are several feature differences but based on the searches ive been doing, voicemail should be present and i havent actually seen anyone having this problem. Note, this is using WebEx not CUPS.
i know im probably missing something completely here.
    thanks again

Do these users all have a conferencing profile assigned to them in CUCM (9.0) or CUPS (8.x)?
    Regards,
    Erik

  • Meeting place 8.0 and WebEx Node Integration issue.

    Hello All,
We have installed MP 8.x and Webex node on seperate servers. After this we have installed a webserver.exe and sql server on a different server and configured the GatewaySIM and sql. connectivity is fine.
    1. Please let us know how to login to MP user portal. (What is the URL)
    2. How to integrate Webex with MP?
    3. Is there a good document to bring up the webex web interface.
    Regards,
    Shaijal

    Take a look at http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Cisco_Unified_MeetingPlace_Release_8.0_--_Integrating_Cisco_Unified_MeetingPlace_with_Cisco_WebEx
That has all the information I used to eventually get the MP WebEx integration to work for us.
If you have problems you may struggle to get a good answer from Cisco on this, unfortunately there is very little knowledge of WebEx within Cisco TAC, something they badly need to address.

  • BE 3000 with Jabber (for Mac) and webex connect integration problems

    Hi,
This is my first question on the forum so please be gentle!
I have a customer who has a Business Edition 3000 and they have purchased WebEx connect and Jabber integration to go with it.
My problem is I am having difficulty getting the setup to work and I have a number of questions on how to set this up.  Most of the docs on Cisco's website seem to be related to either CUCME or full CUCM, but not a lot on BE 3000.  My questions are below:
    1.  I have been reading the documentation for WebEx connect and it states to set the IP address of the BE 3000 server in the Configuration>Additional Services>Unified Communications>Voicemail tab.  This is currently on the network with a 192.168.x.x address however.  My predecessor put this IP address in the WebEx configuration page but I'm not sure this will work with a private IP as I don't know how this communicates back.  The documentation isn't very clear on this.  Does this have to be a public IP address / FQDN for it to work?
    2.  Are there any SRNDs for this type of setup that could help?  Again, looking through the website hasn't turned anything up yet.
    Note:
we are using the following software:
    Jabber for MAC:
    uc-client-mac-8.6.7.20127.fcs.zip
    MAC OS:
    OSX 10.8.3
    BE 3000:
    MCS7890C1-BE8
    8.6.4.10000-15.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Regards,
    Jason

Hi - I have done this via the admin portal but still cannot get the Jabber client for Mac to register for voice.  The Windows version works fine for the same user and CUCM device.   Are there any other settings that need to be enabled specific to the Mac client?
    Thanks.

  • Jabber 9.1.2 missing DLL's with Win8 64bit and WebEx Connect

I realize that Windows 8 is not yet listed as supported operating system for Cisco Jabber for Windows, but I would like to make it work anyway I am trying to use Cisco Jabber for Windows 9.1.2 on Windows 8 with WebEx Connect. I am able to log in and IM just fine, but when I attempt to launch an Instant WebEx Meeting the first time, I receive the error
"WebEx Meeting is unavailable. Unable to connect to WebEx meeting server. Please try again later."
However, for any subsequent attempt to launch an Instant WebEx Meeting, I receive three errors in this order:
    1) The program can't start because atWbxUI14.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
    2) The program can't start because ATKBCTL.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
    3) WebEx Meeting is unavailable. Unable to connect to WebEx meeting server. Please try again later.
In both cases (fresh install and subsequent attempts) I receive an email letting me know that my meeting is in progress. So, I know that it has connected to meeting center and set up the meeting. It just can't seem to launch the WebEx interface. I have no problems launching WebEx by any other method that I have tried (e.g., Productivity Tools, from a browser, or if I uninstall Jabber and install the WebEx Connect client).
    Has anyone seen this one?

I had actually tried that already, but just for kicks I did it again. Webex Connect was not installed. I uninstalled anything that had the word webex in it. I uninstalled Cisco Jabber. I went through C:\ProgramData and C:\Users\[username]\AppData\, and I deleted anything that had the words Webex or Jabber. I rebooted the computer, I installed Cisco Jabber. I rebooted the computer again before starting the application. Then I went into meetings and clicked "Instant WebEx Meeting." It gets to the point where it is installing the webex plugin. Once the WebEx plugin installion completes, I get the same error as before.
Since Windows 8 is not listed as a fully supported operating system for Cisco Jabber for Windows, I suppose this kind of thing is to be expected. I was just hoping that maybe someone had found a work around.

  • Configure Jabber for Mac with local CUCM and WebEx Connect

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has been able to configure the Jabber for Mac 8.6.2 client to use the WebEx Connect presence server with a local CUCM and Unity Connection servers. The preferences accounts tab does not show or allow the addition of the voice services. I have added from a working local CUCM preferences plist file what I believe are the correct entries however I still cannot see the accounts on the preferences tab. We currently do not have a local cisco presence server hence the requirement to trial the WebEx Connect server as I can't get past the first configuration step without it.
    regards

  • Has anyone solved the Yosemite and WebEx issue

Ever since upgrading to Yosemite, my WebEx service has become unstable, I get varying issues from complete failure to connect, to bouncing WebEx icon on my tray, through to occasional connectivity.  This issue seems to be well known, certainly within my office I am not alone with this issue. Apparently, there is an issue with Pac files and how Yosemite interacts.  Has anyone found a fix for this ?

So why won't my password work?
    A quote from another thread:
"Long story short the Apple Genius Bar rep told me that they KNOW it's a software flaw, but unfortunately, they have no way to fix it, other than restoring my phone to factory settings" (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3407403?start=15&tstart=0)
I am not the only one with this problem. I was hoping someone had a solution or even a helpful suggestion.

  • URGENT: FaceTime and WebEx

Hi All, I have an online meeting to attend tomorrow, and the host asked if I have a webcam.  Will FaceTime on my iMac (Lion) work with WebEx as a webcam? If not, how can I make it work? I have Java runtime installed, and am able to access the WebEx meeting login page (using the web link provided by the host) without any problems, but I don't know whether and how I will be able to make the other participants see me when the meeting starts.  Any advice?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    I am experiencing the same symptoms, iMac late 2013, i5, 24GB DDR3, ~3000 contacts.
Please reply if you indentified the cause/ remedy - I confirm that it became an issue only updating to 10.10.3
    Thanks,

  • SPA112 and Webex (DTMF issue)

When I try to join a Webex, and have the system call me on my VoIP line through my SPA112, it seems that the * key is not recognized.  I can use the phone to interact with other menu systems, such as my bank.  But for some reason, I can't get into a Webex without dialing manually into the conference.
I use Vitelity as my SIP provider.  They support G.711u, G.711a, and G.729a codecs.  They prefer RFC2833 for DTMF Tx method, but I've also had success in the past with inband.
I should also mention that I've had sporadic luck getting into Webex in the past with this same configuration using the SPA112 with G.729a and Inband (though that really shouldn't work consistently because of the compression).
Just as a troubleshooting step, I tried calling the VoIP line from another phone to make sure I could hear the * key.  I could hear it, even when I was using ATV (RFC2833) which I didn't think was going to be the case.  However, I don't seem to be able to control the length of the tone - though I have no idea whether the length is a problem or not.
At the moment, I'm trying to generate a log from the SPA112 that would include the DTMF tones.  Can anyone help me with the right settings so that I can see these in my log?  Thanks.

Just turn on syslog and debug to the highest level possible, send the messages to an external server and catch them all here (with either a syslogd server software or by a generic packet catcher like tcpdump or Wireshark). There is no more detailed log possible.
You can catch SIP packets and RTP stream (just the part with DTMF) as well.

  • T420 and webex

Recently started using a new T420 having had a T410 for about a year or so.  I am a regular user of Webex to host sessions or present stuff from my machine and had no issues with my 410.  I just tried to host for the first time using my new T420 with the Nvidia NVS 4200 souped up card and when I share either a specific application or my desktop all the audience sees is basically a black screen.
Anyone else encountered, and hopefully resolved, this?

    hey markbat420,
    welcome to the forum.
i have not seen this issue before, but i'll try to help. First up, could you uninstall the graphic driver from your unit.
let windows install its generic driver and then try the webex again. see if it works with generic drivers.
later go to http://support.lenovo.com and download the graphic driver for your unit, install and test webex again.
    any difference ?
Also, check with Cisco Webex (i think this is the developer) if they have any issue with the Nvidia NVS 4200 card.

  • Meeting Place and Webex Call Back Failing

    Hi
Meeting place 8.5 with WebEx scheduling, SIP trunk to CUCM 8.5.
Calling in using the specified number configured in call manager completes over the SIP trunk however call back from webex fails.
    Error:
WebEx call back failed; no answer.
Problem is I never recieve a call. I have enabled Webex call backs in webex.
Seems like there is an issue on either MP or CUCM.
Just looking for some ideas as I am stumped.

This turned out to be a few things:
    1) I needed to configure a SIP proxy to CUCM from meeting place. This was the CUCM IP address and TCP port number.
    2) The SIP trunk security profile needed to be reconfigured for this trunk.
    3) E164 was being used so I created a translation pattern to strip the + for the CSS associated with the RP.
A few things learned along the way.
    1) The "activity" command ran from a SSH prompt with allow you to simulate a call from meeting place. Option 4, enter the number to dial and "f" for port.
    2) In meeting place - Services -Logs - System Information Capture - Loading the index file and under the  CCA SIP LOG is the error being returned by CUCM. In my case it was Warning: 399 CSLCCM1 "Unable to find a device handler for the request received on port
    3) Command "cptrace" again from the SSH prompt will allow you to view the digits being sent from webex to meeting place.
I hope this information helps someone...

    Hi experts,
My question is probably too simple but .....

    I have 2 systems :
    - 1 BW 7.0 ABAP stack only
    - 1 BI 7.0 JAVA standalone
I have configure UME and Webex between the two systems.
For testing, I use internet explorer on the portal...It's OK.
But consultants wants to use a "WAD 7.0"...
What i would like to know :
    - WAD could connect directly on the ABAP BW ? Or throw the BI 7.0 JAVA?
    - In case they could connect directly to the ABAP, a BI JAVA was necessary? SP 07  for abap STACK?
    Last question :
In my Bi portal user from abap stack are created by UME (from abap)  but tkey don't have any permissions...This is normal or my user mapping is wrong?
Thanks for your help in this new world for me.

  • WebEx Named Host and Port Options

    Hello,
Whats he diffrence between WEBEX NAMED HOST and WEBEX PORT OPTION. And do they requrie any hardware to function with?
a documetation with explanations will help more.
    Regards,
    Peter.

Named Host is where you specify which users can host a meeting. Those people are the only ones who can schedule/create meetings but they can transfer the host role to another person after the meeting has started. Ports on the other hand only limit the total meeting participants across all hosts (the host also consumes a port). You can create as many hosts as you need but total attendance at any one time cannot exceed your ports. There are also per-minute options and active host options where only an unnamed percentage of the organization is assumed to be a host and you true-up if real usage exceeds that percentage.
It's probably best to speak with a Cisco or WebEx AM over the options. Different usage styles lend themselves to different licensing options. Here's a data sheet though:

    Hello Nick,
I appreciate your questions, and will try to answer them below.
When you are installing a fresh new MeetingPlace 8.5 that you plan to integrate with WebEx, the only available option is WebEx Managed user profiles. With this option, you can either create profiles manually on WebEx side, and then sync them to MeetingPlace, or you can use Federated SSO for import of profiles from LDAP server in your network to WebEx, and then sync the profiles from WebEx to MeetingPlace (you choose one of these two options when provisioning WebEx site).
These are the only two available options for a NEW install of MP8.5 for WebEx integration, and as you can see both options are WebEx Managed profiles, the only difference is if you are going to use Federated SSO, or create profiles on WebEx manually.
During the install, you can select to install MeetingPlace managed users option, but you would choose this option only if you plan to do a migration from an earlier MP release (7.x/8.0) with WebEx integration and Directory Integration.
For example, MeetingPlace managed profiles option is available if you had MeetingPlace 8.0 integrated with WebEx Type II (WebEx scheduling) with Directory Integration, where you had your MP8.0 integrated with CUCM via AXL for user profile management (CUCM integrated with LDAP), and your WebEx Site provisioned for Directory Integration, and then migrate from that system to MeetingPlace 8.5 that you installed selecting MeetingPlace managed user profiles.
The same goes for MeetingPlace Scheduling (Type I) integration with WebEx. Possible only with migration, and not with a fresh new installation.
Now, to focus on your questions.
    1. As you can see, you don't have many options. If you have MS Active Directory that you would like to use for SSO in MP8.5 WebEx Scheduling, you will have to go with Federated SSO. So far, I haven't heard of any issues with that as it seems to be pretty straight forward to configure, and also WebEx Support team provides direct support for that setup as it is a direct integration between WebEx Site and the LDAP server (nothing to do with MeetingPlace side of the equation).
    2. In general, if you have Federated SSO enabled, you would go to WebEx site home page, click on Host Log In button which will then ask you to enter your network/windows credentials and place you to WebEx scheduling interface.
If you have Directory Integration (like on MP8.0 WebEx Type II with CUCM/AXL integration), when you go to WebEx site home page and click Host Log In button, you are being redirected to the MeetingPlace log-in page where you would enter your Windows credentials (assuming your CUCM is integrated with LDAP), and then if log in is successful, you get redirected back to WebEx scheduling interface. With this type of deployment, you can log in to WebEx scheduling interface ONLY if you are connecting from your company network or have a VPN connection to your company network. This is a major limitation that most customers complained about, but the reason for this was that we didn't want to make MP Application server hostname/IP publicly available and hence cause a security issue.
I am sure I answered your questions, but opened some new questions. So, please, let me know if I need to clarify anything.
    Thank you.
