Mpci wireless for Satellite 2410-603

Hi, i just bought mpci card (Intel PRO/Wireless 2915abg) and now i wonder how to connect it. There are two wires in the mpci slot - white and black, and there are two pins on the card - main and aux. Which goes where? Thanks!

Hi
As far as I know white cable goes to the MAIN and a black to the AUX. Please check if card is recognized and installed properly. The status is shown in device manager. The wireless card should be listed under Network adapters

  • Service manual for Satellite 2410-603

    Hello,
I have satellite 2410-603 model of laptop. And wanted to open it for changing display hinge. So if you could help me I will be very great full. I mean just tell where i can get the hardware maintenance manual for the same model. Else is there video available so that i open the laptop........? Help me.

    Hi!
Service manuals that you mean are not public and only for ASPs (authorized service provider).
You can search with Google to find instructions how to disassemble this notebook. Maybe you will find something.
To be honest if you dont have experience with notebook disassembling ask a technician for help. This is a little bit tricky.

    Hi
As far as I know the wireless card is optional on this unit. This means that you can upgrade your notebook with the miniPCI wireless card which you can put into the wireless slot.
    You can use these cards:
Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card (2,4GHz, 802.11a/b) PA3273U-1MPC
Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card (2,4GHz, 802.11b) PA3212U-1MPC

  • Need SD TypA Controller specification for Satellite 2410-303

    Hi,
at the moment we are working on QNX driver for SD controller. This device is integrated in my notebook - Satellite 2410-303 model.
SD controller is visible by O/S as:
Vendor ID = 1179h, Toshiba America Info Systems
Device ID = 805h, SD TypA Controller
Where can I find specification of this controller?
    Regards,
    Jacek

    Hi Jacek
As Silas already said this is a user-to-user forum and I assume you need some details which are not available in the user manual.
To be honest I doubt the ASP could help you but of course its worth a try to contact the technicians
My first idea was a usage of some hardware diagnostic programs like Everest for example Maybe such programs could help you too.
    Good luck

  • Fan for Satellite 2410-404

    Hello Everyone,
the CPU fan of my Sat 2410-404 broke down. I can't seem to get a spare part, dealers appear to be out of stock or won't ship to continental europe. I've even been looking for similar radial fans but so far no luck.
Does anyone have a hint for me as to where to ask for this particular spare part? The part's code is GDM610000063.
Many thanks in advance, looking forward to hearing from you!
    Best regards
    Ben

  • Satellite 2410-603 - SD card reader not working

My Berlkin SD card broke and i replaced it with a Netgear WG511 v2 which is also not working, now i am asking myself, is it the card that is broken or the card reader?
Any ideas would be great, thanks.

    Hi,
would be useful to test the card in another machine or cardreader, to check if it is really working. Otherwise check
the system services if the cardreader service is properly activated and started and all drivers are properly installed.
Maybe a driver update is useful too. And to check if the cardreader works, just put a memorycard in there. If it works flawlessy,
you then know whats the point. :)

  • Sat 2410-603: No driverupdate for GeForce4 420 Go

It is unacceptable that for 2 years there are no more updatings for my satellite 2410-603 of the drivers of the Ge Force 4 420Go. Nvidia doesn't release updatings for the cards Go, saying to look on the site of Toshiba.
    So now I can't work.

    Hi
Toshiba graphic drivers are extra designed for these notebooks because of overheating issues. The Toshiba drivers include a overheating protection because if the notebook produce a lot of warmness if works with high performance. The original graphic driver doesnt support this function because there are designed only for desktop PC. In this case Toshiba developed the graphic drivers for newer models.
You can try to check the graphic drivers from other units with are delivered with the same graphic card. Maybe you can sole your issue on this way

  • Memory expansion on Satellite 2410

    Hi
I am planning to expand the memory of my Satellite 2410-601. It has 256 MB DDR at present. I am planning on using one more 256 memory module to expand the total memory to 512 MB.
What I would like to know is whether I can use any of the DDR memory modules available in market? Would there be any compatibility issues?

    Hi
    Do you know this site?
    http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=5548&ft=m&st=3
Here you can find the details about compatible memory modules for Satellite 2410-601.
It seems that the notebook is able to handle the 200-Pin PC2100 (266MHz) DDR SODIMM memory modules!!!
You could upgrade the memory up to max 1GB (2x 512MB)
    >Would there be any compatibility issues?
Generally you shouldnt have any compatibility issues. Its only important that you use the supported modules.
    Greetings

  • Can not find driver for Geforce 420 Go (32MB) - Satellite 2410

    Hi,
I have a Toshiba 2410-S504 and I'm having difficulty finding drivers for my nVidia Geforce 420 Go! The one's from the nVidia website will not install (If I force install them it reboots with a blue screen) and the latest one listed on the Toshiba website is from 2002!
I've tried ones off of laptopvideo2go but with no success, I managed to find one that installed without bluescreening on reboot but it doesn't provide any graphical acceleration (Movies and DVDs, and games 'lag' when viewing, I fixed this by reverting to the Toshiba website drivers).
Could someone point me in the right direction of new drivers?
    Thanks,
    Toby

    Hello Toby
Unfortunately there is no wrong or right direction. I have checked Toshiba download page and there is no newer driver. But if you are ready to make a experiment for all of us you can try to install the latest driver from Satellite Pro 6100. I have googled a little bit and found out that both units have the same graphic card. If you check Toshiba download page for Satellite Pro 6100 you will see that latest driver is from year 2003.
If you test it please let us know what happen.
    Good luck!

  • Satellite 2410: Question about different ways to use BlueTooth

    Hi,
I'm having trouble finding somewhere to purchase a bluetooth module for my Toshiba Satellite 2410 - the handbook says I can, and I know there is space on the underside of the laptop to insert it.
I just can't seem to find one to buy - does anybody know if they actually exist, as I am beginning to think not??!...or is the cheapest way to bluetooth enable the laptop to buy a USB adaptor?
If so, will a cheap one affect the download rate when using the Internet?? And what is the difference between an SD card and a USB bluetooth adaptor?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Well, with the detailed name I mean the full notebook number Satellite 2410-xxx.
However, you ask what a difference between Wireless Lan and Bluetooth.
The WLan is technology which allows you using or/and to create a LAN but without the cables.
;) The Wlan routers for example allow you to connect to the internet without the cable connection.
    Bluetooth technology:
If device like (mobile phones, printer, etc) support BT technology and you notebook uses also a BT so it's possible to connect these devices without cables. The devices should be placed in the available range.
I would recommend searching a little bit in the internet for more information about Wlan and Bluetooth

  • Hard Disk Upgrades on Satellite 2410

I know that I can just stick any drive that will fit in, but my question is:
Can I just use the recovery CD that came with my laptop to re-install windows XP onto the new hard disk, or do I have to get a seperate copy of XP?
The model of laptop is a Satellite 2410-something, and has 30Gb and I was thinking of going for a 80-100Gb disk.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi James,
Your recovery CDs will work with whichever hard drive you choose to install.
With regard to your choice of drive please be careful with your choice of rotation speed. Your notebook has cooling only for the CPU heatsink so any extra heat generated by your hard drive will need to be able to dissipate naturally. The faster rotation speed on 5400 and 7200 RPM drives naturally generate more heat and this can cause problems for your notebook.
Obviously if you are not using disk intensive applications this can be lessened by allowing the hard drive to power down when not in use.
By the way I use a 5400RPM 80GB drive in my SA30 and the extra heat produced is only in evidence when I run a full virus/malware scan followed by a defrag and full image backup, and believe me the casing gets very hot indeed in the vicinity of the hard drive.
    regards,

  • Is CPU upgrade on Satellite 2410-303 possible?

My Satellite 2410-303 has Pentium 4 Mobile 1.7GHZ processor. I want to upgrade its processor to Pentium 4 Mobile 2.8GHZ. I think that it is possible because its upper models have faster processor and that is unique difference between them.
Please, help me for this question and tell me is it possible?

    Hello
You will be very lucky if someone has so good experiences with CPU upgrade on Satellite 2410 but on this forum you can find very nice comments about that. I have founded just two of them but very interesting. Check it out!

  • Satellite 2410-413: USB2 PCMCIA card doesn't work

Good morning. It is my first time on a forum, and my English is poor.
I have tried to install a PCMCIA card with 4 USB-2 ports (hw & sw) on my Satellite 2410-413 in order to use a DTV dongle (hw & sw).
It will not work: The ports seem to be declared all right in the computer but in effect, a simple 64 MB USB-2 memory key [a Sony "micro-vault" key), will not work, and neither will the Winfast DTV dongle.
Paradoxically, both the mem key will work on any of the three USB-1 ports, and the DV dongle will light up on any USB-1 port. The PCMCIA card with 4 USB-2 ports is new. I cannot locate the origin of the problem.
Would any one help me with this question?
Thank you in aadvance for your reply. Here is (maybe ?)
Another way of formulating the question: how are USB ports managed by the system?

    > Hello Rasta

    Many thanks to you Mike30.
I have a couple of ideas now:
    - supplying the USB2 card with additional power (ie other power than computer), (but how?)
    - uninstalling and further, re-installing the USB2 "Truewin" PCMCIA card bus, and after that trying the "leadtek-brand" DTV sw.
    Cheers,

  • SD card slot not working - Satellite 2410-601

    Hi,
I've had my TOSHIBA Satellite 2410-601 laptop for nearly 3 years and have never needed to use the SD slot. Now however, I would like to use it, since I've got it.
When I insert an SD card, the "flashy light" works, but I don't see the drive in My Computer.
I've tried downloading the drivers off this website and following the instructions - but to no avail.
It has to be a driver or programme problem I think.
    (help!)
    Thanks
[Edited by: admin on 11-Feb-06 20:29]

    Hi
First of all you should check the device manager if the SD slot in installed properly.
If the yellow exclamation mark occurs in the device manger in the SD area so there is something wrong. Usually the driver is missing. In this case you have to install the SD host controller driver and SD memory card driver. These drivers you will find on the Toshiba website.
If the device was installed properly and the device manager doesnt show any exclamation marks so you have to use a supported and compatible SD card.
Please check you users manual for supported SD cards.
