MPEG-4 Encoding using Premiere Pro 2.0 ?

Is Premier Pro 2.0 capable of encoding to MPEG-4, or do I need to upgrade to CS-4?  In Premier Pro 2.0 in the Media encoder all I see is MPEG 1 and MPEG 2, Flash, Quick time, etc.  The manual mentions MPEG-4 but does not say how to access it.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your reply.  Do you know if Premier CS4 has MPEG-4 capabilities.
I have Production Studio.  What about After Effects does it have MPEG-4?
Thanks for your help.

  • Using Premiere Pro 6 - Capturing HDV .mpegs - These can't be seen by other programs like Compressor?

I'm using XHA1's using a Canon HV20 to capture via FW to my IMAC with 10.7. I'm using Premiere Pro 6 and have been using Plural Eyes to do audio sync for the past year.
About 6 months ago when I upgraded to Plural Eyes 3 (which they don't support video thumbnail preview for HDV) I noticed my MPEG files created in Premiere Pro could not be opened in Compressor to change to Apple Pro Res or do anything else with.
So, what I would like to know is there a way of capturing to some other file format than .mpeg using an HDV preset in Premiere Pro? I do weddings every weekend with 3 cameras doing hour long ceremonies. So, audio sync is real important and being able to see those thumbnails would be great.
Finally, when I export my XML to the desktop and bring it back into to Premiere Pro it "squeeshes" the HDV footage into 4:3 aspect ratio. Which I then create a new Sequence, select all, copy and paste and now I have 2 sequences to keep track of.
I realize these are not earth shattering - but they would sure save precious hours over a weeks time while doing many repetive actions. Thanks for any advice.

    I have same experience/problem:
    - PluralEyes does not show HDV thumbnails
    - Windows version crashes (I tryed initial version when WIN support was added)
    - Premiere still needs XML export-import, so stereo audio becomes double mono audio
I'm still using PluralEyes version 2, which is at least working:
    - use PluralEyes Connector to export from Premiere directly, that opens PE2 and asks you which timeline you want to sync
    - when done, exit PE and it will automatickly open Premiere, import project, and highlight added bins
    - grab highlighted bins and drag them to the "new folder" icon in project bin; that will create new bin and put all imported bins/clips in to that bin.
    - open synced project and copy all clips and paste them in original timeline (where unsorted clips vere).
OPTIONAL: I do replace all clips than with original clips from project bin, just to get stereo audio back. After I replace all clips I delete added bins/clips, because Premiere duplicate all (it will add them every time you re-import clips, instead of knowing it is already imported). So just to keep premiere project file smaller, I remove doubled clips.
If I need to sync just some files I use Premiere CC built in syncer. But PluralEyes does resolve harder to understand clips and Premiere solution is limited by how many clips is capable of syncing. And it does not work with several video/audio tracks, but only two. At least in my case, if I try to sync more than two clips it is grayed out.
Yes, I'm dissapointed by PluralEyes3, because this was my main reason I bought licence, Only to now using version 2.

    MIHAEL

  • Is there a way we can edit and improve existing youtube videos by using premiere pro? Just simple changes like having professional looking opening and closing credits?

Is there a way we can edit and improve existing youtube videos by using premiere pro? Just simple changes like having professional looking opening and closing credits?

Assuming you do not have access to the "original" video/project and the YouTube video is the only copy, there is a method. Try "YouTube Downloader" which is a free software that allows you to download clips from YouTube as .mp4 files. You can then edit with Premiere, and re-encode again for upload to YouTube. Just keep in mind that you are re-compressing the video so there will be some quality loss. The better the quality of the original, the better the copy will hold up.

  • Using Premiere Pro CS3 When exporting as flash file poor picture quality

I'm using Premiere Pro CS3. I shoot green screen in HDV and work in 1440 x 1080. I have been capturing files in Premiere and sending them to Serious Magic Ulta 2. I use this program for keying and adding virtual backgrounds. I save these files as avi. with a resolution of 1440 X 1080. I then bring them back into Premiere Pro for final edit. When I export these video's encoded as mpeg2 theyplay very clear. I am now trying to export as flv. with alpha channel background and the resolution is poor. I working on the transparent background with walk on spokespersons that overlay the HTML page. When In try to play them on my computer the adobe media player is what comes up. I have downloaded flash player but it doesn't select it to play the video. I'm running windows Vista Business platform. What am I doing wrong.

    Thanks for the reply.
The capture and editing have already been done in 1440 X 1080. Should I use this resolution rather than trying to bump it up to 1920 X 1080.

Computer playback generally prefers square pixels.  Make sure to set your output resolution to 1920 x 1080 using a Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR) of 1.0 or Square.
    See if that helps.

  • MPEG4 in, MPEG4 out: why getting bad quality using Premiere Pro CS3?

I have to edit a great number of MPEG4 footage (H.264, 720p, 29.97 fps), created with a Samsung NV24HD camera. They have a good quality regarding sharpness, contrast, color. I want the final movies as MPEG4 files, in the same format as the sources.
When I export an edited movie using the Adobe Media Encoder of Premiere Pro CS3, the quality is disappointing. A lot of details are lost and the contrast is less than the original footages. Further, I see that the size of the movies are reduced with about 30%.
I use the H.264 preset ‘HDTV 720p 23.976 High Quality’, but with the frame rate changed to 29.97 fps. Other settings are default.
    My questions are:
    1) What's wrong here?
    2) Is the method using the Adobe Media Encoder of Premiere Pro CS3 the right one to do this job?
    3) Do I use the correct settings?
    Any help is appreciated.

  • Burn DVD using Premiere Pro 2.0

    I use premiere pro
2.0 on my PC with Windows 7.  I can edit and save a video project, but I can't burn it to a DVD.
Is there a burn program in 2.0, or is there another burning program that will accept premiere
pro 2.0 projects?  I can import video segments into the Microsoft DVD burning program in
Windows 7, but it will not accept a Premiere Pro project.

If the issue is that PrPro does not see your burner, there might well be other programs "hooking" the burner. Do you get any error messages?
If Win7does not see your burner, then it is likely that either the firmware, or the driver used, are out of date - or both.
If Win7 does see the burner, then what you will need to do (depending on the answer to the first question), would be to Burn to Folder from PrPro. Then, use the free utility, ImgBurn, to do the physical burn to disc.
    Good luck,

  • Problem importing VOB files using Premiere Pro CC

Something must have changed between CS6 & CC as far as importing VOB files from non-DRM DVDs.
When I import the VOB files from a DVD using CS6, the import seems to go fine.
But when I import the VOB files from the same DVD using CC, the video info Frame Size and Aspect Ratio of the last VOB files comes in "wrong" when it should be the same as all of the other files.
It always seems to be the last file and it always seems to be off by the same amount.
I can Interpret Footage back to the same aspect ratio as the rest of the VOB files, but I cannot seem to fix the incorrect framesize.
I am using Premiere Pro CC Version 7.2.1(4).
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Using Premiere Pro CS6, currently not able to capture video.

Using Premiere Pro CS6 along with Canopus ADVC100 as my capture device through a firewire port, but in the capture window, it only shows black. I've tried all different settings. I've always been able to capture in the past. I had the AOL Tech Gurus check my computer and all ports and everything is working properly. I've even switched out the firewire cable, as well as used a different ADVC100 and different firewire ports, though it still is not working. I did see video for a few seconds without sound, but it went away. When I do power up the ADVC, it immediately starts up Premiere Pro CS6, so my computer is recognizing the ADVC100. I'm wondering if something within my computer is conflicting with the capture.
    - Arlen

Thanks cvid01 for jumping in -
Where would I see the ADVC100 as the Capture Device aside from the drop down window in Device Control where I can choose it to be the Device Control?
It's always worked with the Device Control Device showing "None". And the ADVC100 has always worked in the past with Premiere Pro CS6 for all my Captures.
Also, my Premiere Pro CS6 starts up once I power up the ADVC100. Though I have even closed the Premiere Pro CS6 after it opened up, and restarted the program.
Just wondering if the program itself has some sort of bug now in the capture window? Is there a Premiere Pro CS6 fix that will solve the issue?
Here is what my capture window shows:

  • Using premiere pro and replacing with after effects composition

Hi I am using premiere pro CS4.
I have created a multi camera sequence from 2 cameras, on a separate sequence. when I go to replace the time line footage with an after effects composition, after effects starts up but what I get is the footage in the after effects is from the other camera the exact time length.
what can I do to keep the correct footage from each of the cameras on the time line
    Thanks
    Rodney

I don't think that is possible at all. It may be a limitation on how multicam works. Since it doesn't produce genuinely separate clips, there is no way for AE to determine which one is actually being used currently. I would imagine, that you would have to insert the relevant snippet as a separate clip to get this working....

  • My webcam turns on when using Premiere Pro CC. How do I make this stop?

Got a weird one here folks...
It seems as though my webcam (Logitech C110) is turning itself on whenever I am using Premiere Pro CC.
When any window within Premiere is selected the green light besides the lens turns on...when I click "out of" Premiere...it goes off.
I seriously doubt Adobe is pulling some NSA-esque reconnaissance here. Does anyone else have this "problem" and if so do you know a way to fix this?
    Best,

I believe this issue has been present since day one of signing up for CC. Anyone have a solution?

  • HD to SD using Premiere Pro CS4

    Hi there.
I have imported AVCHD footage into Premiere Pro CS4 from my Sony HDR-SR11 and now I would like to export for DVD. The specs of the source video are:
    Image Size: 1920 x 1080
    Pixel Depth: 32
    Frame Rate: 29.97
I watched Jeff Bellune’s video on ‘Scaling HD to SD Using Premiere Pro CS4’, and replicated all export settings according to 1080i60 (please tell me if I’m wrong here) but the resulting quality it poor.
The one thing I could not replicate was the ‘Use Maximum Render Quality’. I do not have it as an option under the Fly Out Menu for the Video Settings tab.
Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks,
    David

    I'm using the trial version....
And I  am considering purchasing Adobe Production Suite CS5 and just want to  make sure that I will be able to export high quality SD DVD's from my  AVCHD footage. I watched Jeff Bellune's video on HD to SD using Premiere Pro CS4 and it explains it all clearly but I have been unable to use the ‘Use Maximum Render Quality’ option.
So without being able to see the end product, has anyonen else done this and be willing to tell me how good the DVD's look after  that import? They pretty much look awful when I use all of the settings minus the ‘Use Maximum Render Quality’ setting.
    Thanks  and take care,
    David

  • How to remove shine or glare from face ( forehead cheeks and nose) using Premiere Pro?

    Hi there,
I need to remore some glare from a person's face during a footage. This person has a darker skin tone and the lights we had in the room reflected on his forehead  and nose. Can I do that using Premiere Pro or any other adobe software? I would prefere to watcha  video tutorial or read some step by step instructions. If you know where I can find the answer to this I would apreaciate it !
    Thanks

If you're just needing to bring down the highlights in some hot spots on the face, then using the Curves effect or the Three-Way Color Corrector to just pull down the highlights would be an easy thing to do. Since you probably only want to target the face and not modify the rest of the scene, you'd probably be better off doing this in After Effects because of its superior masking and adjustment layer features.
Feel free to come on over to the After Effects forum to ask for specifics. Here are a couple of movies that show how to target just a face with an effect:
    using motion tracking and rotoscoping
    using Roto Brush
