I have quicktime pro and have bought Mpeg2 plugin but cannot play Mpeg2 clips. The picture is white and there is no sound. Other users has played the clip without problems.
Ideas?

  • Mpeg2 issue ---- muxed files

I'm having an issue with my Quicktime Pro with the MPEG2 plugin.
When I open this file format: MPEG2 Muxed, 480 x 360, 29.97 FPS, it plays the first few seconds then freezes the frame. The audio still goes on but I have no picture.
Now on the website for the MPEG2 plugin, it says that QT will play MPEG2 files muxed and all, but it's not for some reason ^_^ And also I want to pull those files into iMovie HD (iLife 05) and it doesn't want to pull in the files either.
I have found that Toast will actually make me a DVD no questions asked, but I'm looking to edit the videos. They play in VLC fine and will transfer over to MGEG4 alright, from VLC, but the more I step on the footage and compress and recompress, the crappier my video looks on the TV.
Can anyone help me find out how to get my stuff to play or be able to edit with-out all this recompression? Right now I have to convert to .mp4, insert into iMovie, fix, export to iDVD and compress back into an MPEG2 DVD friendly. Or....go from .mpg to BitVice and try to edit in iMovie with .m2v when it just mysteriously doesn't want to work this time with .mp4.
I'm getting a little frustrated! Can you please help? Thank you!!
    Dual 2.3 Powermac - October   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   23" Cinema

I have found that Toast will actually make me a DVD no questions asked, but I'm looking to edit the videos.
What kind of editing do you wish to do? If all you need is limited editing capabilities (e.g., trimming segments, cropping and/or scaling, adjusting the volume, brightness, contrast, and/or saturation), then a free application like MPEG Streamclip (woring in conjunction with the MPEG-2 component which you already have) may be all you need. Note however, that if you wish to work entirely withing the MPEG "muxed" file format, you will be limited to just trimming your segments and saving them. Other editing capabilities mentioned are usually performed as part of a conversion process. If you wish to perform more complex edits, apply special effects and or mix the media with phtographs, music, add transitions and/or fades, etc,. then you can use this application to convert both audio and video to either a continuous DV stream (compatible with the current version of iMovie) or segmented DV streams (compatible with older versions of iMovie).

  • Mpeg2 issue in PPCC

    Hi,
I've been having this issue for over six months now. When I encode an Mpeg2 file from Premiere Pro CC, the video comes out herky jerky
and with a weird blur over any text that is on screen. My work around has been to output in quicktime, then open up CS6 and encode in Mpeg2.
(my station plays only Mpeg2) So far tech support hasn't been able to resolve the issue, so I'm hoping someone in our super smart community
will have an idea of how to fix it.
it has a lot of the hallmarks of an upper/lower problem, but I've tried everything I can think of to fix it and nothing has worked.
I've uploaded a file to youtube for you to look at. You should be able to see what I'm talking about. Any help would]
    be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you,
    Virgil

  • Mpeg2 issues new thread

    woodwizer,
the mov export is here ( final test export  )
    http://rodneybauer.com/whiteboard3.htm
right click and use 'save link as" option...and you can save the file
the web upload ( youtube which is not so great quality wise...but thats youtube ) is here
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGm1VEG8zxs
-------------using other web site related video ( not youtube ) delivery will give better results...and you can adjust bitrate on export too...make it nicer...I only used 2300kbps----------
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGm1VEG8zxs
as you can see , different things happen on web delivery than other formats...and the uploaded file I used is the one you see on the above link...the letterbox format inside the 720x576 4:5 space...
this didnt require any re-capturing of tapes and so on...just exporting mov wrapper as progressive etc as explained in my confusing earlier posts...and avoids the problems with dv avi or avi exports and so on...because of the hd anamorphic 1.333 original source...
subsequently, you can convert all footage from HD to the mov wrapper and then edit, and then export your edit, and then upload to web and then have a pretty decent product, I think....
If you go interleaved with dv pal recapture in sd my opinion is that you will lose half your vertical resolution going to progressive when you go to the web....you can see the "web" handles it differently maybe from the above link to youtube... ?

I will start with the camera
Its a Canon A1 which can shoot in progressive but puts the footage as interlaced on tape.
1440x1080 with non square pixels and a PAR of 1.33, also known as anamophic widescreen.
As Woodwice has an underpowered laptop there is no way he can edit 8 tapes of hdv with several houndereds of clips in CS4.
CS4 cannot handle large projects. Or he has to make every tape into a project.
He did mention he was able to edit SD without any problem.
So problem solved. Convert the already captured footage or recapture as SD with the camera.
Downconverting in the camera will often give a better result than most software converters.
Using a converter like Aunsoft wont do the job because its for AVCHD (tapeless stuff) which has the extention of MTS/m2ts and is quite
different from HDV footage which Woodwice captured with HDV split and gave him m2t. Premiere gives .mpeg but no scene detection.
Using AME to get HDV to SD in CS4 will give you small vertikal lines this is because they (Adobe) changed the PAR. So CS4 handles convertion
somewhat different than CS3. The second converted avi which plays wonky is imo probably corrupted by K-lite codec pack).
All of John's suggestions but one are unusable.
    Corel is a NLE
    Womble is an mpeg editor
    Magix is a NLE
NCH will convert to dv avi but not from m2t
    Daniussoft is a dvd ripper
    Deskhare will only convert SD.
    Topshoftware dvd only
    DVD decrypter dvd only
Squared 5: finally one that can do m2t to dv avi.
Super can do it probably too, but gives you all sorts of codecs you do not want.
Finally mpeg virtual dub. You will not find this on the regular site.
Its specially made, you have to Google, and it does not handle m2t (changing extention makes it crash).
IMO TMPGenc 4 Express is a good converter but not cheap.
Proxy editing is out of the question if one has to render and export on the same underpowered rig.
MPEG Pro HD 4 Plug-In could work but is expensive. 160 dollars.
Have my doubts about Cineform on this rig.
PAL or ntsc dv avi can never be progressive.
the only dv avi that can be progressieve is 24p.
DV avi can never have square pixels.
A dv avi pal is always lower field, non square pixel either 4:3 or widescreen and 720x576.
CS3 has a different par for the dv avi then cs4/5 does.
If you want square pixels in a pal widescreen sequence you will have to use a different codec or uncompressed and change the dimensions for cs3 its 1024x576 for cs4/5 its 1050x576.
In my opinion mov is for the Mac. avi is for PC.
Now for choosing a sequence setting.
HDV: 1440x1080, pal is 25 fps and widescreen 1.33 non square
CS4/5 has ready made presets for this type of footage (and so has cs3 i believe). There is no need to go and make one yourself, especially if you do not know what you are doing. If the footage does not play well its usually the HW.
As the A1 puts its footage interlaced (two fields) on tape there is no need to choose 25p. An interlaced sequence will work just a well. No harm in using a progressive timeline.
Converting HDV to SD (dv avi) can be done in AME (not Premiere, AME is a seperate programm now, you can fill it with footage and batch convert) but it will give you the narrow black bars on each side (see my screendump somewhere in the thread, post 26) This is not an 'issue' in CS3 because it still has the old PAR settings. In CS4 you can crop the footage in the export settings but that will take even longer to convert.
If you capture the HDV footage as SD in the camera you will have no issue with the black bars. One gets clean SD widescreen footage.
Post 52: these are invalid settings will never work for dv avi.
Now when the whole project is edited in a SD widescreen pal lower field first project.
One can export to dvd or the web.
The export to dvd stays interlaced. For the web one can choose e.g. wmv or mp4 both will need deinterlacing on export.
    Hope this helps.
PS never going to write a long post as this again

  • Won't render, won't export to mpeg2 1440 x 1080i 30

When I try to export to mpg2 140 x 1080i 30 an error message comes up and export cancels.
When I click the render box on the timeline, the CTI goes to the same brief clip and plays it, then stops.  No rendering takes place, and the clip remains selected.
Also I don't find an export option for mpg4.
    Thank you.

What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system is it running?
    For now I will assume, Premiere Elements 11, 12/12.1, or 13/13.1 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer along with Premiere Elements? If not, please do so. That may be the answer to the MPEG2 issues and a lot more.
As for export of your Timeline content to file saved to computer hard drive with .mp4 file extension, please look for your opportunities
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    AVCHD
Presets.......one of the MP4 presets which can be customized under the preset's Advanced Button/Video Tab, Audio Tab, and, if applicable, Multiplexer Tab.
    and
    Publish+Share
    Mobile Phones and Players
    Apple iPod, iPad, iPhone
and one of the .mp4 presets there.
Please review and consider, and supply more details so that we can fine tune the information.

  • I only get sound on my "video" why is it only playing sound?

    I have Premier elements13
I follow all the instructions to the  point. when I Publish+share to computer it creates an MPEG file, it plays the sound but no picture/video? What am I missing?

    runelarneng
Sorry for the delayed reply. I must have lost track of your thread.
What are you using as your player? Windows 8 and 8.1 are known to have Windows Media Player MPEG2 issues. Microsoft issue. In this regard, can you download and install the VLC player and get video as well as audio playback with it?
VideoLAN - Official page for VLC media player, the Open Source video framework!
Typical drill type considerations....depending to your reply to the above.
Since you present your issue as no video, it is important to assure that you video card/graphics card (in spite of its superior attributes) has a driver version that is up to date. So, please confirm that at the web site of the manufacturer of the card.
Your GoPro video was probably AVCHD or H.264.mp4 and apparently has undergone conversion since you refer to your present source media .mp4 and .avi as "originally" GoPro recording. Please download and install the free codec utility named GSpot to confirm the video properties, specifically Video Name, Codec, and Status as well as Audio Name and Status.
    GSpot Codec Information Appliance
Please confirm if you have video in previewing the Timeline content before export.
You say that your MPEG export (Publish+Share/Computer/MPEG has no video. However, you say that you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer. Please go to Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime and let me know if you find QuickTime presets in the Presets list.
Please review and consider the above and then we can decide what next.
    Thank you.

  • My MP4 video's dont playback sound in premiere 13

I have a few issues with Adobe Premiere that have me very upset . 1. I had premier 11 had the same issue , so talked with your sales rep , he said the files would playback with sound if I upgraded ..so I dug deep threw down the coin ..and upgraded , problem is still there.  so I was lied too to make money. 2. Your organizer leaves a lot to be desired and should be set up a bit different to make it easier to download and not duplicate files ...or if you as I did download a file and it doesn't work correctly , you should be able to replace it with out deleting it and starting over ...  You should also be able to drag drop files between folders etc... I have one huge album with everything in it ..which is not what I was looking to do ... OK now to my main issue  where the blank is the freaking sound  to my video downloads ? I run windows 8 (which like adobe premier sucks ) light room = awesome program ...   my files are downloaded from my Verizon galaxy g2 phone as an mp4 file ...they play fine in light room (odd they will preview play there but not premier and premier is a video editing program ) work well in media player as well ... same as on video player with windows 8 ...but no freaking sound in premier 13 , this is frustrating ....it has no sound in the editor or in the organizer ....WHY ???? Is there a free program or way to convert them to a different codec or file type so I can edit them with the sound in premier???  I don't want to have to buy more programs to compensate for what should already be capable in premier 13 ... maybe I am missing something and the program is fine, and a good quality item  ..but I am not seeing it ...    would not have upgraded had I know there was no valuable  improvements from premier 11 , and that the audio would not work with my videos ... it also does not play with MP3 files from my older phone ....  sad and upsetting because my granddaughters birth , first birthday , Christmas etc are all recorded in these MP3 , MP4 files /format which does not produce sound in premier 13 ...so I have important once in a life time family memories recorded but cannot edit with sound....errrr
    Bill Butcher [email protected]
Lightroom is awesome .... not sure what gives with premier 13 , and again maybe its me ....missing something

This is not Adobe. Rather it is a user to user forum. You need to contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat if you require direct contact with Adobe. If you purchase Premiere Elements 13 from Adobe within the last 30 days, you should be able to get your money back.
When you are interested in going to a new version for whatever reason, I would encourage you to evaluate the free 30 day tryout of the program before any thoughts of purchase to assure the compatibility of your program with your computer operating system and your project goals. This gives you the opportunity to trust claims but to verify before purchase.
Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 8 (assumed 64 bit)
Cell phone video is often recorded with a variable rather than a constant frame rate. Premiere Elements 13 is not unique in having problems with the variable frame rate. The problems can run from out of sync audio or not being able to import the file at all. A typical solution is to take the video into a program such as HandBrake to change the variable to a constant bitrate, obtaining a H.264.mp4 file.
Movie Maker 2012 often is a good choice for converting problematic video to usable video in Premiere Elements. That program offers a .wmv as well as a .mp4 export choice.
As for video from your older phone, you could take the .mp3 into iTunes and convert the .mp3 to .wav and determine if that resolves the issue.
Are any iTunes music involved in any of this?
I hesitate to ask because you seemed to have said that you worked with version 11 before, but I will ask nonetheless so as not to take anything for granted.
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 13 (can you see QuickTime presets in the Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime area? Are you running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges?  What players do you have installed on your computer?
And, if MPEG2 is in the mix along with Windows Media Player, remember that Windows 8 and Microsoft have a MPEG2 issue there.
My first target is assuring that you have video and audio presenting in the Premiere Elements 13 Editor. After that is established, then we can take on the Elements Organizer 13 issues.
Please review and consider. If you decide to move forward with your projects, we can sort through the details to seek solutions. We would glad
for the opportunity to be of assistance.

  • Streamclip and mixing AVCHD with .264 footage

I have an AVCHD camcorder for land shots and a .264 waterproof camcorder for on water and want to mix footage in FCE4. I cannot upload the .264 and would have to use streamclip.
1/Which version do i download the 19.2 or 19.3.b version?
2/ It also says on the site there are MPEG2 issues with snowleopard which worries me as I don't yet have the understanding to fix it if it causes an issue. Is this a real problem or resolved now?
3/ Would i be better (or can I) rough edit the .264 footage on imovie then burn to DVD and re import to FCE 4 from DVD to then mix with the AVCHD footage?
    4/ Can I import from un-encrypted DVD's?
    Thanks A Mac newbie

Tom, thanks for the quick response. Your books has arrived and is great but these questions are a little Off Piste in relation to FCE4 so thanks for your help
1/ I think I have Snow Leopard as this is a new (1 week old) I Mac from Apple UK. How do I tell?
2/ If i convert the .264 will i definitely be able to mix the footage from both my camcorders in FCE4?
3/ Is the workaround re installing the MPEG2 component or something else I have to do ?
As i am new to Mac if it is not an in built workaround I am concerned i will mess it up and lose MPEG2 playback ability (although not sure how that would actually effect me with the Audio Video media I use).

  • Is this a media problem

Greetings- still learning to use the MacPro..am still moving files from PC -was in the editing stage of home movie on PC finished it up- but it won't play on my Mac- does ok in stand alone DVD player... PC burns to + R DVD only so thats what it's on - a Memorex and also a Maxell... I did not attempt to burn to Verbatim +R DVD cause I had no printable ones on hand - and I like to print the DVDs in printer ... I thought at first the Mac couldn't read +R DVDs but I found an old home movie done on the PC on a +R DVD verbatim and it loaded up fine and allowed me to play it with the built in DVD player on the MAC - so is this a user ID 10 T problem, a media problem, possible format (mpeg2) issue and whatever the heck it is, how can I make one to use in Mac- I do have a program called Toast (have never used it yet) if you write and suggest I do fancy things, pls keep in mind I'm an old gal -still learning and be precise as possible... like there are many TS folders on the disk- which do I have to copy into somewhere etc... Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Baryo- after closing the tray the DVD and it's title show up on the desk top- then the Mac DVD player opens and I push play - words pop up in the DVD player window telling me "supported disk not avail" with a circle w/line thru it. Then I tried to go up to menu bar to File and select open DVD Media - and chose the Disk Icon from the far left column (called December 1994) the DVD that's in thebuilt in Mac - Pioneer drive - doing that opened a window for me to choose either Arcsoft or Video-TS (arcsoft is the program I used to create the DVD on the PC) So, I clicked on Video TS -(A bunch 10 to be exact, of files, extended to the right after clicking Video Ts - they are TS Bup, IFO, VOB type extensions or folders in the Video-TS main folder) Since I didn't know thich one of those to click on, I just clicked on the Original Video TS folder -then I got a pop up telling me "there was a problem opening the media - the media type is not suported. I have tried dragging the Icon to the quicktime Q on my bottom (task?) bar - no can do it says.
Yes it does show up in the left pane of the Disk Utility window also- when I click on the one I need I get the info on the disk in question - ie:
Mount Point :/volumes/December 1994 Capacity: 3.4 GB (bytes too)
Format: Universal Disk Format Available : 0Bytes
Write Status: Read Only Used: 3.4 GB
Number of Folders:5 Nmber of Files: 28

  • Mpeg2 rendering issues

    Hi,
I have a customer who is using two nearly identical workstations for Adobe Premiere CS5.
Both are running Win7 64bit with 12GB of ram, i7 quadcore cpu and a mix of SSD and HDD drives.
Both are also using the Nvidia GTX graphic cards & CS5 acceleration.
One of these systems also has a Matrox RT.X2 card (which is not used for new project, only for older projects).
The system that has te Matrox card has issues rendering projects as MPEG2 (even though the card is not selected/used in a new project!).
The rendering completes without warnings but playback of the created MPEG2 file shows glitches.
When rendered a second or third time the glitches remain and are located at the exact same timestamp.
When the part of the project that has issues is imported into a new project file the rendering is fine.
The problem occurs mostly in larger projects (several minutes).
Also rendering to FLV is just fine...
    Can anyone help?

When you say MPG2, are you using MPG2 presets or MPG2-DVD presets?
    MPG2
In MPG2 are you using MPG1 layer I or Layer II Or dolby Digital?
    What are your audio settings?
    What are you multiplexing settings?
Sound like it might be a interleave or multiplex issue.
I create tons of MPG2-DVD files every day 0 problems.  But I am using MPG2-DVD and export M2v and PCM in separate files.

  • Issues With DVD Studio Pro 1.5 - MPEG2 Encoding & Building Discs

    Hi.
I'm having problems encoding MPEG2 files in final cut express - everytime I try to encode, final cut closes.
Also, when I go to build and format a disc in dvd studio pro, this also closes.
I have looked at updating dvd studio pro to 1.5.2 and although I have downloaded the .bin file for the update, I don't know how to get it to run. The download is from the following link ( http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120138 )
If anyone could help at all, it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Of all the early versions of DVDSP, 1.5.2 was the most stable and you really ought to be using that if you are not going to upgrade further.
V1 was notoriously flaky. I used to chant 'Apple+S' every day when I used it, just to remind me to save... I lost count of the number of hours lost when the app hung or crashed. That version of DVDSP was built on an entirely different code base to the current version. There are still folk who prefer to use V1 despite its faults, but I am not one of them... although I do still run a version of it somewhere.
The upgrade will be straightforward enough. Double click the file you have downloaded and you should get a disc image. Open it and double click on the files inside. Keep your serial number handy, although I don't recall it being needed for a minor upgrade.
You may find that encoding is your biggest hurdle. Back in the day of v1.5 there were very few cheap options open to you. One was to use the Quicktime MPEG encoder, which was a system file you had to install into the QT folder in the system library. Since the system library can't be altered whilst the system is running (i.e. your mac is on) this was a bit of an issue - you either used the terminal app, or booted into target disc mode and used a second mac to put the file into the right location. Sheesh. Alternatively, you used an altogether better encoder - BitVice. These days you have many different options for encoding - try simply exporting from FCE as .mov and encoding in something else entirely. You need to end up with elementary streams -ideally a .M2V and .aiff (for audio). You should also have A.Pack installed on your hard drive. Use this to encode the audio to AC3 (Dolby Digital).
Then bring those assets in to DVDSP and author quickly. Use Apple+S frequently - like every time you make a change. Don't use the preview if you can avoid it, as it tended to crash out more often than not. Build the disc as a disc image and test it in DVDPlayer app.
Of course, for a relatively low cost you can now use DVDSP v3 or 4 (available on eBay most days, I think!) This uses a far more stable code base, a more graphical approach to authoring and has more bells and whistles (not that you'll need them all the time, if ever). It is based on DVD Maestro (PC App) and is very similar to use. Advantages are many and varied compared to V1 but there is a consequential hit on speed IMO. That said, if your mac is anything close to modern (I author mostly on an old G4 still) then you will be fine.

  • Mpeg2-DVD issue

    Hi all,
    I recently shot a show in 1920x1080, 17mbps, AVCHD.
I am exporting it  to mpeg2-dvd but for some reason the end of the movie clip is missing but the audio is fine.
Here is a picture to shwo what I am trying to explain,
I am encoding part 2 right now I will update this post when it has finished. Any help would be great with this issue,
    -Giannis

What I am doing is this
-Selecting the first half of the show on my premier pro cs6 window, the footage is HD
-Then I select mpeg2-dvd from the export settings panel
-I then send the file over to media encoder and encode the file
-When the file is done I am left with this...
As you can see the end part of the movie clip is missing.
    No chapter markers.

  • Render Issue - Skips, Stalls, Jerky MPEG2

Folks I am trying to export from .mts and .avchd files into MPEG2 and the result I am getting is a skips in usually two areas of the rendered video.  This is a frame skip or stall and with each render it is in a different place.  At first I thought it might have been the machine.  So I went and I purchased a new one.  The results I get are the same.  The video skips frames in usually two places.  It is always in different places and not where there is a cut.
    The machine I have is
ASUS I7 2630qm second gen processor
    8gb of ram 1333mhz, 750gb (7200) rpm hard drive.
I am confident that the issue is not with the machine as this one is a week old and I have tried it with my older machine and got the same results.  I tried a variety of things.  The latest being export to Microsoft AVI and then render to MPEG2 and the result is the same.   I have tried with Max bit Depth, Render Quality and Frame blending, and without.  Same results.
I have tried with a couple of different footages and format options and same results.  I have tried Exporting from Premiere and queing and rendeing from Adobe Media Encoder.  Tried Exporting in HD and SD, the problem does not go away.
I am starting to think that there is a bug with Premiere CS5. Any thoughts anyone.
I almost forgot the most important thing.  The issues are happening when played back in Windows Media Player. I need to have it play back correctly..
    Thanks

Ok folks, the reason I did not specify NTSC or PAL is becuase I am having the issue with both.  I rendered NTSC into NTSC and the same issue happens.  I understand that once I renderer to PAL that the quality is not the best, but this is not what I am trying to find an answer to.  The issue is that the video stalls for a fraction of a second and then it jumps to another frame. This happens usually a couple of times in the video.  Other than that I am very happy with the quality.
Let me throw this out there as well.  Today I rendered the MPEG2 NTSC file (the skippy one) into another MPEG2 NTSC file using Mainconcept.  Guess what the video did not skip, it was perfect.  This leads me to believe that there is a bug inside of Premiere CS5.
Although this is a work arround, I would love it if I could just rendered out of CS5 and get the same result.
I do appologize if I was not clear from the beginning.  The raw footage has been NTSC, however the issue was happening whether I rendered to NTSC or PAL.
The source files were avchd and mp4 for different projects of course.
    Thanks

  • H.264 BD vs. MPEG2 BD CBR multiplexed issue ?

Let me know if you need more information here.  I have a ~12 minute long video made from predominantly 720p source along with some audio tracks, a few stills, etc.  Long story for a different day, but for now I need to export using CBR.    If I export using the H.264 Blu-ray 720p 59.94 CBR multiplexed with the bit rate set to 25to produce a .m2t file the audio is craked up and the playback is laggy, slower than real time.  This occurs on an i7, 32GB, GTX 670, RAID 0 PC as well as natively off a USB flash drive on a Sony BD player.   If I use the same settings / .m2t with the MPEG2 Blu-ray format I have no issue.   Or if I drop the bit rate to 15 (default) on the H.264 it works.   Anyway, is this result to be expected?   Thanks

I took about 30 seconds of one of my sequences as an experiment here and produced four export files: 1) H264 BD CBR 25 mbps; 2) H264 BD CBR 15 mbps; 3) MPEG2 BD CBR 25 mbps; 4) MPEG2 BD CBR 15 mbps.
WMP: audio hiccups and cracks on #1, but the rest play ok.   Same result on Sony BD player as well.
VLC: #1 and #2 have no audio on play; #3 and #4 have audio hiccups and cracks
PPCS6: pulling the exported files back into PP and playing in the source monitor: no audio on all four tracks.
In case it matters in this particular case the video is just still photos placed on a video track with some .wav files underneath that were recorded with a USB microphone.
I did another experiment taking a 720p off the video camera used and produced the same four exports.    WMP seemed ok on all, although in this case the audio is wind noise on a bicycle descending, so maybe harder to tell if minor  problems exist.    VLC experience was the same; PPCS6 emitted a medium pitch alarm/buzzing sound for audio.
I am really perplexed by the behavior of PP in this case.   Thoughts?
