MPG2-Export renders a 15 Sec. Clip into a 20 Sec. Clip. Is that a known issue with Version 7.2.0.43

Hi there, i have troubles with rendering an AE-Composition in AME. This never happened before.
Rendering the 15 Sec Composition turns ends up in a 20 Sec. Clip when opening in Quicktime Player.
Any ideas out there?

But when i import the rendered Clip into AE it shows, that the clip is 15 Sec...

  • Any known issues with Premiere CC and imported HDV clips?

I'm having consistent difficulty with Premiere CC playback of HDV video that originated in FCP 7. This was not an issue in Premiere CS6. The problem is dropout and pixelization which is consistent, pass after pass, and occurs at the same TC location on some clips. It is almost like some clips are corrupted in a consistent manner, while others are not, and don't seem to become corrupted.
For a variety of reasons, I still shoot HDV on a Z1U, and use an old FCP7 workstation to digitize media. I then import these individual video clip files into CS6. These are clips that play correctly in FCP, Premier CS6, and in the Finder, and Quicktime Pro, but not Premiere CC.
I have Dropboxed a sample clip to my service contact at AJA, and she is reporting the same issue with Premiere CC. (The technical support at AJA is the best I've experienced in over 30 years of video production).
The same issue presents itself with HDV clips that were converted to such from .m2v via Clipwrap.
Any other types of media play correctly within Premiere CC. For example, I have a CS6 project that is nothing but After Effect CS6 anims comiled into a program in Premiere CS6; it plays perfectly. So do any media that Premiere CC puts through its own conversion or import "routine," like AVCHD. Even XDCAM clips that went into FCP via XDCAM Transfer play well.
    Any thoughts?

    Tim,
I would assume the clips work fine in FCP7, so you're not totally busted. Maybe try using Compressor or AME, like the other guy said, to export them in another format; I'd recommend Apple ProRes 422. Fallback is to work in FCP7, as the tapes are gone.
When I 1st posted this problem, I left for vacation. I saw briefly that someone suggested a plugin in another reply, but I haven't had a chance to pursue that yet. I'm in northern Michigan (USA) with limited access to email. I'll do some follow up this Monday when I return. Good luck!!

  • Upgraded to iPhone 6, cannot get into iCloud. "The password you entered is incorrect" even though I used the same Apple ID and password that I used to log into this session.  My wife has the same issue with her iPhone 6 as well.

iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1.2) My wife and I were able to log into iCloud when we bought and activated the phones.  In the last 2 days, we have not been able to do so.  Have reset the password 3 times.  Can get into iTunes and iCloud via MacBook Pro.  Every attempt to log in via iPhone we get a message saying the password is incorrect.  I noticed someone else had a similar problem about 1 hour ago.  Apple support's answer did not fix the problem for them.

have you managed to fix that? i'm facing the same issue on iPhone 6 (8.1.3)

  • I cannot override my previous version of Firefox with v4.0. When I try to drag it into applications, I get a message that there is a newer version already there (not true).

I have been following the download instructions. But I never get a prompt to place the file into the Applications folder. So I open the file, drag it to Applications, and get a message that I already have a newer file in Applications. However, this is not true. When I drag the file to the Firefox icon, I am told that can't be done because Firefox is already open.
I have done several other updates, never had this problem before. I have a MacBook.

Beginning with Firefox 4, Macs must have an Intel x86 processor; your system is a PPC Mac.

  • Exporting using Compressor failed, and other awekward issues with FCP

Hi FCP gurus! I need your help!
Everytime I try to export using compressor, my submission fails.
I even try a sequence a exported as m2v on Monday, but today is not working.
Compressor will some times say "Unable to view preview, FCP is busy". When I press submit, it goes to Batch Processor but it either will immediately show FAILED or it will just not do any processing. When I quit and restart, then the submission appears as failed.
Also when exporting, FCP comes back with a pop message saying that 4 files went offline. When I try to reconnect them it says: "There are not clips selected that have files associated with them". So, why is FCP constantly not able to fine this files, if they are not been used?
I need to export a file for my soundtrack guy, and he needs MOV, preferable DV-PAL or Motion-JPEG or similar frame-based codecs. What are my options?
In any case, what the problem here is that I CANNOT export anything. What shall I do? I already restarted the computer twice, nothing.
I realized that I have files using in this project, saved in two different external harddrives, do you think this has anything to do with the issue?
    I am using FCP 5.1.4
    Thanks so much in advance!

First off, fwiw, I never "send to compressor."  I export a self-contained QT movie, not a conversion.  Then I run that through compressor with the appropriate settings.  I like the self contained file, it becomes a master from which I can make all sorts of variations.  The only difference, in theory between self contained and reference, is that if for any reason you lose the render files the reference movie will not work.
    Q1 No.
    Q2 see above
Q3  There is no such thing as uncompressed.  It's just a different codec rather than a perfect copy of your timeline.
Q4 lots of reasons for making a conversion, but none of them are valid for making DVD's
Q5  Nothing wrong with letting DVDSP make the encoding-- just be sure to get into the preferences for DVDSP and set the destinations to a folder for the project, so you don't overwrite any other projects.  Depending on how long the project is, you can let it encode in the bg while you set up your project, build the buttons etc.  It's all the same encoding engine, whether is is done in compressor or dvdsp.   I find it much faster to use compressor then to take to dvdsp becaue you can use quickcluster.
Now a couple of questions for you:  what sort of footage are you using and what are your fcp sequence settings?

  • Export Issues with Compressed Partition Tables?

We recently partitioned and compressed some large tables. It appears, but I'm not sure yet, that this is causing the export to run extremely slow. The database is at 10.2.0.2 and we are using the exp utility, not datapump. Does anyone know of any known issues with using exp to export compressed, partitioned tables?

can you give more details of the table structure with dbms_metadata if possible, and how you are taking the export please?
    did you try to take an sql*trace of the export process to see what is going on behind, this is an introduction if you may need;

  • Unknown error compiling movie - tiny sections export fine - no one bad clip

This week I've been dealing with a huge pain exporting a 6 minute video on my retina macbook pro. The sequence is 720p 24fps (23.976) and contains a mix of 720p & 1080p (scaled) AVCHD footage, a couple of 1080p GoPro shots, some 1080p time-lapse clips (quicktime h.264) and some mp3 files.
Earlier I was having trouble with playback in premiere, but by replacing one bad clip and rendering the rest in small chunks I am now able to play back the sequence with zero issues within premiere.
However, when I go to export the whole movie, or even a significant chunk, either the system starts spinning its wheels partway through export or I get "error compiling movie - unknown error."
The workaround I have found when that happens is to restart premiere (often having to force quit) and then try to export a smaller chunk. (Restarting seems to be necessary after an export has failed). Sometimes the chunks become ridiculously small, but there is no one clip or section that won't export if the clips are small enough. I have also tried cleaning the media cache trashing the preferences, neither of which have changed anything.
Even when I export using the sequence settings of the sequence (which has already been rendered and plays fine within premiere) the problem persists.
My first question is: how can there be an issue exporting a video with identical settings to a sequence that has already been rendered and plays back fine?? Am I wrong in understanding that no conversion is required in that case? Clearly there is something about the process that I don't understand.
My second question is, if no one clip or clips are to blame, are there any likely culprits in my system? Is there perhaps a less time-consuming workaround?
Finally I want to ask: what good does it do to allow users to put different types of media into one timeline if they can never export it?!?!
This is super frustrating, thank you for any help or insight.

So, I ran into this the first time recently. I discovered it when I copied an adjustment layer for quick grading with an RGB Color Corrector and Color Balance effects in it from a rehearsal cut of a short film. The effects worked fine and rendered out without issue. I imported the sequence into my 'final' cut so I could reuse the titles and adjustment layer. I copied the adjustment layer to the new rough cut of the final sequence and ran into this error when I tried to render it, but only after applying the adjustment layer. I found that if I turned off the Color Balance, the sequence rendered fine. I found that if I moved the Color Balance above the RGB Color Corrector, the effect of the RGB effect completely disappeared AND it rendered correctly (both effects turned on) - so reversing the order worked, but effects were weird. I also found that if I added ANY non-GPU accelerated effects to the RGB Color Corrector that I'd get the same compile error (unknown).
I went through and deleted clips until I got to 0 on the timeline, added a new one back on, and it still wouldn't render. So, I created an entirely NEW sequence, copied all video and audio (not adjustment layer) from the original failing rough cut of the final sequence, and pasted it into this new sequence. I also copied the adjustment layer again from the rehearsal cut into this new sequence and it is rendering just fine.
HOURS WASTED DOING THIS! It would be awesome if Adobe actually tested their products before releasing them instead of forcing us to do it for them. My project consisted of about 30-40 different clips and audio, all from the same DSLR (Nikon D810), nothing fancy, two effects in an adjustment layer applied to the entire sequence, and Premiere couldn't handle it. Given this and some of the comments I read while troubleshooting this on this forum, gives me pause in trusting Adobe products for any real work that has a deadline (unless, of course, you build in the required Adobe testing time into your budget).
So, just another data point; something else to try. Create a new sequence, and copy everything from your non-working one to it, and see if this will jump-start Premier. Worked for me. Good luck.

  • Audio export- levels change on several clips

    This is driving me crazy!
    Using FCP 5.1.4...
Upon exporting the entire show for DVD--audio as an AIFF, the levels of several clips change and become really loud.
A work around I used when I made the last version of the dvd was copying each clip and pasting the content back into the clip via Paste Attributes. It would trash the renders (I am using audio effects such as reverb) and upon export would be fine. Now, this trick isn't working.
Any ideas? In Final Cut, everything sounds great, so there's no way to tell before export that there is a problem.
    Thanks.

Okay, I trashed all of my renders.
This is weird-- Now in FCP I am seeing the level changes in clip overlay mode. It's like trashing the renders is allowing the "true" levels to show. WEird. One clip has all these kefprames on it while it's stero pair partner is completely flat.
    Weirdness.
I noticed some other render file issues with this project previously--old video render files wouldn't go away ever after toggling the Clip Enable on and off which is usually good for disconnecting a render from a clip.
    Anyone seen this behavior before?
    I gotta get FCP 6.0 I think!

  • Excessive re-rendering using Nikon D7000 clips

I just started using the Nikon D7000 clips in my final cut project and now every single edit requires rerendering. Why? And what can I do to avoid all this extra rerending time? I've been using Final Cut Express for a couple of years with footage off a Canon Vixia and I could do 90% of my editing without the need for rerendering. My workflow now includes syncing seperate audio files with the mov files using Dual Eyes. If I can't fix this outrageous rendering time I'm gonna have to ditch the DRSL idea and go back to the Canon. Is there anybody out there that knows what I'm talking about?

Thank you so much for this tip! I just downloaded MPEG Sreamclip and brought in a clip from the Nikon. I used the "Export to QuickTime" option and then chose the "Apple Intermediate Codec." I hope those were the correct steps. I brought the newly exported clip into Final Cut and I see that I can move it around the timeline and shorten it and such and it doesn't require rerendering. I'm doing a happy dance!

  • Export - No audio after 1 minute into the film

    Hi,
a few days ago I started working on a project in Final Cut Pro X (Trial).
The project is about 3 minutes long and contains audio throughout, which is perfectly audible within Final Cut Pro.
The problem comes with the export. After 1:10 minutes into the film, the complete audio fades out (1 sec. fade) and does not come back.
I have tried 5 different export settings already and it does not make any difference.
I have searched the whole timeline for a clue, but it looks absolutly normal. And as stated above, the music is audible throght the film in the preview.
I even tried to export a completly new project with another audio file. There was no problem there.
It seems to be a problem within my project. But I simply can not figure out whats wrong.
Some quick help would be greatly appreciated, as I am kind of in a hurry to export this movie...
Has anybody already had the same problem?

Well, I may have been a bit harsh with my statement. But on the other hand - This program is not completely new. It's actually one year old and has had something like 5 updates.
And there are many features that are definatly not professional. The whole timeline and the way it behaves is just totally irritating. And it's not like, I am the only one who is complaining. And to be called a professional programm, there are just too many uncountable features that are missing.
I mean, this was a really small and short project. But instead of being faster or as fast as in any other program, I was slower and was constantly trying to figure things out, that should have been super easy to find and understand. If I already encountered speed problems (on a very powerful Mac Pro by the way) , numerous bugs and export problems in a project this small, I don't wanna work on anything bigger with this "Pro" application.
    @Tom Wolsky
I can post a screenshot as soon as I am back at our workplace. Probably tommorow.

  • Help - Problems exporting my first project - missing clips

    Hi all,
I've been a sound engineer for close to 20 years and I'm just finishing my first ever video edit, a project to help my wife.  Naturally our deadline is tomorrow morning....
I've got my edit done and it plays perfectly in Final Cut Pro X viewer.  When I export in any format (Youtube or just as a file to Quicktime) certain clips do not appear in the exported movie, the audio is there but the video is blacked out.  They are the same clips every time.
I imported most of the clips from the same camera, albeit in a few different batches.  When I look at the inspector info for some clips that play and some that don't they are exactly the same Codec - H.264, Linear PCM.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?
    Thanks,
    Ruairi

    Try this (might work).
Select one of the offending clips in the storyline and hit Shift+F to find it in the browser.
    Hit Cmd+C to copy it.
Create a new project (Cmd+N) and paste the clip in there.
Export the clip with it's current settings, then re-import that clip into the storyline and try your export again.
    Does the clip show up?
    If so, repeat as necessary.
The only other thing I can think of is to trash your preferences:
Download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager (free, simple to use, and perfectly safe, both to download and use).

  • Rendering audio of some clips distorted

I have an older project from last year imported by an older version of iMovie. I imported those clips into FCE and things are looking fine. It had to render the audio and my sequence was complete..., until I spot checked some sections of it.
Two of the longer clips (about 4 minutes each) start off fine, but about 2-3 minutes into the clip the audio is scrambled. I can still hear the original audio, but other audio from the same clip is being superimposed at repeating intervals with that changing every few seconds. Regardless, the audio track is destroyed.
If I go back to the original source clip and play in viewer, it's perfect from end to end. The only way I could get around one of them was to break it up into sub-clips and it seemed to work OK then. Haven't gotten to the other clip yet that's messed up.
Is there a known problem with rendering audio in FCE? Source clips were from a DV camera imported via firewire.

Well I think I have found the solution!
I have previously tried deleting the audio render folder (documents:final cut express documents: audio render files:your project:) with some success. Final Cut Express will ask to reconnect these files, just ignore and click 'continue'. However, this did not solve the problem for my current project.
This time I tried deleting not only all of the audio render files, but also the waveform cache files (documents:final cut express documents: waveform cache files:). This folder contains files from ALL of your projects, so only delete the files whose names begin with the names of audio or video capture files from the current project. ie. I only deleted files called 'Assembly00001kgwv', 'Assembly00002kgwv', because when I captured from my camera, I named the capture files 'Assembly'.
Once you have deleted all of these waveform cache and audio render files (it will not ask to reconnect with the cache files), you should be able to re-render your entire project with no problem.
I have re-rendered an hour and twenty minutes and after briefly looking over the whole thing, there seems to be no problem. I do not know what the problem was, and I am not an expert so I won't take any guesses, but the solution seems to work for me, so I hope that helps!
